Famous people you have met 2.0

Back in March of 2017, I was visiting Washington DC to meet up with a good friend at George Washington University. While we were walking around "campus" (to say that GWU has a campus is kind of like saying Trump University is a real school), we ran into one of his friends who was telling us that Bill Gates was on the GWU campus (probably to talk about endowments to those universities or to talk to admissions for his 17-year-old son).

I later went to Georgetown University to drop off a letter of recommendation for one of my clients (I work as a college advisor/counselor on the side). As I was walking out of the Admissions office there, I see a golf cart drive up to the building, and low and behold, it was Bill Gates (getting a personal tour, of course). He was escorted into the admissions office. I managed to snap a quick photo of him before he acknowledged my presence and exchanged pleasantries. Because I was dressed in a button-down and pants, he thought I worked for the admissions office, which I informed him that I did not. After that mix-up, we just parted our separate ways. It wasn't really all that interesting, to be fair.

I'll attach a photo to this thread later once I find a way to attach it to here.

Bill Nye bought some stuff at my job a few weeks ago. The cashier ringing him up didn't know who he was and leaned over to ask me why everyone was staring at him. Didn't get to talk to him personally but it was pretty cool seeing him.

What did I buy?

I've met Pennsylvania senators David Argall and Bob Casey, as well as this wrestler (apparently) named Virgil who shows up at my local mall sometimes to ask for money.

Diophantine

I met Michael Ballack at the aquarium when he first moved to Chelsea FC :D
I met Dion Dublin at Reading Rock Festival (he is a friend of my dad). He's a really nice guy, and convinced me to get back into playing football (soccer) at competitive levels again.
Idris Elba and Paloma Faith live on my road, though I haven't spoken to them before.
I spoke to Ed Milliband when he came to give a speech at my school. Funny guy ahaaha.
I'm related to a semi-famous British actress and a famous British rock band member, though I'd rather not reveal who.

Update: I think I’m meeting Evan McMullin tomorrow. He was that never-trumper Mormon who did pretty well in Utah.

I made a dumb meme on facebook regarding a band I like and it blew up (30k views, 800 shares in one day) and the members of the bands have each individually seen it.

Does that count?

Met;

Ray Wilkins at a Football Tournament I played in (ex-England, Manchester United, Chelsea, AC Milan, PSG, Crystal Palace, QPR footballer and ex-Chelsea assistant manager)

Ray suffered a cardiac arrest about 2-3 days ago so thoughts go out to him right now

Scott Parker at Nando's (ex-England, Tottenham and Chelsea footballer)

Gary Cahill in Walton-upon-Thames (current England, Bolton and Chelsea footballer)

Peter Shilton at Wembley (ex-England and prime Nottingham Forest Goalkeeper)

Patrice Evra at a restaurant in Manchester (ex-France, Manchester United, Juventus footballer)

The entire 2006 Brentford FC squad if that counts

Kano at a festival (UK Grime artist)

Giggs at a festival (UK Grime artist)

Jason Manford in Manchester (UK Stand-up Comedian)

I also saw Stormzy at Thorpe Park but there were too many people around him to approach (UK Grime artist)

Being a United fan, meeting so many Spurs and Chelsea players wasnt great but Chelsea are my local team

My brother-in-law has solid connections with the University of Kentucky basketball team, and I got to meet Karl-Anthony Towns. Wasn't too big on basketball back then, but it was cool meeting a dude 7' tall. One of my favorite players now, would freak at the opportunity to meet him again.

I met Alec Baldwin in an LA sushi restaurant when I was around 8 years old. Of course I had no idea who he was at the time, but my parents did, and told me he was a big movie star. Me being the sassy 8 year old I was, turned to him and his young asian female friend and said “hi big movie star” and proceeded to continue eating. He laughed.

I live in Seattle, where Macklemore is from, and I’ve interacted with him and his wife when they went out to eat at a restaurant I used to work with. Nice guy, his wife less so, but perhaps it was because she was pregnant at the time.

There’s probably some others that I’m forgetting but nothing as memorable as the aforementioned.

I'm not sure how some of you would define "Famous", but I have a lot of eSports names on Discord. Skadoodle, Swag, Walshy, just to name a few. Kind of came about after rotating from a small MLG Skype group to a larger eSports exclusive discord.

Also, not sure if most people would define that as "meeting" them.

Met David Shaw, the Stanford Football head coach the other day. He was eating at a restaraunt in the shopping center across the street from my high school. I just was walking from CVS (bought some 5 gum lol) and he was chatting with someone at a table...

Speaking of that, I also met Bryce Love, The current Stanford RB, and a first team 2017 all-american

When I was in 5th grade I was in my school's basketball team. We were so bad that when we won a game they invited 2 players from the local basketball team "Fuerza Regia"

They gave an inspirational speech, bla bla bla, and they raffled an autographed basketball. I won it. I brought it to school the next day for practice and I spent the whole hour I was supposed to practice looking for it because someone stole it.

I also met Gabriel Chavez, a mexican voice actor. He was really kind, and when I told him that I was an artist he told me that he hoped to see my drawings in a museum one day. It doesn't sound like much but they only use like...10 people for all of the dubs so that's nice.

I meet Red Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield before a show. He was incredibly nice, even after I interrupted his conversation, and was willing to take a picture with me.

I've also met some miscellaneous Patriots players (Boston sports fan for life) at my church because the team chaplain attends my church and every now and again he preaches.
