Skuntank @ Black Sludge / Lum Berry
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Defog
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch / Crunch
- Poison Jab

Skuntank is one of the most splashable and versatile Pokemon in the PU metagame, able to fill several key roles for any team it's placed on thanks to a good offensive and utility movepool, making it one of the few Pokemon that can fit on every archetype. Although Skuntank has a few viable sets, the physical Defog set is the most used, which lets it act as the tier's premier Defogger and Pursuit trapper, trapping foes like Haunter and Alolan Raichu. Skuntank pressures Ghost- and Psychic-types so much that many, such as Palossand and Mesprit, run Colbur Berry to not be KOed or crippled by it. Skuntank is also blessed with a typing that complements its ability to remove entry hazards, absorbing Toxic Spikes upon entering the field, and it can trap the most common Stealth Rock setter, Mesprit. This allows Skuntank to differentiate itself from other hazard removers, like Hitmonchan and Swanna, which are weak to either Toxic Spikes or Stealth Rock. Skuntank can also aid teammates by revenge killing weaker, faster foes with Sucker Punch, which helps slower teams pick off faster threats. Skuntank can also be unpredictable by using moves like Memento and Taunt over Defog if the team already has hazard removal. All of these factors show in how frequently it is used on both the PU ladder and in tournaments.

The writing that's there is mostly fine other than the first sentence, which is one of the worst things I've ever read in my life (only half joking). Actually just in general, some sentences are super run on and annoying and some end halfway through, I would really really recommend reading this out loud, if for no other reason than the sanity of the GPer who'll have to rewrite all of this. Other than that though, this is a far cry from what you see in the spotlight examples or other ones currently in progress. There's not much here about its meta presence, it's more like "this is what skuntank does" as opposed to "this is why skuntank is good and how it fares in the meta". It still reads just like an analysis, except in this case it's the overview rather than the moves section. I don't want to hold these to super high standards of competitive depth, but there's really just none here.
And no, replays aren't required unless you happen to have good ones
e: talked more on discord and it's good now

Although Skuntank has a few viable sets,(AC) the physical Defog set is the most used, and which lets it act as the tier's premier Defogger and Pursuit trapper, trapping opponents foes like Haunter and Alolan Raichu. Skuntank pressures Ghost- and Psychic-types so much that many, such as Palossand and Mesprit, run Colbur Berry to not be trapped KOed (they can still be trapped by Pursuit, it just won't KO) by it. Skuntank is also blessed with a typing that compliments complements (compliment = congratulate; complement = to bring into completion) its ability to remove entry hazards, absorbing Toxic Spikes upon entering the field, while also trapping and it can trap the most common Stealth Rock setter, Mesprit.
