NU Scrafty

[OVERVIEW]

Scrafty is a competent sweeper in NU with sustainable bulk to aid it in setting up. It gives unprepared teams a hard time with its great offensive typing and useful coverage options like Iron Tail. Moxie is one of the contributing factors to Scrafty's sweeping capabilties, boosting its Attack stat by one stage every time it KOes a foe, enabling it to fully sweep if it can outrun all of the opponent's Pokemon. Furthermore, its other two abilities, Shed Skin and Intimidate, can also be useful in certain situations; however, Moxie is by far the superior ability in most cases. Scrafty has a wide variety of setup moves, such as Dragon Dance and Bulk Up, making it unpredictable and versatile. It also has a great STAB combination in Dark / Fighting, covering weaknesses to Psychic- and Ghost-types. Unfortunately, due to having a somewhat lackluster base 95 Attack stat, it requires an Attack boost from Dragon Dance to efficiently sweep. Furthermore, Scrafty bears a pitiful base 58 Speed stat, meaning that it can easily be revenge killed by any common Choice Scarf user. In addition,(AC) many common Pokemon that use Choice Scarf also outrun Scrafty after a +1 boost in Speed, such as Emboar, Hitmonlee, Dodrio, and Scyther, making it highly susceptible to being revenge killed. Even after Speed boosts, there are Pokemon that naturally outrun Scrafty that can threaten it heavily, such as Whimsicott and Sceptile.

Moves
========

Dragon Dance raises Scrafty's Attack and Speed by one stage, making it Scrafty's best setup move. Knock Off is always key in its moveset, being able to remove the foe's item while dealing generous damage. It also hits Psychic- and Ghost-types that might try to switch in against Drain Punch super effectively. High Jump Kick is Scrafty's strongest Fighting-type STAB move, dealing massive damage to any unresistant foe at +1. Drain Punch is a reliable STAB attack that also heals 50% of the damage dealt, aiding its longevity. Iron Tail is Scrafty's best way to hit Fairy-types super effectively.

Set Details
========

A Jolly nature alongside maximum EVs in Attack and Speed maximize Scrafty's offensive capabilities while also making it outspeed Virizion at +1. Chople Berry mitigates damage taken from Fighting-type attacks from Pokemon like Emboar, Hitmonlee, Toxicroak, Virizion, Passimian, and opposing Scrafty, giving it more freedom to set up or just attack. Steelium Z boosts Iron Tail to a very powerful coverage move, heavily damaging every Fairy-type in the tier at +1 while also dealing massive damage to Pokemon that could normally take on Scrafty, like Toxicroak and Vileplume. Fightinium Z strengthens Scrafty's STAB High Jump Kick to great levels, allowing it to heavily damage bulkier foes such as Druddigon and Mega Audino while also having perfect accuracy. However, Fightinium Z will fall short to the likes of Garbodor and Vilplume, as without Steelium Z, Scrafty struggles to deal with them.

Usage Tips
========

If Scrafty is holding a Chople Berry, it has more freedom to set up with Dragon Dance, even if the opponent has a Fighting-type in the back. It also allows Scrafty to survive a Fighting-type STAB attack from full health, giving it plenty of opportunities to KO back with High Jump Kick. Scrafty can find setup opportunities against foes that cannot damage it heavily, such as Seismitoad, Sneasel locked into Knock Off, and Xatu, although it must always be wary of status ailments, which can cripple it. Additionally, Scrafty could also switch in against foes that are weak to it, as forcing a switch can give it an opportunity to use Dragon Dance. Some examples of these would be switching into Slowking, Cryogonal, Incineroar, and Rotom. If Scrafty is facing a Fairy-type, don't use its Z-Move unless you are sure that it KOes said foe. Scrafty should be very wary of status ailments if it isn't running Shed Skin. Burn halves Scrafty's Attack, rendering it somewhat useless; similarly, paralysis lowers its Speed when you want it to outspeed and sweep the opposing team. High Jump Kick should not be used recklessly, as a Ghost-type such as Jellicent, Haunter, or Mismagius could switch in.

Team Options
========

Steelix, Garbodor, and Ferroseed are good partners for Scrafty, as they are able to handle Fairy-types with their STAB attacks, as well as having the added bonus of providing entry hazard support. Psychic-types like Slowbro, Slowking, and Mesprit can take care of Fighting- and Poison-types for Scrafty to sweep more easily. Delphox is a notable partner; it can come in against Fairy-type attacks from the likes of Whimsicott with ease while also effectively checking Fighting- and Poison-types such as Virizion and Toxicroak. Flying-types such as Dodrio can outrun every non-Choice Scarf Fighting-type and eliminate the Pokemon that threaten Scrafty, while Braviary can run a Choice Scarf to revenge kill or outrun Fighting-types and OHKO them; Scrafty also appreciates the momentum provided by U-turn. Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary is also an ideal partner, as it has the bulk to comfortably switch into Pokemon like Whimsicott, Mega Audino, and other special attackers that can threaten Scrafty, such as Delphox, Mismagius, and Haunter, and can proceed to set up against them. Thanks to its Psychic / Flying typing, Xatu makes for a nice partner for Scrafty, effectively checking both Fighting- and Poison-types well while also bouncing back any potential status moves that would otherwise cripple it, and having access to U-turn gives Scrafty gateways to set up. Whimsicott is a good partner for Scrafty, dealing with Fighting-types thanks to its STAB attacks and typing. Additionally, Whimsicott can provide Scrafty momentum with U-turn or Memento, which has the added bonus of lowering the foe's offensive stats, giving Scrafty more opportunities to set up. Haunter is also a nice partner for Scrafty, being immune to Fighting-type attacks as well as resisting Fairy; Substitute + Pain Split Haunter is a good set to use alongside Scrafty, as Haunter can come in on Fairy- and Fighting-types, set up Substitute, and greatly deter teams. Scrafty can also deal with Haunter's checks, such as Sneasel and Guzzlord.

Other Options
=============

Shed Skin is another viable option for Scrafty, alleviating it of any status ailments that could otherwise cripple it. However, if Scrafty were to run Shed Skin as its ability, Iron Tail usually isn't worth running, and without a Z-Crystal, it is pretty weak and fails to OHKO Fairy-types like Mega Audino and Aromatisse. Additionally, the Z-Crystal isn't advised to be used with Shed Skin, as a Z-Move can pick up more KOs for more Moxie boosts and allow Scrafty to sweep better. Leftovers can be used alongside Shed Skin due to the item having passive recovery and allowing Scrafty to come in on any status ailments, which it is unaffected by due to Shed Skin. Other useful coverage moves like Zen Headbutt allow Scrafty to handle Fighting- and Poison-types better but are generally not recommended due to Iron Tail's effectiveness at dealing with Fairy-types. Iron Head is an option over Iron Tail, having significantly higher accuracy, although the drop in power is generally not worth it. Life Orb can be used over a Z-Move for more consistent damage, but Life Orb fails to OHKO the majority of Fairy-types with Iron Tail even at +1, such as Mega Audino and Aromatisse. Choice Band is an option for instant power but lacks the Speed boosts from Dragon Dance and risks predictions from incoming Ghost- and Psychic-types. Bulk Up can be utilized on a more defensive set, but the lack of a Speed boost leaves Scrafty exposed to a lot of offensive threats that can OHKO it easily. Snatch alongside Darkinium Z could be ran with the Dragon Dance set to boost its Speed by 2 stages, fixing the problems of Scrafty being easily revenge killed. Although these attributes sound appealing, the lack of power is noticeable, as well as having to give up Iron Tail, leaving it even more susceptible to Fairy-types.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Whimsicott is arguably Scrafty's best check, outspeeding it even after a Speed boost from Dragon Dance and OHKOing Scrafty with a super effective STAB Moonblast. Although Scrafty can hit Fairy-types super effectively with Corkscrew Crash, Mega Audino, Aromatisse, and Granbull can all survive an unboosted Corkscrew Crash and fire back with STAB attacks to OHKO Scrafty.

**Faster Foes and Choice Scarf Users**: Although Scrafty can boost its Speed stat thanks to Dragon Dance, its pitiful base Speed means that some of Scrafty's most threatening counters like Whimsicott, Cincinno, and Sceptile can still outrun it at +1, making it easily revenge killed. Common Choice Scarf users like Hitmonlee, Emboar, Braviary, Delphox, Scyther, Haunter, and Medicham can outspeed Scrafty at +1 and OHKO it with their respective attacks. Additionally, priority moves like Hitmonlee's Mach Punch and Toxicroak's Vacuum Wave can revenge kill Scrafty. There are a myriad of faster Pokemon that are capable of dealing massive damage to Scrafty while outrunning it before it sets up; some examples would include Virizion, Vivillon, Toxicroak, Sigilyph, Sawk, and Gallade. However, if Scrafty is holding a Chople Berry, Scrafty has more freedom to attack or set up against Fighting-types such as Emboar, Hitmonlee, and Toxicroak.

**Poison-types**: Toxicroak resists all of Scrafty's STAB attacks, meaning it can switch into Scrafty pretty freely and fire off a super effective Drain Punch or Focus Blast. Haunter prevents Scrafty from using High Jump Kick freely and can also revenge kill it with Choice Scarf Dazzling Gleam, outspeeding Scrafty even after a +1 Speed boost. Garbodor and Skuntank can wear it down with Rocky Helmet and Aftermath; additionally, be wary of Focus Blast on Garbodor. Weezing can sponge most of Scrafty's attacks; if Scrafty's ability is not Shed Skin, Weezing can cripple it with Will-O-Wisp.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Scrafty is a competent sweeper in NU, with sustainable bulk to aid it in setting up, and giving unprepared teams a hard time with it's great offensive typing and coverage. name some of these good coverage moves
  • Additionally, it has three great abilities that can give it some versatility in its roles; Intimidate to weaken opponents attack to assist in setting up and its longevity, Shed Skin to cure status conditions which could otherwise cripple it, and lastly Moxie, which boosts its attack by 1 stage every time it kills an opponent, making it a force to be reckoned with. rework this point. ppl reading the analysis don't need you to describe what its abilities do and you aren't even using 2/3 abilities on the only set. Stress how moxie makes scarfty and then you can make a supplementary point about the other two abilities being decent.
  • Bearing a good offensive typing in Dark / Fighting, it can take on a lot of the meta with its STAB attacks alone, also being gifted with great coverage like Iron Tail to deal with its inherit weakness to Fairy-types, it can serve as a great sweeper. you already tackle this in the first point.
  • Unfortunately, due to having a somewhat lacklustre base 95 attack stat, it requires an attack boost from Dragon Dance to efficiently sweep.
  • Additionally, Scrafty bears a pitiful base 58 speed stat. Meaning that it can easily be revenged by any common scarfer, even after speed boosts there are Pokemon that naturally outrun Scrafty that can threaten it heavily. name some of these pokemon. whimsicott, sceptile, and the boys come to mind

Moves
========
  • Dragon Dance raises its Attack and Speed by 1 stage, making it Scrafty's best set up move to maximise it's potential as an offensive threat.
  • Knock Off is always key in its moveset, being able to remove the opponents item whilst dealing generous damage, also hitting Psychic and Ghost-types super effectively that might try and switch in against Drain Punch.
  • Drain Punch is a reliable STAB attack which also heals 50% of the damage dealt, aiding its longevity.
  • Iron Tail is Scrafty's best way to hammer fairies super effectively.
High Jump Kick should be the main fighting stab with a mention of Drain in moves.
Set Details
========
  • A Jolly nature alongside maximum EVs in attack and speed enable it to reach its fullest potential on the offensive side, also outspeeding everything up to Virizion at +1
  • Steelium Z boosts Iron Tail to astronomical levels just say it turns Iron Tail into a very useful and powerful coverage move, OHKOing every Fairy-types in the tier at +1, also dealing massive damage to Pokemon that could normally take on Scrafty, like Toxicroak, Virizion and Skuntank. viriz and skunk get murked by hjk
  • Scrafty has been blessed with 3 viable abilities, first being Moxie which is usually the preferred nature as it increases Scrafty's attack stat after knocking out an opponent which aids its role sweeping and becomes even more threatening after KOing an opponent. don't need to embellish so much
  • Shed Skin alleviates Scrafty's fear of status ailments, making it easier to set up against more passive foes, like Jellicent and Shcukle. Intomidate lowers opponents attack giving Scrafty a much easier time to set up against physical attackers, but Moxie and Shed Skin provide much more utility and usefulness. not relevant to the set. better to mention the other abilities in oo

Usage Tips
========
  • Scrafty should start setting up once it's teammates have either weakened or KOed its checks and counters. this is pretty redundant. either be more specific or don't include it
  • Another good opportunity to set up would be against passive Pokemon such as Uxie, Ferroseed, Shuckle and Regirock, but always be weary of status ailment which can cripple Scrafty heavily. All of these Pokemon threaten Scrafty with status. I would be more specific and say "use scrafty to apply offensive pressure to passive pokemon for set up opportunities" and then list Pokemon Scrafty actually sets up on as a result.
  • Scrafty could also switch in against foes that are weak to Scrafty, forcing out a switch would give it n opportunity to use Dragon Dance. Some example of these would be Slowking, Slowbro, Aurorus and Alolan-Sandslash. Aurorus/Shuckle Encore it, Slowbro Scald burns and beats it up to +3 p sure, alolaslash should not be mentioned as it is an official "Unmon", and slowking is ok to mention but this point can just be combined with the point above anyhow
  • If Scrafty is facing a Fairy-type, don't use your Z-Move unless you are sure that it KOs from the HP where it's at.
  • Scrafty should be very weary of status ailments if it weren't to run Shed Skin,talked about the ability stuff burns can halve its attack rendering it somewhat useless, same as paralysis, lower it's speed when you want to outspeed and sweep the opposing team is never good. don't need to hold analysis reader's hands they should know what statuses do. just get to the point and say "status ailments cripple scrafty and prevent it from sweeping"
make a point about knowing when to set up cause scrafty's low speed makes it more worthwhile to just throw out attacks half the time instead of wasting time clicking dd

Team Options
========
  • Entry hazards provided by Steelix and Ferroseed synergies well with Scrafty, with Steelix and Ferroseed being able to deal with Fairies competently whilst setting up hazards on the opposing field to assist its ability to sweep or clean. Furthermore, Garbodor can provided Spike support and eliminate Fairy-types with STAB Poison-type attacks. this is a good point, but try and reword it. "Steelix, Garb, and Ferroseed can help handle fairies and have the added bonus of providing hazards." the primary reason they're good is because they help deal with fairies not because they provide hazards
  • Psychic-types like Slowbro, Slowking, and Mesprit can take care of Fighting and Poison-types for Scrafty to clean or sweep easier. Delphox is a notable partner as it can come in against Fairy-type attacks from the likes of Whimsicott with ease, while also effectively checking Fighting- and Poison-types such as Virizion and Toxicroak.
  • Common Flying-types for Fighting-types are good teammates for Scrafty, Dodrio can outrun every non scarfed Fighting-type and eliminate the Pokemon that threaten Scrafty. Braviary can run a choice scarf to revenge or outrun Fighting-types and OHKO them, Scarfty also appreciates the momentum provided by U-Turn. Bulk Up Braviary is also an ideal partner. Thanks to its Psychic / Flying typing, Xatu makes a nice partner for Scrafty. Effectively checking both Fighting-, and Poison-types well, also bouncing back any potential status moves that wold otherwise cripple it, and having access to U-Turn gives it gateways to set up.
  • Whimsicott is a good partner for Scrafty, dealing with Fighting-types thanks to its STAB attacks and typing. Additionally, providing momentum in U-turn, or Memento, lowering the foes Attack stats assisting and giving it more opportunities to set up.
good job with team options. it's a tricky section and you've done good here.

  • Other useful coverage moves like Zen Headbutt allows Scrafty to handle Fighting and Poison-types better, but is generally not recommended due to Iron Tails effectiveness in dealing with Fairy-types.
  • Iron Head can be ran over Iron Tail due to Iron Tail having lower accuracy, but Iron Heads damage output is much less than Iron Tail.
  • Shed Skin is an other viable option for Scrafty, making it immune to status ailments, which could otherwise cripple it. Furthermore if Scrafty were to run Shed Skin as its ability Rest could be used over Iron Tail, but would leave it extremely vulnerable to Fairy-types.
  • Life Orb can be used over Z-Move for more consistent damage throughout, but Life Orb fails to OHKO the majority of Fairy-types which fairies specifically does it miss out on? with Iron Tail even at +1.
  • Some may opt to run Leftovers as their chosen item which gives Scrafty consistent recovery, but damage output is underwhelming compared to Z-Move or Life Orb. not irrelevant as a choice but this is a little too specific to include
  • High Jump Kick can be used efficiently but lacks the recovery that Drain Punch provides. It should also be notes that High Jump Kick should not be used recklessly, as a Ghost-type like Jellicent or Mismagius could be switched-in.
  • Choice Band is an option for instant power but lacks the Speed boosts from Dragon Dance and risks predictions from incoming Ghost- and Psychic-types.
  • Bulk Up can be utilised for a more defensive set, but the lack of speed leaves Scrafty exposed to a lot of offensive threats that can OHKO it easily.
for sets like bulk up and cb, talk about the ev spreads and moves those sets would use in case anyone wants to try them out.

add z snatch with moxie here too. fixes the problem dd scrafty has of not outspeeding a lot of the meta in one turn of setup by sacrificing power

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Whimsicott is arguabley Scrafty's best check, outspeeding it even after a Speed boost from Dragon Dance, enabling it to OHKO Scrafty with a super effective STAB Moonblast. Although Scrafty can hit Fairies super effectively with Z-Iron Tail, Mega Audino, Aromatisse, Granbull, Togetic, and Silvally-Fairy unmons can all live a Corkscrew Crash without boosts and fire back with STAB attacks to OHKO Scrafty.

**Fighting-types**: Faster Fighting-types like; Virizion, Hitmonlee, Emboar, Toxicroak, Sawk, Gallade and Medicham can OHKO Scrafty with their respectable STAB attacks. Hitmontop can switch in and to lower its attack stat, while being able to fire off a super effective Close Combat or revenge it with Mach Punch. Hariyama and Poliwrath can all tank any of Scrafty's attacks and retaliate harder with Fighting STAB, OHKOing Scrafty. Additionally, Toxicroak resists all of Scrafty's STAB attacks, and can either start setting up against it, or OHKO it.

**Faster Opponents & Choice Scarf Users**: Although Scrafty can boosts its speed stat thanks to Dragon Dance, its pitiful low base speed leaves it so that some of its most threatening Pokemon can still outrun it at +1, examples of these would be; Whimsicott, Dodrio, Archeops, Sceptile and Minior-Shields Down. Common Choice Scarf abusers like Hitmonlee, Emboar, Braviary, Delphox and Medicham can oustpeed Scrafty at +1 and OHKO it with their repeatable attacks. Additionally, priority like Hitmonlees Mach Punch or Toxicroaks Vacuum Wave can revenge Scrafty.

**Flying-Types**: As stated above, Dodrio can outspeed it at +1 and Scarf Braviary can fire off a powerful STAB Brave Bird. Sigilyph can utilise a focus sash and survive one hit and fire back with an Air Slash or Dazzling Gleam. Vivillion can put Scrafty to sleep with Sleep Powder or OHKO it with Hurricane. Many Oricorio-Formes opt to use abuse a Choice Scarf, outrunning Scrafty at +1 and firing off a STAB Hurricane.

**Poison-Types**: Toxicroak resists all of Scrafty's STAB attacks, meaning it can switch in pretty freely and fire off a super effective Drain Punch or Focus Blast. Garbodor and Skuntank can wear it down with Rocky Helmet and Aftermath, also be weary of Focus Blast on Garbodor. Weezing can sponge most of Scrafty's attacks and if Scrafty's ability is not Shed Skin, it can cripple it with a burn thanks to Will-O-Wisp. Weezing, Skuntank and Garbodor all have access to Haze or Clear Smog which can remove all of Scrafty's boosts. none commonly run it so no need to mention it

try and combine "fighting-types, flying-types, and faster opponents" into one section "fast revenge killers." you just need to get across the message that scrafty is easy to revenge kill.
good bit to change here so do your best to pay attention to what I wrote. 1/3 when done

I've been using Chople Berry with Drain Punch a lot for a while now and it's definitely worth a slash, arguably even being the first slash, but the last QC can decide on that.

Usage Tips:
  • You can talk about how to play Chople Scrafty now, e.g having more freedom to set up a Dragon Dance even if the opponent has a Scarf Emboar / Passimian / Hitmonlee, as you can live their STAB Fighting-type move and KO back with HJK.
Checks & Counters:
  • Edit the Fighting-type section to reflect the addition of Chople Berry.
  • Add Scarf Haunter to Poison-types, it can prevent you from clicking HJK and revenge with Scarf Dazzling Gleam.
2/3, good work, write this up.

  • Bulk Up can be utilized for a more defensive set, but the lack of a speed boost leaves Scrafty exposed to a lot of offensive threats that can OHKO it easily.
  • Snatch alongside Darkinium Z could be ran with the Dragon Dance set to boost it's speed by 2 stages, fixing the problems of it being easily revenged. Although these attributes sound appealing, the lack of power is noticeable, as well as having to give up Iron Tail, leaving it even more susceptible to Fairy-types.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Whimsicott is arguably Scrafty's best check, outspeeding it even after a Speed boost from Dragon Dance, while OHKOing Scrafty with a super effective STAB Moonblast. Although Scrafty can hit Fairies super effectively with Z-Iron Tail, Mega Audino, Aromatisse, and Granbull can all live a Corkscrew Crash without boosts and fire back with STAB attacks to OHKO Scrafty.

**Faster Opponents & Choice Scarf Users**: Although Scrafty can boosts its speed stat thanks to Dragon Dance, its pitiful low base speed leaves it so that some of its most threatening Pokemon can still outrun it at +1, making it easily revenge killed, examples of these would be; Whimsicott, Cinccino Dodrio, Archeops,(both of these hit 350, +1 scrafty hits 354) and Sceptile and Minior-Shields Down (bad mon). Common Choice Scarf abusers like Hitmonlee, Emboar, Braviary, Delphox, Scyther, Haunter, and Medicham can oustpeed Scrafty at +1 and OHKO it with their repeatable attacks. Additionally, priority like Hitmonlee's Mach Punch or Toxicroak's Vacuum Wave can revenge kill Scrafty. There a myriad of faster foes which are capable of dealing massive damage to Scrafty whilst outrunning Scrafty before it sets up; some examples would include Virizion, Vivillon, Toxicroak, Sigilyph, Sawk, and Gallade. However, if Scrafty is holding a Chople Berry, it can give it more freedom to attack or set up against Fighting-types such as Emboar, Hitmonlee, and Toxicroak.

**Poison-Types**: Toxicroak resists all of Scrafty's STAB attacks, meaning it can switch in pretty freely and fire off a super effective Drain Punch or Focus Blast. Haunter prevents Scrafty from using High Jump Kick freely, and can also revenge kill it with Choice Scarf Dazzling Gleam, outspeeding Scrafty even after a +1 Speed boost.
About main set, I def feel the order of Drain Punch / Iron tail should be swapped, as the main targets for Iron Tail are sorta gone (read, Aromatisse, whims is eaten by hjk), or worn down easily enough that you can justify dual stabs, recovery from drain punch is also amazing for stopping priority from beating you. THIS IS VERY SUBJECTIVE AND I WILL EDIT TOMORROW ONCE I'VE TALKED IT OVER WITH OTHER QC STAFF: I also feel Fight-Z should be slashed on the Main set, by virtue of OHKOing Drudd after rocks about half the time, while still hitting Maud for 70%, and just being pretty consistent (it also can't miss), though it does lose hits vs Plume and Garb. Also chople should be first slash.

I think when you mention scarfers in the overview you should mention that every scarfer from Haunter upwards is actually faster than it at +2, meaning that it, Delphox and Scyther are able to take out a Scrafty which has used its bulk to set up twice with Gleam/a STAB move or Aerial Ace, respectively.

[OVERVIEW]

Scrafty is a competent sweeper in NU, (RC) with sustainable bulk to aid it in setting up. It gives and giving unprepared teams a hard time with it's its great offensive typing and useful coverage options like Iron Tail. Additionally, Scrafty has been blessed with an amazing ability to go alongside its sweeping roll, that being Moxie. Moxie is one of the contributing factors to Scrafty's sweeping cabalities capabilties, boosting its Attack stat by one stage every time it KOs a foe, enabling it to fully sweep if it can outrun all of the opponent's Pokemon. Furthermore, its other 2 abilities, (remove semicolon and add comma) Shed Skin and Intimidate, (AC) can also be useful in certain situations; buthowever, Moxie is by far the superior ability in most cases. Scrafty has been gifted with a wide variety of setup (RH) moves, such as Dragon Dance and Bulk Up, making it more unpredictable and versataile versatile. It also has a great STAB combo in Dark- and Fighting-type Dark / Fighting, bouncing covering off each other's weaknesses such as to Psychic- and Ghost-types. Unfortunately, due to having a somewhat lackluster base 95 Attack stat, it requires an Attack boost from Dragon Dance to efficiently sweep. Furthermore, mainy many common Pokemon that use Choice Scarf also outrun Scrafty after a +1 boost in Speed, such as Emboar, Hitmonlee, Dodrio, and Scyther, making it highly suscpetible susceptible to being revenged killed. In addition, Scrafty bears a pitiful base 58 Speed stat, (remove period and add comma) meaning that it can easily be revenged revenge killed by any common scarfer Choice Scarf user. Even after speed boosts there are Pokemon that naturally outrun Scrafty that can threaten it heavily, such as Whimsicott and Sceptile.

A Jolly nature alongside maximum EVs in Attack and Speed maximize Scrafty's offensive capabilities while enable it to reach its fullest potential on the offensive side, also outspeeding Virizion at +1. Chople Berry mitigates damage take taken from Fighting-type attacks from Pokemon like Emboar, Hitmonlee, Toxicroak, Virizion, Passimian, and opposing Scraftys, (just a comment, but there's a lot of examples here, I would cut out some of them) giving it more freedom to set up or just attack. Steelium Z boosts Iron Tail to a very powerful coverage move, heavily damaging every Fairy-types Fairy-type in the tier at +1, (RC) while also dealing massive damage to Pokemon that could normally take on Scrafty, like Toxicroak and Vileplume. Fightinium Z strengthens Scrafty's STAB High Jump Kick to great levels, allowing it to nuke heavily damage bulkier foes such as Druddigon and Mega Audino, (RC) while also having 100% accuracy. However, Fightinium Z will fall short to the likes of Garbodor and Vilplume, as withough without Steelium Z Scrafty struggles to deal with them.

Usage Tips
========

If Scrafty is holding a Chople Berry, it gives it more freedom to set up with Dragon Dance, even if the opponent has a Fighting-type in the back.(Remove comma and add period.) It also allows it Scrafty to live a Fighting-type STAB attack from full, giving it plenty oppurtinity to KO back with High Jump Kick. Scrafty can find setup opportunities against foes that cannot damage it heavily, (AC) such as Seismitoad, Sneasel locked into Knock Off (RC), and Xatu, although it must always be weary wary of status ailments which can cripple it. Additionally, Scrafty could also switch in against foes that are weak to it, as forcing out a switch would can give it an opportunity to use Dragon Dance. Some example examples of these would be Slowking, Cryogonal, Incineroar, and Rotom. If Scrafty is facing a Fairy-type, don't use your its Z-Move unless you are sure that it KOs KOes from the HP where it's at. Scrafty should be very weary wary of status ailments if it weren't to run isn't running Shed Skin. (Remove comma and add period.) Burns can halve its Scrafty's Attack, rendering it somewhat useless; (Remove comma and add semicolon.) same as similarly, paralysis lower lowers it's its Speed when you want to outspeed and sweep the opposing team. is never good. High Jump Kick should not be used recklessly, as a Ghost-type such as Jellicent, Haunter, or Mismagius could be switched-in switched in.

Team Options
========

Steelix, Garbodor, and Ferroseed are good partners for Scrafty, as they are able to handle Fairy-types with their STAB attacks, as well having the added bonus of providing hazard support. Psychic-types like Slowbro, Slowking, and Mesprit can take care of Fighting and Poison-types for Scrafty to clean or (cleaning and sweeping are basically the same thing in terms of this set) sweep easier. Delphox is a notable partner; as it can come in against Fairy-type attacks from the likes of Whimsicott with ease, (RC) while also effectively checking Fighting- and Poison-types such as Virizion and Toxicroak. Common Flying-types for Fighting-types are good teammates for Scrafty, Flying-types such as Dodrio can outrun every non scarfed Choice Scarf Fighting-type and eliminate the Pokemon that threaten Scrafty, whileBraviary can run a choice scarf Choice Scarf to revenge kill or outrun Fighting-types and OHKO them; (Remove colon and add semicolon.) Scarfty Scrafty also appreciates the momentum provided by U-Turn U-turn. Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary is also an ideal partner, having as it has the bulk to comfortably switch in on Pokemon like Whimsicott, Mega Audino and other special attackers that can threaten Scrafty, (AC) such as Delphox, Mismagius, and Huanter Haunter, and can procees proceed to set up against them. Thanks to its Psychic / Flying typing, Xatu makes for a nice partner for Scrafty, effectively checking both Fighting-, (RC) and Poison-types well, while also bouncing back any potential status moves that wold would otherwise cripple it, and having access to U-Turn gives it Scrafty gateways to set up. Whimsicott is a good partner for Scrafty, dealing with Fighting-types thanks to its STAB attacks and typing. Additionally, (AC) Whimsicott provides can provide Scrafty with momentum with U-turn or Memento, which has the added bonus of lowering the opponent's offensive stats, giving Scrafty more opportunities to set up. Haunter is also a nice partner for Scrafty, being immune to Fighting-type attacks as well as resisting Fairy; (remove period, add semicolon) Substitute-Pain Split Substitute + Pain Split Haunter is a good set to use alongside it Scrafty, as it Haunter can come in on Fairy- and Fighting-types, (AC) and set up a Substitute, (AC) and grealty deter teams. Scrafty can also deal with Haunter's checks, such as Sneasel and Guzzlord.

Shed Skin is an other viable option for Scrafty, alleviating it of any status ailments,(RC) which could otherwise cripple it. Furthermore, if Scrafty were to run Shed Skin as its ability, Iron Tail usually isn't woth worth it running, as without a Z-Crystal it is pretty weak and fails to OHKO Fairy-types like Mega Audino and Aromatisse. Additionally, the Z-Crystal isn't advised to be used with Shed Skin, as a Z-Move can pick up more KOs KOes and allow Scrafty to sweep better with Moxie. (remove colon, add period.) Leftovers can be used alongside Shed Skin, (RC) due to having passive recovery and being able to come in on any status ailments, which it is unaffected by. Other useful coverage moves like Zen Headbutt allows allow Scrafty to handle Fighting and Poison-types better, but is are generally not recommended due to Iron Tails Tail's effectiveness in at dealing with Fairy-types. Iron Head is an option over Iron Tail, having significantly higher accuracy, although the drop in power is generally not worth it. Life Orb can be used over a Z-Move for more consistent damage throughout, but Life Orb fails to OHKO the majority of Fairy-types with Iron Tail even at +1, such as Mega Audino and Aromatisse. Choice Band is an option for instant power, (AC) but lacks the Speed boosts from Dragon Dance and risks predictions from incoming Ghost- and Psychic-types. However, Fightinium Z will fall short to the likes of Garbodor and Vilplume, as without Steelium Z, Scrafty struggles to deal with them.

Usage Tips
========

If Scrafty is holding a Chople Berry, it gives it has more freedom to set up with Dragon Dance, even if the opponent has a Fighting-type in the back. It also allows Scrafty to survive a Fighting-type STAB attack from full health, giving it plenty of opportunities to KO back with High Jump Kick. Scrafty can find setup opportunities against foes that cannot damage it heavily, (AC) (keep comma remove "(AC)") such as Seismitoad, Sneasel locked into Knock Off, and Xatu, although it must always be wary of status ailments, which can cripple it. Burns Burn halves Scrafty's Attack, rendering it somewhat useless; similarly, paralysis lowers its Speed when you want it to outspeed and sweep the opposing team. High Jump Kick should not be used recklessly, as a Ghost-type such as Jellicent, Haunter, or Mismagius could switch in.

Team Options
========

Flying-types such as Dodrio can outrun every non-(AH)Choice Scarf Fighting-type and eliminate the Pokemon that threaten Scrafty, while Braviary can run a Choice Scarf to revenge kill or outrun Fighting-types and OHKO them; Scrafty also appreciates the momentum provided by U-turn. Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary is also an ideal partner, as it has the bulk to comfortably switch in on into Pokemon like Whimsicott, Mega Audino, (AC) (keep comma remove "(AC)") and other special attackers that can threaten Scrafty, (AC) (keep comma remove "(AC)") such as Delphox, Mismagius, and Haunter, and can proceed to set up against them. Thanks to its Psychic / Flying typing, Xatu makes for a nice partner for Scrafty, effectively checking both Fighting- and Poison-types well,(RC) while also bouncing back any potential status moves that would otherwise cripple it,(AC) and having access to U-turn gives Scrafty gateways to set up. Whimsicott is a good partner for Scrafty, dealing with Fighting-types thanks to its STAB attacks and typing. Additionally, (AC) (keep comma remove "(AC)") Whimsicott can provide Scrafty momentum with U-turn or Memento, which has the added bonus of lowering the foe's offensive stats, giving Scrafty more opportunities to set up. Haunter is also a nice partner for Scrafty, being immune to Fighting-type attacks as well as resisting Fairy; Substitute + Pain Split Haunter is a good set to use alongside Scrafty, as Haunter can come in on Fairy- and Fighting-types, set up a Substitute, and greatly deter teams. Scrafty can also deal with Haunter's checks, such as Sneasel and Guzzlord.

Other Options
=============

Shed Skin is another viable option for Scrafty, alleviating it of any status ailments that could otherwise cripple it. Furthermore However, if Scrafty were to run Shed Skin as its ability, Iron Tail usually isn't worth running, as and without a Z-Crystal, it is pretty weak and fails to OHKO Fairy-types like Mega Audino and Aromatisse. Additionally, the Z-Crystal isn't advised to be used with Shed Skin, as a Z-Move can pick up more KOs for more Moxie boosts and allow Scrafty to sweep better with Moxie. Leftovers can be used alongside Shed Skin due to the item having passive recovery and allowing Scrafty to come in on any status ailments, which it is unaffected by due to Shed Skin. Other useful coverage moves like Zen Headbutt allow Scrafty to handle Fighting- and Poison-types better but is are ("coverage moves" is plural) generally not recommended due to Iron Tail's effectiveness at dealing with Fairy-types.

===================

**Fairy-types**: Whimsicott is arguably Scrafty's best check, outspeeding it even after a Speed boost from Dragon Dance and OHKOing Scrafty with a super effective STAB Moonblast. Although Scrafty can hit Fairy-types super effectively with Z-Iron TailCorkscrew Crash, Mega Audino, Aromatisse, and Granbull can all survive an unboosted Corkscrew Crash and fire back with STAB attacks to OHKO Scrafty.

**Faster Foes and Choice Scarf Users**: Although Scrafty can boost its Speed stat thanks to Dragon Dance, its pitiful base Speed means that some of Scrafty's most threatening counters like Whimsicott, Cincinno, and Sceptile can still outrun it at +1, making it easily revenge killed;(SC) some examples of these would be Whimsicott, Cincinno, and Sceptile. There is are a myriad of faster Pokemon that are capable of dealing massive damage to Scrafty whilst while outrunning it before it sets up; some examples would include Virizion, Vivillon, Toxicroak, Sigilyph, Sawk, and Gallade. However, if Scrafty is holding a Chople Berry, it can give Scrafty has more freedom to attack or set up against Fighting-types such as Emboar, Hitmonlee, and Toxicroak.
