You walk towards a stone henge, having spotted a small stone hut right beside it that is the residence of the Gym Leader. You've long heard of a youkai who decided to dabble in a human's game just because he's bored, and after being relieved of Gym duties yourself, you figured it's a good time to get to know the more eccentric bunch of your former colleagues....

As you walked closer to the henge, you can feel as if these rocks simply jutted, or grew, out of the ground, as if they've stood there for eons, without work of man. Even the beams above the pillars seemed to be molded, not placed. But.... how?

"The answer, of course, lies in languages,"
"Gyah!!"

You jumped in shock, as the Leader appears beside you out of nowhere.

"Hi, I'm Wukong. I assume you're here for the Badge?"

You nodded, hands gripping your canteen and its secret stash of spiked "lemon tea". His face splits into a grin.

"Let's get started then!"

He ran ahead, touching a pillar as he crossed the threshold. The whole henge immediately glowed with.... Unown runes?

"Come on, let's have a blast! As long as we battle within the Rock Henge, we'll be fine! I'll even treat you to peach wine if you win!"

Wait, how does he know...?

Format
  • 5 vs 5 Doubles, GL B7P5
  • 96-hour DQ (once someone goes over that, I'll usually leave a VM asking them to look at it. If their recent activity is twice over the time, a straight no-warning DQ may be requested by opponent)
  • 2 Abilities
  • 2/5 Recoveries/Chills
  • 7 Substitutions per round (excluding KO subs of course)
  • 1 Mega-Evolution
  • Switch = OK
  • Items = MEGA-STONES ONLY
  • Turn Order = COIN-FLIP
Arena mechanics
  1. All Rock-types get Rock Head if they don't already have it.
  2. The move Rock Slide has 30% chance to summon Stealth Rock onto the field instead of the original 30% flinch chance.
  3. All defensive moves listed under Rock STAB gain +4 Priority instead of the original +1.
  4. No external rock, water, or grass sources.
  5. No seismic combos allowed.
  6. Camouflage turns user into Rock-type, Nature Power calls Ancient Power, and Secret Power may lower Speed by one (1) stage.

Vali Lucifer, "White Dragon Emperor" - Aerodactyl (M)

Born to a lineage of Aerodactyl, with lineages going back as far as time immemorial, Vali was one of the few exceptional case born with great potential. But only one of them. And so he struggled to rise far and above those before it, with the competitive spirit beyond what most would even comprehend. He would use every bit of strength at his disposal just to further his training, and to beat every strong opponent that not just stood in his way, but also those he actively seek out. Currently his long-term project involves resurrecting God to Its True Forme, and challenging it to combat.

Nature: Jolly (+15% Speed, + Accuracy, -1 SpA)

Type:
Rock Type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.

Abilities:

Type: Passive
The use of magic power to substitute for life force means Vali does not take recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash. (This does not prevent recoil damage from Struggle.)

Ability 2: Pressure
Type: Passive
Vali's lineage and raw power means his presence fills the air with intense anxiety, and any damaging or status attack launched at him would cost the his opponents two (2) more energy to perform without sufficient will to overcome his.

Ability 3: Unnerve (Hidden)
Type: Passive
The Pokemon's presence causes immense tension in the opponent, preventing them from eating a held Berry. Natural Gift may still be used.

Ability 4: Tough Claws (Mega-Evo only)
Type: Toggle
Vali infuses his magic power to enhance the power of all of its contact attacks by two (2) BAP.

Leatherback - Carracosta(M)

Threat Category IV. When traveling on land, Leatherback uses its fore-knuckles to drag its body. Its hard, ridged carapace allows it to withstand great amounts of damage without falter. Leatherback excels at unexpectedly swift movements under the rain and in water, where its size lends to the deception of its true speed and maneuverability.

Nature: Quiet (+1 Special Attack, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)

Type:
Water type: Water STAB; Ignores arena restrictions on Water attacks that require an external water source. Evasive Diving reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.

Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Ability 2: Sturdy
Type: Passive
Furthermore, Leatherback's body is solidly constructed, reducing the Base Attack Power from an opponents incoming attacks by one (1). The effect is amplified on OHKO Moves, which are reduced by ten (10) Base Attack Power.

Ability 3: Swift Swim (Unlocked)
Leatherback can move deceptively fast in slick, rainy conditions, doubling (x2) its Speed in the rain.

Yamarashi (Alolan-Golem) (M)

Threat Category III. Thought to be terminated, Yamarashi makes a return after ingesting magnetic rocks and learning to throw its brethren with them.

Nature: Sassy (+1 Special Defense, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Electric type: Electric STAB; immune to paralysis status.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Magnet Pull
Type: Trigger
Steel-types cannot switch out in a Switch=OK battle while Yamarashi is on the field without the use of Baton Pass, U-turn, or Volt Switch. In addition, Yamarashi can generate a electro-magnetic field that can attract or repulse Steel-type Pokemon. Only the most recent Magnet Pull command on a target will affect them.
Command: Activate Magnet Pull (Attract target) - 5 En - The target's contact will fail against targets other than the user of Magnet Pull (Attract) for three (3) actions.
Command: Activate Magnet Pull (Repulse target) - 5 En - The target's contact attacks will fail against the user of Magnet Pull (Repulse) for three (3) actions.

Ability 2: Sturdy
Type: Passive
Yamarashi's body is solidly constructed, reducing the Base Attack Power from an opponents incoming attacks by one (1). The effect is amplified on OHKO Moves, which are reduced by ten (10) Base Attack Power.

Ability 3: Galvanize (unlocked)
Type: Toggle
By default, Yamarashi's Normal-type moves are Electric-type moves, and have an additional two (2) BAP boost. When toggled, Yamarashi's Normal-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2) instead. Only Normal-typed moves changed by Galvanize receive this boost. If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

Stratagem - Erza (U)

A swordsman wields the blade with graceful precision, just as Erza uses her attacks with dangerous beauty. She walked in on one of Gray and Natsu’s brawls, and the resulting free-for-all wore on for half a day before Zheng can subdue her with a Pokeball. Unknowingly for her, that fight left a lasting impression on the two – they’re cautious almost to the point of fearful whenever in her company since then. Wendy and Charla looks up to her as a role model, though, and it was Erza who took care of them, even though she was newer to the family.

Chargestone Cave is the hallowed ground for all of Erza's ancestry, yet she decides that she will withhold her instincts to evolve for the sake of her family. Small but close-knit, everyone looks up to Erza as the big sister, even though her quirks with boys sometimes astonished the girls and make the shy ones (like Juvia and Wendy) blush. After a series of long, drawn out clashes with Mirajane, both of them seemed to have settled to a cordial relationship, mutually agreeing to avoid mentioning the past conflicts, opting instead to look after the girls together and knock the boys down a peg or two when they get too loud.

It wasn't until the strawberry cake event that Erza finally found the courage to overcome her fear. The truth was, she was scared of shouldering her responsibility being a full-grown Stratagem, relying more and more on the rest of the family despite the lads' deferment to her leadership and skills. Resolving to do whatever it takes to protect herself and those around her, she secretly learn how to manipulate the nature from Mirajane, and the two became very fast friends. Although, Mirajane seems to have picked up some of Erza's racy quirks as well...

Nature: Modest (+1 SpA, -1 Atk)

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Fast Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Protect, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by 2 BAP during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Levitate
Type: Passive
This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the all seismic moves. Earth Power will have 3 less BAP. Dig and Dive can still strike a Levitating Pokemon, but only if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Other Ground moves can still hit.

Ability 2: Technician
Type: Passive
This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2).

Ability 3: Mold Breaker (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)

Rias Gremory, "Princess of Crimson Ruin" - Tyrantrum (F)

Rias is born to a rare family - one in which both her parents were present to take care of her. Before her, they already had a son - who grew up, evolved, and went away to stake his own territory. Being the younger "princess", Rias enjoyed all the privileges - and hardships - that her life as a future empress has to offer, before a cataclysm caused the death of herself and her whole family millions of years before the time of humans.

Being resurrected by Zheng, she is given to and named by Tanner as her Trainer, who somehow also hold another Jaw Fossil that can't be revived - probably because the piece held remnants of both her parents. It is rumoured that Rias' brother walks the earth again this same era that she does, however Rias does not know where to find him.

Evolving into her grown form, Rias still continues the search for her brother. And then she met Issei, then a young Charmander who knew nothing much about the world except the fire in his belly.... Who is just one of her "peerage" of Pokemons, each with stories of their own. She decides that it is high time she declared herself King, and she readies herself for the challenges of her very own monarchy by training relentlessly.

Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk) - caring but stern

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Rias is fast on her mind to add an additional level of Priority on Protect. She also takes reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, and is immune to Sandstorm damage. Her natural magic can mold and build rocks, ignoring Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.
Dragon type: Dragon STAB; -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist. Her powerful will allows Thrash or Outrage to be undisrupted by oncoming damage.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Strong Jaw
Type: Passive
Rias' thick fang and massive jaws give her incredibly powerful biting attacks, increasing the BAP of all biting attacks by three (3) BAP. Full List: Bite, Crunch, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Poison Fang, Thunder Fang.

Ability 2: Rock Head (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Rias' body and willpower fortifies herself in battle, preventing it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.

You brought 3 mons capable of Mega-Evolving :/ Makes me wish I had a Tyranitar ready to go... Aerodactyl / Tyrantrum / Stratagem / Gigalith / Cradily

*growls*

"A new weapon... And a new battle scenario to test this balance breaker. Good."
Vali Lucifer (Aerodactyl w/ Aerodactylite) with Pressure and Unnerve, the latter ready to change into Tough Claws upon Mega-Evolution.
Issurector (Gigalith) with Sand Force and Sand Stream, ready to activate the latter.

"All right friends, if we just keep our cool, and stick to my strategy, we can win this!"

Inner Focus, Steadfast
"Let the light of the Aura shine down upon you!"

Gardevoir: [Mega Evolve] Hyper Voice~Dazzling Gleam~Hyper Voice
If Wide Guard is up on the opponent's side of the field, then use Thunderbolt (Aerodactyl) that action and push back.
If you are in the midair phase of Sky Drop when you are to move, then use Thunderbolt (Aerodactyl) that action and push back.
[2 Subs] If Aerodactyl is in the evasive stage of a Damaging Evasive move OR under the effects of a P/E move, then use Focus Blast (Gigalith) that action and push back.
[KO] If Aerodactyl is knocked out when you are to move, the Focus Blast (Gigalith) for all remaining actions.

Lucario: Flash Cannon (Aerodactyl)~Flash Cannon (Aerodactyl)~Flash Cannon (Aerodactyl)
If Aerodactyl is under the effects of a successful P/E move, then use Aura Sphere (Gigalith) that action.
If Aerodactyl is in the evasive stage of fly when you are to attack, then use Sky Uppercut (Aerodactyl) that action.
If you are under the effects of Torment when you are to move A2, then use Thunder Punch (Aerodactyl) that action.
[KO] If Aerodactyl is knocked out when you are to move, then Aura Sphere (Gigalith) for all remaining actions.

EM says I should get my crap together, so I need to do this even if this means another 5-hour-sleep night. Repeating orders from previous posts regarding Mega-Evolution and activating Abilities.

"Take back your blows once I've Divided you."
Vali Lucifer (Aerodactyl w/ Aerodactylite @ Pressure, Tough Claws, Rock Head): [Mega-Evolve] Bide > Hold > Release

Insurrector (Gigalith @ Sand Force, Sand Stream): [ACTIVATE: Sand Stream] Heavy Slam (Robin-Mega-Gardevoir) > Stealth Rock > Heavy Slam (Robin-Mega-Gardevoir)

Time to play the long haul! Switch phase initiated!

Erza (Stratagem @ Levitate, Technician, Rock Head) and Gogmagog's Right (Cradily @ Suction Cups, Storm Drain, Rock Head) coming in. Counterswitch?

Huge Power can still do a number though, I wager. Now how to pull off the Gardevoir take-down.....

"Threat level reassessment complete, calculating fastest method for take-down.... Efficiency at five point nine percent."
Flash Cannon > Ancient Power > Flash Cannon
IF Robin-Gardevoir is KO'ed, THEN alternate Flamethrower and Fire Blast @ Pandora-Necturna instead.
IF Robin-Gardevoir is ordered to use Pain Split on Erza-Stratagem AND Erza-Stratagem is NOT Taunted, THEN replace that action with Protect (self) instead.

IF Robin-Gardevoir is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves, THEN replace that action with Fire Blast @ Pandora-Necturna instead.
IF Robin-Gardevoir is under the effects of Double Team, THEN replace that action with Heat Wave instead.

Energy Ball > Seed Bomb > Energy Ball, all @ Robin-Gardevoir
IF Robin-Gardevoir is KO'ed, THEN alternate Rock Slide and Stone Edge @ Pandora-Necturna instead.
IF Robin-Gardevoir is ordered to use Pain Split on Gogmagog's Right-Cradily AND Gogmagog's Right-Cradily is NOT Taunted, THEN replace that action with Protect (self) instead.

IF Robin-Gardevoir is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves, THEN replace that action with Stone Edge @ Pandora-Necturna instead.
IF Robin-Gardevoir is under the effects of Endure AND NOT under the effects of Infestation, THEN replace that action with Infestation @ Robin-Gardevoir instead.
IF Gogmagog's Right-Cradily is unable to use Energy Ball, THEN replace Energy Ball with Sludge Bomb @ Robin-Gardevoir instead.

"It's gonna take more than that to break our bonds!"

Gardevoir: Draining Kiss (Stratagem)~Destiny Bond + Destiny Bond combo~Cooldown (Hyper Voice)

Necturna: Gravity~Power Whip (Stratagem)~Leaf Blade (Stratagem)

If Stratagem is at or below 10 HP when you are to move, then use Absorb (Stratagem) that action.
If Stratagem is knocked out when you are to move, then use Power Whip (Cradily) that action.

My turn to get greedy.

"Calculating fastest takedown method.... Calculation completed. Preparing contingency from increased gravitational forces."

"The weight of my armour won't overburden me - I've trained in them for these past years!"
Erza (Stratagem @ Levitate, Technician, Rock Head): Fire Blast + Fire Blast {Flame Empress' Triple-Cross-Strike!!} > combo cooldown (Fire Blast) > Flamethrower + Flamethrower {Flame Empress' Sword Hurl!!}, all @ Pandora-Necturna

Gogmagog's Right (Cradily @ Suction Cups, Storm Drain, Rock Head): Worry Seed (Underminer-Diggersby) > Pain Split (Underminer-Diggersby) > Barrier
IF Pandora-Necturna has 18 HP or less when Gogmagog's Right-Cradily is to act, THEN replace that action with Brine + Brine instead, pushing remaining queue back.
