UU Amoonguss

i had checked this already when pak had it, but since im taking it over ill just keep it as 0/3

[OVERVIEW]

* Amoonguss is a reliable pivot due to a great ability in Regenerator, which lets it repeatedly switch into common threats without worry.
* It has a great defensive typing that allows it to check threats such as Keldeo, Primarina, and Calm Mind Clefable.
* Amoonguss also learns Spore, letting it put a foe to sleep to provide teammates with free turns.
* While Amoonguss's typing lets it check a lot of common offensive Pokemon, it also leaves it vulnerable to Pokemon like Latias, Alakazam, Togekiss, and Infernape.
* Amoonguss largely relies on its defensive typing to check threats due to its mediocre defensive stats aside from HP.
* Amoonguss becomes rather passive after putting a foe to sleep because of its low offensive stats.
* Amoonguss possesses an abysmal Speed stat that leaves it outsped by nearly every Pokemon in the metagame.

[SET]
name: Bulky Pivot
move 1: Spore
move 2: Giga Drain
move 3: Hidden Power Fire
move 4: Clear Smog
item: Black Sludge
ability: Regenerator
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Spore is mandatory, as it cripples foes and generates momentum for teammates.
* Giga Drain is Amoonguss's main STAB move and allows it to check Water-types such as Keldeo and Primarina effectively.
* Hidden Power Fire hits Steel-types such as Scizor, Cobalion, and Forretress for super effective damage.
* Clear Smog eliminates all stat changes, preventing sweepers such as Calm Mind Clefable and Swords Dance Gliscor from setting up on Amoonguss.
* Sludge Bomb is a strong Poison-type STAB move that hits potential Spore switch-ins such as Grass-types and threatens to poison others like Overcoat Mandibuzz.
* Foul Play punishes physical attackers and Ghost-types like Decidueye and Gengar that otherwise do not fear Amoonguss.

Set Details
========

* 252 HP EVs maximize Amoonguss's overall bulk.
* 72 EVs in Special Defense along with a Calm nature keep Amoonguss from being OHKOed by Choice Specs Primarina's Psychic after Stealth Rock damage, allowing you to play around the move accordingly.
* The remaining EVs are invested into Defense in order to improve Amoonguss's matchup against physical attackers as much as possible.
* Black Sludge provides Amoonguss with passive recovery, keeping it healthy alongside Regenerator, and deters Pokemon from using Trick or Switcheroo on it.

Usage Tips
========

* Amoonguss should switch into threats such as Keldeo and Primarina early on and threaten with Spore.
* Figure out what your opponent is likely to let go to sleep early on, and play accordingly to keep up momentum, ideally using Spore on a foe more valuable to your opponent later on.
* After pivoting into threats, it is essential to utilize Regenerator to keep Amoonguss healthy.
* Always keep Amoonguss healthy enough to effectively beat the threats it is supposed to check.

Team Options
========

* Bulky Water-type Pokemon like Suicune and Swampert are good partners for Amoonguss because they can check Fire-types; in return, Amoonguss can switch into Grass- and Electric-types. Alomomola and Slowbro are also bulky Water-types that can form a nice Regenerator core, and the former offers an additional form of recovery in Wish support.
* Entry hazard removal is appreciated by Amoonguss, as hazards can wear it down even with Regenerator. Latias and Starmie pair well because they can clear hazards as well as check Fire-types and be an additional check to Keldeo.
* Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Mega Blastoise appreciate the presence of Amoonguss, as it handles some of their main checks in Clefable and Primarina, giving them an easier time wallbreaking.
* Dark-type Pokemon like Krookodile, Bisharp, and Hydreigon fit well with Amoonguss because they can cover its Psychic-type weakness while Amoonguss resists Fighting- and Fairy-type moves for them.
* Steel-type Pokemon like Scizor, Klefki, and Empoleon are also good partners for Amoonguss because they resist Psychic- and Ice-type moves, although they do share a Fire-type weakness with it.
* Pursuit trappers like Mega Absol, Mega Aerodactyl, and Choice Scarf Krookodile are appreciated by Amoonguss, as they can trap Pokemon like Alakazam, Latias, and Gengar that threaten it otherwise.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Stun Spore is an option to paralyze foes after one is already put to sleep by Spore, but additional coverage is generally more favorable.
* Synthesis is a decent option that lets Amoonguss keep itself healthy without relying on Regenerator, which is useful for teams that are particularly weak to Pokemon like Clefable and Primarina.
* Seed Bomb is an option to break the Substitutes of Pokemon like Calm Mind Raikou, which Giga Drain fails to do after the target boosts.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types like Latias, Alakazam, and Reuniclus fear nothing Amoonguss can do aside from use Spore and threaten it out.

**Fire-types**: Volcanion, Chandelure, and Entei all easily OHKO Amoonguss with their respective STAB moves and take little damage from any of its attacking moves.

**Flying-types**: Mega Aerodactyl, Togekiss, and Crobat can force Amoonguss out thanks to their powerful STAB attacks, although they must be wary of Spore. Mandibuzz can switch into anything Amoonguss uses thanks to Overcoat preventing it from being affected by Spore.

**Stallbreakers**: Taunt variants of Mew and Gliscor completely shut down Amoonguss and can proceed to do major damage to your team.

**Special Wallbreakers**: Strong special wallbreakers like Choice Specs Hydreigon, Kyurem, and Gengar can do large amounts of damage to Amoonguss and threaten it out, although they must be wary of Spore.

**Setup Sweepers**: Steel-types like Bisharp and Cobalion can set up on Amoonguss without being affected by Clear Smog, although they would prefer Amoonguss to have already put another Pokemon to sleep so they can set up more reliably. Other sweepers like Swords Dance Gliscor and Substitute + Calm Mind variants of Raikou and Suicune can set up on Amoonguss as well, although the latter two should have a boost before trying to sweep because Amoonguss can break their Substitutes with a Giga Drain otherwise.

First time so bear with me lol

Moves:
  • I think you just forgot to finish the Foul Play bullet point or there was some copy paste mess up, so yeah just add in stuff like Decidueye and Gengar.
Set Details:
  • I get what it's meant by "its only recovery option aside from Regenerator", but the wording just makes it seem like it literally has no option when Synthesis exists, even though it's not slashed there, so either add a new bullet point for Regenerator or rephrase it to just be how Black Sludge grants passive recovery and keeps Amoonguss healthy in conjunction with Regenerator.
  • Also mention how Black Sludge deters opposing Pokemon from using Trick or Switcheroo against it, since that's pretty much the main reason for using it over Leftovers.
Team Options:
  • It's better to go generic and then give examples of specific Pokemon unless that one Pokemon does something that nothing else can. Basically:
    • First bullet point: bulky Water-types that take on Fire-types that threaten Amoonguss, and afterwards, make special mention of Slowbro and Alomomola for forming that Regenerator core.
    • Second bullet point: entry hazard removal as a whole then specifically why Latias and Starmie are great.
    • Third bullet point: Probably just Pokemon or wallbreakers as a whole that have trouble dealing with Primarina and Clefable
    • Fourth bullet point: Not quite sure that Mandibuzz deserves its own point, better off replacing it with Dark-types as a whole considering all of them share some decent synergy with Amoonguss, even with some compound weaknesses (Amoonguss taking Water- and Grass-type attacks that target Krookodile; Bisharp and Hydreigon being 4x weak to Fighting and Fairy respectively, and Amoonguss can tank both of those well)
  • Steel-types such as Scizor, Klefki, Empoleon (also doubles as a Defogger) should be added. I know you mentioned this in the check for Pak but might as well mention it again.
  • Mention Pursuit trappers since they trap stuff like Alakazam, Latias, Gengar, Decidueye that can all take advantage of Amoonguss
Checks and Counters:
  • I'd mention special wallbreakers since Amoonguss doesn't exactly take strong hits, such as from Pokemon like Hydreigon and Kyurem, well if it's not resisted.

QC 1/3 after this.

Don't think I need to tell you but not everything is in full sentences and you lack periods at the end.

Reword the Synthesis part in OO; it is a valid option for teams especially weak to CM Clefable / Primarina, and while it is not the option of choice on most teams, it is a bit better than what you make it sound.

Seed Bomb should be added to OO for especially Raikou-weak teams.

Flying-types to Checks and Counters.

That's all. QC 2/3 after that.

Overview police

* Fantastic ability in Regenerator that lets Amoonguss remain healthy while fulfilling its main role as a pivot.

This is the big idea, so it's helpful to put some version of this first. Then relate the individual traits together to this. Kinda just a reverse order.

Also move the pivot bullet to the beginning of the overview IMO. That's the big idea, then Regen, typing, and Spore naturally follow since they contribute to its role as a pivot.
