[READ ME] Tips for Simple Hack Checks

Language: English
Species: Sneasel
OT: Rosa
ID No.: 05595
IVs: 31/31/31/xx/31/31
EVs (optional):
Ability: Keen Eye
Pokemon's name: Sneasel (no nickname)
Gender: Female
Level: 1
Pokeball: Moon Ball
Shiny?: No
Pentagon?: Yes
Moves: Fake Out, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Pursuit
Nature: Jolly
Region of origin: Lumiose City
Characteristic: Likes to thrash about

Other comments (optional): I was planning on breeding Sneasel for the upcoming Weakness tourny and while rummaging through my PC box within X to see if I had a Sneasel to start the breeding process I happen to find this Pokemon. Now I forgot where I got it from and I seen one instance of this OT/ID combo on Smogon here so I'm wondering if this Sneasel legit and okay to use for breeding.

Couldn't find any reference to it anywhere, nor could I find anything fundamentally wrong with it. The OT that matched and had the correct IGN was from a TSV hatch, so it's possible that whoever ran that thread might know how to track down the original owner, but I doubt that this individual is active enough for such. It's possible that the OT was listed on Smogon's TSV list (I checked all other TSV Databases), but the list has shed inactive users and is no longer complete and thus OT's from that time period may be hard to find. However, since you don't where it came from, it's probably safer to not use it for breeding, but there's nothing wrong with it, and Moon Ball Sneasel's are common enough.

It is hacked. Shaymin that are in Cherish Balls all have Classic Ribbons. And I'm pretty sure the only way to get Shiny Shaymin is by catching in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, so it wouldn't be possible to caught in a Cherish Ball.

I don't see anything that explicitly means it's hacked, Shiny Zapdos from gen 1 is technically legal, however with it being Hidden Power Ice, it's much more likely that it's hacked, especially if the IVs are something like 31/even/30/31/31/31 (which is what I suspect them to be). But if it was obtained by someone really trustworthy or whoever obtained it has really solid proof, it could be legitimate. If it's from a shady person or you got it from Wondertrade or GTS or such though, it's far more safe to write it off as a hack.

I don't have a good feeling about this one but still, could it be legitimate ?

It's strongly unlikely that this Pokemon is legitimate. Virtual Console Pokemon when transferred only have a guaranteed 3 31 IVs. Furthermore, when generated in the Virtual Console, they have to have a 10 DV in Atk/Speed/Special, and one of a handful of DVs for Def. When they have all the corresponding DVs, they can be transferred to be shiny. Not only did this individual successfully SR or use the 8F Glitch (which to be fair, is still a bit sketchy though still legal), but they also were able to get RNG to give them another 31 IV and HP Ice. Unless you can get VC Proof of this Pokemon, I wouldn't trade it here.

Terrakion has not been released in any events that make it so that it could have the Premier Ribbon. Even if it was released in any event, it would probably be in a Cherish Ball and would more than likely have the Classic Ribbon, as that is the ribbon most event Pokemon have. This is a very much a hacked Pokemon.

Language: ENG
Species: Lunala
OT: There are no characters in this field, which is why I'm posting here.
ID No.: 980721
IVs: All 31
EVs (optional): Full SpAtk, a few in Def and SpDef, almost 252 in HP
Name: Lunala
Level: 100, met at "Apparently Lv. 55"
Pokeball: Master
Pentagon/Cross: Cross
Moves: Psyshock, Moonblast and Moongeist maxed, Focus Blast at 5
Nature: Modest
Region of origin: Alola, Altar of the Moone
Characteristic: Somewhat Vain
Ribbons: Alola Champ, Battle Royal Master, Battle Tree Great, Battle Tree Master
Arrived from Wonder Trade.

So this gal is obviously hacked, unless the Battle Royal and Battle Tree have been patched to allow fun pokemon, but the blank OT creeps me out. Can it mess with the save file?

Pretty blatant hack. As far as I know, it won't screw with your save file. You can wonder trade it out, if you want.

I just wanted to add on a few more OTs that shows hacked Pokemon:
* AuSLove.TV or AuSLove.TV E (very bad hacks such as shiny Victinis)
* TomBrownYT
* KAMINO
* RoC (seen a lot of times)

There could be more. These are either Youtubers or twitch users that use Wonder Trade and Link Trade to distribute Hacked Pokemons on Festival Plaza.
I have encountered Shiny DBHA Lugia with OT AuSLove.TV and someone has encountered a Shiny Victini with that OT. Regarding TomBrownYT, he is a Youtuber, and he distributes hacks.

I have been going on Festival Plaza looking out for hacked OTs nowadays. Hopes that this information helps. :)

EDIT: Added a few more. :)
I wanted to add on to my list of hacked OTs.

* Tapuplay.tv
* PKSM and PKHex (Self-explanatory)
* POKE FLEXII (Gen 6 Shiny Landorus with less than 3 perfect IVs)

Possible hacked OTs:
* Ka Ninja
* Ray
* PokeNursery
* Charlotte
* Arafath

Pokemons with nicknames that prove it is hacked:
* tiny.cc/mkl (Marshadow and tons of Shiny Aipom with that nickname)

I am still going around looking for bad hacks.
I have compiled an album for reference. :)

NOTE: Most of the images don't have summaries because they cancelled the trade before I can take a picture. :(

I don't plan to do anything more than battles/trades with friends, and you can never guarantee if a Pokemon is hacked or not, but I received a Milotic in a trade and I'm wondering if it's legal at the least.
It's a Shiny Milotic nicknamed Milo.
Gender ♂
6 IV
Ability is Competitive
Item is leftovers
Stats:
HP - 394/394
Attack - 140
Sp. Attack - 299
Def - 194
Sp. Def - 314
Speed - 199
(It is max level, and it appears to be EV trained in Sp. Atk and HP)
Only ribbon is the Alola Champion one from beating the game.
It says it was met apparently at lvl 1, so I'm assuming it was bred.

Moves - Ice beam, Hydro Pump, Recover, Scald

The only thing questionable about it is the fact it's a 6 IV shiny. You can never know for sure if a Pokemon is hacked or not unless it is yours, but is it legal at the very least?

I definitely don't want to release it, but if anything about it is illegal/impossible I won't use it outside single player mode. Thank you.

Looks to be legal. As long as the ball isn't something like Safari or Cherish you could probably use it with no qualms.

Where did you get it, and what's the OT?

The ball looks like a dive ball I think (it's sky blue with white on top), and I suppose that makes sense given it's a water type.
I got it in a trade in Pokemon Sun, the OT is Sensy.
I'm glad it's legal, though. I'll be able to use it for at least uses against friends and such. My bad though, I apologize for forgetting these details.

I would like to report Teddiursa and Aipom are missing from the list of Safari Ball Pokemon when they can be found on the Emerald Safari Zone. Magnemite, Beldum, Solrock, Lunatone, Voltorb, and Bronzor are also available to be bred using the Gen 7 mechanics, albeit not with HA

Added Teddiursa as Aipom was already there and the others are covered in TM's sheet. Thanks!

There isn't anything particularly screaming out 'HACK' in either of those two Pokemon; however, since they were obtained through Wonder Trade I wouldn't be so sure about it. They seem fine otherwise, so it's up to you I guess

There doesn't seem to be anything directly illegal about it, would you mind telling me where you got it from? (Like did you get it from Wondertrade/GTS/Random Festival Plaza trade, or did you get it from a particular user on Smogon/Pokemon Showdown)
