Metagame Godly Gift

is zygarde banned because of its ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS hp or something

because oh boy clefable would be invincible with that

Zygarde was actually recently banned in OU, so even with Aura Break it would be the Uber.

In either case, it passes its base stats (including 108 HP) as a God.

Congrats to Ivi for being our first ever First Runner-Up with earning 1 Point in your Victory during the Round Robin Round.

Congrats to TSM-Virgil for being our Second Runner-Up.
I tried to find a gif forever but couldn’t!

Thanks to everyone who participated, we hope to continue this tradition in the follow-ups for our future OMotM opportunities to play, which will likely be in Gen 8!
This will serve as a sort of Time Capsule in how our metagame was played for USUM.

Uxie is a long-time veteran of Trick Room teams thanks to its capabilities as a hazard and room-setting lead that's very hard to take down in one hit, so it only makes sense it would appear on this one, now with an improved HP stat. Marowak-Alola is another obvious addition, with Trick Room's support allowing him to free up that speed slot to boost his already absurd Attack stat to new heights. Hydreigon's basically there so I don't auto-lose to Pdon outside of Trick Room, as well as being a handy switch-in to Yveltal and speedy Alolawak, which is the kind of defensive role compression this team sorely needs. Usually one would opt to run Nidoking as their Sheer Force abuser, but with its miniscule speed and titanic natural Defense, Steelix was the far better choice for this team, with its dual STAB being able to deal huge damage to many threats with DW Necrozma's 157 Special Attack while sniping Lunala, weakened Lugias or even the occasional Lati twins with Dark Pulse. Stakataka is another natural-born Trick Room staple, and aside from improved Special Defense it does much the same things it has always done, aiming to clean teams with its deadly Gyro Ball. In the final slot is the Uber of choice for the team, Necrozma-Dawn-Wings. Compared to Lunala it has higher Special Attack, Defense and Special Defense and lower Speed, making it a better fit for this team, and unlike Dusk Mane, it has a better match-up against Ferrothorn as well as granting Steelix the behemoth Special Attack it needs to succeed

You actually think I playtested this shit?

I think that Kingdra should be somewhere on the VR atleast.
The fact that you can use Swift Swim + a god giving you special attack is amazing. If you add Specs, it's extremely hard to deal with without a resist. It also beats every S rank and a lot of things on the VR when rain is up.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Clefable in Rain: 535-631 (135.7 - 160.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Magearna in Rain: 436-514 (144.8 - 170.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Shuckle in Rain: 474-558 (94 - 110.7%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
All of these were with 150 SpA. But if you pair this with Kyurem-White, oh boy.
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Shuckle in Rain: 518-612 (102.7 - 121.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Magearna in Rain: 390-460 (107.1 - 126.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Clefable in Rain: 420-495 (106.5 - 125.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Draco will mostly only be used to kill Kyurem-White and Gastro.
