Sneasler @ Psychic Seed
Level: 50
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 124 HP / 76 Atk / 180 Def / 12 SpD / 116 Spe
Tera Type: Flying / Ghost
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Dire Claw
- Close Combat
- Shadow Claw / Acrobatics

Psychic Seed allows Sneasler to blossom into one of the best cleaners in Battle Stadium Singles! Not only does consuming Psychic Seed double Sneasler's Speed, letting it outspeed Pokemon such as Booster Energy Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle, it also grants a Special Defense boost, allowing Sneasler to stand up to some of the strongest special attackers in the format, such as Flutter Mane. Tera Flying boosts Acrobatics, makes Sneasler immune to Ground-type attacks, and allows it to set up on Choice-locked Landorus-T. Tera Ghost makes Sneasler immune to Extreme Speed, notably letting it beat Dragonite. Dire Claw is a very troublesome move that makes Sneasler incredibly difficult to switch in to, even for Pokemon that would otherwise wall it, such as Dondozo. Close Combat lets Sneasler deal with Steel-type Pokemon, such as Archaludon and Scizor.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that the SpDef boost from psychic seed allows Sneasler to “stand up” to blursa. It still takes pretty big damage from Bloodmoon and if it doesn’t tera Earth Power deletes it even with the slightest chip. Psychic seed allows it to trade blows with Iron Bundle and Flutter Mane to an extent but with 124/12 investment blursa is still bad news should it have to trade blows.

While Tera flying can absolutely improve the LandoT matchup, it by no means makes setup against it a given. LandoT’s most common set is the choice scarf variant iirc, which runs both rock tomb and Tera fly Tera blast, both of which are capable of threatening Sneasler post Tera. Specifying that it allows setup against LandoT locked into earthquake sounds small but it’s a crucial consideration as baiting said earthquake is extremely important should you plan to use Tera fly to flip the matchup with Lando.

Lastly, Kingambit really isn’t relevant in bss, so I don’t think it needs to be mentioned specifically. Archa and Scizor are definitely relevant targets but gambit is p rare and honestly a bit of a noob trap most of the time.

Dire Claw is a very troublesome move that makes Sneasler incredibly difficult to switch in to, even for Pokemon that would otherwise wall it, such as Dondozo. Close Combat lets Sneasler deal with the Steel-type Pokemon that are immune to Dire Claw, (changes in this sentence are optional but it's a little dex info-y) such as Archaludon and Scizor.
