Useful info to understand the tables of the spreadsheets:

MU = No. of Match-ups, MC = No. of Matches Closed, MO = No. of Matches Open (not closed)

MS = No. of Match Successes (wins including activity wins), MF = No. of Match Failures (losses including activity losses), MD = No. of Matches Dead (i.e. not played)

RDS = Relative Delay Score, the sum of the player's completion orders (from 0-n) divided by the maximum completion order. e.g. if they completed last in a round consisting of 5 matches, they'd have a completion order of 4/4 (since 0 is the first), so an RDS of 1, and likewise an RDS of 3/4 if they played second to last.

DP = No. of Deadline Passes and AL = No. of Adjudged Losses (wins given against)

PIP = Positive Impact Percentage, which is made up of a third RDS, a third DP and a third AL. 100% PIP = an RDS of 0, no deadline passes and no adjudged losses.

W(O)FUN Result System (WON only used for some spreadsheets)
W = Win by Decision/Default (W-0 = Walk Over)
O = Loss by Coin Flip/Decision/Default with 0 battles played (deprecated)
F = Win by Coin Flip (F-0 = Flip Over)
U = Unknown Losing Score
N (0,1,2,3...) = Battles Won

Is there a set schedule for the regular tournaments and where to participate, as in just the regular weekend tours and live ones (assuming Old Gens Room but never know). It'd be nice to get involved but idling in the rooms on a whim to play in a tournament that may happen can be annoying if it potentially coincides with ones schedule. A post that's updated with this information with changes depending on the next upcoming regular tour like those similar to the Ubers tournament thread would be nice. If there's already a place that does this my b, just not finding it.

Updated. I will be organizing RoAPL 3 and 2 new major RoA tournaments for this year:

RoA Ladder Tournament - For the 6 qualifying weeks, each old generation's OU ladder will be given a week in where the players can earn points towards a qualification standing. The finals tournament will probably be double elimination.

RoA Standard Tournament - an elimination tournament, either best of 5 or 2 best of 3s per round, featuring every old generation's OU tier.

Is NeverUsed Premier League a thing this year? If it has ADV NU I'd love to participate! If it is indeed happening, any idea when? Thanks! :)

We'll be awarding three Past Gen Champion banners each year, which will rotate annually to new winners. The tournaments featuring prize banners in 2017 are:
  • Ruins of Alph Ladder Tournament (RoALT)
  • Ruins of Alph Tour (RoA Tour)
  • Major League RoA (MLRoA)
Winners of these tournaments should PM me to receive their banner; it may take a few days to appear. If for any reason one of the aforementioned tournaments gets canceled, the winner of Ruins of Alph Standard Tournament (RoAST) will be awarded the third banner instead.

Good luck, competitors.

Thanks for fixing that thing.

What's stopping any random user from putting trophies and medals in their signature? That's why the banners/badges matter, yo.

Major League RoA will not be returning this year, because it's taking a lot of time to create and complete spreadsheets for new formats. Hope to bring it back next year.

RoAST is coming though, and will consist of 2 single elimination brackets with every player in each, effectively making the tournament double-elimination. In the first bracket, each round, a 3 tier combination will be chosen randomly, e.g. RBY OU, ADV OU, BW OU for a first-to-2-wins (best of 3 wins) match. For the second bracket, the remaining tiers would be played: GSC OU, DPP OU, ORAS OU. These combinations will vary each round, with the second bracket always complementing the first. Pairings will be randomized separately in each bracket, each round. When there is only 1 player remaining at the top of each bracket, they play each other in a best of 6 match, with a randomized 3 tier combination for a tiebreak if necessary to determine the RoAST champion. If a player happens to win both brackets, there is no need for this grand final.

I just finished updating the Hall of Fame with everything from the past year or so. I also cleaned it up with expandables, since it was looking chaotic (shoutout to The Dutch Plumberjack for showing me how to do that!) Clicking on a tournament's name / trophy will now reveal a description of the tour and all past winners :3

Past Gen Circuits

Each past generation's OU will have its own 2018 circuit, retrospectively including January's tours as well. Each circuit will award a Past Gens Ribbon, which will be featured in the postbit alongside badges and trophies. The colored ribbons will be showcased until a new circuit winner is crowned, at which point the former winners' ribbons will be greyed out.

All of the circuits (RBY, GSC, ADV, DPP, BW, and ORAS) will follow the format below.

Type A - worth 60% total
  • Classic Cup (or an unofficial ORAS Cup for Gen 6)
  • Global Championship
Type B - worth 30% total
  • RoA / Smogon Tours (12 / 18 tournaments per year, respectively, just depends on gen for which to use)
Type C - worth 10% total
  • RoALT week Top 8 (our ladder tour, each week features a specific gen)
  • RoAST (large multi-gen tour, would count towards each gen)

This post by M Dragon sums up how the point system works:
We will divide the tournaments in 3 groups:
  • Type A: The biggest tournaments. This includes seasonals and grand slam.
  • Type B: Current gen tournaments. Big tournaments featuring exclusively current gen that are not as big as seasonals.
  • Type C: Smaller tournaments.

We give points to players that have won at least 1 round.
For example, I designed this:

So the winner of any tournament gets 500 points, 2nd place gets 375, etc
The difference between #3 and #2 is much greater than the difference between someone who lost in quarterfinals and someone who lost in semifinals.
In this way we reward players that consistently finish tournaments in good positions.

And... how are total points calculed?
The idea is simple: each player will have a number of type A tournament points (I will call them Points A), a number of type B tournament points (Points B) and a number of type C tournament points (Points C).
There will be another kind of points I will call equivalent points.

We will give the different tournament types a maximum number of equivalent points.
For example: Type A will have a maximum of 2500 equivalent points, Type B a maximum of 1700 equivalent points, and Type C a maximum of 800 equivalent points

This means that a player that has won every tournament A will have 2500 equivalent points, and a player that has won everything will have 5000 equivalent points (2500 + 1700 + 800)

And how are the equivalent points calculated for the other players?
I will explain it with an example.

In this example I am the player with most points (1750 points), so I get the 2500 equivalent points A.
Since Luigi is a noob and only has 467 points, 467 * 2500 / 1750 = 667 equivalent points.

We do the same with points B and points C, and the final ranking is determined by the total equivalent points of all 3 kind of tournaments.
