Regarding the Self-Reffing tidbit:

Due to the change in systems, all reffing 202s currently underway have no value anymore. Luckily that affects only acidphoenix , who I would fail due to missing DQ too much (hai hypocrisy!), but I digress <_<;.

I am working on the points system and intend to release it by wednesday. We will start receiving applications by then. For now I will centralize them. After that I will open to other tutors, as I tune things up.

If you intend to apply, I suggest you start gathering the links of your battles. thanks.

Program: Starting ASB
Timezone: EST
ASB Experience (if any): No matches.
Preferred speed (Expedited, Standard, or Slow): Expedited
Why do you want to join Smogon's ASB: It seemed to be a really interesting, enjoyable experience.
One random fact about yourself: I am the memes.
Any extra comments: None!

Sorry for not releasing the points system yet. Reasons.

Two things:

1) If you intend to apply for being white-listed (and isn't white-listed rn), shoot me a Profile msg. That should speed things up. And no I am not being sarcastic, I actually want you to do it.
2) Battling 202 is closed until further notice. There are some things about it I gotta think through and for that I need to actually finish the current ones before being a silly bird and taking more. 202s taken and not posted will proceed as soon as a ref is found for them (the ones with battles ongoing stay as is I suppose). I am not gonna self-ref them anymore. So if you are waiting on me: that is why.

EDIT: Some record keeping on my behalf

Singles: 1 point per round
2APR Doubles: 1.5 point per round
3APR Doubles or Triples: 2 points per round
Anything above triples: 2.5 points per round
Raid: 3 points per NM round. 6 points per HM round
TLR: 0.5 point per non-combat round. Combat Rounds as per above
Uneven number of pokemon per side on the rules format OR Multi-Player Melee: Add the number of pokemon out, divide it by 2 and round normally. Then classify the result under Singles, Doubles or Triples (or above triples)
Flavor: add 1 point per round with full flavor (will provide examples on the thread). TLR's copy pasta flavor and random flavors like pasting poetry or making one-line comments won't award a thing extra. Add the total of points for all matches ongoing or finished up to 2 months prior to the signup, regardless if the round was actually reffed before or after the 2-months mark (to favor those that commit to longer battles).
Amount of points needed to be whitelisted: Don't know yet. Gotta try some examples.

Reffing Experience (if any): Zero
Why do you want to be tutored: Seems like half the refs just up and left so someone needs to step in and fill the void; ASB seems to be at a crawl atm. Being able to ref also makes you a better player.
Any extra comments about yourself: not really.

WhiteList applications is LIVE.

Total number of points necessary: 65. If I deem that it is being too easy to get it, I'll raise. Likewise, if not many people qualify, I will lower it.

But trust me, it isn't hard to reach that. To give you an idea, I have around 165 points. And I am not reffing nearly as much as I used to.

See OP for rules and point-value table.

From the day of this post, all current white-listed people have 6 months to renew their licenses. Not gonna tag them all.

Why do you think you deserve to be white-listed?
I ref a decent amount and my reffings are usually on time and with little to no error.
Which types of matches do you ref the most? Why? Serious matches like gyms and tournaments, because they're fun both as a ref and a spectator.
Do you flavor? Why or Why not? I flavour when I have time/am in the mood (read: sadly, not much).
Any extra comments about yourself: Around this time of year tends to be the worst for my activity (closing in on the end of school), but Summer to Christmas I'm very active.

Why do you want to be tutored: Wanted learn how TLRs work and what's a good strategy or good thinking process when planning one. Didn't want to do beginning TLRs cause not interested in their legendaries (or at least atm) so hoping this program help me with Manaphy as well as how to think through other TLRs as well *shrug*

Why do you think you deserve to be white-listed?
While I still have much to learn and make mistakes all the time I can say I ref in a timely manner and often whenever the opportunities arises.

Which types of matches do you ref the most? Why?
If I had to say a concrete answer mostly, Battle Tower matches and flashes. I'm pretty much random as far as what I tend to ref the most. I do these matches more often than not because they are easier for me to manage when I actually do get some free time.

Do you flavor? Why or Why not?
Hell yeah. Sometimes I think I go a little overboard when I get real into it. While I may not do it for every match I have reffed up to this point, I always try to do it for longer / important battles. I feel it makes not only my job as a ref more entertaining but also the trainers I am reffing because that is what it's all about in the end; good fun.

Any extra comments about yourself:
No not really. Just your local Bisharp who's name isn't Complications. :D

OK, people, we will begin our transition.

Here is how things will go:

- Gym, TLR and Battling 202 Programs are hereby closed. The rules of them will be kept on the OP should the new head of mentorship feels like they can be reopened. This is effective immediately.
- ZhengTann will be in charge of the Mentorship program starting May 2nd. His duties will be basically: manage the entire thing, find a replacement for Ooraloo on Starting ASB and do the WhiteListing.
- JJayyFeather will be in charge of the Reffing 101 program. Starting Immediately.

That should be all.

Why do you think you deserve to be white-listed?
I've been an avid flash reffer when I have time, been taking BT matches, and have started to ref Gym matches as my time frees up more.

Which types of matches do you ref the most? Why?
Flash and tower training matches. Though I'm hoping to be able to ref a bigger variety of things soon.

Do you flavor? Why or Why not?
I'm more focused on timely arrival and helping keep things quicker on my end. Though I plan on throwing some random "attempted" funny lines in to my reffings of larger matches.
