Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I should have expected this. Poison gets three new legendaries and most of them work better for other types. At least poison is getting proper representation for once. Wonder how the peach boy will be? Will it break the toxic chain and make poison rise again?
Side note, what is the ideal...
What is the current consensus on types at the moment? Poison got a bunch of new Mons, but I barely see replays, ice was op but there's ban talks, what about the rest of the types? It's hard to get a proper read on everything through random monotype matches
I can't be the only one who finds this sad. We get all these cool paradox Mon, who all get the same busted ability and no possible secondary ability to make them unique, then it's so busted they get banned or the item to use it gets banned. Don't get me wrong, it's kinda cool to have elec...
OK, throwing my hat in the ring for my beloved poison types.
first off, this is a very good dlc for poison. Getting our first legendary trio and galar wheezings grand return are really good signs. Let's see how they measure up against their competition.
First up, Gheezing Vs Glummora. Both...
Odd question, but can I see those replays. I'm not questioning cha, I just really want to watch some matches with a good poison trainer. Most of the one's I've been watching have been disappointing.
Side note, is there a good way of watching matches aside from picking random ones?
I don't know if cha guys have had different experiences, but I've been watching as many poison fights as I can and dire claw isn't really a thing. People play sneasler, they have the move, but it takes a very special set of circumstances to sweep with sneasler. So far, every match I've seen...
I will say, and it's funny to feel this way as a poison till death, but I am happy for steel. It went from the biggest treat to a joke, and I'm actually happy for them.
Don't forget hisuian qwilfish is a thing. It might seem the same as overqwill, but giving it an eviolite makes it a better defender than it's evolution and it can actually fill a useful spot.
Amuk is also useful because it doesn't need support moves, making an assault vest very useful and...
That's a good point. What are the main threats in this generation and what is the best counters for them? Just saying, having a list might be useful both practically and for future reference
I remember seeing a post that Sloan muk is supposed to be getting drain punch according to a data leak. While it's not as reliable he was a tank with the assault vest setup anyway, coverage again steel is always good and the sheer number of dark Tues running around is good to smack.
I guess...
I'm no expert, but to me the thing that separates chi-yu and chien-pao and makes one absolutely broken is that special attacks are so much harder to deal with than physical attacks.
Physical attacks have a huge variety of counters; intimidate stops it with a swap, burn permanently nerfs it...
Thank cha! It's so nice to see someone appreciate my favourite type.
Cha right, poison does have some nice toys. We've got three of the best defensive Mon in toxapex, ammungus and clodshire, and the massive loss of hazard removal makes toxic spikes even scarier. Iron moth is a great sweeper...
Started writing this before hornstar posted. Going to post it anyway but thanks for a great post
Hello again everyone, long time mono poison fan again. I've been impressed by the other tier lists that people have been putting up, so I thought I'd have a go myself. Sadly, for personal reasons, I...
Hello everyone, long time mono poison amateur, thought I'd throw my hat in and give a minor poison analysis. I've been jumping on every poison game I could find and here are my thoughts so far.
Rankings are 4 for must have, 3 for good, 2 for ok and 1 for pass
Amoonguss 4 - thank the spirts...
