All type Terrain [Stage 4: Playtesting]

I think you misunderstood me, your answer has nothing to do wit my question. I was asking about changing effect of your ability.
Yeah, I understood. I just meant that if you want to use a Pokémon that has Mimetism with its original type, you can use it with another ability. Dunno, adding a third type is something currently only Forest's Curse and Trick-or-Treat do, and doesn't seem a good mechanic to me. I've seen how the third type mechanic has been interesting in the OM Hidden Type, but I'd like Mimetism to work just like Protean and Color Change, so that the entire typing is replaced with the Terrain type. Also, the Pokémon I mentioned all have better users with their same role and of their same typing (Vileplume<<Roserade, Florges<<Sylveon, etc.), so making them change type and always have a STAB could allow them to shine somehow, making them unpredictable.

Seed: Void Seed
Seed Effect: Raises special defense by one stage
Competitive Use: This terrain allows Flying types to really hurt the ausers of other terrains, which they cannot benefit from. They can spam low accuracy attacks against them and their Flying STAB is boosted even further. Hurricane becomes terrifying, for example.

Name: Fighting Spirit
Pokémon: Primeape (over Vital Spirit), Machamp (over Steadfast), Hitmonchan (over Keen Eye), Sawk (over Sturdy), Medicham, Infernape, Emboar

Competitive Use: This really helps with revenge killing, or at least, revenge-chipping, and counters Multiscale.

Name: Bushido
Pokémon: Throh (over Inner Focus), Lucario (over Inner Focus)
Description: Under Chakra Terrain, opponents lower their stats if they faint the user.
Effect: Under Chakra Terrain, if the user is knocked out by an attack, all of the opponent’s stats bar Evasiveness and Accuracy, lower one stage.

Pokémon: Blissey (Over Serene Grace), Audino (over Klutz), Comfey (over Flower Veil), Alolan Marrowak (over Cursed Body), Delphox, Volcanion, Chandelure (over Infiltrator)

Name: Coal Walker
Pokémon: Torkoal (over White Smoke), Darmanitan, Alakazam (over Inner Focus), Hypno (over Forewarn)
Description: Under Fiery Terrain cannot be burned, harmed by Fiery Terrain, or subject to Hazards.

Competitive Use: This helps Fire deal with Stealth Rock and other hazards and means that non Fire types can help out in Fiery Terrain.

Name: Hot Potato
Pokémon: Rapidash, Typhlosion Entei, Simisear, Pyroar, Volcanion, Houndoom (over Unnerve), Cacturne

Description: The user takes extra damage from Fiery Terrain, but speeds up.

Effect: The user takes double damage from Fiery Terrain and is no longer immune due to typing, but while under Fiery Terrain, their Speed doubles.

Competitive Use: This lets you sacrifice some longevity to really ensure you go first and make that revenge kill.

Name: Haunted House Dweller
Pokémon: Chandelure (over Flash Fire), Mr. Mime (over Technician)
Description: Under Ominous Terrain, the opponent may run in fear at the end of the turn.
Effect: Under Ominous Terrain, the opponent has a 30% chance of switching out at the end of each turn.

Pokémon: Gourgaist (over Pickup), Trevanent (over Frisk), Spiritomb, Banette (over Frisk).
Description: Under Ominous Terrain, the user’s Accuracy improves and they reveal the opponent’s Held Item.
Effect: Under Ominous Terrain, the user’s Accuracy improves one stage and, upon gaining this ability, entering the field, or when a new opponent enters the field, the opponent’s held item is revealed.
Competitive Use: This allows low accuracy moves to be spammed and aids in scouting.

Name: Grave Guardian
Pokémon: Cofagrigas, Doublade
Description: Under Ominous Terrain, the user’s Attack improves and they do extra damage to Dark types.
Effect: Under Ominous Terrain, the user’s Attack improves one stage and their moves do double damage to dark types.
Competitive Use: This helps prevent Dark types from stopping your Ghost using strategy.

Name: Striped Camouflage
Pokémon: Incineroar, Zebstrika (over Lightning Rod), Electivire
Description: Under Grassy Terrain, the user does double damage to opponents that switch in.
Effect: Under Grassy Terrain, the user does double damage to opponents that switch in, as if it had Stakeout.

Name: Grass Weave
Pokémon: Bellossom, Lilligant (over Leaf Guard), Shiftry (over Pickpocket), Leavnny (over Swarm)
Description: Under Grassy Terrain, the user’s stats do not lower and their Defense continually rises.
Effect: Under Grassy Terrain, the user’s stats cannot be lowered and each time they take damage, their Defense raises one stage, as if they had Stamina.
Competitive Use: This helps tank and means no annoying Intimidates and so forth. You can also spam Leaf Storm and similar attacks.

Name: Chilled Mind
Pokémon: Golurk (over Klutz), Metagross, Glalie (over Moody), Vanniluxe (over Weak Armor)
Description: Under Frosty Terrain, the user’s stats cannot be lowered and its moves cannot be restricted.

Competitive Use: Not having your moves restricted or your stats lowered heps prevent your strategy from being thrown off.

Name: Ice Age
Pokémon: Articuno, Aurorus, Mamoswine (over Snow Cloak), Alolan Ninetails, Avalugg (over Own Tempo)
Description: Under Frosty Terrain, Water Attacks become Ice attacks and Fire attacks half their power.
Effect: Under Frosty Terrain, Water Attacks become Ice attacks and Fire attacks half their power. This applies regardless of attacker and alters which moves he attacker gains STAB from.
Competitive Use: This helps protect ice types and allows you to use water attacks as an alternative to ice attacks.

Name: Hibernate
Pokémon: Beartic, Ursaring
Description: Under Frosty Terrain, when the user is affected by a status condition, they will rest and raise their Defense.

Effect: Under Frosty Terrain, whenever the user is affected by a status condition other than sleep, they will automatically call Rest. Whenever they fall asleep, their Defense will raise one stage.

Competitive Use: This helps make recovery and dealing with status easier.

May I suggest an ability that interacts with all the Terrains?
Its name is Mimetism and its effect would simply be:
On switch-in, holder's type changes in base of the active Terrain (following the mechanics of Camouflage).
Some good users would be obviously Kecleon, but also Pokèmon that mimetise and hide in the surrounding environment, like Weepinbell and Victreebell, Oddish line, Flabébé line, Carnivine and others. This would allow to use Nature Power at its best, gaining always STAB on it.
Pokemon that get it:Porygon family (Insteand of Analytic) Kecleon(Instead Of Color Change)

I agree that Castform should get it too though.

I actually thought of that ability myself before, but was simply going to call it All Terrain.

All right everyone, thanks for your nominations. Voting time is a go! I will endeavour to have the votes counted by Wednesday 10 a.m. GMT. You may vote for 3 Terrain abilities in all types apart from Grass - you may only vote 2 for that one, as it already has Grass Pelt. You can vote for one of your own abilities.

My votes:

Flying: Void Terrain

Fighting: Inner Peace, Fighting Spirit

Ice: Cold Shoulder, Ice Age

Grass: Leafy Shield, Flora Force

Fire: Scorched Earth, Hotheaded

Ghost: Haunted House Dweller

Flying: Foggy Terrain

Fighting: Perfect Zen, Concentration, Inner Peace

Ice: Snowball Effect, Frost Guard, Cold Hearted

Grass: Herbal Sprout, Leafy Shield

Fire: Hotheaded, Soul Burn, Magma Shell

Ghost: Ominous Sneak, Trickster, Invisibility Cloak

These submissions definetly had too many Fire and Ice puns.

Flying: Zephyr Terrain
Chakra Terrain abilities: Energy Boost, Perfect Zen, Quick Draw
Fire Terrain abilities: Controlled Burning, Scorched Earth, Hot-headed
Ominous Terrain abilities: Trickster, Ominous Sneak, Grave Guardian
Grassy Terrain abilities: Leafy Shield, Herbal Sprout
Frosty Terrain abilities: Cold-hearted, Melting, Snap Freeze

Name: Trickster
Effect: If the user's attacks have secondary effects (eg Flamethrower), those effects will always occur, unless the target is immune.
Pokemon: Chandelure (instead of Flame Body), Jellicent (instead of Damp), Gengar, Rotom (base)
Competitive use: Chandelure and Jellicent now basically have STAB Will-O-Wisps in the form of Fire Blast and Scald respectively, while Gengar has a STAB Poison Powder in Sludge Wave and Rotom has STAB Thunder Wave in the form of Thunderbolt. Combined with monstrously strong Hexes, and the foe's inability to recover HP, stall is going to have a hell of a rough time.
I highly recommend that you exclude flinching from this. Or maybe make it so that ability only activates when moving last.

Good idea, it's now only volatile status

Also - have updated the second post with a list of Terrain abilities and a list of pokemon who have had their abilities changed.

Chakra Terrain Abilities: Fighting Spirit, Inner Peace, Relentless

OK everyone, thanks for voting. The results:

Flying Terrain: Elevated Terrain

Grass Terrain Abilities: Leafy Shield, Herbal Sprout
Ghost Terrain Abilities: Trickster, Grave Guardian, Seance
Fighting Terrain Abilities: Perfect Zen, Inner Peace, Quick Draw

For the Flying Terrain, Ghost and Fighting abilities there were ties so I went with the ones I felt were best. It was a tough choice, again I was impressed with your creations. You can see the votes here

As always, thanks for your votes and submissions. Next slate is going to be something a bit different. In addition to submitting abilities for the Flying Type, Ground Type, Normal and Poison type Terrains, you may nominate 1 fully evolved Pokemon at B rank or below in the OU VR to receive the ability Surge Surfer. All Pokemon nominated will receive the ability, unless it would completely break them.

Will update the lists in Post 2 tomorrow.

Flying, Ground, Normal and Poison type terrain abilities? Very well, let's see if I can do something interesting o3o

Name: Soil Absorb
Effect: Under Sandy Terrain, the user will recover 1/8 of Max HP and non-volatile status are cured at the end of the turn.
Pokemon: Lileep/Cradily, Phanpy/Donphan, Rhyhorn/Rhydon/Rhyperior (Instead Ligthning Rod) Cubone/Marowak (Instead Ligthing Rod) Steelix (Instead Rock Head)
Competitive use: With this ability, those Pokemon become harded to take down and can become in special/physical walls to help Sandy Terrain teams, they can even use Rest for a full recover without the sleep side-effect! in Marowak's case, become a slow wallbreaker which can't be crippled by burns

Surge Surfer: Electrode (over Static)

Name: High Ground
Pokémon: Swords of Justice, Gallade, Samurott, Farfetch’d, Staraptor, Dodrio

Effect: When in Elevated Terrain, this pokemon boosts its Accuracy by one stage and its Fighting and Flying moves do double damage.
Competitive Use: You can spa low accuracy, high BP moves to devastating results.

Name: Ring Out
Pokémon: Throh, Machamp, Pidgeot, Fearow, Swellow

Effect: When in Elevated Terrain, this pokemon’s phasing attacks do an extra 50% damage and have a 30% chance to paralyse the target.

Competitive Use: You can phase your opponent’s team to cause severe damage to their strategy.

Name: Bird’s Eye View
Pokémon: Tornadus, Thunderus

Effect: When in Elevated Terrain, the opposing pokemon gains weaknesses (but not resistances) as if it had an additional Bug typing (unless it is already a Bug).

Competitive Use: This is a way to avoid your Flying attacks being resisted. Or you can spam Fire or Rocks.

Name: Mirage
Pokémon: 10% Zygarde, Medicham, Claydol
Effect: The opposing pokemon gains no benefit from Sandy Terrain, and while Sandy Terrain is active, if the opposing pokemon makes contact, they have a 30% chance of becoming confused.
Competitive Use: Ruin your opponent’s terrain abuse and confuse them at the same time.

Name: Mystical Sand

Pokémon: Krookodile (instead of Anger Point), Cofafrigas, Uxie, Hypno (instead of Inner Focus)
Effect: Boosts the pokemon’s Special Attac one stage in Sandy Terrain and boosts the damage of their Ground, Psychic, Fairy, Ghost and Dark attacks by 20%.
Competitive Use: Lets you dish out a lot of pain in the right terrain.

Name: Fairy Dust
Pokémon: Jynx (instead of Forewarn), Gothitelle (instead of Shadow Tag), Dhelmise, Ferraligatr, Wigglytuff (Instead of Cute Charm), Azelf, Golurk (instead of Klutz)
Effect: In Sandy Terrain the pokemon becomes immune to Ground and Dragon attacks and resists Bug, Dark and Fighting attacks.
Competitive Use: Gives you more defensive options, especially against the kind of attacks spammed in Sandy Terrain.

Name: Monkey’s Wedding
Pokémon: Infernape, elemental monkeys, Primeape, Castform, Sawsbuck, Pyroar, Sunflora, Tornadus

Effect: While in Cloudy Terrain, the pokemon gains all the benefits of being in both Sun and Rain ie. They do more damage with and take less damage from Fire and Water attacks and are unaffected by other weather, their Hurricanes have don’t miss, but the ones aimed at them do.
Competitive Use: Gives both offensive and defensive benefits.

Name: Steam Bath
Pokémon: Volcanion, Torkoal (instead of White Smoke), Kecleon, Bibarel (instead of Moody), Smeargle (instead of Moody), Mudsdale (instead of Own Tempo), Cinccino (instead of Cute Charm), Drampa (instead of Sap Sipper)

Effect: While in Cloudy Terrain, the pokemon takes half damage from Fire and Water attacks and becomes immune to Poison attacks and the Poison status.
Competitive Use: Allows you to tank more easily without being Toxic stalled.

Name: Shaded
Pokémon: Altaria, Ludicolo (instead o Own Tempo), Delcatty (instead of Cute Charm), Furfrou

Effect: While in Cloudy Terrain, the pokemon is immune to weather damage, they take half damage from Fire attacks and their Special Defense is boosted one stage.
Competitive Use: Protectsyou from weather abusers and lets you tank more easily.

Name: Acid Bath
Pokémon: Sharpedo, Muk (over Sticky Hold for Kantonese and over Power of Alchemy for Alolan), Swalot (over Sticky Hold), Garbador (over Weak Armor), Skuntank (over Keen Eye), Draglage (over Poison Point), Poipole
Effect: While in Corrosive Terrain, the pokemon’s Defense and Special Defense raise one stage each and contact with the pokemon causes damage as if they had Rough Skin.
Competitive Use: Helps you to stall out and punish attackers.

Name: Cauldron Bubble
Pokémon: Delphox, Kantonese-Ninetails, Nihilego, Toxicroak (over Anticipation), Crobat, Poipole, Amoongus, Swampert, Liepard (over Limber)

Competitive Use: Lets you hit harder while providing benefits for stalling out as well.

Name: Sweet Poison
Pokémon: Qwilfish (over Poison Point), Vespiqueen, Beedrill
Effect: While in Corrosive Terrain, the pokemon takes an extra 10% damage from contact moves, but those contact moves always bady poison the attacker and the attacker’s draining moves harm it as if this pokemon had Liquid Ooze.
Competitive Use: Lets you punish drainers and contact attackers for the price of some extra health.

You're a bit late on that. We're not submitting the terrain, but rather, abilities that will be activated if the terrain is on (Like Surge Surfer and Grass Pelt)

Name: Aerodynamic
Pokémon: Braviary (instead of Keen Eye), Dodrio (instead of Run Away), Honchkrow (instead of Super Luck)
Effect: Doubles the Pokemon's Speed stat in Elevated Terrain
Competitive Use: Makes a standard terrain sweeper that's useful against offense

Name: Clay Feet
Pokémon: Golurk (instead of Klutz), Mudsdale (instead of Own Tempo), Sigilyph (instead of Wonder Skin; that's a strange one but it has some feet-like limbs)
Effect: Doubles the Pokemon's Speed stat in Sandy Terrain
Competitive Use: Makes a standard terrain sweeper that's useful against offense

Name: Clay Stomp
Pokémon: Golurk (instead of Klutz), Mudsdale (instead of Own Tempo)
Effect: Boosts the Pokemon's Attack stat by 50%, but HP decreases by 1/8 of full every time when using a physical move HP in Sandy Terrain
Competitive Use: Provides a bulky terrain sweeper rather than a fast one to break walls

Name: Sticky Sand
Pokémon: Claydol, Gastrodon (instead of Sticky Hold), Hippowdon, Mudsdale (instead of Own Tempo), Palossand
Effect: Restores 1/8 of full HP every turn and Pokemon's stats cannot be lowered in Sandy Terrain; but loses 1/8 of full HP every turn in Rocky Terrain
Competitive Use: Provides additional healing to some defensive Pokemon

Name: Catalysis
Pokémon: Breloom (instead of Effect Spore), Seismitoad (instead of Poison Touch), Toxicroak (instead of Poison Touch)
Effect: Doubles the Pokemon's Speed stat in Corrosive Terrain
Competitive Use: Makes a standard terrain sweeper that's useful against offense

Name: Neurotoxin
Pokémon: Dragalge (instead of Poison Touch), Nihilego, Tentacruel (instead of Liquid Ooze)
Effect: The Pokemon's special attacks drain 50% HP of dealt damage in Corrosive Terrain
Competitive Use: Dragalge and Nihilego finally get semi-reliable recovery

Name: Toxic Waste
Pokémon: Garbodor (instead of Stench), Muk(instead of Stench), Muk-Alola(instead of Power of Alchemy), Swalot (instead of Sticky Hold), Weezing
Effect: Instead of poisoning, this Pokemon badly poisons the target in Corrosive Terrain; it also puts 2 layers of Toxic Spikes in 1 turn in Corrosive Terrain
Competitive Use: gives a high chance to cripple opposing wall with Poison Jab or Sludge Bomb without dedicating moveslot to Toxic and eases Toxic Spikes stacking

Doubleposting to separate this from submissions
Exploudit since we're doing Corrosive Terrain abilities now, it would be nice to know which Pokemon can use the move. You wrote "Learned by: WIP" in your submisison.
Sereg I don't mean to offend you, but some of your abilites are quite overcomplicated, stacking 2 or even 3 different effects. Part of Pokemon appeal is their simplicity, abilities usually give 1 simple or 2 intuitively connected effects. Too complicated effects might throw off potential new ATT players.
ChrystalFalchion I think you could also list Surge avilities in a sheet of Pokemon with changed abilities.

I nominate Pikachu-Alolan Cap for Surge Surfer (it's technically fully evolved, also we're probably gonna end up giving tons of things Surge Surfer anyways).

Name: Fierce Gust
Pokémon: Noibat, Noivern (Instead of Telepathy), Zubat, Golbat, Crobat, Jumpluff (Instead of Leaf Guard), Doduo, Dodrio (Instead of Run Away)
Effect: Under Elevated Terrain, if the Pokémon's raw speed stat is higher than the opponent's raw speed stat, the Pokémon will always go first, in spite of any other turn order/speed modifiers. Phasing moves are unaffected by this ability.
Competitive Use: Other than being an obvious callback to my Gusty Terrain, Fierce Gust allows fast Pokémon to stay fast, even in the face of Paralysis, Trick Room, Boosters, Priority, and any other speed and turn order modifiers. The ability to bypass Protect is also quite helpful.
* I figured this effect of the ability would be easier to code than Gusty Terrain's. Perhaps to code the ability, at the start of the turn you could check if the Pokémon is not using a phasing move and if its raw speed stat is higher than the foe's, and if so, inflict Quash on the foe for that turn.

Name: Gale Force
Pokémon: Taillow, Swellow, Rotom-Fan, Tornadus-Incarnate
Effect: If this Pokémon switches in to battle while Elevated Terrain is in effect, or summons Elevated Terrain itself, it summons a Tailwind for 4 turns.
Competitive Use: Gale Force allows a team to abuse Tailwind with little opportunity cost. Once Tailwind has been set up, slower Pokémon can wreak havoc on the opponent's team. Also notable is that Elevated Terrain grants immunity to entry hazards, making it easier to switch in a Gale Force user.

Name: Eagle Eye
Pokémon: Moltres, Hoothoot, Noctowl (Instead of Keen Eye), Hawlucha (Instead of Mold Breaker), Aerodactyl (Instead of Pressure)
Effect: When under Elevated Terrain, the Pokémon's attacks cannot miss, and have their critical hit ratio increased by one stage.
Competitive Use: Eagle Eye allows Pokémon to spam high-power, low-accuracy moves. Moltres can use Fire Blast and Hurricane, Noctowl gets an unavoidable Hypnosis, Hawlucha can't miss with High Jump Kick, and Aerodactyl can spam Stone Edge. Furthermore, the ability's high-crit ratio stacks with Sky Attack's boosted crit chance, which means that with Eagle Eye and a Razor Claw, Sky Attack gets a 100% critical hit chance.

Name: Clear Skies
Pokémon: Teddiursa (Instead of Honey Gather), Ursaring (Instead of Unnerve), Helioptile, Heliolisk (Instead of Sand Veil), Lickitung, Lickilicky (Instead of Own Tempo), Deerling, Sawsbuck (Instead of Sap Sipper)
Effect: If Cloudy Terrain is active and there is no weather currently on the field, the Pokémon gains a *1.2 boost to each of its stats (excluding Accuracy and Evasion).
Competitive Use: Clear Skies allows certain Pokémon to take advantage of the fact the weather will likely be less prevalent in All Terrain. When stacked with the boosts of Cloudy Terrain, Clear Skies users will become very tanky and hit extremely hard with Normal-type moves, and will get a useful speed buff.

Name: Neurotoxin
Pokémon: Nihilego, Spinarak, Ariados (Instead of Swarm), Dustox, Foongus, Amoongus
Effect: When Corrosive Terrain is active, any status moves used by the Pokémon that target the foe (e.g. Toxic, Scary Face, Leech Seed) confuse the foe and lower their speed by one stage. Does not apply entry hazards.
Competitive Use: Neurotoxin allows Pokémon that already use disruptive status moves to become even more of a hassle. Instant Parafusion is possible if you're feeling particularly sadistic, although it is limited to Nihiligo's Thunder Wave and Amoongus's Stun Spore. Alternatively, Toxic, Gastro Acid, or even Screech can be used to force switches, which now do a much better job thanks to their added effects.

Name: Earth-Shattering
Pokémon: Phanpy, Donphan, Golett, Golurk (Instead of Klutz), Cranidos, Rampardos, Incineroar
Effect: When under Sandy Terrain, the Pokémon's super-effective moves deal double damage.
Competitive Use: Earth-Shattering turns super-effective moves into complete overkills, allowing Pokémon with wide coverage to have great success at wall-breaking. Donphan gets a surprise Ice Shard, Rampardos has incredible coverage (and can even run a surprise special attack if it likes), and Golurk gets the elemental punches.

EDIT: It seems Sereg already has an ability called Bird's Eye View, I changed mine to Eagle Eye.
