Here we are at one of the last stages for Kerfluffle; welcome to Pokedex submissions! In this thread you may post your entries for critique and eventually submit them for the poll. Please read the following rules before doing so!:

Legal Pokedex submissions must meet the following standards
  • Pokedex Entries must have flawless grammar. Smogon has a Grammar & Prose team that will help identify mistakes.
  • Pokedex Entries cannot be longer than 25 words.
  • Pokedex Entries can only contain the following characters:
    • Letters A-Z
    • Numbers 0-9
    • Dash (-)
    • Apostrophe (')
    • Period (.)
    • Comma (,)
    • Colon (:)
    • Semi-colon (;)
    • Space

Work In Progress (WIP) Pokedex Entries can be posted at any time for comments from the community.

No more than three WIP Pokedex Entries can be posted by any individual person through the entire course of the submission thread. This limit applies to ALL posts made by a single person, even if previous posts are edited or deleted. This limit is intended to curb the tendency for some submitters to spam the thread repeatedly with multiple Pokedex Entries. This detracts from other submissions and makes it difficult for commenters to survey the submission thread.

Do not bump your WIP Pokedex Entries by posting them repeatedly, or making minor wording changes. Bumping will result in the disqualification of all Pokedex Entries by the offender. Editing or deleting bump posts will not prevent disqualification.

Only ONE Final Submission can be made per person.

Pokedex Entry Final Submissions can only be posted after a CAP Moderator posts in the thread that final submissions are open. Any final submission posted prior to the Moderator notification post, will disqualify the submitter from the poll entirely. Even if the offending post is edited later or deleted, the submitter will still be disqualified for the remainder of the thread. This ensures that all submitters have equal opportunity to post final submissions without anyone unfairly "jumping the gun".

Pokedex entries Final Submissions must posted exactly in the following format and in the following exact order:
  • The first line of the post must have the words "Final Submission" in bold on it's own line. No other text may be included before the bold heading.
  • A blank line
  • "<Pokemon Name>, the <Species Name> Pokemon", with the Pokemon name and the Species Name in bold
  • A blank line
  • The X Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "X/OR" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Y Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Y/AS" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
Below the Final Submission you can post other comments, explanations, etc.

Example final submission:

Final Submission

Victini, the Victory Pokémon

X/OR: This Pokémon brings victory. It is said that Trainers with Victini always win, regardless of the type of encounter.

Y/AS: When it shares the infinite energy it creates, that being’s entire body will be overflowing with power.
Any Final Submission that does not follow the proper format will be disqualified.

Have fun!

Concept:
Name: Last Act of Defiance

General Description: A Pokemon that is defined by its use of the move Parting Shot.

Justification: Parting Shot is another move that's pretty amazing on paper, but its true usage has yet to be fully explored because it's only available to Pangoro. Pangoro is not the most viable Pokemon OU and is nearly unusable in CAP due to its 4x weakness to Fairy. Moreover, when I've used it in RU (prior it to being banned) and UU, I found myself clicking an attacking move more often than not. With the optimal Parting Shot user in the CAP metagame, we may be able to tap into this move's potential and figure out how it is best utilized. Maybe Last Act of Defiance will be a fast Pokemon that aims to keep up offensive momentum. Maybe it'll use the move like it would use Memento to help a teammate use a boosting move. Maybe it'll be a slow, bulky pivot intended to discourage switching. Maybe it'll do something completely different.

This falls under both actualization and archetype in terms of being a concept. In terms of actualization, it will teach us how to use Parting Shot "properly." Clearly, no other Pokemon, not even Pangoro, comes close to it. Well, users of U-turn, Volt Switch, and Memento come somewhat close, but even then, we'll be able to see what makes Parting Shot different from (and possibly better than) them. In terms of archetype, Last Act of Defiance will give not just the CAP metagame, but also the whole game of Pokemon, a utility Pokemon that we've never seen before, as Parting Shot was not (and still isn't) one of Pangoro's most important assets. Because Parting Shot has so many potential uses, a utility Pokemon such as this can be the ultimate team player for offensive and defensive archetypes alike.

Questions To Be Answered:
- Whether it's pivoting, offensive momentum, Memento-esque support, or something else, what is the "ideal" way to use Parting Shot? Why?
- Considering Pangoro rarely finds the time to use the move, how much should a Pokemon be willing to sacrifice another offensive option for Parting Shot?
- What makes Parting Shot different or similar from Volt Switch, U-turn, and Memento?
- Pangoro is definitely not the ideal Parting Shot user, so what does the ideal user look like?
- What strategies, whether they be certain Pokemon, playstyles, or other factors, will rise to prominence to combat a Parting Shot user?

Y/AS: Kerfluffle loves to train with Revenankh, but even its pillow-clad blows can end up hurting its training partner.

HeaLnDeaL I love the references to fellow CAP mods, particularly sparktrain and cbrevan.

Yoshiblaze Your Y/AS entry has a lot of emotion to it, encouraging Trainers to be more cautious around the cotton combatant.

Kerfluffle,
the Stuffed Pokemon.

X/OR: Kerfluffle's body is very soft, resembling a pillow. If a Pokemon or person were to sleep on it though, then Kerfluffle would go into a rage and attack anything near it.

Y/AS: Kerfluffle's stuffing produces a strong aroma. It uses this aroma to attract nearby wild Pokemon so that it can attack them.

If there are any gramatical problems, please let me know ;D

Kerfluffle, the Pillow Fighter Pokemon

X/OR: Kerfluffle often hit other people and Pokemon with its pillow hands for its own amusement. They play with each other by hitting each other.

Kerfluffle; the Pillow-Fight Pokémon

X/OR: Toy manufacturers are often warned to exercise detail adjustment when designing plush versions of this Pokémon, as young children are frequently found in dangerous situations when confusing this powerful Pokémon for a toy.

Y/AS: One should always approach this Pokémon with the utmost caution--if it feels threatened, it can quickly knock out any and all offenders, "rewarding" them with horrifying nightmares through their unconsciousness.

On you're Y/AS submission since the pokedex never breaks the fourth wall I'd remove the watch out part

WIP
Kerfluffle,
the Stuffing Brain Pokemon

X/OR: Long ago Kerfluffle was presumed to be a golem of below average intelligence, but over the years it proved to have an intelligence rivaling that of Alakazam.

Y/AS: Despite scientific fact many trainers still view Kerfluffle as an idiotic creature. It takes advantage of this stereotype to launch a flurry of feather stuffed punches at the opponent.

On you're Y/AS submission since the pokedex never breaks the fourth wall I'd remove the watch out part
I feel like it would've been a funny little twist to add in. Also, part of the reason why I put that there was seeing something like that in another PokeDex entry, although, I could be misremembering

WIP

Kerfluffle
, the PillowFight Pokémon.

X/OR: It is thought to have arisen from a pillow bathed in mysterious rays. Its playful nature and pleasing scent incite others to frolic with it.

Y/AS: Able to dodge attacks with surprising speed, it is friendly but loves to roughhouse. Occasionally, its strange gestures may be mistaken for aggression.
