Nihilego @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Power Gem
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Stealth Rock / Sludge Wave

Nihilego finds its place on Poison teams as a powerful offensive option capable of setting Stealth Rock for the team and as the type's premier Choice Scarf user. Using its speed and coverage, it can revenge kill huge threats such as Garchomp, Kyurem-B, and Mega Charizard X, while Beast Boost allows it to serve as a late-game cleaner once its checks and counters have been taken out or worn down. Since Poison teams are usually restricted to having two flexible team slots, running Stealth Rock on Choice Scarf Nihilego is common for role compression, as it allows Nidoking to use another coverage option in Thunderbolt to hit Mantine or grant another teammate in the other flexible slot like Salazzle, which cannot set Stealth Rock, more flexibility. Nihilego appreciates Poison's defensive backbone, mainly Toxapex, which can act as a blanket check to physical attackers that Nihilego hates dealing with due to its low Defense while also proving Toxic Spikes support. Nidoking also complements Nihilego by breaking through bulkier Steel-type Pokemon such as Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn that it struggles to damage, while they both form a core that can easily take on Flying teams.

Nihilego takes its place on Poison teams as a powerful offensive option capable of setting Stealth Rock for the team while also acting as the type's premier Choice Scarf user.

Using its speed and coverage, it can revenge kill huge threats such as Garchomp, Kyurem-B, and Mega Charizard X for the type.
- talk about how beast boost makes it a good late-game cleaner

Since Poison teams are usually restricted to having two flexible team slots, running Stealth Rock on a Choice Scarf Nihilego is common as role compression as it allows Nidoking to use another coverage option in Thunderbolt to hit Mantine, or allow more flexibility for another teammate like Salazzle who cannot set Stealth Rock in the other flexible slot, while still allowing Nihilego as an effective Choice Scarf, but this means it will have to play carefully around being locked into Stealth Rock.
- rewrite this section, condense it to role compression+allowing nidoking to run more coverage

Nihilego appreciates Poison's defensive core as it supports Nihilego by switching in for it against Pokemon that Nihilego cannot do much against or when it is locked into Stealth Rock.
- give examples of what it can not do much against and how its teammates help w/ tht. maybe focus on one defensive teammate, like pex who can provide tspikes support and act as a blanket check to an array of physical attackers.

Nidoking also compliments it by breaking through bulkier Steel-type Pokemon such as Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn that Nihilego struggles to damage.
- also talk about how the two form an anti-flying core.

Nihilego takes finds its place on Poison teams as a powerful offensive option capable of setting Stealth Rock for the team while also acting and as the type's premier Choice Scarf user. Using its speed and coverage, it can revenge kill huge threats such as Garchomp, Kyurem-B, and Mega Charizard X for the type, while it’s Beast Boost allows it to serve as a late-game (AH) cleaner once it’s its checks and counters have been taken out or worn down. Since Poison teams are usually restricted to having two flexible team slots, running Stealth Rock on a Choice Scarf Nihilego is common as for role compression, (AC) as it allows Nidoking to use another coverage option in Thunderbolt to hit Mantine or allow more flexibility for grant another teammate in the other flexible slot like Salazzle, (AC) who which cannot set Stealth Rock, (AC) in the other flexible slot more flexibility. Nihilego appreciates Poison’s Poison's defensive backbone, namely mainly (unless Toxapex and Toxapex only, but then the wording "defensive backbone" is weird) Toxapex, which can act as a blanket check to physical attackers that Nihilego hates dealing with due to its low Defense while also proving Toxic Spikes support. Nidoking also compliments it complements Nihilego by breaking through bulkier Steel-type Pokemon such as Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn that Nihilego it struggles to damage, while they both form a core that can easily take on Flying teams.
