[BH] Mega Rayquaza [QC 2/3] (reassigned)

Status
Not open for further replies.
Current status: Implemented second QC check and reformatted into paragraphs with some slight tweak. Waiting for 3rd QC.

[OVERVIEW]
With a stellar combined offensive stats of 360, matched only by Deoxys-A, a high Speed stat of 115 and good offensive typing, Mega Rayquaza is one of the most diverse offensive Pokemon in Balanced Hackmons, capable of serving as either a set up sweeper, revenge killer, late game cleaner, wallbreaker or multiple roles combined in one, making it extremely unpredictable. Mega Rayquaza can utilize its amazing Dragon / Flying typing to gain STAB on many notable moves such as Oblivion Wing and Core Enforcer. This is further backed by Mega Rayquaza's innate synergy with excellent abilities, such as Triage, Aerilate, Tinted Lens and Contrary, pressuring every single viable type of team. Stall teams are often pressured by the numerous ways Mega Rayquaza can use to set up such as Tail Glow and Shell Smash, which combined with Substitute can often tear defensive cores apart. Balanced teams are afraid of Choice Specs Aerilate Boomburst, which these teams often have no switch-ins that can avoid a 2HKO from it. Hyper Offensive teams are afraid of the FakeSpeed combo.
Defensively, Mega Rayquaza's well rounded 105/100/100 bulk paired with it's awesome typing allows it to withstand even super effective attacks from Pokemon such as Giratina and Zygarde-Complete.
However, such a strong Pokemon still has its limitations. Common abilities such as Dazzling, Queenly Majesty, and Psychic Surge blocks Mega Rayquaza's priority attacks, which severly hinders it from functioning as a priority abuser. Imposter Chansey poses a great threat to Mega Rayquaza, as it has struggles to combat with its bulkier self. Core Enforcer as a newly introduced move is not only super effective against Mega Rayquaza but also pressures it's ability, making it fail to 2HKO some Pokemon that it is usually able to, such as Giratina.

Moves

========

Aerilate-boosted Boomburst is Mega Rayquaza's strongest STAB, allowing it to immediately threaten almost any Pokemon that does not resist it with an OHKO or 2HKO. The combination of Fake-Out and Extreme Speed provides Mega Rayquaza with valuable priority, turning it into a powerful revenge killer that can check most offensive Pokemon and set up sweepers, provided they aren't immune to priority moves. Techno Blast is run alongside Boomburst and not instead of Boomburst as it has less power and significantly less PP which makes it a far less potent STAB move. King's Shield is a useful alternative to Fake Out as it helps Mega Rayquaza live opposing priority moves such as Extreme Speed from Refrigerate Kyurem-B. Precipice Blades is a fantastic complementary coverage move with Boomburst as it can hit Steel- and Rock-types that resist Flying for super effective damage. Thousand Arrows can also be used to hit levitating Pokemon and Steel / Flying types such as Celesteela, but the loss in power makes it a generally subpar option unless Mega Rayquaza is running a Life Orb. If one opts to equip Choice Specs, Mega Rayquaza should forgo physical priority moves in exchange for additional coverage. Techno Blast is invaluable on the Choice Specs set as without it Rayquaza would be walled by Soundproof users, Moongeist Beam and Secret Sword are both great coverage options for Rayquaza. Moongeist Beam is able to 2HKO Aegislash as well as RegenVest Solgaleo after Stealth Rocks. Moongeist Beam's secondary effect also allows Rayquaza to get rid of Sturdy Shedinja. Secret Sword hits Steel- and Rock-types such as Registeel and Mega Tyranitar for super effective damage and pairs really well with Moongeist Beam. Either of theses moves can also be replaced with Volt Switch, which allows Rayquaza to keep up momentum as well as scout for and weaken its potential counters. However, Volt Switch does have the negative effect of giving Imposter Chansey momentum if it were to transform into Mega Rayquaza.

Set Details
========

Naive Nature allows Mega Rayquaza to outspeed Mega Diancie as it is the other most common fast -ate ability user as well as taking less priority move damage. Timid and Modest are both commonly seen on Choice Specs set as most of its variants doesn't require physical power. Aerilate is used to grant flying STAB to Normal-type attacks as well as boosting their power. Sky Plate is used to maximise damage output without losing the ability to change moves or suffering recoil damage. Safety Goggles can be used instead to prevent Spore from crippling Mega Rayquaza as well as preventing it to take weather damage. If bringing Spore, Mega Rayquaza also does not have to be careful with opposing Magic Bounce pokemon. Choice Specs is used to grant a power boost for special moves, allowing it to deal immense damage to most Pokemon, for example, having the ability to OHKO Primal Kyogre 50% of the time with Boomburst.

Usage Tips
========

Standard Aerilate Mega Rayquaza has lost some of its power in Gen7 due to the -ate abilities being nerfed. With the new factors Dazzling, Queenly Majesty and Psychic Terrain further limiting its ability to serve as a revenge killer against faster threat, it is best used as a wallbreaker that forces switches and pressures opposing team. When pared with Choice Specs, Mega Rayquaza should be brought in often against pokemon that lacks offensive presence to deal as much damage as possible. In most cases, Boomburst is the primer choice when attacking as it often deals more damage than an appropriate coverage move which is very important to keep in mind. Be aware of Stealth Rocks as Aerilate Mega Rayquaza has no way to heal its HP, make it even more vulnerable to passive damage and limits the amount of times it can afford to switchin. When you are trying to finish off a target, be aware that it may have Dazzling / Queenly Majesty with them. If you are not sure about what abilities it has and Mega Rayquaza is a pokemon you cannot afford to lose in the battle, use another pokemon to pick it off. It is necessary to have a pokemon that hard counters your Mega Rayquaza set in your team as itself is not Imposterproof. Some Physical defensive Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro and Mega Audino can run Soundproof to wall Mega Rayquaza and trap it with their own moves if Mega Rayquaza is bringing Boomburst over Techno Blast.

Team Options
========

Registeel is a great teammate of Mega Rayquaza as it can block opposing Imposter pokemon copying Mega Rayquaza from punching holes in the team. When not using Moongeist Beam, Aegislash can also be an option to replace Registeel. They both resist and can take common attacking types Mega Rayquaza is weak to such as Ice, Dragon and Fairy. Pivots with Defog / Rapid Spin and / or Magic Bounce such as Giratina can prevent Stealth Rocks from being on players field as well as bringing Mega Rayquaza in with a slow pivot move, therefore minimizing the damage Mega Rayquaza need to take. Set up sweepers such as Mega Mewtwo Y, Primal Kyogre, and Regiggigas appreciates Mega Rayquaza's ability to take down strong attackers and force opponents to switch, giving them a free turn to set up if predicted correctly.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

Oblivion Wing is a must in order for the set to function, giving Mega Rayquaza a strong +3 priority STAB attack when pared with Triage, which gives it ability outspeed Extreme Speeds and slower Fake Outs so that it can easily revenge kill threats as well as making it extremely hard to revenge kill Mega Rayquaza. It also heals Mega Rayquaza decently every time it hits, extending the time Mega Rayquaza can suivive in battles. It also easily nullifies the Life Orb recoil by healing itself. Tail Glow is the primary set up option to boost Mega Rayquaza's special attack high enough to pierce through walls, while Shell Smash is an alternative option that allows Mega Rayquaza to outspeed common Dazzling / Queenly Majesty users such as Deoxys-Attack. Moongeist Beam is used to hit through Unaware walls as well as proving an excellent coverage with its Flying STAB. Drain Punch can be used on Shell Smash sets to provide a physical fighting coverage at +3 priority which can let Mega Rayquaza deal with pokemon such as Prankster Registeel and Mega Tyranitar. Spore is used to gain opportunity to set-up, while Substitute is used to prevent Imposter users from copying its stats and Prankster users that resist Flying STAB to use moves such as Topsy-Turvy.

Set Details
========

Timid let it move before other Mega Rayquaza which does not have a Speed boosting nature and lets it outspeed Mega Diancie, while Minimum Attack along with Timid minimizes the damage taken from extremely rare Foul Play. In the Shell Smash Drain Punch set, Naive and Maximum Atk should be used over Timid in order to not lose Physical attack power. Triage is used to let Mega Rayquaza hit at a +3 priority with Oblivion Wing and Drain Punch, which makes it a great check to other setup sweepers without priority blocking abilities. Safety Goggles is used to prevent being affected by Spore as well as ignoring the consequence if its own Spore is bounced back, while Life Orb can be an alternative option to hit harder, and has little drawbacks due to Oblivion Wing healing Mega Rayquaza quickly.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Rayquaza is capable of doing multiple roles, however its Stealth Rock weakness makes it easily wore down if it is forced to switch after it switch in. Reserve it and try not to let it take damage even if it can take it. Use Oblivion Wing when possible to ensure Mega Rayquaza stay healthy. Be aware of the common Dazzling/Queenly Majesty and Psychic Terrain users including but not limited to Deoxys-Attack, Mega Mewtwo Y and Yveltal, which will stop your Oblivion Wing from working. Make sure Stealth Rock is on opponents side before sweeping as Focus Sash can ruin your plan. The last common weakness is that Mega Rayquaza is extremely hard to stop without stopping the priority, and this would become huge threat once copied by Imposter. Therefore it is best to remove the Imposter pokemon in opponent's team before setting up or have a solid switch-in such as Dazzling / Queenly Majesty / Unaware pokemon to counter it.

Team Options
========

Defensive pivots such as Registeel and Giratina that uses U-turn, Volt Switch, Baton Pass or Parting Shot can bring Mega Rayquaza into battle without letting it take prior damage. They can also set up Stealth Rocks to prevent Focus Sash users stopping Mega Rayquaza's sweep. Registeel can also take Ice-type and Fairy-type attacks for Mega Rayquaza. Poison Heal set up users such as Regigigas and Primal Kyogre appreciate the ability Mega Rayquaza has to take down powerful attackers. In return they can absorb status for Mega Rayquaza. In return they can take down a threatening pokemon that Mega Rayquaza cannot kill, for example Contrary V-Create uers. Fast attackers such as Choice Scarf Primal Kyogre and Pheromosa can take down fast attackers that are under Psychic Terrain or has Dazzling/Queenly Majesty. It is worth noticing that Registeel can be used to lure in Imposter pokemon and trap it with a teammate's Magnet Pull.

Moves

========

Draco Meteor is the primary STAB for Mega Rayquaza that allows it to hit extremely hard while boosting it's Special Attack. V-create boosts Mega Rayquaza's defenses and speed, making it hard to take down. It also grants Mega Rayquaza a 180 BP Fire-type coverage that hit Steel-type Pokemon super effectively. Spore is used against Pokemon that can stop it from sweeping such as Unaware Mega Audino. It can also check Imposter sets if it is bringing Safety Goggles. Oblivion Wing is an alternative option to give Mega Rayquaza a method of recovery. Superpower can be used to hit specially defensive Rock-type pokemon such as Mega Tyranitar with super effective damage as well as providing a method to boost its Attack. Substitute can be used to prevent Imposter from copying itself, block status from affecting it as well as blocking Topsy-Turvy.

Set Details
========

Naive nature grants Mega Rayquaza a boost in speed and lets it set up against slower Pokemon, keep its power and lets it take minimal damage from priority moves. Leftovers grant Mega Rayquaza passive recovery, while Focus Sash lets it take a hit when at full HP. Life Orb can be used to boost it's damage, however it is not as useful due to the recoil damage and Mega Rayquaza being to boost it's offense easily. Contrary makes the set powerful, as all these high base power moves it uses can now also boost its stats.

Usage Tips
========

Do not bring it in too many times when Stealth Rock is present, as the chip damage cripples Mega Rayquaza a lot. Try to minimize the times you bring Mega Rayquaza in when it is unlikely to set up and sweep. Also keep in mind that yhis set is frail and relatively weak when not setted up yet. Send Mega Rayquaza in only when against a pokemon that lacks offensive presence. This set needs some time to set up and does not appreciate Prankster status moves such as Haze that can often neuter it easily. Therefore, it is best to remove all Prankster pokemon before bring it in. Mega Rayquaza has advantage against and can surprise Dazzling / Queenly Majesty pokemon that come up to wall it as they usually expect it to use priority. Therefore it can fit into a team that rely a lot on priorities. Be aware of potential Unaware walls as they can easily wall Mega Rayquaza not running Sunsteel Strike / Moongeist Beam.

Team Options
========

Pivots that can counter set up sweepers such as Prankster Registeel and Unaware Tapu Fini work great with Mega Rayquaza as they can easily let Mega Rayquaza be in favorable matchups. They can also help wall Imposter users that had grabbed Mega Rayquaza's boosts. Priority users such as Mega Diancie, Kyurem-Black and Zekrom can pressure and force out Pokemon that outspeed Mega Rayquaza such as Mega Mewtwo Y. Defensive Fairy-type Pokemon such as Fur Coat Tapu Fini and Unaware Mega Audino can not only counter Imposters that copied Mega Rayquaza but also counter Mega Rayquaza itself. It is recommended to bring Pokemon that can counter these counters, such as Steelworker Kartana and Dialga.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options

========

It is worth noticing that Judgement along with an appropriate type of Plate allows Mega Rayquaza to hit pokemon that otherwise walls it such as Aegislash and Registeel while still being able to wall Imposter users using these pokemon. A Quick Feet Tail Glow set can be used to counter quicker pokemon immune to priority and prevent Imposter from beating it with Ice Beam, however the set does not have access to priority and is vulnerable to it. Tough Claw along with Choice Band is an alternative option for Mega Rayquaza, as this combination allows Mega Rayquaza to hit extremely powerful on the physical side as well as hitting the common specially defensive switchins such as Chansey. Dazzling / Queenly Majesty Shell Smash can be a decent set for Mega Rayquaza, however the set limited by Mega Rayquaza's rather average STAB coverages. Pokemon such as Yveltal and Marshadow are much better Pokemons to utilize this set. Choice Scarf is a great item when pared with Contrary, as it allows Mega Rayquaza to spam its powerful attack at a greater speed. It can also beat Imposter that try to copy it's stats, and can cripple defensive switchins by using trick.

Checks and Counters
========

**Dazzling/Queenly Majesty/Psychic Terrrain**: Pokemon with these abilities or under the affects Psychic Terrain such as Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Gengar and Deoxys-Attack are immune to Mega Rayquaza's priority attacks and can set-up or deal massive damage if the team lacks a switch-in for it.
**Imposter**: Imposter is a huge threat to Mega Rayquaza as the majority of its standard set cannot beat imposter Pokemon. However, it is not easy to switch in without taking massive damage, and Mega Rayquaza almost always have a teammate that counters its set. Mega Rayquaza also have options such as Quick Feet Tail Glow set or Choice Scarf Contrary set to beat Imposter.
**Prankster**: Prankster users can nullify Mega Rayquaza's boost using Haze, invert its stat boosts using Topsy-Turvy, steal its stat boosts with Heart Swap or cripple it with status.
**Defensive Steel-types**: Defensive Steel-type pokemon such as Registeel, Solgaleo, Celesteela, and Aegislash can tank its STAB, usually survive a coverage and cripple Mega Rayquaza status move or Knock Off or deal massive damage to it using Ice Beam or Metal Burst. However, it is not easy to take a hit from Mega Rayquaza if it is already boosted or if it is using appropriate coverage against them.
**Mega Diancie**: Mega Diancie both resists Flying-type attacks, Mega Rayquaza's main STAB-type, and is immune to its Dragon STAB. Both Mega Diancie's STAB are super effective against Mega Rayquaza, and an Pixilate boosted Extreme Speed has roughly 30% chance of OHKOing Mega Rayquaza. However, Mega Rayquaza can take a hit from Mega Diancie's Extreme Speed if it has a defense boost on the Contrary set and KO back with appropriate move, or threaten to OHKO Mega Diancie with +3 SpA boosted Oblivion Wing.
**Spectral Thief**: Spectral Thief users that can survive a hit can steal Mega Rayquaza's boosts and utilize it. However they can often be KO'd by the following priority move if they don't have a way to defend it.
**Sturdy Shedinja**: Sturdy Shedinja can be a problem for certain variants of Mega Rayquaza due to its ability to take all direct attacks. However it does have to be aware of possible moves Mega Rayquaza brought to KO it such as Moongeist Beam and Magma Storm, making it rely on prediction.
**Specially Defensive Rock-types** Specially defensive Rock-type Pokemons such as Mega Tyranitar, Nihilego, and Regirock resist Mega Rayquaza's flying STAB and is able to tank almost any Special attack moves under Sandstorm due to the Special defense boost. However, they have to be aware of coverage moves such as Secret Sword and Earth Power.
[OVERVIEW]
- Mega Rayquaza has a good speed of base 115 and both attacks at 180 let it become the most diverse offensive Pokémon in the meta and be either a sweeper, revenge killer, late game cleaner, wallbreaker or multiple roles combined in one. The stats let it have options of becoming threatening set-up attacker or a abuser of choice items.
- Although not stellar, Mega Rayquaza's well rounded 105/100/100 bulk that allows it to take some hits from some unboosted set-up attackers.
- Mega Rayquaza has a awesome Dragon/Flying typing that let it able to use powerful STAB attacks such as moves from Aerilate and Oblivion Wing boosted from Triage. Flying-type also gives Mega Rayquaza immunity to Sticky Web, which is extremely important for an attacker. It also make it immune to Ground-type attacks bar thousand arrows. The Dragon typing gives Mega Rayquaza resistance to common attacking types such as Fire as well as giving resistance to Primal-Kyogre's water STAB, making it a fair check to both Primals. However, the typing also gave Mega Rayquaza a 4x weakness to Ice, 2x weakness to Dragon and Fairy, which are all common offensive types in BH. It also leaves Mega Rayquaza weak to Stealth Rock, limiting the times it can switch in. Not resisting any -ate abilities makes it vulnerable to priorities for some sets.
- Mega Rayquaza has lost the priority boost from Gale Wings when not at full health, making physical Gale Wings set no more viable. However the special Gale Wing set can be replaced with Triage which give it a even better +3 priority.
- Imposter is a huge threat to Mega Rayquaza, as it has no viable sets to beat Imposter bar Substitute, Choice Scarf and Quick Feet.
- Mega Rayquaza is hurt by several new abilities introduced in Gen 7, most notably Dazzling, Queenly Majesty and Psychic Surge which all stops it from using its STAB priorities. Innards Out also hinders its ability to sweep, and finally Spectral Thief steals its boosts away if the user survives a hit.

- Aerilate boosted Boomburst allows it to effectively achieve 2HKO to almost every Pokemon with Choice Specs, making it a threatening wallbreaker. It also deals massive damage without item boost.
- Extreme Speed is used to grant Mega Rayquaza a powerful +2 priority STAB attack, making it a great revenge killer.
- Volt Switch allows switch out and gain momentum when opponent sends in Pokemon that can wall Mega Rayquaza such as Registeel, Chansey and Assault Vest Solgaleo.
- Moongeist Beam provides a great Ghost-type coverage that ignores opposing abilities which can be extremely useful for Mega Rayquaza.
- Blue Flare can be used to hit Steel type switchins such as Registeel and Assault Vest Solgaleo for immense damage. Magma Storm can be used instead to trap Steel-type Pokemon as well as KO Sturdy Shedinja.
- Spore is used to cripple opposing switchins such as certain variants of Chansey and Solgaleo. King's Shield can be used instead to scout for opposing coverage move and punish opposing Pokemon with Attack stat drop if they used a contact move.
- Secret Sword can be used to hit Chansey and Rock-types with super effective damage as well as targeting their often weaker Defense stat.
- Earth Power can be used on Mega Rayquaza to deal massive damage to Flash Fire Steel-type pokemon such as Registeel and OHKO Nihilego that would otherwise be able to take Boomburst from it.

- A Quick Feet Tail Glow set can be used to counter quicker pokemon immune to priority and prevent Imposter from beating it with Ice Beam, however the set does not have access to priority and is vulnerable to it.
- Dazzling / Queenly Majesty Shell Smash can be a decent set for Mega Rayquaza, however the set limited by Mega Rayquaza's rather average STAB coverages. Pokemon such as Yveltal and Marshadow are much better pokemons to utilize this set.
- Choice Scarf is a great item when pared with Contrary, as it allows Mega Rayquaza to spam it's powerful attack at a greater speed. It can also beat Imposter that try to copy it's stats, and can cripple defensive switchins by using trick.

Checks and Counters
========

**Innards Out**: Innards Out users are greats threats to Mega Rayquaza as they can bring it down when Mega Rayquaza KO's them. However, they have to be wary of Mega Rayquaza lowering its HP to a safe range before killing it.

Approved. This is a big responsibility but I'm willing to let you try it out.

Also, I really want to get things moving so I'm looking to increase the size of the QC team slightly, and that begins with adding Electrolyte. Congrats!
ty! ill try my best
btw how do i put the analysis into the box thing that u can open if u click it?

I'll simply comment on the overview and first set you have here. Remember to add Specs Aerilate, which is still quite viable these days.
Before I get into the analysis, there are a lot of GP issues that make the analysis awkward to read. The information is there though, so I'll do my best.
[OVERVIEW]
- Mega Rayquaza has a decent speed of base 115 and both attacks at 180 let it become the most diverse offensive Pokémon in the meta and be either a sweeper, revenge killer, late game cleaner, wallbreaker or multiple roles combined in one.
Flying type also gives Mega Rayquaza immunity to Sticky Web, which is extremely important for an attacker except for the case when it run Contrary. It also make it immune to passive damage by Spikes and Toxic Spikes and ground type attacks bar thousand arrows. The Dragon typing prevents it from being weak to Volt Switch, letting it to not take as much chip damage. it also gives Mega Rayquaza resistance to common attacking types such as Fire as well as giving resistance to Primal-Kyogre's water STAB, allowing it to take Primal-Kyogre's Water Spout after the power has been reduced by Stealth Rock most of the time. However, the typing also gave Mega Rayquaza a 4x weakness to Ice, 2x weakness to Dragon and Fairy, which are all common offensive types in BH. It also leaves Mega Rayquaza weak to Stealth Rock, limiting the times it can switch in.
Make this into multiple bullet points please.
Sticky web is bad; don't try to make it into something good that Mega Rayquaza doesn't have. It's good that Mega Rayquaza is immune to webs, so just keep it that way.
Most Primal kyogre run Steam Eruption as well as Water Spout so that they don't have to worry about having a weaker water move, so probably remove that part
It also resists U-turn as well as Volt Switch.

- Imposter is a great threat to Mega Rayquaza, as it has no viable sets to beat Imposter bar Substitute.
It does have ways to impostor proof itself such as with Quick Feet, which is a very viable set but underrated in the metagame. I've used it to great effect before. Anyway, weakness to impostor is something most offensive mons have, so this point might be unneeded.
It also lost Gale Wings to gain boost for Oblivion Wing when not at full hp, but however the new ability Triage can easily replace it.
These sentences are a bit too long for overview and are better for the checks and counters section; consider combining it all into one sentence. You can delete the comment about Gale Wings being replaced by Triage, or move it up to the top of the overview and make a separate bullet about it.
- Mega Rayquaza gained access to Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam in Gen 7, which helps it easily break through Unaware walls.

=== Triquaza ===
Rayquaza-Mega @ Safety Goggles / Life Orb
Ability: Triage
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Oblivion Wing
- Tail Glow
- Moongeist Beam
- Spore / Substitute

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

- Oblivion Wing is a must in order for the set to function, giving Mega Rayquaza a strong +3 priority STAB attack when pared with Triage, which gives it ability to easily revenge kill threats as well as making it extremely hard to revenge kill Mega Rayquaza. It also heals Mega Rayquaza decently every time it hits, extending the time Mega Rayquaza can suivive in battles. However the move is stopped by Dazzling, Queenly Majesty, and Psychic Surge when against something not flying.
We don't need to know when the move cannot be used here. Mention that it easily nullifies Life Orb recoil.
- Tail Glow is necessary to boost Mega Rayquaza's special attack to pierce through walls.
- Moongeist Beam is used to hit through Unaware walls as well as proving an excellent coverage with its Flying STAB.
It also beats Sturdy Shedinja.
- Spore can be used to gain opportunity to set-up, while Substitute is used to prevent Imposter users from copying its stats and Prankster users that resist Flying STAB to use moves such as Topsy-Turvy.

Set Details
========

- Maximum Spe and SpA investment along with Timid let it move before other Mega Rayquaza which does not have Spe fully invested as well as maximising the damage output.
Most Mega Rayquaza run maxed Spe, so say that it speed ties opposing Mega Rayquaza.
- Triage is used to let Mega Rayquaza hit at a +3 priority with Oblivion Wing.
- Safety Goggles is used to prevent being affected by Spore as well as ignoring the consequence if its own Spore is bounced back.
Add that it can be used against impostors.
- Life Orb can be an alternative option to hit harder, and has little drawbacks due to Oblivion Wing healing Mega Rayquaza quickly.

Usage Tips
========

- Mega Rayquaza is capable of doing multiple roles, however its Stealth Rock weakness makes it easily wore down. Reserve it and try not to let it take damage even if it can take it. Use Oblivion Wing when possible to ensure Mega Rayquaza stay healthy.
- Be aware of the common Dazzling/Queenly Majesty and Psychic Terrain, which will stop your Oblivion Wing from working.
These first two bullet points has a bunch of disjointed ideas. Try and organize them please. They're all true though.
- Be careful of the pokemon that has massive HP movepool. If Mega Rayquaza is a wincon for you, don't kill these pokemon in a blow unless you are sure they do not have Innards Out.
- Make sure Stealth Rock is on opponents side before sweeping as Focus Sash can ruin your plan.
Since Mega Rayquaza can't set up Stealth Rock, the mention of Stealth rock in the team options section is good enough. This line can be removed.
- Mega Rayquaza is extremely hard to stop without stopping the priority, and this would become huge threat once copied by Imposter. Therefore it is best to remove the Imposter pokemon in opponent's team before setting up.
That's true for every bh mon. Remove it.

Team Options
========

Add entry hazard setters.
-Supportive pokemon that uses U-turn, Volt Switch, Baton Pass or Parting Shot can bring Mega Rayquaza into battle without letting it take prior damage.
Give examples.
- Poison Heal set up users such as Regigigas and Primal Kyogre appreciate the ability Mega Rayquaza has to take down powerful attackers. In return they can absorb status for Mega Rayquaza.
- Innards Out users such as Chansey and Zygarde-C appreciates the ability Mega Rayquaza has to revenge kill sweepers as it can then be saved for bigger threats. In return they can take down a threatening pokemon that Mega Rayquaza cannot kill, for example Contrary V-Create uers.
Zygarde-C is wasted as an innards Out user since it can do so much more useful things than die. If you really want another option besides Chansey, which is useful since it can bluff Fur Coat set, go for Guzzlord, which really has nothing better to do.
- Choice Scarf users such as Primal Kyogre and Pheromosa can take down fast attackers that are under Psychic Terrain or has Dazzling/Queenly Majesty.

I'll simply comment on the overview and first set you have here. Remember to add Specs Aerilate, which is still quite viable these days.

Could you possibly bold your comments to make it easier to distinguish between you writing and ours in the future?

Ready for QC! following Quantum Terrasect's suggestion, I'm currently putting Specs Aerilate set on the top of OO.

Thank you for helping me with this. I have implemented majority into my analysis. However, there are some things that I cannot agree with.
First of all, u've mentioned how imposter is a threat to all offensive pokemon. this is not true, as quite a few pokemons are imposterproof. and even if it is true, it is still the analysis writers' responsibility to let the readers know that this threat exists, as some of them may not have played this meta before.
About Zygarde-C, first it can bluff a fur coat user just as chansey can, and without the limit of species clause there really shouldnt be the idea of "a pokemon is wasted" as you can always run another if you need.

I'll take Mega Mewtwo Y if no one else is doing it yet.

Edit: WIP
Edit2: Ready for QC

[OVERVIEW]
- Mewtwo-Mega Y has the highest unboosted Special Attack in the game with a great 140 base Speed to boot.
- Although it is cursed with a Psychic typing and subpar defenses, it has acceptable 106/120 special defenses.
- Due to its fragility, it needs some support by defensive or Dark type pokemon like Yveltal, Tyranitar, or Registeel to function effectively.

Psychic Terrain Sweeper
Mewtwo-Mega-Y @ Focus Sash / Choice Specs / Safety Goggles
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psystrike
- Moongeist Beam
- Focus Blast / Aura Sphere
- Spore / Tail Glow / Volt Switch

Set Comments
Moves
- Psystrike is the main nuke, at least 2HKOing anything that doesn't resist it and 3HKOing max defensive Zygarde-Complete.
- Moongeist Beam is to hit Shedinja, other Psychic types, and physically defensive walls.
- Focus Blast is to hit Steel types; however, Aura Sphere can be used for more reliable hits.
- Spore is used if you cannot KO the opponent fast enough; however, Tail Glow can be used against walls to make Mewtwo-Y even more powerful.
- Volt Switch is to pivot if Mewtwo-Y is in trouble.

Set Details
========
Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment with a Timid nature makes sure Mewtwo-Y outspeeds the 130 speed tiers while still maintaining high offensive presence. Focus Sash makes sure Mewtwo-Mega-Y lives a hit, while Safety Goggles is used against Spore.

Usage Tips
========
- Mewtwo-Y will mostly be killed if it switches in, so a slow pivot is optimal.
- Once Psychic Surge wears off, be weary of priority as it will most likely OHKO you.
- If you're using Focus Sash, try to get rid of hazards before you switch in so it isn't wasted.

Team Options
========
- Mewtwo-Y works well with Dark types such as Yveltal and Tyranitar as they resist each other's weaknesses.
- Hazards are particularly useful to break Sashes, especially against sweepers such as Deoxys-A, other Mewtwo-Ys, and Gengar-Mega.

Set-Up Sweeper
Mewtwo-Mega-Y @ Fairium Z / Power Herb
Ability: Simple
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Geomancy
- Stored Power
- Moongeist Beam
- Focus Blast / Aura Sphere / Baton Pass

Set Comments
Moves
- Z-Geomancy boosts all of Mewtwo-Y's stats bar accuracy and evasion by 2, making it very powerful. Geomancy then boosts Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed by 4, maxing them out.
- Once Mewtwo-Y is boosted, Stored Power should OHKO anything that doesn't have a Dark typing.
- Moongeist Beam is to hit Shedinja, other Psychic types, and Unaware walls.
- Focus Blast is to hit Steel and Dark types; however, Aura Sphere can be used for more reliable hits.
- Baton Pass is used if there is a Spectral Thief Sweeper so you can pass to a normal type without losing the boosts.

Set Details
========
Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment with a Timid nature makes sure Mewtwo-Y outspeeds the 130 speed tiers while still maintaining high offensive presence. Simple multiplies all boosts by 2, making Mewtwo-Y very scary after a Z-Geomancy. Fairium Z boosts all of your stats by two, making you bulky enough to stomach a physical hit even if it is super effective; however you can use Power Herb if you want to boost in just one turn.

Usage Tips
========
- Make sure you don't set up on anyone with Spore, as Mewtwo-Y will become a sitting duck for other sweepers.
- Watch out for common Focus Sash users and Spectral Thief users, as they can countersweep and possibly lose you the game.

Team Options
========
- Mewtwo-Y works well with Normal types such as Slaking and Regigigas as they are immune to Spectral Thief.
- It also should be paired up with an Dark-type Unaware Spectral Thief user such as Yveltal if Mewtwo-Y's boosts are stolen or Imposter Chansey switches in.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options

========
- Mewtwo-Y can also run a Contrary set with Psycho Boost, Fleur Cannon, Leaf Storm, and Overheat. Having only one STAB, however, other pokemon are probably better using it.

Checks and Counters
========
- Deoxys-A: Deoxys can live a hit thanks to its Focus Sash and counterattack with CFZs, killing Mewtwo-Y if it doesn't hold a sash as well.
- Priority: If there isn't Psychic Terrain up, Galvanize Zekrom, Pixilate Diancie-Mega, and Aerilate Rayquaza-Mega will easily eliminate Mewtwo-Y. Additionally, Prankster users can easily Heart Swap, Topsy-Turvy, or Haze Mewtwo-Y's boosts.
- Imposter Chansey: Chansey can easily switch into Mewtwo-Y and if they win the speed tie, can proceed to sweep the rest of the team, especially with the Set-Up Sweeper set.
- Bulky Walls: Walls such as Primal Groudon, Zygarde-Complete, and Lugia can tank Mewtwo-Y's attacks fairly easily and KO it with moves such as Metal Burst.
- Unaware: Unaware walls such as Yveltal can tank a hit from Mewtwo-Y and steal the boosts via Spectral Thief.
for the first sets, life orb should be the first option. not saying the others are bad, in fact i myself run specs. however, life orb is just much more flexible and more useful in general.
imo the second set should be moved to other options. not only the simple z-geomancy set can be used by other pokemon more effectively, but also the whole set can be countered easily by experienced players, making it not that effective. i would recommend it to be moved to other options.

So I'm gonna leave a few comments, feel free to take into consideration.

QY_CS There's no mention of mixed Shell smash triage which is imo the better triage set as it outspeeds common dazzling mons and is more versatile when it comes to coverage, for example it can run drain punch to beat prankster steels or sunsteel to beat unaware pixies.

I think the standard set should be something like:
Shell smash / Tail Glow
Owing
Moongeist
Secret Sword

with mentions of sunsteel, drain punch and spore in moves.

---------------------------------------------------------

Electrolyte I made a few comments on Zekrom previously, tagging you because idk if you've seen them or just didn't agree with them.
Thank you for your advice! Personally I consider Tail Glow to be more powerful, giving it the ability to 2HKO several pokemon that with a +2 boost it wouldn't faint such as Physical Defensive Zygarde-C (90.3% chance when +3). It also gives a 68.8% chance to OHKO Mega Audino which is fairly important. The above calculation are done without an item boost, which I believe will alter the results into a guarenteed 2HKO/OHKO. While the power may not be extremely important, another trait Mega Rayquaza has is the ability to take some weak unboosted hits. This trait is very important for it to become a successful wallbreaker, which after Shell Smash it will not maintain. The idea of outspeeding Dazzling pokemon is also not as reliable as they can often bring Focus Sash and Spectral Thief, making the situation far more dangerous for the player as a +3 SpA boost will not give much advantage for the Dazzling pokemon, but a +2 Atk, SpA and Spe will certainly turn it into a deadly attacker. Personally I believe Yveltal is a better user of Shell Smash compared to Mega Rayquaza for its typing, as it can access a 140 BP STAB Power Trip after using Shell Smash.
This is my personal idea. It may not be completely true, so I welcome anyone to catch any parts I may have error with.

QC Check [2/3]

Flying type also gives Mega Rayquaza immunity to Sticky Web, which is extremely important for an attacker. It also make it immune to passive damage by Spikes and Toxic Spikes and ground type attacks bar thousand arrows.
Sticky Webs and Toxic Spikes aren't really that relevant enough to mention this. Imo you rlly don't need to mention this bullet at all due to Mega Ray being an offensive mon and not worrying too much about being chipped by entry hazards (although SR weakness is still annoying for it sometimes).
- The Dragon typing prevents it from being weak to Volt Switch, letting it to not take as much chip damage. it also gives Mega Rayquaza resistance to common attacking types such as Fire as well as giving resistance to Primal-Kyogre's water STAB, allowing it to take Primal-Kyogre's Water Spout after the power has been reduced by Stealth Rock most of the time.
Just mention it resisting Fire and Water type attacks, meaning it has potential to check both Primals which is rlly important by itself.
- Mega Rayquaza gained access to Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam in Gen 7, which helps it easily break through Unaware walls.
Eh this is a blanket addition to technically every setup sweeper, I wouldn't mention
- Imposter is a great threat to Mega Rayquaza, as it has no viable sets to beat Imposter bar Substitute.
Quick Feet Tail Glow and Scarf Contrary say hi (will touch on this below)
- Mega Rayquaza is hurt by several new abilities introduced in Gen 7, most notably Dazzling, Queenly Majesty and Psychic Surge which all stops it from using its STAB priorities. Innards Out also hinders its ability to sweep, and finally Spectral Thief steals its boosts away if the user survives a hit.

Shell Smash Traige with Drain Punch also kinda works and can sunrise opponents. Would just mention these two options in Moves.

Set Details
========

- Maximum Spe and SpA investment along with Timid let it move before other Mega Rayquaza which does not have Spe fully invested as well as maximising the damage output. It also lets it outspeed Mega Diancie so that it does not take Fake Out damage.
Fix with the Max out EVs
- Triage is used to let Mega Rayquaza hit at a +3 priority with Oblivion Wing and lets it act as a great check to other setup sweepers without priority blocking abilities.
- Safety Goggles is used to prevent being affected by Spore as well as ignoring the consequence if its own Spore is bounced back.
- Life Orb can be an alternative option to hit harder, and has little drawbacks due to Oblivion Wing healing Mega Rayquaza quickly.

Usage Tips

Include examples of common mons that use these abilities
- Be careful of the pokemon that has massive HP movepool. If Mega Rayquaza is a wincon for you, don't kill these pokemon in a blow unless you have scouted and are sure they do not have Innards Out.
Well is Traige Ray is fully special, it really does not have to worry about IO Chansey per say as even +3 Owing does not even come close to OHKing. Plus it also has Sporre to nullify most prominent IO mons.
- Make sure Stealth Rock is on opponents side before sweeping as Focus Sash can ruin your plan.
- Mega Rayquaza is extremely hard to stop without stopping the priority, and this would become huge threat once copied by Imposter. Therefore it is best to remove the Imposter pokemon in opponent's team before setting up or have a solid switch-in such as Dazzling / Queenly Majesty / Unaware pokemon to counter it.

Team Options
========

-Supportive pokemon such as Registeel and Giratina that uses U-turn, Volt Switch, Baton Pass or Parting Shot can bring Mega Rayquaza into battle without letting it take prior damage. They can also set up Stealth Rocks to prevent Focus Sash users stopping Mega Rayquaza's sweep.
In return they can take down a threatening pokemon that Mega Rayquaza cannot kill, for example Contrary V-Create users.
- Fast attackers such as Choice Scarf Primal Kyogre Mega Diancie and Pheromosa can take down fast attackers that are under Psychic Terrain or has Dazzling/Queenly Majesty.
- Stuff to take on Steel types should also be mentioned, as things like Registeel and Solgaleo can completely wall this set. U can include examples like Magnet Pull Primal - Groudon and Stakeout Mega Garchomp.
- Fairy-type and Ice type swtichins are also great partners. You can include stuff like RegenVest Solgaleo and Poison Heal Primal Kyogre for example.
- Imposter checks are also nice, with the best example being Safety Goggles Unaware Mega Audino, which can stop Chansey in its track quite easily when facing this set. Safety Goggles Sand Stream/Unaware Mega Tyranitar is also another good one.

=== Aerilate ===
Rayquaza-Mega @ Safety Goggles / Sky Plate
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe -> Dont forget to fix the EVs and make them maxed out
Hasty Naive Nature
- Fake Out / Techno Blast
- Extreme Speed
- Boomburst / Techno Blast
- Moongeist Beam / Magma Storm / Spore / King's Shield

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

- Fake Out is used for breaking Focus Sashes, Illusions as well as dealing chip damage usually without punishment.
- King's Shield can be used instead to scout opponents moves and punish them with an attack stat drop if they use a contact move.
It is also nice to bait out coverage moves too.
- Extreme Speed is mandatory on this set, giving it a +2 priority that hits most pokemon hard and can often k.o an offensive pokemon that does not resist it after it has taken fake out damage, forcing them to switch out.
- Boomburst deals massive damage to opposing pokemon and 2hko's physical walls such as Giratina and Mega Audino.
- Moongeist Beam deal massive damage to Aegislash and hit Sturdy Shedinja which would otherwise wall it. It also provides an excellent coverage along with its flying type attacks.
- Spore spreads sleeping status around and give it more turns to deal damage as well as break some walls that would otherwise wall it with recovery. However it should be used with Safety Goggles to prevent being bounced back.
- Magma Storm is still nice in trapping steels and dealing with Sturdinja. Not as good as it was in ORAS but still perfectly usable.

Set Details
========

- Maximum Spe along with Hasty allows it to outspeed Mega Diancie as it is the other most common fast -ate ability user. Maximum Atk maximizes the damage Fake Out+Extreme Speed deal, and the other 4 extra EVs are put into Spa to let it deal more damage on the special side, making sure Boomburst 2HKO physically defensive Primal Kyogre.
Fix to correlate with Max EVs and Naive Nature cause it wants to take min damage from opposing prio
- Aerilate is used to grant flying STAB to normal type attacks as well as boosting their power.
- Safety Goggles is used to prevent Spore from crippling Mega Rayquaza as well as preventing it to take weather damage. If bringing Spore, Mega Rayquaza also does not have to be careful with opposing Magic Bounce pokemon. Sky Plate can be an alternative option to let it deal more damage.
Imo slash Sky Plate first, especially with the -ate nerfs this gen, the extra power can be crucial when determining 3HKOes and 2HKOes which is uber important

Usage Tips
========

- Aerilate Mega Rayquaza has lost some of its power in Gen7 due to the -ate abilities being nerfed. It is best used as a scouting pokemon and revenge killer rather than relying on the power of boomburst and try to be a wallbreaker.
Also mention introduction of prio blocking abilities that neuter it checking these faster threats
- Be aware of Stealth Rocks. Unlike Triage Mega Rayquaza which can somehow heal itself, Aerilate Mega Rayquaza has no way to heal its HP, make it even more vulnerable to passive damage and limits the amount of times it can afford to switchin.
- When you are trying to finish off a target, be aware that it may have Dazzling / Queenly Majesty with them. If you are not sure about what abilities it has and Mega Rayquaza is a pokemon you cannot afford to lose in the battle, use another pokemon to pick it off.
I mean usually its pretty obvi if they have APS or not if they switched in on it, but for analyses sake I think this can stay
- It is necessary to have a pokemon that hard counters your Mega Rayquaza set in your team as itself is not Imposterproof.
- Also be aware of physically defensive Soundproof users such as Mega Slowbro and Mega Audino, which are able to wall this set.

Team Options
========

- Registeel is a great teammate of Mega Rayquaza as it can block opposing Imposter pokemon copying Mega Rayquaza from punching holes in the team. When not using Moongeist Beam, Aegislash can also be an option to replace Registeel. They both resist common types Mega Rayquaza is weak to such as Ice, Dragon and Fairy.
- Pivots with Defog / Rapid Spin and / or Magic Bounce can prevent Stealth Rocks from being on players field as well as bringing Mega Rayquaza in with a slow pivot move, therefore minimizing the damage Mega Rayquaza need to take.
- Set up sweepers such as Mega Mewtwo Y, Primal Kyogre, and Regiggigas appreciate Mega Rayquaza's ability to take down strong attackers and force opponents to switch, giving them a free turn to set up if predicted correctly.
- Something that can take on bulky Rock types such as Primal Groudon and Mega Mewtwo X is also key due to Mega Ray usually being walled by them.
- Again stuff that can take Ice and Fairy type attacks is also rlly nice for Mega Ray.

=== Contrary ===
Rayquaza-Mega @ Life Orb / Expert Belt / Choice Scarf / Safety Goggles
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe -> Dont forget to fix the EVs and make them maxed out
Naive Nature
- V-create
- Superpower / Leaf Storm / Spore
- Draco Meteor / Leaf Storm
- Sunsteel Strike / Gear Grind / Oblivion Wing / Substitute / Trick

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

- V-create is the what makes this set powerful, giving Mega-Rayquaza a boost in both defenses so it can take some hits as well as letting it have a fantastic 180 Base Power fire coverage move.
Also mention that it hits Steels for so much damage
- Superpower gives Mega Rayquaza fighting type coverage as well as boosting both its attack and defense stat.
To mainly hit Rock-types that usually can deal with Contrary sets
- Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm gives Mega Rayquaza a way to deal with physical walls, namely Zygarde-C and Mega Swampert.
Mention these separately. Also make Draco be first mentioned as it is legit what makes this set work so well alongside V-Create.
- Sunsteel Strike and Gear Grind is used for Fairy types that otherwise would be able to take hits and KO back with their super effective STAB move, it also has the advantage of hitting through Fur Coat and Unaware users that take little from its other attacks and hitting Sturdy Shedinja, while Gear Grind breaks possible Focus Sashes.
- Oblivion Wing gives Mega Rayquaza ability to heal itself as well as giving it a Flying STAB.

- Substitute helps clock Imposter and can work rlly well due to how much Contrary Mega Ray forces switchins
- Spore to put walls to sleep and can pseudo-improof itself with Safety Goggles
- Trick works to cripple walls on Scarf sets

Set Details
========

- Maximum Atk, Spe and a speed boosting nature is given to maximize its damage output. Naive is used over Hasty to let it take priorities better.
Fix to match with Max EVs
- Life Orb is used to boosts its damage, however Expert Belt can be used instead if you dislike it taking recoil damage.
-
Choice Scarf lets Mega Ray blow through offensive teams and also helps it win the 1v1 vs Imposters.
- Contrary makes the set powerful, as all these high base power moves it uses can now also boost its stats.

Usage Tips
========

- Do not bring it in too many times when Stealth Rock is present, as the chip damage cripples Mega Rayquaza a lot. Try to minimize the times you bring Mega Rayquaza in when it is unlikely to set up and sweep.
- This set is frail when not setted up yet. Send Mega Rayquaza in only when against a pokemon without immediate power.
- This set needs some time to set up and does not appreciate Prankster status moves such as Haze that can often neuter it easily. Therefore, it is best to remove all Prankster pokemon before bring it in.
- Innards Out is a great stop to this set, therefore it is also recommended to take these pokemon down before sweeping. However, Mega Rayquaza can use some moves that are weak to the Innards Out pokemon before it kills them to avoid the OHKO from their ability.
- Mega Rayquaza has advantage against its Traige and Aerilate sets and can surprise Dazzling / Queenly Majesty pokemon that come up to wall it as they usually expect it to use priority. Therefore it can fit into a team that rely a lot on priorities.
- Also mention that Unawares can deal with it if its not running Sunsteel.

Team Options
========

- Pivots that can counter set up sweepers such as Prankster Registeel and Unaware Mega Audino Tapu Fini work great with Mega Rayquaza as they can easily let Mega Rayquaza be in favorable matchups. Some of them have moves such as Glare to let Mega Rayquaza set up before getting hit, while some of them can use Defog or Rapid Spin to clear the rocks and minimize the chip damage Mega Rayquaza takes when entering the field.
Just mention Prankster Haze and Unaware blocking setup boosted attacks
- Priority users such as Mega Diancie and Kyurem-B appreciates the ability Mega Rayquaza has to pressure Dazzling /Queenly Majesty pokemon. In return, they can pressure strong attackers and give Mega Rayquaza chances to set up against opposing defensive pokemon.
- Also mention Improofers such as Fur Coat Tapu Fini and Unaware Mega Audino if not Sunsteel Strike. Checks to these defensive threats are also handy partners for Mega Ray (which include Steelworker Kartana and Dialga).

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options

========

- Choice Specs Aerilate Mega Rayquaza is an extremely strong wallbreaker that can pierce through almost everything with appropriate coverage moves, notably Focus Blast Secret Sword, Moongeist Beam and Earth Power, or simply an insanely strong Boomburst. However, it will be locked into a move every time it switches in and chooes, forcing it to switch out most of the time. It would also need the player to be really good at predicting in order to hit hard.
Honestly, Specs Mega Ray is one of the best wallbreakers atm and I can definitely see it having its own set. Will discuss with rest of QC on this, so leave it as is for now.
- Judgement along with an appropriate type of Plate allows Mega Rayquaza to hit pokemon that otherwise walls it such as Aegislash and Registeel while still being able to wall Imposter users using these pokemon.
- Dazzling / Queenly Majesty Shell Smash can be a decent set for Mega Rayquaza, however the set limited by Mega Rayquaza's rather average STAB coverages. Pokemon such as Yveltal and Marshadow are much better pokemons to utilize this set.
- Mega Rayquaza can also use a Specially offensive Contrary set. However it can be easily walled by Specially defensive Unaware pokemon such as Chansey.
With no EV limit, no worth mentioning this bullet.
- Choice Scarf is a great item when pared with Aerilate, as it allows Mega Rayquaza to spam Boomburst against faster attackers. This set can also cripple defensive switch-ins by giving them Choice Scarf using Trick.
- A SpA focused ev spread can be used on the Aerilate as well, however it lose power for Fake Out and Extreme Speed, the two relatively weaker attacks.
- A Quick Feet Tail Glow set can be used to counter quicker pokemon immune to priority and prevent Imposter from beating it with Ice Beam, however the set does not have access to priority and is vulnerable to it.
This set should be raised higher, besides the prio weakness, its rlly not that bad and one of first mega ray sets I use apart from standard ones.

Checks and Counters
========

**Dazzling/Queenly Majesty/Psychic Terrrain**: Pokemon with these abilities or under the affects Psychic Terrain are immune to Mega Rayquaza's priority attacks and can set-up or deal massive damage if the team lacks a switch-in for it. With examples being MMy, Deo-A and Mega Gengar.
**Imposter**: Imposter is a huge threat to Mega Rayquaza as it does not have the ability to beat its copy, and it has to rely on Substitute to prevent being copied. However, it is not easy to switch in without taking massive damage, and Mega Rayquaza almost always have a teammate that counters its set.
This is rlly set dependant, so I would go more in depth as to which exact sets have issues with Imposters bc not all of them do.
**Prankster**: Prankster users can negate Mega Rayquaza's boost using Topsy-Turvy Haze, steal its stat boosts with Heart Swap or cripple it with status.
**Innards Out**: Innards Out users are greats threats to Mega Rayquaza as they can bring it down when Mega Rayquaza KO's them. However, they have to be wary of Mega Rayquaza lowering its HP to a safe range before killing it.
**Defensive Steel Types**: Defensive Steel type pokemon such as Registeel, Solgaleo, Celesteela, and Aegislash can tank its STAB, usually survive a coverage and cripple Mega Rayquaza with status move or Metal Burst, cripple it with Knock off, or hit it hard with Ice Beam. However, it is not easy to take a hit from Mega Rayquaza if it is already boosted or usinf Fire coverage.
**Mega Diancie**: Mega Diancie both resists Flying type attacks, Mega Rayquaza's main STAB type, and is immune to its Dragon STAB.
- Specially defensive Rock types such as Mega Tyranitar, Nihilego, and Regirock can deal with Triage and Aerilate sets under Sand Stream. Worth mentioning.

Good Job, just fix a few things. Will get back to you on Specs Ray getting its own set.

Oh sorry I didn't see this coming to a seperate post.
I finished the majority of the implementation. For some parts where I couldn't understand or have doubt about your QC I put the questions below:
For Overall Analysis

1. While one QC suggested to remove Contrary set, you QC'd it. Do you wish to keep the Contrary set or move it to OO?

For Triage set

1. Shall I put the physical triage set in OO?
2. Not really sure how Solgaleo can wall Triage Mray as it almost always has Moongeist Beam. I have mentioned Registeel somewhere at the top but I'm not sure what other Steel-type Pokemon are hard counter to Mray. I understand that Solgaleo usually runs AV but it's still pretty unreliable as a Mray check. +3 252 SpA Life Orb Rayquaza-Mega Moongeist Beam vs. +1 252 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Solgaleo: 343-406 (71.7 - 84.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

For Other Options

1. I didn't understand why you striked out the Choice Scarf Aerilate set. Was it by mistake? Or is there another reason? Because this set got nothing to do with EV system change in BH imo.

QY_CS Ok so I talked with rest of QC and this is what we concluded to:

1) Contrary deserves its own set. Following this moveset:

Rayquaza-Mega @ Leftovers / Focus Sash (Life Orb mention in Set Details)
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Draco Meteor
- V-create
- Spore / Oblivion Wing / Superpower
- Substitute / Spore (only for sash)

Mention Scarf variant of this set in OO

2) Add Drain Punch in moves on Traige set, Mixed Triage is suprisingly useful and helps beat certain checks to the set more reliably (mega Ttar and Registeel mainly).

3) Merge both Specs and Mixed Aerilate sets together. Generally they would be seperated, but since Mega Ray has many various sets, we felt that it would be better just to place the two together. They both generally share the same team members and usage tips.

4) Add Tough Claws Choice Band in OO

With these changes the set order should be as followed:
  • Traige
  • Aerilate
  • Contrary
  • DazzleSmash
Let us know if you have any other questions/concerns.

Also FYI, remove mentions of Innards Out

Looks pretty good!
I just wanted to move my old AM QC over here, in case you forgot to implement them. But I agree with other QC members overall so take a look if you want.

Flying type also gives Mega Rayquaza immunity to Sticky Web, which is extremely important for an attacker. It also make it immune to passive damage by Spikes and Toxic Spikes and ground type attacks bar thousand arrows. Maybe adding that those types are common -ate types will help reader understand the metagame better? It also leaves Mega Rayquaza weak to Stealth Rock, limiting the times it can switch in. Not resisting any -ate abilities makes it vulnerable to priorities for some sets.
- Mega Rayquaza has lost the priority boost from Gale Wings when not at full health, making physical Gale Wings set no more viable. However the special Gale Wing set can be replaced with Triage which give it a even better +3 priority.
- Mega Rayquaza gained access to Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam in Gen 7, which helps it easily break through Unaware walls.
- Imposter is a great threat to Mega Rayquaza, as it has no viable sets to beat Imposter bar Substitute. I mentioned something like this and QC team said there is no need, since this applies to all attackers or setup sweepers in the tier. I think just mentioning about improof-'mon in your team is already sufficient. Remove.
This applies to any other sweepers as well. Unaware users or the likes of Zygarde-C can survive various types of attacks. Just mention this in Checks & Counters.

=== Triage ===
Rayquaza-Mega @ Safety Goggles / Life Orb
Ability: Triage
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Oblivion Wing
- Tail Glow
- Moongeist Beam
- Spore / Substitute

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

- Oblivion Wing is a must in order for the set to function, giving Mega Rayquaza a strong +3 priority STAB attack when pared with Triage, which gives it ability to easily revenge kill threats as well as making it extremely hard to revenge kill Mega Rayquaza. It also heals Mega Rayquaza decently every time it hits, extending the time Mega Rayquaza can suivive in battles, lengthening the longevity of Rayquaza throughout the battle. It also easily nullifies the Life Orb recoil by healing itself.
- Tail Glow is necessary to boost Mega Rayquaza's special attack to pierce through walls.
- Moongeist Beam is used to hit through Unaware walls as well as proving an excellent coverage with its Flying STAB. And it hits Sturdy Shedinja.
- Spore can be used to gain opportunity to set-up, while Substitute is used to prevent Imposter users from copying its stats and Prankster users that resist Flying STAB to use moves such as Topsy-Turvy.

Set Details
========

- Maximum Spe and SpA investment along with Timid let it move before other Mega Rayquaza which does not have Spe fully invested as well as maximising the damage output. It also lets it outspeed Mega Diancie so that it does not take Fake Out damage.
- Triage is used to let Mega Rayquaza hit at a +3 priority with Oblivion Wing.
- Safety Goggles is used to prevent being affected by Spore as well as ignoring the consequence if its own Spore is bounced back.
- Life Orb can be an alternative option to hit harder, and has little drawbacks due to Oblivion Wing healing Mega Rayquaza quickly. Mention that Life Orb set can be less improof since the Rayquaza will be vulnerable to its Imposter's Spore.

Usage Tips
========

- Be careful of the pokemon that has massive HP movepoolstat. If Mega Rayquaza is a wincon for yousignificant win factor for your team, don't kill these pokemon in a blowrefrain from aggressively attacking unless you have scouted and are sure they do not have Innards Out.
- Make sure Stealth Rock is on opponents side before sweeping as Focus Sash can ruin your plan.
Remove. This applies to every sweepers. You mentioned this in Team Options.

========

In return they can take down a threatening pokemon that Mega Rayquaza cannot kill, for example Contrary V-Create uers.Innards Out can be beneficial to anyone of its ally.
- Fast attackers such as Choice Scarf Primal Kyogre and Pheromosa can take down fast attackers that are under Psychic Terrain or has Dazzling/Queenly Majesty.

=== Aerilate ===
Rayquaza-Mega @ Safety Goggles / Sky Plate
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Fake Out / Techno Blast
- Extreme Speed
- Boomburst / Techno Blast
- Moongeist Beam / Spore / King's Shield

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

- Fake Out is used for breaking Focus Sashes, Illusions as well as dealing chip damage usually without punishment.
- King's Shield can be used instead to scout opponents moves and punish them with an attack stat drop if they use a contact move.
However it should be used with Safety Goggles to prevent being bounced back.You mentioned this in Set Details.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

- Aerilate Mega Rayquaza has lost some of its power in Gen7 due to the -ate abilities being nerfed.I did something similar to this in my own analysis and UselessCrab said we are not supposed to talk about Generational Shifts. It is best used as a scouting pokemon and revenge killer rather than relying on the power of boomburst and try to be a wallbreaker.
- Be aware of Stealth Rocks! Unlike Triage Mega Rayquaza which can somehow heal itself, Aerilate Mega Rayquaza has no way to heal its HP, make it even more vulnerable to passive damage.
- When you are trying to finish off a target, be aware that it may have Dazzling / Queenly Majesty with them. Failure to execute priority move can bring dire consequences and give an opponent a free turn to scout or set up. If you are not sure about what abilities it has and Mega Rayquaza is a pokemon you cannot afford to lose in the battle, use another pokemon to pick it off.
- It is necessary to have a pokemon that hard counters your Mega Rayquaza set in your team as itself is not Imposterproof. Such as any Steel type supports like Registeel that is capable in taking both Aerilated attacks and coverage move from Rayquaza.

Team Options
========

- Set up attackers appreciates Mega Rayquaza's ability to take down strong attackers and force opponents to switch, giving them a free turn to set up if predicted correctly.

=== Contrary ===
Rayquaza-Mega @ Life Orb / Expert Belt
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- V-create
- Superpower
- Draco Meteor / Leaf Storm
- Sunsteel Strike / Gear Grind / Oblivion Wing

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

- V-create is the what makes this set powerful, giving Mega-Rayquaza a boost in both defenses so it can take some hits as well as letting it have a fantastic 180 Base Power fire coverage move.
- Superpower gives Mega Rayquaza fighting type coverage as well as boosting both its attack and defense stat.
- Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm gives Mega Rayquaza a way to deal with physical walls, namely Zygarde-C and Mega Swampert.
- Sunsteel Strike and Gear Grind are both used for Fairy types that otherwise would be able to take hits and KO back with their super effective STAB move. Sunsteel Strike has the advantage of hitting through Fur Coat and Unaware users that take little from its other attacks and hitting Sturdy Shedinja, while Gear Grind breaks possible Focus Sashes. Wouldn't Dual Chop be better overall? Unless you are afraid of Fairy, I suggest to change this.
- Oblivion Wing gives Mega Rayquaza ability to heal itself as well as giving it a Flying STAB.

Set Details
========

- Maximum Atk, Spe and a speed boosting nature is given to maximize its damage output. Naive is used over Hasty to let it take priorities better.
- Life Orb is used to boosts its damage, however Expert Belt can be used instead if you dislike it taking recoil damage.
- Contrary makes the set powerful, as all these high base power moves it uses can now also boost its stats.

Keep this in mind. Naive nature allows Rayquaza to OHKO its own Imposter with Draco Meteor after a single Contrary boost from Draco Meteor. If you wish to make the speed tie as safe as possible add Choice Scarf, it is still threatening that way. But even if you add Choice Scarf, the team still needs Unaware wall to check Imposter because Draco Meteor has imperfect accuracy.

Usage Tips
========

This 'mon needs improofing support. Do not send this guy out unless the Imposter is gone or your Unaware wall is healthy enough to check Rayquaza's Imposter.

Switch in from slow U-turns or Parting Shots from allies.
- This set needs some time to set up and does not appreciate Prankster status moves that
can often destroy it easily. Therefore, it is best to remove all Prankster pokemon before bring it in.
- Innards Out is a great stop to this set, therefore it is also recommended to take these pokemon down before sweeping. However, Mega Rayquaza can use some moves that are weak to the Innards Out pokemon before it kills them to avoid the OHKO from their ability.Remove.
- Mega Rayquaza has advantage against and can surprise Dazzling / Queenly Majesty pokemon that come up to wall it as they usually expect it to use priority. Therefore it can fit into a team that rely a lot on priorities.

Team Options
========

- Pivots that can counter set up sweepers such as Registeel and Mega Audino work great with Mega Rayquaza as they can easily let Mega Rayquaza be in favorable matchups. Some of them have moves such as Glare to let Mega Rayquaza set up before getting hit, while some of them can use Defog or Rapid Spin to clear the rocks and minimize the chip damage Mega Rayquaza takes when entering the field.
- Priority users appreciates the ability Mega Rayquaza has to pressure Dazzling /Queenly Majesty pokemon. In return, they can pressure strong attackers and give Mega Rayquaza chances to set up against opposing defensive pokemon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options

========

- Choice Specs Aerilate Mega Rayquaza is an extremely strong wallbreaker that can pierce through almost everything with appropriate coverage moves, notably Focus BlastSecret Sword, Moongeist Beam and Earth Power, or simply an insanely strong Boomburst. However, it will be locked into a move every time it switches in and chooes, forcing it to switch out most of the time. It would also need the player to be really good at predicting in order to hit hard.
- Judgement along with an appropriate type of Plate allows Mega Rayquaza to hit pokemon that otherwise walls it such as Aegislash and Registeel while still being able to wall Imposter users using these pokemon. Make an example, such as Sky Plate with Judgment / Moongeist Beam / Quiver Dance / filler. Keep in mind walling Imposter is going to be hard without Icicle Plate or Draco Plate.
- A Quick Feet set can be used to counter quicker pokemon immune to priority and prevent Imposter from beating it, however the set does not have access to priority and is vulnerable to it.

Checks and Counters
========

**Dazzling/Queenly Majesty/Psychic Terrrain**: Pokemon with these abilities or under the affects Psychic Terrain are immune to Mega Rayquaza's priority attacks and can set-up or deal massive damage if the team lacks a switch-in for it.
**Prankster**: Prankster users can invert Mega Rayquaza's boost using Topsy-Turvy, steal its stat boosts with Heart Swap or cripple it with status. Topsy-Turvy is significantly less viable in this Gen because anti-priority blocks it. Mention Prankster Haze which is much more widely used.
**Innards Out**: Innards Out users are greats threats to Mega Rayquaza as they can bring it down when Mega Rayquaza KO's them. However, they have to be wary of Mega Rayquaza lowering its HP to a safe range before killing it.
**Defensive Steel Types**: Defensive Steel type pokemon such as Registeel and Aegislash can tank its STAB, usually survive a coverage and cripple Mega Rayquaza with status move or Metal Burst. However, it is not easy to take a hit from Mega Rayquaza if it is already boosted. They are also threatened by coverage moves such as Moongeist Beam or Earth Power.
**Mega Diancie**: Mega Diancie both resists Flying type attacks, Mega Rayquaza's main STAB type, and is immune to its Dragon STAB.
**Any -ate users with Type advantage**
**Spectral Thief**: Spectral Thief users that can survive a hit can steal Mega Rayquaza's boosts and utilize it. However they can often be KO'd by the following priority move if they don't have a way to defend it.
**Sturdy Shedinja**: Sturdy Shedinja can be a problem for certain variants of Mega Rayquaza due to its ability to take all direct attacks. However it does have to be aware of possible moves Mega Rayquaza brought to KO it, making it rely on prediction.
You have Sunsteel Strike / Moongeist Beam in every set.

Mega Ray in general can run so many sets and I would add Choice Band / Choice Specs sets with Tough Claws / Stakeout / Adaptability in Other Options.
Also add sprite of that ray

Looks pretty good!
I just wanted to move my old AM QC over here, in case you forgot to implement them. But I agree with other QC members overall so take a look if you want.

Remove.
This applies to any other sweepers as well. Unaware users or the likes of Zygarde-C can survive various types of attacks. Just mention this in Checks & Counters.

=== Triage ===
Rayquaza-Mega @ Safety Goggles / Life Orb

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Oblivion Wing
- Tail Glow
- Moongeist Beam
- Spore / Substitute

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

=== Aerilate ===
Rayquaza-Mega @ Safety Goggles / Sky Plate
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Fake Out / Techno Blast
- Extreme Speed
- Boomburst / Techno Blast
- Moongeist Beam / Spore / King's Shield

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

- Fake Out is used for breaking Focus Sashes, Illusions as well as dealing chip damage usually without punishment.
- King's Shield can be used instead to scout opponents moves and punish them with an attack stat drop if they use a contact move.
However it should be used with Safety Goggles to prevent being bounced back.You mentioned this in Set Details.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

- Set up attackers appreciates Mega Rayquaza's ability to take down strong attackers and force opponents to switch, giving them a free turn to set up if predicted correctly.

=== Contrary ===
Rayquaza-Mega @ Life Orb / Expert Belt
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- V-create
- Superpower
- Draco Meteor / Leaf Storm
- Sunsteel Strike / Gear Grind / Oblivion Wing

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

This 'mon needs improofing support. Do not send this guy out unless the Imposter is gone or your Unaware wall is healthy enough to check Rayquaza's Imposter.

========

========

- A Quick Feet set can be used to counter quicker pokemon immune to priority and prevent Imposter from beating it, however the set does not have access to priority and is vulnerable to it.

Checks and Counters
========

**Dazzling/Queenly Majesty/Psychic Terrrain**: Pokemon with these abilities or under the affects Psychic Terrain are immune to Mega Rayquaza's priority attacks and can set-up or deal massive damage if the team lacks a switch-in for it.

Also add sprite of that ray
oh forgot to ask u, how to add sprite?

Current status: Implemented second QC check and reformatted into paragraphs with some slight tweak. Waiting for 3rd QC.

[OVERVIEW]

With stellar attack stats at 180 "with a stellar 180 in both attack stats" makes it more obvious that you're talking about both stats and rapid Speed at 115, Mega Rayquaza is one of the most diverse offensive Pokemon in Balanced Hackmons that can serve as either a set up sweeper, revenge killer, late game cleaner, wallbreaker or multiple roles combined in one saying this here makes it seem like only stats is what makes it good, it's a combination of everything (stat / type / abilities that synergise well / moves that synergies well) you need to talk about that before saying that, not after. Mega Rayquaza can utilize its amazing Dragon/Flying typing that allows it to use powerful STAB attacks that pair with some of the best offensive abilities in game, such as Triage, Aerilate and Contrary there are a few other things to note, it pairs well with core and owing which are really good moves, flying is a really good offensive typing have little resists, and every resist being hit by ground while every ground resist is hit by flying (assuming arrows) also ray being a dragon can threaten out all the dragons in the tier which defensively represents some major mons. Defensively, Mega Rayquaza's well rounded 105/100/100 bulk pared with it's awesome typing allows it to soft check on two extremely threatening Pokemon in Balanced Hackmons, Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre ray doesn't really check ogre, what's also worth noting is that ray resists uturn which makes uturn chip negligeable.

However, such a strong Pokemon still has its limitations. The newly introduced abilities in Gen7, most notably Dazzling, Queenly Majesty, and Psychic Surge blocks Mega Rayquaza's priority attacks, which severly hinders it from functioning mainly as a priority abuser limiting ray to mainly wallbreaking roles. The good old don't say goold old Imposter Chansey still poses a great threat to Mega Rayquaza, as it has only limited ways to beat its bulkier self.

most notable flaws is that the typing is lackluster defensively, rocks weakness is a huge pain, weak to pixy is a pain as it's rk by diancie, ice coverage has becomes more common which ray doesn't appreciate, almost every wall runs core enforecer which not only hits ray super effectively but also in the case of aerilate making him unable to 2hko some mons like gira and other

also worth mentioning is that all of what you said at the beginning makes ray unpredictable as it can hit on both sides of the spectrum and has different checks depending on the set

move aerilate first

Moves

Oblivion Wing is a must in order for the set to function, giving Mega Rayquaza a strong +3 priority STAB attack when pared with Triage, mention that it outspeed espeed and slower fake out which gives it ability to easily revenge kill threats as well as making it extremely hard to revenge kill Mega Rayquaza. It also heals Mega Rayquaza decently every time it hits, extending the time Mega Rayquaza can suivive in battles making ray really hard to wear down and negating lo / sub damage. It also easily nullifies the Life Orb recoil by healing itself. Tail Glow is the primary set up option to boost Mega Rayquaza's special attack high enough to pierce through walls, while Shell Smash is an alternative option that allows Mega Rayquaza to outspeed common Dazzling / Queenly Majesty users such as Deoxys-Attackdeo-a isn't common anymore. Moongeist Beam is used to hit through Unaware walls as well as proving an excellent coverage with its Flying STABalso beats shedinja. Drain Punch can be used on Shell Smash sets to provide a physical fighting coverage at +3 priority which can let Mega Rayquaza deal with pokemon such as Registeel and Mega Tyranitarsecret sword also has great coverage alongside ownig as it hits steel types and rock types such as ttar. Spore is used to gain opportunity to set-upmostly on regenvest walls as they can't pack goggles and are a common ray switching,, while Substitute is used to prevent Imposter users from copying its stats and Prankster users that resist Flying STAB to use moves such as Topsy-Turvyalso prevents revenge killing and gives ray more setup opportunities.

Set Details
========

Minimum Atk along with Timid let it move before other Mega Rayquaza minimun atk isn't what lets it move before other ray, poorly wordedwhich does not have a Speed boosting nature as well as minimizing the damage taken from extremely rare Foul Play In the Shell Smash Drain Punch set, Naive and Maximum Atk should be used over Timid in order to not lose Physical attack power. It also lets it outspeed Mega Diancie so that it does not take Fake Out damageand doesn't boomburst through sub on the resisted owing.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Rayquaza is capable of doing multiple roles, however its Stealth Rock weakness makes it easily wore down. I disagree, this set can afford more chip damage as it heals it off easily, but it is better left end game to clean when counters have been weakened Reserve it and try not to let it take damage even if it can take it. Use Oblivion Wing when possible to ensure Mega Rayquaza stay healthy. Be aware of the common Dazzling/Queenly Majesty and Psychic Terrain users including but not limited to Deoxys-Attackdon't mention deo-a, Mega Mewtwo Y and Yveltal, which will stop your Oblivion Wing from working. Make sure Stealth Rock is on opponents side before sweeping as Focus Sash can ruin your plan. The last common weakness is that Mega Rayquaza is extremely hard to stop without stopping the priority, and this would become huge threat once copied by Imposter. Therefore it is best to remove the Imposter pokemon in opponent's team before setting up or have a solid switch-in such as Dazzling / Queenly Majesty / Unaware pokemon to counter it.give examples of way to bait and beat imposter and mons that can improof, also say that opposing imposter should be weakened or baited and mention how

Team Options
========

Poison Heal set up users such as Regigigas and Primal Kyogre appreciate the ability Mega Rayquaza has to take down powerful attackers huh, ray is a late game cleaner if anything, ray appreciates regigigas weakening mons and especially spreading knock off to get rid of goggles (mention koff support). In return they can absorb status for Mega Rayquaza. In return they can take down a threatening pokemon that Mega Rayquaza cannot kill, for example Contrary V-Create uers. Fast attackers such as Choice Scarf Primal Kyogre and Pheromosa can take down fast attackers that are under Psychic Terrain or has Dazzling/Queenly Majesty.

some of that is worded weirdly, go through it again

Moves
========

Specs and sky plate don't really run the same moves so it's sorta separated, I hope you don't mind if I redo this paragraph based on changes.

"Aerilate boosted Boomburst is Rayquaza's strongest stab, allowing it to immediately threaten almost any pokemon that does not resist it with an OHKO or 2HKO. The Combination of Fake out and Extremespeed provides Rayquaza with valuable priority, turning it into a powerful revenge killer that can check most offensive pokemon and non immune set up sweepers. King's Shield is a useful alternative to Fake Out as it helps it live opposing priority moves such as Extremespeed from Refrigerate Kyurem-B. Precipice Blades is a fantastic complementary coverage move with Boomburst as it can hit Steel types and Rock types that resist Flying for super effective damage. Thousand Arrows can also be used to hit levitating pokemons and Celesteela, but the loss in power makes it a generally subpar option unless Rayquaza is running a Life Orb. Rayquaza can also opt to run a Choice Specs set for further wallbreaking potential, in which case priority is foregone for additional coverage. Techno Blast is invaluable on the Choice Specs set as without it Rayquaza would be walled by Soundproof users, Techno Blast is run alongside Boomburst and not instead of Boomburst as it has less power and significantly less PP which makes it a far less reliable Stab move. Moongeist Beam and Secret Sword are both great coverage options for Rayquaza, Moongeist beam being able to 2HKO Aegislash-Shield as well as RegenVest Solgaleo after Stealth Rocks. Moongeist Beam's secondary effect also allows Rayquaza to get rid of Sturdy Shedinja. Secret Sword hits Steel Types and Rock types such as Registeel and Tyranitar-Mega for super effective damage and pairs really well with Moongeist Beam. Either of theses moves can also be replaced with Volt Switch, which allows Rayquaza to keep up momentum as well as scout for and weaken its potential counters. Volt Switch also pairs really well with Magnet Pull support as the Magnet Pull teammate can be sent in safely after Volt Switch without worrying about the opponent pivoting out. However, Volt Switch does have the negative effect of giving Imposter Chansey momentum if it were to Imposter Rayquaza."

Set Details
========

Naive Nature allows it to outspeed Mega Diancie as it is the other most common fast -ate ability user as well as taking less priority move damage. modest is p decent on specs sets as you outspeed everything up to positive base 100 (included) and secure some OHKOs / 2HKOs such as regigigas, xerneas, chansey and can 2hko registeel after rocks. but you lose more easily to diancie Aerilate is used to grant flying STAB to Normal-type attacks boomburst, espeed and fakeout as well as boosting their power. Sky Plate is used to maximise damage output without losing the ability to change moves or suffering recoil damage. Safety Goggles can be used instead to prevent Spore from crippling Mega Rayquaza as well as preventing it to take weather damage. If bringing Spore, Mega Rayquaza also does not have to be careful with opposing Magic Bounce pokemon, and while Choice Specs is used to grant a power boost for special moves, allowing it to deal immense damage to most Pokemon if you have any specific examples of most that it OHKOs / 2HKOs....

Usage Tips
========

Aerilate Mega Rayquaza has lost some of its power in Gen7 due to the -ate abilities being nerfed Don't talk about gen shifts in analyses. It is best used as a scouting pokemon and revenge killer rather than relying on the power of boomburst and try to be a wallbreaker Completely disagree, rayquaza has lost most of its revenge killing capabilities but it's almost just as effective as a wallbreaker. The new factors Dazzling, Queenly Majesty and Psychic Terrain also limits its ability to serve as a revenge killer against faster threatsthat's not a usage tip? relate that to something. When pared with Choice Specs, Mega Rayquaza should be brought in often against pokemon that lacks offensive presence to deal as much damage as possibleor more often than not against anything that it OHKOs / forces out such as don / xern / audino etc. Most defensive mons run uturn so it's good to go via a pivot or on a predicted recovery move, on a mon that you know is packing defog / rocks. In most cases, Boomburst is the primer choice when attacking as it often deals more damage than an appropriate coverage move which is very important to keep in mindboomburst is also safer than redicting as most switchins will have to waste a turn recovering meaning that ray doesn't lose momentum by failing a predicting, scout for regenvest especially steel types as they get free momentum on ray, predict aggresively if you can afford it (if you're in front of an audino that can't do shit to you you don't lose much) or double on something that can take advantage of such regenvest mon (setup gigas or don or smt idk) this is also why volt switch is a good move. Volt switch also weakens non regen switchins such as registeel that can be 2hkod after prior damage or rocks. Be aware of Stealth Rocks as Aerilate Mega Rayquaza has no way to heal its HP, make it even more vulnerable to passive damage and limits the amount of times it can afford to switchinworth mentionning that ray can live diancie espeed at full so keeping ho is important, also it allows him to live core enforcer from mons like zyggy. When you are trying to finish off a target, be aware that it may have Dazzling / Queenly Majesty with them. If you are not sure about what abilities it has and Mega Rayquaza is a pokemon you cannot afford to lose in the battle, use another pokemon to pick it off. It is necessary to have a pokemon that hard counters your Mega Rayquaza set in your team as itself is not Imposterproof. keep the improofing in team options Some Physical defensive Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro and Mega Audino can run Soundproof to wall Mega Rayquaza and trap it with their own moves if Mega Rayquaza is bringing Boomburst over Techno Blast, scout for soundprood early game or try to spot it from team preview (a slowbro on a diancie/ray weak team that already has a don answer for example), if you have techno it's pretty safe otherwise never stay in until you know they have no trapping move.

Team Options
========

Registeel is a great teammate of Mega Rayquaza as it can block opposing Imposter pokemon copying Mega Rayquaza from punching holes in the teamdepending on chosen coverge. . When not using Moongeist Beam, Aegislash can also be an option to replace Registeelaegislash also takes fighting coverage that you might wish to run. They both resist and can take common attacking types Mega Rayquaza is weak to such as Ice, Dragon and Fairymostly from kyuremB and diancie that check ray, and they can pivot on core enforcer which is super common. Regenvest switchins are good against chansey as you don't lose momentum by recovering. Pivots with Defog / Rapid Spin and / or Magic Bounce such as Giratina only magic bounce isn't a good way to keep hazards off, you should insist on packing hazard removal if you want to keep ray healthy can prevent Stealth Rocks from being on players field as well as bringing Mega Rayquaza in with a slow pivot move, therefore minimizing the damage Mega Rayquaza need to take. Set up sweepers such as Mega Mewtwo Y, Primal Kyogre, and Regiggigas appreciates Mega Rayquaza's ability to take down strong attackers and force opponents to switch, giving them a free turn to set up if predicted correctly.soundproof worth mentioning for improofing. Groudon usually pairs really well with ray as it checks diancie and kills steel types.

You should prob talk about magpull support + voltswitch at some point in usgae tips and team option

- Substitute / Spore

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is the primary STAB for Mega Rayquaza that allows it to hit extremely hard while boosting it's Special Attack. V-create boosts Mega Rayquaza's defenses and speed, making it hard to take downmostly used to outspeed mmy. Oblivion Wing is an alternative option to give Mega Rayquaza a method of recoverygood if you run life orb (which you should slash). Superpower can be used to hit specially defensive Rock-type pokemon such as Mega Tyranitar with super effective damage as well as providing a method to boost its Attack. Substitute can be used to prevent Imposter from copying itself, block status from affecting it as well as blocking Topsy-Turvy.also really good to use against uturn mons as it doesn't break sub, gives ray setup opportunities

Set Details
========

Naive nature grants Mega Rayquaza a boost in speed and lets it set up against slower Pokemon, keep its power and lets it take minimal damage from priority moves. Leftovers grant Mega Rayquaza passive recoverygood with sub, while Focus Sash lets it take a hit when at full HPgood against imposter. Life Orb can be used to boost it's damage, however it is not as useful due to the recoil damage and Mega Rayquaza being to boost it's offense easilynah, life orb alows ray to 2hkos some unaware mons like audino and gyarados that it otherwise couldn't, you can also run rash + lo to OHKO giratina / zygarde before they core enforcer you. Contrary makes the set powerful, as all these high base power moves it uses can now also boost its stats.contrary is what allows ray to use high powered move without suffering the drawback and while being increasingly harder to tank / check.

Usage Tips
========

Do not bring it in too many times when Stealth Rock is present, as the chip damage cripples Mega Rayquaza a lot. Try to minimize the times you bring Mega Rayquaza in when it is unlikely to set up and sweep. Also keep in mind that yhis set is frail and relatively weak when not setted up yetnot really, it can actually bait steel types quite well and still threatens out dragons. Send Mega Rayquaza in only when against a pokemon that lacks offensive presenceor on something that it forces out so you get a free sub. Be aware of potential Unaware walls as they can easily wall Mega Rayquaza not running Sunsteel Strike / Moongeist Beam.choose wisely what move to click every turn, it's often beneficial to click draco on a registeel to gain a boost while it can't damage you, or similarly take out weakened mon with v-create so that the mmy in the back can't rk you. try to put ray in an optimal setup situation as pp is limited and regen cores can waste them fast. Removing imposter is hugely beneficial for this set.

Team Options
========

Pivots that can counter set up sweepers such as Prankster Registeel and Unaware Tapu Finiunaware tapu fini isn't really a thing, it's usually fur coat work great with Mega Rayquaza as they can easily let Mega Rayquaza be in favorable matchupsI don't really know what you mean by that. They can also help you shouldn't say "they help" on this set more than the other, imposterproofing is imperative and you need a good, reliable way to stop imposterwall Imposter users that had grabbed Mega Rayquaza's boosts. Priority users such as Mega Diancie, Kyurem-Black and Zekrom can pressure and force out Pokemon that outspeed Mega Rayquaza such as Mega Mewtwo Y. Defensive Fairy-type Pokemon such as Fur Coat Tapu Fini and Unaware Mega Audino can not only counter Imposters that copied Mega Rayquaza but also counter Mega Rayquaza itselfaudino countering rayquaza?. It is recommended to bring Pokemon that can counter these counters, such as Steelworker Kartana and Dialga.

review this section dude, it's questionable

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
========

Pokemon such as Yveltal and Marshadow marshadow is bad are much better Pokemons to utilize this set. Choice Scarf is a great item when pared with Contrary, as it allows Mega Rayquaza to spam its powerful attack at a greater speed. It can also beat Imposter that try to copy it's stats, and can cripple defensive switchins by using trick.but it's super risky due to the prevalence of scarf imposter

Checks and Counters
========

There's quite a few changes since the meta evolved a lot with ev limit break. I had issues with formatting this as my internet went down and it reverted to a prior version or smt. Anyway implement what you agree with, message me about what you don't, message me about what you don't understand and uh, I'll check again when you're done cause there's quite a few changes, good work tho.

Also I'm just saying cause I see ppl do that a lot, when I say you should add something, add it to the paragraph in a way that makes sense, don't awkwardly slap it at the end of the sentence.

QY_CS are you still working on this?
Yes, apparently motherlove didn't respond to my questions so I will post it here instead... Can you answer them?

first of all, i never knew there would be another pokemon who can utilize 8 different sets and make them viable in bh xD so i wouldnt say one of

second of all, i'm tryin to explain y mega rayquaza is important after stating its roles, bcoz according to everyone else the first sentence should only be a brief summary.

also, there's quite a bit of pkogyres that only brings water stab...

priorities mainly target other attackers, it would not be super effective against walls imho

triage is definitely the dominate set of mega rayquaza imo, especially after the aerilate nerf

I'll be honest with you, I've got no clue what any of that means. In any case, I'll look over this and give a more up to date QC check later

Banned deucer.
You haven't provided context... I can kinda see why scarfnaut couldnt understand what you said.

This is an incomplete sentence, and I will just assume you are saying that because Mega Rayquaza's ability to run 8+ sets, you cannot decide which ones are the most relevant for analysis (Although I would strongly insist on Aerilate / Triage / Contrary)

If you are talking about the very first sentence of your overview, no, it is not an appropriate summary. I am not saying it is incorrect in terms of content, you need more than a single sentence. For example, you haven't mentioned how Mega Rayquaza is the stongest user of Aerilate unmatched by any other Flying-types (which is proven from your point about having 180 stat on dual offenses), is the strongest Core Enforcer user (such as with Tinted Lens, it can do immense damage to Steel-types on switch while nullifying potentially problematic abilities such as Prankster), and most importantly, causes sheer amount of unpredictability which pressures any kind of teams; Stall is pressured from any setup variants with Substitute (most commonly on Triage and sometimes on Contrary), Balance team is pressured by Choice Specs + Aerilate Boomburst, and Hyper offense teams are susceptible to fakespeed sets if no psychic terrain is active.
also, there's quite a bit of pkogyres that only brings water stab...
No, Primal Kyogre always carries something other than Scald or Revelation Dance, and if it is just one attacking move that is Water-type, it is just irrelevant variant.
Also I think you are trying to say "Some Primal Kyogre variants only carry Water-type moves as an attack move, allowing Mega Rayquaza to setup on it". This is / was / never will be true. Even the most passive form of Regenvest set discourages Mega Rayquaza from setting stuff like Tail Glow or Shell Smash because it carries Spectral Thief 95+% of the time, and commonly regenvest Ogre carries Core Enforcer to check Special PH sweepers.
Poison Heal Kyogre always carry Ice Beam or Moonblast as a sub-weapon.
priorities mainly target other attackers, it would not be super effective against walls imho
You are apparently saying "Fake Out + Extremespeed Aerilate Rayquaza doesn't do good job against walls, it is for revenge killing". While this isn't incorrect, Mega Ray can use its 180 SpAtk to just carry Boomburst to smack physical walls, while it can also run Precipice Blades or V-Create to smack ever-so-common steel-types, or even run U-turn to bring in Magnet Pull users or to keep momentum.
triage is definitely the dominate set of mega rayquaza imo, especially after the aerilate nerf
I disagree with this.
Triage requires a turn to set up, a turn to use Substitute to keep Imposter from transforming or to keep yourself away from Spore, while Aerilate has significantly more immediate power.
Triage is also the set that forces the user to run Unaware wall or use their own Imposter (which will be damaged in the process) to imposterproof, which makes the team archetype quite predictable for opponent. Also, even running Substitute on the set is not going to keep it safe from Imposter because if opponent can sacrifice 5 'mons to break sub and let Chansey countersweep after transforming to +6 Rayquaza, they will do it.

I'll be honest with you, I've got no clue what any of that means. In any case, I'll look over this and give a more up to date QC check later
Yeh, ^^^^^^^ was kinda vague, i feel yah
