[OVERVIEW]

Lapras has a small niche in the PU metagame thanks to its decent power with Choice Specs, which allows it to serve as a wallbreaker. In addition, Water Absorb coupled with Freeze-Dry and good bulk allows Lapras to pressure a myriad of Water-type Pokemon such as Gastrodon, Lanturn, and Swanna. Lapras also sports a solid offensive typing that allows it to hit a wide array of offensive Pokemon with its powerful STAB attacks. On the downside, Lapras's typing leaves it weak to common Electric-, Grass-, and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Abomasnow, Eelektross, and Hitmonchan. Lapras is also vulnerable to all entry hazards, which make it easily worn down over the course of a match. Furthermore, Lapras's lackluster base 60 Speed stat puts it below a wide variety of threats including Lycanroc, Alolan Raichu, and Primeape, meaning it is easily revenge killed. Finally, even when Lapras is wielding Choice Specs, bulky Pokemon such as Clefairy are able to switch into and tank its STAB attacks with ease. Because of this, Lapras is outclassed by other Water- and Ice-types such as Ludicolo and Aurorus, which have higher Special Attack stats that allow them to 2HKO special walls more easily than Lapras.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Freeze-Dry allows Lapras to threaten opposing Water-types like Gastrodon, Poliwrath, and Lanturn. Hydro Pump is Lapras's strongest available STAB attack that has no significant drawbacks other than its accuracy and PP. Ice Beam is stronger than Freeze-Dry and allows Lapras to hit Pokemon that resist its other STAB attacks. Hidden Power Fire allows Lapras to 2HKO Ferroseed and OHKO Abomasnow.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack investment with Choice Specs allows Lapras to maximize its wallbreaking potential. 136 Speed EVs allow Lapras to outspeed slow wallbreakers such as Choice Specs Alolan Exeggutor and Drampa, while the rest of the EVs are put into HP to maximize its bulk. Water Absorb is the preferred ability because it makes Lapras immune to all Water-type attacks, and its other abilities aren't very useful.

Usage Tips
========

Lapras is best used as an early- or mid-game wallbreaker to punch holes in the opponent's team, and a good way to start doing so is bringing it in against slower and passive Pokemon such as Weezing. Make sure to remove entry hazards with Pokemon like Hitmonchan before you bring Lapras onto the field, as entry hazards greatly cripple it. Identify your opponent's Hydro Pump switch-ins, and if they don't have any, it's practical to try wearing down the opposing team with repeated Hydro Pumps. If your opponent's team carries checks, Freeze-Dry can be used to chip switch-ins like Lanturn, while Hidden Power Fire can be used to lure and KO bulky Grass-types like Ferroseed and Abomasnow that take Hydro Pump with ease. Due to Lapras's great bulk and defensive typing, it should be used to pivot into predicted Water-type attacks from Pokemon such as Gastrodon and Floatzel so it can put pressure on the opposing team with Freeze-Dry or Hydro Pump. Lastly, be wary that predicting wrong comes with very big risks, as it could cost the team's momentum or end up giving Pokemon like Lilligant setup opportunities when Lapras locks into Hydro Pump.

Team Options
========

Lapras appreciates slow U-turn and Volt Switch support from Pokemon such as Mesprit and Eelektross, as they can bring in Lapras safely and prevent it from getting worn down. Mesprit checks Fighting-type Pokemon such as Hitmonchan and provides Stealth Rock and Healing Wish support, while Eelektross is good at checking Electric-types such as Manectric. Pokemon like Pyroar that appreciate Lapras's ability to weaken walls such as Audino also pair well with it. In return, Pyroar is able to check offensive Grass-types such as Lilligant for Lapras. Pairing Lapras with entry hazard removal is ideal because it keeps Lapras from being worn down. Skuntank in particular is a good partner because it's a reliable Defog user that can chip away at Ferroseed, making wallbreaking easier for Lapras. Entry hazard support from Ferroseed is appreciated for making walls like Type: Null unable to pivot in on Hydro Pump as consistently. Finally, physical wallbreakers like Stoutland are ideal partners because they pressure specially defensive walls such as Clefairy and Miltank.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A physical set with Dragon Dance can be used but is weak even when set-up and is outclassed by physical Floatzel. Thunderbolt can be used over Ice Beam for more damage on Articuno, but it is not worth it especially because Articuno is not common and being Choice locked into Thunderbolt gives more setup opportunities than being locked into Hydro Pump. Waterium Z can be used for a surprise against foes like Type: Null and the ability to switch moves, but it's still weak. A Substitute + Toxic set can be used to cripple bulky walls like Audino, but this is very passive.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Primeape and Absol can all outspeed and heavily damage or OHKO Lapras; however, most of them cannot switch into any of Lapras's attacks.

**Electric-type Pokemon**: Electric-type Pokemon such as Lanturn and Manectric really threaten Lapras, as they can do massive damage with STAB attacks. They also gain momentum with Volt Switch, as Lapras is often forced out, but they don't appreciate taking a hit.

**Fighting-type Pokemon**: Fighting-types such as Primeape and Assault Vest Hitmonchan can OHKO Lapras with their respective STAB attacks. Furthermore, Primeape can predict a switch and go for U-turn, while Hitmonchan can spin away entry hazards.

**Grass-type Pokemon**: Grass-types such as Abomasnow and Lilligant offensively check Lapras, as they can pivot in on Hydro Pump and retaliate with their super effective STAB moves, though they have to be careful of Hidden Power Fire and Ice Beam.

**Residual Damage**: Lapras is not only weak to Stealth Rock but also vulnerable to all entry hazards, which make it easier to wear down and limit its opportunities to switch onto the field. Lapras also does not appreciate any form of status because it lacks recovery.

PU Leader
right, so, like…

Overview:

“Lapras carves a niche in the PU metagame due to its great power in Choice Specs that allows it to serve as a dangerous wallbreaker. Unlike most Water-types, Lapras has access to great bulk which allows it to tank neutral hits from common Pokemon such as Pyroar and Mesprit fairly well. In addition, Lapras' Water Absorb ability enables it to check a myriad of Water-type Pokemon such as Gastrodon, Qwilfsh, and Swanna with Freeze Dry. Lapras also sports a solid offensive typing that allows it to hit a wide array of offensive Pokemon with its STAB attacks.”

We’ve got a decent amount of bulky Waters here, like defensive Carracosta, Gastrodon, Pyukumuku, Qwilfish. They don’t do the same thing, yeah, but it isn’t one of the few with great bulk. Maybe split this bullet into bullets bc it’s a lot for one bullet, and maybe move the mention about its offensive typing above the mention about its bulk.

Moves:

Not much is really wrong here, just change the order of the bullets to match the moveset provided above.

Set Details:

“Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment with Choice Specs allow Lapras to maximize its wallbreaking potential.”

The set provided isn’t running 252 Speed, though. It’s only using 136.

Usage Tips:

“Due to its bulk and defensive typing, Lapras should be used to pivot into predicted Water-type attacks from Pokemon such as Gastrodon and Qwilfish, so it can put pressure on the opposing team with Freeze Dry or Hydro Pump if it predicts the former to switch out.”

Mention Water Absorb too, as this is what allows you to pivot into their Water-type moves so freely.

Team Options:

"Lapras appreciates U-turn and Volt Switch support from Pokemon such as Mesprit and Eelectross, as they can bring in Lapras safely to prevent it from getting worn down too quickly. Mesprit also checks Fighting-type Pokemon such as Hitmonchan and provides Stealth Rock support, while Eelectross is good at checking Electric-types such as Manetric and Lanturn."

Eelectross → Eelektross (don’t disrespect my boner mon like this >:[ ) Also mention that Mesprit provides Healing Wish support in this bullet since you mention how Lapras gets worn down by hazards and stuff over the course of the match.

“Another thing Lapras really appreciates is entry hazard removal, which keeps it from being easily worn down. Skuntank is a good partner because it is a reliiable Defog user thats good at chipping away at Ferroseed, which makes wallbreaking easier for Lapras.”

Mention Hitmonchan here since you mention entry hazard support in the next bullet, as Hitmonchan doesn’t get rid of hazards you set unlike Skuntank.

Checks and Counters:

Might just be nitpicking, idk, but remove the word ‘Pokemon’ from sections two, three, and four.

Set Details
========
  • Maximum Special Attack investment with Choice Specs allow Lapras to maximize its wallbreaking potential. you didn't mention Modest Nature
  • 136 Speed EVs allow Lapras to outspeed maximum Speed Adamant Golem (idk if you should say neutral nature base 45 Pokemon), while the rest of the EVs are put into HP to increase its bulk.
  • Water Absorb is used to make Lapras immune to all Water-type attacks while regaining its health if it's hit by one.

========
  • Lapras is best used as an early- or mid-game wallbreaker to punch holes in the opponent's team, and a good opportunity to start doing so is bringing Lapras in against a slower passive Pokemon such as Weezing.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon with a super effective move can revenge kill Lapras with ease. Archeops, Primeape, and Absol can all outspeed and heavily damage or OHKO Lapras. (isn't stone edge not a set move on archeops? Lycanroc is prob better here)

**Electric-type Pokemon**: Electric-type Pokemon such as Lanturn and Manetric really threaten Lapras, as they can do massive damage with STAB super effective Thunderbolts and Volt Switches. Electric-types also steal momentum from Lapras with Volt Switch, as its often forced out.

**Fighting-type Pokemon**: Fighting-types such as Primeape and Assault Vest Hitmonchan can OHKO Lapras with their respective STAB type attacks. Furthermore, Primeape can predict a switch and go for U-turn, while Hitmonchan can Rapid Spin entry hazards.

**Grass-type Pokemon**: Grass-types such as Abomasnow and Lilligant threaten Lapras greatly, as they can pivot on Hydro Pump and retaliate with their super effective STAB moves, though the former have to be careful when switching in as Ice Beam and HP Fire OHKO both.

i'm not sure if you should just make "Type Advantage" instead of all the specific types like the XY analysis did

**Entry Hazards**: Lapras is not only weak to Stealth Rock but also vulnerable to all entry hazards, which make it much easier to wear down and limit its opportunities to switch in.

  • Lapras carves a niche in the PU metagame due to its great power in Choice Specs that allows it to serve as a dangerous wallbreaker (dangerous wallbreaker is stretching how strong lapras is. remember, it only has base 85 special attack). Unlike most Water-types, Lapras has access to great bulk which allows it to tank neutral hits from common Pokemon such as Pyroar and Mesprit fairly well (this isn't true at all. water-types are often naturally bulky, like lanturn, gastrodon, carracosta, etc.). In addition, Lapras' Water Absorb ability enables it to check a myriad of Water-type Pokemon such as Gastrodon, Qwilfsh (rip qwilfish), and Swanna with Freeze Dry (this doesn't make sense. "water absorb coupled with freeze dry allows it to..." would make more sense). Lapras also sports a solid offensive typing that allows it to hit a wide array of offensive Pokemon with its STAB attacks.
  • However, despite these attributes, Lapras' typing leaves it weak to common Electric-, Grass-, and Fighting-types such as Abomasnow, Eelektross (you finally got the spelling correct!!), and Hitmonchan. On top of this, Lapras is also vulnerable to every entry hazard and weak to Stealth Rock, which makes it easily worn down over the course of a match.
  • Unfortunately, even when Choice Specs is equipped, bulky Pokemon such as Type: Null and Assault Vest Hitmonchan are able to switch into and tank Lapras's Water- and Ice-type STAB moves, restricting its offensive prowess.
  • Additionally, Lapras' lackluster base 60 Speed stat puts it below a wide variety of threats such as Lycanroc, Alolan Raichu, and Choice Scarf Primeape, which means its revenge killed easier (wait. why mention pokemon that outspeed most of the metagame. mention something closer to its actual speed tier please). Lapras also faces competition from other Water- and Ice-types such as Floatzel, Swanna, and Jynx, which all sport a better Speed tier.
  • Lastly, being forced to run Choice Specs due to average Special Attack means Lapras can potentially give free setup to a Pokemon such as Lilligant if it locks into Hydro Pump or Surf. (surf has been removed from the set)

Moves
========
  • Freeze Dry allows Lapras to threaten opposing Water-types like Gastrodon. (i'd also 100% mention pokemon like lanturn and poliwrath too. basically it hits water-types that usually resist the stab combo of ice + water super effectively)
  • Hydro Pump is Lapras' strongest available STAB move that can 2HKO Audino with no significant drawbacks other than its accuracy. (252+ SpA Choice Specs Lapras Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Audino: 177-208 (43.2 - 50.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery) :blobthinking:
  • Ice Beam allows Lapras to hit bulky Grass- and Dragon-types such as Gourgest-XL and Altaria. (basically allows it to hit things that resist its other stab)
  • Hidden Power Fire allows Lapras to 2HKO Ferroseed and OHKO Abomasnow.
Set Details
========
  • Maximum Special Attack investment with Choice Specs allow Lapras to maximize its wallbreaking potential.
  • 136 Speed EVs allow Lapras to outspeed maximum Speed Adamant Golem, while the rest of the EVs are put into HP to increase its bulk. (okay, now i'm unsure on what the rest of qc thinks because i've yet to ask them, but wouldn't 176 be nicer? you outspeed things like adamant aggron)
  • Water Absorb is used to make Lapras immune to all Water-type attacks while regaining its health if it's hit by one. (specify how much health)
Usage Tips
========
  • Lapras is best used as an early- or mid-game wallbreaker to punch holes in the opponent's team, and a good opportunity to start doing so is bringing Lapras in against a slower passive Pokemon such as Weezing.

However, if they do carry checks, Freeze Dry can be used to chip at switchins like Lanturn, while HP Fire can be used to lure bulky Grass-type like Ferroseed and Abomasnow that take Ice Beam with ease. (abomasnow doesn't take an ice beam with ease, at all. it can switch in once to an ice beam before becoming an uncheck)
  • Due to its bulk and defensive typing, Lapras should be used to pivot into predicted Water-type attacks from Pokemon such as Gastrodon and Qwilfish (rip qwilfish), so it can put pressure on the opposing team with Freeze Dry or Hydro Pump if it predicts the former to switch out. (this can be merged with the first point)
  • Be wary that predicting wrong comes with very big risks, as it could cost the team's momentum or end up giving Pokemon like Lilligant setup opportunities when Lapras locks into Hydro Pump. (pretty much the exact same as what you've said in the overview)
  • should be wary of switching in when there's hazards because it's easily chipped
Team Options
========
  • Lapras appreciates U-turn and Volt Switch support from Pokemon such as Mesprit and Eelektross, as they can bring in Lapras safely to prevent it from getting worn down too quickly (specify slow volt-turn). Mesprit also checks Fighting-type Pokemon such as Hitmonchan and provides Stealth Rock and Healing Wish support, while Eelektross is good at checking Electric-types such as Manectric and Lanturn.
  • Pokemon like Pyroar that appreciate Lapras' ability to weaken walls, such as Audino, also make for good teammates. In return, Pyroar is able to check offensive Grass-types such as Lilligant. (pyroar also checks defensive grass-types. i think you mean offensively check?) (pyroar breaks audino better though?)
  • Another thing Lapras really appreciates is entry hazard removal, which keeps it from being easily worn down. Skuntank is a good partner because it is a reliable Defog user that's good at chipping away at Ferroseed (only if it's the special set? the physical set does nothing to ferroseed and ends up being borderline fodder, so specify), which makes wallbreaking easier for Lapras.
  • Addionally, entry hazard support from Qwilfish is apperciated for making things like Ferroseed unable to pivot on Hydro Pump's as consistently (rip qwilfish)
  • Physical wallbreakers like Stoutland and Passimian are ideal partners because they pressure checks such as Clefairy and Type: Null.
expand these points a little more please

Other Options
=============
  • A physical set with Dragon Dance can be used but is weak even after setup and is outclassed by physical Floatzel. (it's also just not that strong or fast)
  • Thunderbolt can be used for more damage on Articuno and opposing Lapras but its not worth it especially because the former are not common and being Choice locked into Thunderbolt gives more setup opportunities than Hydro Pump. (expand the last bit please, and make it more clear)
  • Waterium Z can be used for a surpize :blobstop: vs stuff like Type: Null and the ability to switch moves, but it's still weak.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon with a super effective move can revenge kill Lapras with ease. Archeops, Primeape, and Absol can all outspeed and heavily damage or OHKO Lapras. (archeops quite often doesn't run stone edge, so i'd give another example)

**Electric-type Pokemon**: Electric-type Pokemon such as Lanturn and Manectric really threaten Lapras, as they can do massive damage with STAB super effective Thunderbolts and Volt Switches. Electric-types also steal momentum from Lapras with Volt Switch, as its often forced out. (they do not appreciate taking a hit)

**Fighting-type Pokemon**: Fighting-types such as Primeape (already mentioned this, so don't mention it again) and Assault Vest Hitmonchan can OHKO Lapras with their respective STAB type attacks. Futhermore, Primeape can predict a switch and go for U-turn, while Hitmonchan can spin away entry hazards.

(252+ SpA Choice Specs Lapras Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Lilligant: 140-165 (49.8 - 58.7%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO) :blobthinking: (they offensively check it, but hate switching into any of its moves really)

**Entry Hazards**: Lapras is not only weak to Stealth Rock but also vulnerable to all entry hazards, which make it much easier to wear down and limit its opportunities to switch in.

You should remove all mentions of Qwilfish since it moved up to NU because of usage stats. These are three mentions the First one is in the Overview the second one is in the Usage Tips section and the Final one is in the Team Options Sections.

it's kinda important to mention that this is just worse than wishiwashi and aurorus and really not worth using on any team. info's good, but "carves a niche" isn't what I'd use. more like "if you have to

  • A physical set with Dragon Dance can be used but is weak even after setup and is outclassed by physical Floatzel.
  • Thunderbolt can be used for more damage on Articuno and opposing lapras but its not worth it especially because the former are not common and being Choice locked into Thunderbolt gives more setup opperutines than Hydro Pump.
  • Waterium Z can be used for a surpize vs stuff like Type: Null and the ability to switch moves, but its still weak.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon with a super effective move can revenge kill Lapras with ease. Archeops, Primeape, and Absol can all outspeed and heavily damage or OHKO Lapras.

**Fighting-type Pokemon**: Fighting-types such as Primeape and Assult Vest Hitmonchan can OHKO Lapras with their respecitve STAB type attacks. Futhermore, Primeape can predict a switch and go for U-turn, while Hitmonchan can spinaway entry hazards.

**Grass-type Pokemon**: Grass-types such as Abomasnow and Liligant threaten Lapras greatly, as they can pivot on Hydro Pump and retaliate with their super effective STAB moves, though the former have to be careful when switching in as Ice Beam and HP Fire OHKO both.

**Entry Hazards**: Lapras is not only weak to Stealth Rock but also vulnerable to all entry hazards, which make it much easier to wear down and limit its opportunities to switch in.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Lapras has a small niche in the PU metagame due to its great power in Choice Specs which allows it to serve as a wallbreaker. In addition, Water Absorb coupled with Freeze Dry allows Lapras to check a myriad of Water-type Pokemon such as Gastrodon, Lanturn and Swanna with Freeze Dry. Lapras also sports a solid offensive typing that allows it to hit a wide array of offensive Pokemon with its STAB attacks.
  • However, despite these attributes, Lapras' typing leaves it weak to common Electric-, Grass-, and Fighting-types such as Abomasnow, Eelektross, and Hitmonchan. On top of this, Lapras is also vulnerable to every entry hazard and weak to Stealth Rock, which makes it easily worn down over the course of a match.
  • Unfortunately, even when Choice Specs is equipped, bulky Pokemon such as Type: Null and Assault Vest Hitmonchan are able to switch into and tank Lapras's Water and Ice-type STAB moves, restricting its offensive prowess.
  • Additionally, Lapras' lackluster base 60 Speed stat puts it below a wide variety of threats such as Lycanroc, Alolan Raichu, and Choice Scarf Primeape, which means its revenge killed easier. Lapras also faces competition from other Water and Ice-types such as Floatzel, Swanna, and Jynx, which all sport a better Speed tier. It is also important to note that Lapras is outclassed by Pokemon like Aurorus and wishiashi why is it outclassed? that's kind of important. also the outclassed and competition parts are kind of confused, i dont see much point in saying it faces competition from floatzel if u go right into it being outclassed by something else anyway
  • Lastly, being forced to run Choice Specs due to average Special Attack means Lapras can potentially give free setup to a Pokemon such as Lilligant.

  • Hydro Pump is Lapras' strongest available STAB move that can 2HKO Audino with no significant drawbacks other than its accuracy.
  • Ice Beam allows Lapras to hit Pokemon that resists its other STAB attacks.
  • Hidden Power Fire allows Lapras to 2HKO Ferroseed and OHKO Abomasnow.
Set Details
========
  • Maximum Special Attack investment with Choice Specs allow Lapras to maximize its wallbreaking potential.
  • 136 Speed EVs allow Lapras to outspeed base 45 Speed Pokemon such as Alolan Exeggutor and Drampa while the rest of the EVs are put into HP to increase its bulk.
  • Water Absorb is used to make Lapras immune to all Water-type attacks while regaining its health if it's hit by one. this is info you could get from reading the dex, why is it the preferred ability?
Usage Tips
========
  • Lapras is best used as an early- or mid-game wallbreaker to punch holes in the opponent's team, and a good opportunity to start doing so is bringing Lapras in against a slower passive Pokemon such as Weezing.
  • Make sure to remove entry hazards with Pokemon like Hitmonchan before you bring Lapras onto the field, as entry hazards greatly cripple it.
  • You should identify your opponent's Hydro Pump switch-ins, if they don't have any, it's practical to just try and wear down the opposing team with repeated Hydro Pumps. However, if they do carry checks, Freeze Dry can be used to chip at switchins like Lanturn, while HP Fire can be used to lure bulky Grass-type like Ferroseed and Abomasnow that take Surf with ease.
  • Due to its bulk and defensive typing, Lapras should be used to pivot into predicted Water-type attacks from Pokemon such as Gastrodon and Floatzel so it can put pressure on the opposing team with Freeze Dry or Hydro Pump if it predicts the former to switch out.
  • Be wary that predicting wrong comes with very big risks, as it could cost the team's momentum or end up giving Pokemon like Lilligant setup opportunities when Lapras locks into Hydro Pump.
Team Options
========
  • Lapras appreciates U-turn and Volt Switch support from Pokemon such as Mesprit and Eelektross, as they can bring in Lapras safely to prevent it from getting worn down too quickly. Mesprit also checks Fighting-type Pokemon such as Hitmonchan and provides Stealth Rock and Healing Wish support, while Eelektross is good at checking Electric-types such as Manetric and Lanturn.
  • Pokemon like Pyroar that appreciate Lapras' ability to weaken walls, such as Audino, also make for good teammates. In return, Pyroar is able to check offesive Grass-types such as Liliigant.
  • Another thing Lapras really appreciates is entry hazard removal, which keeps it from being easily worn down. Skuntank is a good partner because it is a reliiable Defog user thats good at chipping away at Ferroseed, which makes wallbreaking easier for Lapras. Altaria is also a great partner because it can check Fighting-type Pokemon such as Primeape and remove entry hazards for Lapras.
  • Addionally, entry hazard support from Ferroseed is apperciated for making things like Type: Null unable to pivot on Hydro Pump's as consistently
  • Physical wallbreakers like Stoutland and Passimian are ideal partners because they pressure checks such as Clefairy and Miltank.

Finally, even with Choice Specs, bulky Pokemon such as Clefairy are able to switch into and tank Lapras's STAB attacks with ease, making Lapras outclassed by other Water-(AH) and Ice-types such as Aurous and Wishiwashi (i wouldn't say wishiwashi since it's pretty niche, i'd say something like ludicolo. Also, switch the order since you say water+ice then say ice+water), which have higher Special Attack stats that allow them to 2HKO special defensive walls easier, which Lapras fails to do.

Furthermore, Lapras's lackluster base 60 Speed stat puts it below a wide variety of threats including, (RC) Lycanroc, Alolan Raichu, and Primeape, meaning it is easily revenge killed. Finally, even when Lapras is wielding with Choice Specs, bulky Pokemon such as Clefairy are able to switch into and tank its STAB attacks with ease. Because of this, Lapras is outclassed by other Water Water- and Ice-types such as Ludicolo and Aurorus, which have higher Special attack Attack stats that allow them to 2HKO special defensive walls more easily, (RC) which Lapras fails to do than Lapras.

Moves

Freeze-Dry allows Lapras to threaten opposing Water-types like Gastrodon, Poliwrath, and Lanturn. Hydro Pump is Lapras's strongest available STAB attack that has no significant drawbacks other than its accuracy and PP. Ice Beam is stronger than Freeze-Dry and allows Lapras to hit Pokemon that resist its other STAB attacks. Hidden Power Fire allows Lapras to 2HKO Ferroseed and OHKO Abomasnow.

Usage Tips
========

If your opponent's team carries checks, Freeze-Dry can be used to chip switch-ins like Lanturn, while Hidden while Hidden Power Fire can be used to lure and KO bulky Grass-types like Ferroseed and Abomasnow that take Hydro Pump with ease.

========

Pokemon like Pyroar that appreciate Lapras's ability to weaken walls such as Audino, (RC) also pair well with it. Altaria is also a great partner because it can check Fighting-type Pokemon such as Primeape. (Feel free to keep this sentence if you can find a replacement) Entry hazard support from Ferroseed is appreciated for making walls like Type: Null unable to pivot in on Hydro Pumps Pump as consistently. Finally, physical wallbreakers like Stoutland and Passimian are ideal partners because they pressure specially defensive walls such as Clefairy and Miltank.

Other Options
=============

A physical set with Dragon Dance can be used but is weak even after setup when set-up and is outclassed by physical Floatzel.

===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Primeape and Absol can all outspeed and heavily damage or OHKO Lapras; however, the former most of them cannot switch into any of Lapras's attacks.

**Electric-type Pokemon**: Electric-type Pokemon such as Lanturn and Manectric really threaten Lapras, as they can do massive damage with STAB super effective Thunderbolts and Volt Switches attacks. They also steal gain momentum with Volt Switch, as Lapras is often forced out, but they don't appreciate taking a hit.

**Grass-type Pokemon**: Grass-types such as Abomasnow and Lilligant offensively check Lapras, as they can pivot in on Hydro Pump and retaliate with their super effective STAB moves, though they have to be careful when switching in as Ice Beam and Hidden Power Fire do a ton of damage. of Hidden Power Fire and Ice Beam.

**Residual Damage**: Lapras is not only weak to Stealth Rock but also vulnerable to all entry hazards, which make it easier to wear down and limit its opportunities to switch onto the field. Lapras also does not appreciate any form of status because it lacks recovery.
