majestic pride.
Structural changes and additional rules from last year's event:
- Ties - By implementing an even number of playable slots this year as opposed to last year's odd number of slots, we introduce ties in the group stages. In the event that two opposing teams draw against each other during a round (4 teams wins and 4 losses, in this case), this would give both teams 1 point each (while retaining 2 points for the winning teams and 0 for the losing teams per round). This allows for all teams to have a greater chance of success as it helps everyone get further, and thus reducing the gap between the top scoring teams and the lesser teams.
- Replays - To encourage competitive exposure to the tiers within the PS community, and so that everyone is on an even playing field, all matches now must have replays recorded. If neither player posts replays of the match by the end of the week, both players will suffer an automatic game loss.
- Formats - Missed Randbats from PSPL II? Here's a comeback, but instead is featured as an optional choice (alongside PU and LC). Basically, each manager picks from RB, LC, PU for their matchup for the remaining 2 slots (they can't pick one of these options twice, so it will either be pu and lc played, pu and randbat played, or lc and randbat played). This strikes a balance between fun and competitiveness without going 100% in either direction. All matches will be a best of 1, except for Random Battles, which will be best of 3.
- Updated Policy on Ghosting - Acts of ghosting have been subject to more hardline punishments in recent times, and this event is by no means an exception. Any convicted acts of ghosting will result in an immediate disqualification of this tournament, as well as a ban in place from participating next year. This ban will extend to BLT events (and vice-versa, meaning that BLT's bans will apply here as well), as well as possibly across any other big PS! forum community tournaments. For those unaware of what constitutes ghosting, check here.

Tiers
6 most popular* official metagames + 2 from (Random Battles, LC, or PU) for a total of 8 metas.
The final two metagames are decided on by the managers from each individual matchup.
For each matchup, Ubers/OU/RU/UU/NU/DOU (6 slots) are required. The remaining two slots are decided by letting each manager pick from RandBat, LC, PU. They can't pick one of these options twice, so it will either be PU and LC played, PU and RB played, or LC and RB played.
When managers submit lineups, they're required to list the three metas for the last two slots in order of preference in a list numbered 1-3 (1 being the first choice).

When managers submit lineups, they're required to list the three metas for the last two slots in order of preference in a list numbered 1-3 (1 being the first choice).
There are 3 possible outcomes:
- Each manager has a different metagame in their first slot: We just use those two metagames.
- Example:
- Team A sends 1. LC, 2. PU, 3. RB
- Team B sends 1. PU, 2. RB, 3. LC
- LC and PU are played
- Each manager sends the same list: We use the first two metas.
- Example:
- Team A sends 1. LC, 2. PU, 3. RB
- Team B sends 1. LC, 2. PU, 3. RB
- LC and PU are played
- First options are the same, but disagree on #2: play first meta and pick randomly for last
- Example:
- Team A sends 1. LC, 2. RB, 3. PU
- Team B sends 1. LC, 2. PU, 3. RB
- LC is played. The hosts choose randomly between PU and RB.

Tournament Format
The tournament will begin with a round-robin group stage. Each group contains four teams. The top two teams from each group in the group stage will move on to a single elimination, bracket-style tournament to decide the champion of PSPL!
Who can play?
Each room will play ten players each week—eight starting slots and two substitutes. At least EIGHT of those slots must be ROOM VOICES AND OVER, while TWO slots do not have to be a ranked user. If room auth wants to play, they should get priority over regs.
New rule: 1 global voice or higher (that isn't already auth in your room) per team. This means you may have 2 "wild-cards" and 1 global to join your room's team if you're having trouble fielding a team of only room auth.
A room's wildcard slot(s) may change from week to week, but a single player may not play for multiple rooms. This also applies to managers. However, if a manager owns a room they're not playing for, they may be an "involved owner" in a different room so we can keep things running smoothly.
We have a list of roomauth in each room, which is essentially the roster for the "must be a ranked user" slots. If you're using someone not on your /roomauth list as a ranked user, the owner will need to pm the hosts (me or Scpinion) and tell us why they earned rank in the room. Do not try and game the system, or you will be laughed at and punished for being unable to compete in a fun community tournament without cheating...
Prizes?
The winning room gets their room moved to the top of the room list (alongside rooms like Lobby and Tournaments) for a temporary amount of time. They also get bragging rights for the next year!
Lineup submission / When does the tour start?
Managers must have their week one lineup submitted by June 10th and before Friday of each subsequent week. We'll post matchups on Sunday of each week and you'll have one week to complete the matches. Week one starts June 12th.
Managers, when submitting your lineup please use the following format:
- Send a forum PM to me/scpinion.
- Pick the desired two slots based on the formatting of how the last two metagames are decided.
- After we give you the results of what the two final slots will be for your matchups, send us your lineups. PLEASE TAG THE PLAYERS IN YOUR LINEUPS. This will save us a ton of time when making posts for matchups in future threads.
- Rinse and repeat throughout the later weeks (use that same forum PM as well -- it's much easier to keep up with exactly 32 convos throughout this tournament rather than 321 convos).
32 rooms have signed up for this tournament and the field is set! See below for the groups and Week 1 Team Matchups.
