[OVERVIEW]

Normal

========

Mega Pidgeot is one of the best revenge killers on Normal, sporting unrivaled Speed and excellent Special Attack. It helps immensly in the Fighting matchup by outpacing and OHKOing threats such as Infernape and Keldeo while also greatly improving the Bug and Grass matchups, heavily pressuring defensive threats on Grass like Ferrothorn and Mega Venusaur with Heat Wave and Hurricane. Mega Pidgeot also pressures staples on Bug like Volcarona with its STAB Hurricane. Its ability, No Guard, offers great utility by boosting the accuracy of all its attacks, most notably Hurricane. Unfortunately, this comes at a cost, as it also makes sure foes' inaccurate attacks such as Hydro Pump, Focus Blast, and Stone Edge won't miss. Mega Pidgeot offers great team support through U-turn, boosting the team's momentum and bringing in powerful wallbreakers like Choice Specs Meloetta and Choice Band Diggersby as well as pivoting out to Porygon2, Chansey, and Staraptor, allowing them to take hits for Mega Pidgeot and recover. Mega Pidgeot also has access to utility such as Defog to relieve pressure off Staraptor, and it can utilize Tailwind to help wallbreakers smash holes through the even faster, offensive teams. Unfortunately, Mega Pidgeot has very poor defenses and is easily revenge killed by faster threats and priority once it has been weakened. It also has a crippling weakness to Stealth Rock, which limits its opportunities to switch in. Its movepool is also extremely limited, leaving it walled by Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Chansey, and Heatran. Mega Pidgeot also comes with the opportunity cost of not being able to use Mega Lopunny, which has perfect neutral STAB coverage as well as superior Speed that allows it to outpace metagame threats such as Greninja and Tapu Koko that Mega Pidgeot can't and helps out with tough matchups against types such as Dark and Steel.

Moves
========

Hurricane is Mega Pidgeot's strongest STAB move and most spammable attack, only being resisted by Steel-, Rock-, and Electric-types. Heat Wave is a secondary attack that nails defensive and offensive Steel-types such as Ferrothorn and Bisharp, which threaten Normal teams. Roost gives Mega Pidgeot more longevity and allows it to stay in against defensive threats longer. U-turn allows Mega Pidgeot to pivot out of switch-ins such as Heatran and Tyranitar while also gaining momentum. Hidden Power Ground allows Mega Pidgeot to prevent opposing offensive Heatran from safely switching in but prevents it from using one of its more effective moves. Defog provides Normal with a secondary entry hazard remover, which is great for preventing chip damage on the team.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack EVs are used to maximize Mega Pidgeot's attacking power. Maximum Speed and a Timid nature are used so Mega Pidgeot can outpace offensive threats such as Mega Gallade, Latios, and Keldeo. No Guard allows Mega Pidgeot to land inaccurate attacks such as Hurricane without fail. Pidgeotite is required for Pidgeot to evolve into Mega Pidgeot, as regular Pidgeot is not viable. Big Pecks is used to prevent foes from dropping Pidgeot's Defense before it Mega Evolves.

Usage Tips
========

Primarily use Mega Pidgeot as a revenge killer and cleaner, because it has very poor defenses. Therefore, only switch it in with a double switch, after one of its teammates has fainted, or through a slow U-turn. Use Roost whenever there is a possibility of a free turn to keep Mega Pidgeot healthy. Avoid switching into Stealth Rock unless necessary for an important double switch or sacrifice. Utilize U-turn on switch-ins such as Chansey, Heatran, Zapdos, and Tyranitar to allow strong wallbreakers such as Choice Band Diggersby to come in and to scout the opposing team. Keep in mind that Mega Pidgeot can heavily threaten Steel-, Bug-, and Grass-type teams, so making double switches can seriously tilt the momentum in your favor. Avoid status, mainly poison and paralysis as the former can discourage double switches especially if rocks are up as in conjunction they wear down Mega Pidgeot very quickly and the latter prevents Pidgeot from revenge killing threats. Use Hurricane freely, as it is Mega Pidgeot's most reliable attack with No Guard, and even switch-ins have a chance of being confused. However, be wary, as No Guard also works against Mega Pidgeot, allowing foes to hit it with their own inaccurate attacks. If on the set, utilize Defog whenever Mega Pidgeot has a free turn to prevent teammates such as Porygon2, Chansey, and Staraptor from being chipped by entry hazards. For example, Mega Pidgeot can gain free turns from forcing foes such as Ferrothorn out and can capitalize on the free turn with Defog.

Team Options
========

Pokemon like Diggersby synergize well with Mega Pidgeot because it can give them a free switch-in with U-turn. Choice Band Diggersby helps against Electric-, Rock-, and Steel-type teams, which Mega Pidgeot struggles against. Porygon2 can take physical hits from offensive threats such as Choice Scarf Tapu Bulu for Mega Pidgeot and chip defensive threats such as Celesteela into Mega Pidgeot's KO range with Discharge or Thunderbolt. It can also badly poison defensive threats and whittle them into range for Mega Pidgeot to KO later on and paralyze Choice Scarf users with Discharge or Thunder Wave so that Mega Pidgeot can outpace them. Similarly, Chansey can assist in wearing down the opposition with Toxic stall, Stealth Rock, and Seismic Toss for Mega Pidgeot to clean more easily. Thanks to its amazing Special Defense, you can bring it in on foes that threaten Mega Pidgeot like Tapu Koko and Choice Scarf Nihilego. Finally, Chansey can freely switch into status moves with its ability Natural Cure, thus preventing Mega Pidgeot from being inflicted with status. Staraptor acts as a primary Defogger to keep Mega Pidgeot from taking Stealth Rock damage. It can also eliminate Pokemon that threaten Mega Pidgeot like Alolan Muk and bring Mega Pidgeot in freely by means of a slow U-turn. Ditto works as a secondary revenge killer to eliminate setup sweepers that outpace Mega Pidgeot. Pokemon such as Heliolisk can be utilized to form an effective VoltTurn core with Mega Pidgeot to gain momentum on more offensive teams. With Sticky Web support from Smeargle on offensive teams, Mega Pidgeot can outpace the majority of the boosted metagame. Stealth Rock also provides helpful chip damage so that Mega Pidgeot can get more KOs. Porygon-Z can help wear down the opposition with a Z-Conversion set's wallbreakering power to allow Mega Pidgeot to pick up KOs later in the game.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Normal
--------

Tailwind doubles the speed of powerful wallbreakers such as Choice Band Diggersby, turning them into devastating sweepers, but is useless against bulkier teams and limits Mega Pidgeot's coverage options. Substitute allows Mega Pidgeot to check a huge threat in Bisharp, mitigate prediction versus slower U-turn Pokemon, and prevent status. Substitute can also be utilized on free turns when your opponent sacrifices a slower Pokemon weak to Mega Pidgeot's coverage such as Ferrothorn or Keldeo. However, Substitute is niche and limits Mega Pidgeot's coverage.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Heatran**: Heatran counters sets lacking Hidden Power Ground and is capable of KOing Mega Pidgeot with any Fire-type STAB attack.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Rotom-W and Zapdos resist Hurricane and force Mega Pidgeot out with their Electric-type STAB attacks. Other Electric-types such as Tapu Koko and Alolan Raichu can outpace Mega Pidgeot and threaten it with their STAB moves.

**Priority**: Priority from Pokemon such as Weavile and Bisharp can KO a weakened Mega Pidgeot.

**Rock-types**: Rock-types such as Tyranitar can survive multiple hits from Mega Pidgeot and either Pursuit trap it or KO it with Stone Edge.

**Revenge Killers**: Mega Pidgeot can be outsped and OHKOed by Pokemon such as Greninja and Tapu Koko. Choice Scarf revenge killers such as Victini and Nihilego outpace and OHKO Mega Pidgeot as well.

**Special Walls**: Specially defensive Pokemon such as Chansey and Cradily wall Mega Pidgeot and wear it down with their attacks or Toxic stall.

**Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rock wears down Mega Pidgeot so that it can be revenge killed or forced out more easily by powerful priority or by faster sweepers.

**Status**: Paralysis renders Mega Pidgeot useless and incapable of revenge killing opposing Pokemon. Toxic poison easily wears down Mega Pidgeot as well.

For the overview I'd like to see complete sentences because it makes your life easier when you're writing this up because it makes person who is doing QC 3/3's job much easier later.
General thing I saw when glancing at the analysis was lack of necessary detail. I know this is a skeleton, but it'll make writing it up really easy if there's a lot of detail in the skeleton.

Mega Pidgeot (Normal)

QC:

[OVERVIEW]

Normal
========

* Mega Pidgeot is Normal's premier revenge killer, sporting unrivaled speed and powerful special attack.
* It helps immensly in the Fighting matchup by outpacing and OHKOing threats such as Infernape and Keldeo.
* No Guard offers great utility boosting the accuracy of all attacks. emphasize more on Hurricane always hitting here as its accuracy in general isn't good.
* It offers team support through U-turn, boosting the team's momentum and bringing in powerful wallbreakers like Choice Specs Meloetta and Choice Band Diggersby. Aswell as pivoting into Porygon2, Chansey and Staraptor allowing them to take hits and recover.
* Mega Pidgeot also has access to utility such as Refresh and Defog to alleviate pressure off other teammates such as Chansey and Staraptor. It can also utilize Tailwind to help wallbreakers smash holes through the opposition. Idk if id talk about Refresh here, personally i feel like it should only be mentioned in Other Options
* That being said Mega Pidgeot has very frail defenses and has a crippling weakness to Stealth Rock which both prevent opportunities for Mega Pidgeot to switch in. Mention it being easily revenge killed by faster threats and priority once weakened.
* Mega Pidgeot's movepool is extremely limited, leaving it walled by Pokemon such as Tyranitar and Chansey. You wanna add Heatran here
* No Guard comes at a cost as it also boosts foes' attacks, like Thunder, Focus Blast and Stone Edge.
*Add how it faces competition with Mega Lopunny

evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Hurricane is Mega Pidgeot's strongest STAB move that is only resisted by Steel-, Rock-, and Electric-types. Mention how it cant miss thanks to No Guard and how it hits Fighting-types that normally threaten normal
* Heat Wave is a secondary attack that nails Steel-types normal is weak to such as Ferrothorn and Celesteela.
* Roost gives Mega Pidgeot more longevity.
* Defog provides Normal with a secondary Defogger. To get rid of hazards that its teammates don't appreciate
* U-turn allows Mega Pidgeot to pivot into any of its teammates while gaining momentum.

Set Details
========

* Maximum Special attack are used to maximize Mega Pidgeot's attacking power.
* Maximum Speed and a Timid nature are used so Mega Pidgeot can outpace as many offensive threats as possible.
* No Guard allows Mega Pidgeot to hit inaccurate attacks such as Hurricane.
* Pidgeotite is required for Pidgeot to evolve into Mega Pidgeot. As regular Pidgeot is not viable

This section is good, add examples on what it outspeeds with timid + max speed. You can also mention why running bulk would ruin Mega Pidgeots revenge killing capabilities and useless since its not bulky in general

Usage Tips
========

* Primarily use Mega Pigeot as a revenge killer and cleaner. I feel like you should elaborate more on this, this is its main role so try to explain more here.
* Avoid switching onto Stealth Rocks unless necessary.
* Utilize U-turn on switch-ins such as Chansey or Heatran to allow strong wallbreakers such as Choice Banded Diggersby in. Mention Zapdos as it can freely switch into Mega Pidgeot
* Keep in mind that Mega Pidgeot can heavily threaten Steel-, Bug-, and Grass-typed teams so making double switches can seriously tilt the momentum in your favor.
* However, Mega Pidgeot has very frail defenses. Therefore, only switch it in with a double switch or after one of its teammates has fainted. You can also mention through slow pivoting from Staraptor's U-turn.
* Use Roost whenever there is a possibility of a free turn to keep Mega Pidgeot healthy.
* Avoid paralysis because it cripples Mega Pidgeot. Avoid status in general, especially paralysis.
* Utilize Defog whenever Mega Pidgeot has a free turn to prevent teammates such as Porygon2, Chansey, and Staraptor from being chipped by hazards.
* Mention how your free to almost always fire off a Hurricane since Pokemon that resist it even have a 30% chance to get confused.

Team Options
========

* Pokemon like Diggersby and Meloetta synergize well with Mega Pidgeot because it can give them a free switch-in with U-turn. Choice Band Diggersby and Choice Specs Meloetta also wear down walls that Mega Pidgeot struggles with, giving it an easier time cleaning late-game.
* Porygon2 can take physical hits for Mega Pidgeot and chip defensive threats such as Celesteela into range with Discharge or Thunderbolt.
* Similarly, Chansey can assist in wearing down the opposition with Toxic stall, Stealth Rocks, and Seismic Toss for Mega Pidgeot to clean easier. Thanks to its amazing Special Defense you can bring it in on things that threaten Mega Pidgeot like Tapu Koko and Choice Scarf Nihilego.
* Staraptor acts as a primary Defogger to keep Mega Pidgeot from taking Stealth Rocks damage and can also eliminate Pokemon who threaten Mega Pidgeot, like Alolan Muk.
* Ditto works as a secondary revenge killer to eliminate set up offensive threats that outpace Mega Pidgeot.
* Pokemon such as Heliolisk can be utilized to form an effective VoltTurn core with Mega Pidgeot to gain momentum.
* With Sticky Web support from Smeargle, Mega Pidgeot can outpace the majority of the boosted metagame. Stealth Rock also provides helpful chip damage so that Mega Pidgeot can get more KOs.
* Porygon Z needs a mention

This section seems fine, but i really feel like you should be adding more examples. What is Diggersby and Meloetta wearing down? What is Porygon2 eating? etc

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Normal
========
* A set utilizing Work Up can turn Mega Pidgeot into a deadly wallbreaker.
* HP Ground allows Mega Pidgeot to prevent opposing offensive Heatran's from safely switching in.
* Refresh allows Mega Pidgeot to act as the team's cleric.
* Tailwind doubles the speed of powerful wallbreakers such as Choice Band Diggersby, turning them into devastating sweepers.
* Sub?

When explaining stuff in Other Options, explain why they aren't initially used, what are you losing from running these "Other Options"

Checks and Counters
===================

**Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rocks wear down Mega Pidgeot so that it can be revenge killed or forced out more easily by powerful priority or by faster sweepers.
**Status**: Paralysis renders Mega Pidgeot useless of sweeping most teams. Toxic poison easily wears down Mega Pidgeot as well.
**Special Walls**: Specially defensive Pokemon such as Chansey and Cradily wall Mega Pidgeot and wear it down with their attacks or Toxic stall.
**Revenge Killers**: Mega Pidgeot can be revenged by Pokemon such as Greninja or Tapu Koko. Change "revenged" to "outsped and OHKO'd"
**Rock-types**: Rock-types such as Tyranitar can live multiple hits from Mega Pidgeot and either Pursuit trap or KO with Stone Edge.
**Heatran**: Heatran counters sets lacking HP Ground and is capable of KOing Mega Pidgeot with any Fire-type STAB.
You need Electric-types here as things like Zapdos and Rotom-Wash eat up its STAB move in Hurricane, and can threaten it out with Electric STAB forcing it to switch-out

Change the order of these to
Heatran
Electric-types
Rock-types
Revenge Killers
Special Walls
Stealth Rock
Status users

Overview:

-Mega Pidgeot being able to help immensely in Bug and Grass matchups as well.
* Mega Pidgeot also has access to utility such as Refresh and Defog to alleviate pressure off other teammates such as Chansey and Staraptor. It can also utilize Tailwind to help wallbreakers smash holes through the opposition.
- Agreed (with Seo). I'm not sure how Refresh alleviates pressure of Chansey and Staraptor. Refresh is a very underrated move that usually goes with the Work Up Stalbreaker set, it only cures itself.
* Mega Pidgeot's movepool is extremely limited, leaving it walled by Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Chansey, and Heatran.
- I'd probably use
* No Guard comes at a cost as it also boosts foes' attacks, like Thunder, Focus Blast and Stone Edge.
- I'd probably use a more common move, something like Hydro Pump over Thunder as a nitpick
* Mega Pidgeot comes at the opportunity cost of not being able to use Mega Lopunny which checks threats such as Bisharp.
- I mean Mega Pidgeot checks Bisharp too with Heat Wave KOing it and that's only if Swords Dance isn't set up already. I'd be a bit more specific with what qualities that Mega Lopunny have over Mega Pidgeot in which it faces stiff competition from, now Mega Lopunny is being the more primary choice for a mega slot.

[SET]
name: Sweeper (Normal)
move 1: Hurricane
move 2: Heat Wave
move 3: Roost
move 4: Defog / U-Turn
item: Pidgeotite
ability: No Guard Big Pecks (Use the default ability, not its mega ability)
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Moves:
* Hurricane is Mega Pidgeot's strongest STAB move that is only resisted by Steel-, Rock-, and Electric-types.
- Say that it's also Mega Pidgeot's most spammable attack.
* Heat Wave is a secondary attack that nails Steel-types normal is weak to such as Ferrothorn and Celesteela.
- Normal isn't exactly weak to them, it's what they struggle against
* U-turn allows Mega Pidgeot to pivot into any of its teammates while gaining momentum.
- Should also say it's used for escaping threats that Mega Pidgeot is at a disadvantage against and list some examples.

Set Details:
* Maximum Speed and a Timid nature are used so Mega Pidgeot can outpace as many offensive threats as possible.
- List some viable threats that Mega Pidgeot outspeeds.

Usage Tips:
* Primarily use Mega Pigeot as a revenge killer and cleaner.
- Why exactly? Because it lacks defenses and should be brought in safely from a slow U-turn?
* Utilize U-turn on switch-ins such as Chansey, Heatran, Zapdos or Tyranitar to allow strong wallbreakers such as Choice Banded Diggersby in.
- Should be noted that U-turning out is a good way to also scout for potential switch-ins too. You don't lose anything from U-turning out if they do or don't since you're still gaining momentum.
- You should also mention about spamming Hurricane as much as possible because that is Mega Pidgeot's most reliable attack with No Guard and no drawbacks.
* Use Hurricane freely as even switch-ins have a chance of being confused. Can just turn it into this. ^
* Avoid status in general, especially paralysis.
- Should just mainly mention poison and paralysis, Mega Pidgeot doesn't really mind burns.
* Utilize Defog whenever Mega Pidgeot has a free turn to prevent teammates such as Porygon2, Chansey, and Staraptor from being chipped by hazards.
- With Mega Pidgeot's powerful Hurricane + great Special Attack and Speed, it can utilize Defog as an opportunity to clear the field of hazards thanks to the opposing Pokemon switching out into a better threat that'll get rid of Mega Pidgeot or wall it, thus Defogging freely on that switch (for example).
- Should remind players to be careful about No Guard's ability, since it also works against Mega Pidgeot.

Team Options:
* Pokemon like Diggersby and Meloetta synergize well with Mega Pidgeot because it can give them a free switch-in with U-turn. Choice Band Diggersby and Choice Specs Meloetta also wear down bulky cores on types such as Poison or Water that Mega Pidgeot struggles with, giving it an easier time cleaning late-game.
- You should also be mentioning how Diggersby helps more towards Electric, Rock, and Steel matchups for Mega Pidgeot as well. Diggersby and Meloetta I can kind of understand for Poison but I'm pretty iffy with Water specifically. Meloetta capitalizes on Mega Pidgeot's presence against Fighting teams.
* Porygon2 can take physical hits from offensive threats such as Choice Scarf Tapu-Bulu for Mega Pidgeot and chip defensive threats such as Celesteela into range with Discharge or Thunderbolt.
- No Toxic? Helps cripple foes and gets them down to KO range for Mega Pidgeot to finish off later. Thunder Wave is also nice so Mega Pidgeot can outspeed Scarf users as well.
- Also, Chansey being your primary status absorber to keep Mega Pidgeot from getting inflicted thanks to Natural Cure.
* Staraptor acts as a primary Defogger to keep Mega Pidgeot from taking Stealth Rocks damage and can also eliminate Pokemon who threaten Mega Pidgeot, like Alolan Muk.
- Slow U-turn bring it in safely.
- Should be noted that both of these are more restricted towards offensive teams.
* Porygon Z can help wear down the opposition to allow Mega Pidgeot to pick up kills later in the game.
- I'd say how both of these are good for wallbreaking together, especially Z-Conversion.

Other Options:
* Refresh allows Mega Pidgeot to act as the team's cleric.
- Not really. A cleric's job is to restore the team of status, Refresh can't do that. This is just mainly used for the Work Up set.

Tag me once you implemented the above changes so I can look through this again before stamping this

Usage Tips:
* Avoid switching onto Stealth Rocks unless necessary.
- Expand on this somewhat. Think of an example in which Mega Pidgeot has to switch in to take damage from Stealth Rock.

Other Options:
* A set utilizing Work Up can turn Mega Pidgeot into a deadly wallbreaker.
- Specify what moves should Mega Pidgeot be running in tandem with Work Up and why it's not as good as the set above. The same can be said about the others listed in the Other Options.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Normal
========

* A set utilizing Work Up, Hurricane, Roost, and Refresh can turn Mega Pidgeot into a deadly stallbreaker. Take note that the stallbreaker set isn't very effective because stall is very rare and other coverage options are more helpful against other archetypes.
* HP Ground allows Mega Pidgeot to prevent opposing offensive Heatrans from safely switching in but prevents it from using one of its more effective moves.
* Tailwind doubles the speed of powerful wallbreakers such as Choice Band Diggersby, turning them into devastating sweepers but is useless against fatter teams and limits Mega Pidgeot's coverage options.
* Substitute allows Mega Pidgeot to check a huge threat in Bisharp, mitigate prediction versus slower U-Turn Pokemon, and prevent status. Substitute can also be utilized on free turns when your opponent sacks a slower Pokemon weak to Mega Pidgeot's coverage such as Ferrothorn or Keldeo. However, Substitute is niche and weakens Mega Pidgeot's coverage.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Heatran**: Heatran counters sets lacking HP Ground and is capable of KOing Mega Pidgeot with any Fire-type STAB.
**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Rotom-Wash and Zapdos resist Hurricane and force it out with Electric STAB. Add faster electric types that threaten Pidgeot like Tapu Koko and Raichu-A
**Rock-types**: Rock-types such as Tyranitar can live multiple hits from Mega Pidgeot and either Pursuit trap or KO with Stone Edge.
**Revenge Killers**: Mega Pidgeot can be outsped and OHKO'd by Pokemon such as Greninja or Tapu Koko. Add choice scarf revenge killers like Victini
**Special Walls**: Specially defensive Pokemon such as Chansey and Cradily wall Mega Pidgeot and wear it down with their attacks or Toxic stall.
**Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rocks wear down Mega Pidgeot so that it can be revenge killed or forced out more easily by powerful priority or by faster sweepers.
**Status**: Paralysis renders Mega Pidgeot useless of revenge killing opposing Pokemon. Toxic poison easily wears down Mega Pidgeot as well.
*Add priority
QC 2/3 After implementing, change it into paragraph form, then you can get QC #3

Need to talk more about why Mega Lopunny is better. Mega Pidgeot is too slow, as it's outsped by Greninja and Tapu Koko, and it's too weak, unable to break through walls at all.

Hidden Power Ground should be in Moves not OO. Having Fire + Ground coverage for Steel is actually really good. Defog shouldn't be on the set this gen. Talk about it in Moves, but that's it. U-turn is too good right now.

Explain Big Pecks.

Don't put Meloetta in Team Options. It's already hard to build Mega Pidgeot, and now you're adding another rather underwhelming special attacker.

Take out the stallbreaker set from OO. HP Ground is in Moves now, so take it out of OO.

Normal
========

Mega Pidgeot is one of the best revenge killers on Normal, sporting unrivaled Speed and powerful excellent Special Attack. It helps immensly in the Fighting matchup by outpacing and OHKOing threats such as Infernape and Keldeo while also greatly improving the Bug and Grass matchups, heavily pressuring defensive threats on Grass like Ferrothorn and Mega Venusaur with Heat Wave and Hurricane, respectively. (not really necessary + clunky) Mega Pidgeot also pressures staples on Bug like Volcarona with its STAB Hurricane. Its ability, No Guard, offers great utility by boosting the accuracy of all its attacks, mainly most notably Hurricane. Unfortunately, this comes at a cost, (AC) as it also boosts makes sure foes' inaccurate attacks such as Hydro Pump, Focus Blast, and Stone Edge won't miss. Mega Pidgeot offers great team support through U-turn, boosting the team's momentum and bringing in powerful wallbreakers like Choice Specs Meloetta and Choice Band Diggersby as well as pivoting into out to Porygon2, Chansey and Staraptor, (AC) allowing them to take hits for Mega Pidgeot and recover. (remove asterisk) Mega Pidgeot also has access to utility such as Defog to alleviate relieve pressure off Staraptor, (comma) and it can also utilize Tailwind to help wallbreakers smash holes through the even faster, offensive teams. Unfortunately, Mega Pidgeot has very frail poor defenses and is easily revenge killed by faster threats and priority once it has been weakened. It also has a crippling weakness to Stealth Rock, (AC) which prevents limits its opportunities for Mega Pidgeot to switch in. Its movepool is also extremely limited, leaving it walled by Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Chansey, and Heatran. Mega Pidgeot also comes with the opportunity cost of not being able to use Mega Lopunny, (AC) which helps even out tough matchups against types such as Dark and Steel. Mega Lopunny has more threatening dual STAB that has perfect neutral STAB coverage as well as superior Speed that can utilized allows it to outpace metagame threats such as Greninja and Tapu Koko that Mega Pidgeot can't (RP) and helps out with tough matchups against types such as Dark and Steel. (not sold on this but i do think one sentence works better)

Moves

Hurricane is Mega Pidgeot's strongest STAB move and most spammable attack, (comma) that is being only resisted by Steel-, Rock-, and Electric-types. Heat Wave is a secondary attack that nails defensive and offensive Steel-types alike such as Ferrothorn and Bisharp, (AC) which threaten Normal-type teams. Roost gives Mega Pidgeot more longevity. Defog provides Normal with a secondary entry hazard remover, (AC) which is great for preventing chip damage on its teammates the team, while U-turn allows Mega Pidgeot to pivot out of switch-ins such as Heatran and Tyranitar while also gaining momentum. (U-turn is the first option though, Defog isnt even on the set) Hidden Power Ground allows Mega Pidgeot to prevent opposing offensive Heatrans Heatran from safely switching in but prevents it from using one of its more effective moves.

Set Details

Maximum Special Attack EVs are used to maximize Mega Pidgeot's attacking power. Maximum Speed and a Timid nature are used so Mega Pidgeot can outpace offensive threats such as Mega Gallade, Latios, and Keldeo. No Guard allows Mega Pidgeot to hit land inaccurate attacks such as Hurricane without fail. Pidgeotite is required for Pidgeot to evolve into Mega Pidgeot, (AC) as regular Pidgeot is not viable. Big Pecks is used to prevent foes from dropping Mega Pidgeot's Defense before it Mega Evolves.

Usage Tips
========

Primarily use Mega Pigeot as a revenge killer and cleaner, (AC) because it has very weak poor defenses. Therefore, only switch it in with a double switch, after one of its teammates has fainted, (AC) or through a slow U-turn. Use Roost whenever there is a possibility of a free turn to keep Mega Pidgeot healthy. Avoid switching onto into Stealth Rocks unless necessary for an important double switch or sack sacrifice. Utilize U-turn on switch-ins such as Chansey, Heatran, Zapdos, and Tyranitar to allow strong wallbreakers such as Choice Banded Diggersby to come in and to scout the opposing team. Keep in mind that Mega Pidgeot can heavily threaten Steel-, Bug-, and Grass-typed teams, (AC) so making double switches can seriously tilt the momentum in your favor. Use Roost whenever there is a possibility of a free turn to keep Mega Pidgeot healthy. Avoid status, mainly poison and paralysis. Utilize Defog whenever Mega Pidgeot has a free turn to prevent teammates such as Porygon2, Chansey, and Staraptor from being chipped by entry hazards. (again, Defog isn't on the set) For example, Mega Pidgeot can gain free turns from forcing foes such as Ferrothorn out and can capitalize on the free turn with Defog. Use Hurricane freely, (AC) as as it is Mega Pidgeot's most reliable attack with No Guard and even switch-ins have a chance of being confused. But However, be wary, (AC) as No Guard also works against Mega Pidgeot.

Team Options
========

Pokemon like Diggersby synergize well with Mega Pidgeot because it can give them a free switch-in with U-turn. Choice Band Diggersby helps with against Electric-, Rock-, and Steel-type teams, (AC) which Mega Pidgeot struggles against. Porygon2 can take physical hits from offensive threats such as Choice Scarf Tapu Bulu (RH) for Mega Pidgeot and chip defensive threats such as Celesteela into Mega Pidgeot's KO (?) range with Discharge or Thunderbolt. It can also Toxic defensive threats and whittle them into range for Mega Pidgeot to KO later on and paralyze Choice Scarf users with Discharge or Thunder Wave so that Mega Pidgeot can outpace them. Similarly, Chansey can assist in wearing down the opposition with Toxic stall, Stealth Rocks, and Seismic Toss for Mega Pidgeot to clean easier more easily. Thanks to its amazing Special Defense, (AC) you can bring it in on things foes that threaten Mega Pidgeot like Tapu Koko and Choice Scarf Nihilego. Finally, Chansey can freely switch into status moves with its ability Natural Cure, (AC) which prevents thus preventing Mega Pidgeot from being inflicted with status. Staraptor acts as a primary Defogger to keep Mega Pidgeot from taking Stealth Rocks Rock damage. It can also eliminate Pokemon who that threaten Mega Pidgeot (RC) like Alolan Muk and bring Mega Pidgeot in freely by means of a slow U-turn. Ditto works as a secondary revenge killer to eliminate set up offensive threats setup sweepers that outpace Mega Pidgeot. Porygon-Z (AH) can help wear down the opposition with a Z-Converion’s Z-Conversion set's wallbreakering power to allow Mega Pidgeot to pick up kills later in the game.

Tailwind doubles the speed of powerful wallbreakers such as Choice Band Diggersby, turning them into devastating sweepers, (AC) but is useless against fatter bulkier teams and limits Mega Pidgeot's coverage options. Substitute allows Mega Pidgeot to check a huge threat in Bisharp, mitigate prediction versus slower U-turn Pokemon, and prevent status. Substitute can also be utilized on free turns when your opponent sacks sacrifices a slower Pokemon weak to Mega Pidgeot's coverage such as Ferrothorn or Keldeo. However, Substitute is niche and weakens limits Mega Pidgeot's coverage.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Heatran**: Heatran counters sets lacking HP Hidden Power Ground and is capable of KOing Mega Pidgeot with any Fire-type STAB attack.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Rotom-Wash and Zapdos resist Hurricane and force it Mega Pidgeot out with Electric STAB. Other Electric-types such as Tapu Koko and Alolan Raichu can outpace Mega Pigeot and threaten it with their Electric-type STAB moves.

**Priority**: Priority from Pokemon such as Weavile and Bisharp can KO a weakened Mega Pidgeot.

**Rock-types**: Rock-types such as Tyranitar can live survive multiple hits from Mega Pidgeot and either Pursuit trap it or KO it with Stone Edge.

**Revenge Killers**: Mega Pidgeot can be outsped and OHKO'd OHKOed by Pokemon such as Greninja and Tapu Koko.

**Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rocks wear Rock wears down Mega Pidgeot so that it can be revenge killed or forced out more easily by powerful priority or by faster sweepers.

**Status**: Paralysis renders Mega Pidgeot useless and incapable of revenge killing opposing Pokemon. Toxic poison easily wears down Mega Pidgeot as well.
