Metagame STABmons

https://hastebin.com/raw/ofemicodij

i made a hastebin full of sets including every single new alolamon bar type: null since i forgot it and i was too lazy to go back

notes:
  • raticate-a could run u-turn > sd
  • raichu-a could probably run focus blast as well
  • sandslash-a could run ice shard or lo but why use it over kyu-b at that point
  • run blizzard on ninetales-a if ya want
  • dugtrio-a isn't good don't use it but run sub if ya want
  • darkinium z persian-a is cute
  • galvanize is a bad set on golem-a since bolt strike does more than return
  • knock off is viable on muk-a USE COIL > CURSE
  • run flamethrower or eq on exeggutor-a if you're worried for sciz and heat
  • bonemerang is okay or wisp on marowak-a but who has the room
  • decidueye could run baton pass or u-turn
  • sucker punch is a good move on incineroar
  • primarina w/ specs is a cutemon
  • toucannon w/ u-turn might be good
  • stakeout gumshoos is fine
  • tail glow > fcannon could work too or energy ball
  • crabominable is bad so like have fun or use crabhammer if you want
  • oricorio is v versatile so could run anything bar physical sets those are bad
  • ribombee could run qd or sweb but i prefer tail glow honestly
  • lycanroc-n could run fire fang
  • lycanroc-m could run toxic as well
  • wishiwashi with shuriken could probably be okay
  • run haze if worried about sub that much on toxapex
  • mudsdale could run fighting coverage > heavy slam
  • ice beam on araquanid or hp elec to bloop fini both are fine
  • lurantis is really bad but could run defog somewhere like sub probably
  • shiinotic with moonblast > dkiss is viable
  • salazzle could just run life orb but acid downpour is nice to bloop through stuff
  • i'm sure there's a better bewear set lol i just don't care for the mon
  • tsareena walls diggersby so take note and could use trop kick but seems useless
  • probably a better comfey set but triage dkiss and leech seed is nice
  • oranguru is straight outclassed by meloetta lol
  • passimian could run cb but it's not good so there's that
  • golisopod w/ megahorn > first impression seems fine to me
  • palossand could run spikes or toxic over a coverage move
  • pyukumuku can use counter somewhere but scald is a nice addition
  • minior has a fun specs set but that's probably not its best trait so sub could work
  • komala should probably run sleep talk somewhere but it needs all those moves to work
  • turtonator could run fblast or eq probably
  • togedemaru with spiky shield and grass knot is a cute lure
  • mimikyu can just run lo w/ sd as well
  • bruxish is probably better off with physical but dazzling is so good
  • run ice beam or fire blast on drampa if you so please
  • a ghost stab on dhelmise like spirit shackle is fine but anchor shot gets stab anyways and doesn't miss out on normal-types
  • probably a better kommo-o set it's a bad pokemon though
  • koko could run special or taunt sets
  • specs lele is broken
  • bulu is probably best with a cb or you could run a sub set
  • run scald on fini but fuc misty terrain
  • nihilego w/ srock and lo could be fun but purify is so good
  • buzzwole is very versatile run cb or smthn if you want
  • pheromosa could run pjab but i prefer substitute up to you
  • electric terrain xurxitree is hot shit run tail glow to bloop things
  • celesteela is too damn versatile lol run auto or something
  • run timid bs sets like funbot or just run cb or something idk spore is good
  • guzzlord is bad but hey it's a fun pokemon probably could run eq
  • magearna is crazy good run avest if you wanna check lele and other strong attackers i like sweeper though
this is a really rough outline of a lot of alolamons but it's a nice starting ground if you just wanna mess around. however, only the tapus, ubs, magearna, toxapex, bewear, araquanid, maybe mudsdale, and alolawak seem to be worthwhile running which is unfortunate due to a lot of good designs. tsareena seems promising since it bloops physical attackers namely completely hardwalling diggersby.

speaking of araquanid, i like tail glow / water shuriken / bug buzz / steam eruption. it's a great late game cleaner and steam eruption has 220 bp thanks to water bubble lol... and water shuriken is 30 bp for each hit. yeah, it's a really strong pokemon though it gets beaten easily by things that resist/immune water so there's that as well.

hope u find this useful it took me some time to make

Banned deucer.
The S/M edition of the STABmons Frontier is up!!
STABmons Frontier

Welcome to the 3rd installment of OM's most famous frontier, the STABmons Frontier! The rules are simple: challenge each of the Frontier Brains to a STABmons battle. Once you defeat the first brain, move on to brain #2. If you can defeat all five of us in order without losing, you become the STABmons Champion!

If there is a sitting Champion, you then challenge them to a Bof3 match. If you win, you become the new reigning champion!

  • Matches are Bof1 in the current STABmons format/banlist. If the format hasn't updated yet but something is supposed to be banned, the player using the banned element forfeits the match.
  • You must wait 24 hours to re-challenge the frontier after losing
  • Tag the brain you're challenging in this thread and post the results afterward.

Post #3 has the brains listed in order. (It was picked randomly, so please no "this isn't in order of skill" jokes.) Good luck and have fun!

It seems that everyone forgot a certain move in the movepool of everyone's favorite lightning rod.

heh, the ole whoopee-cushion-in-the-hand trick (Marowak-Alola) @ Thick Club / Sitrus Berry
Ability: Lightning Rod / Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Belly Drum
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Fire / Flare Blitz / V-create
- Precipice Blades / Earthquake / Spirit Shackle / Shadow Bone / Shadow Force

Set is pretty self-explanatory, just set up to +6 and kill things. Shadow Sneak is obligatory priority to let this thing pick off as many things as physically possible. Use Sacred Fire as your Fire STAB with Lightning Rod or Flare Blitz with Rock Head. Use V-create if you're man enough. Sure, its stat drops seem unappealing. That is, until you read this shit right here:

+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola V-create vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zygarde-Complete: 533-627 (83.8 - 98.5%) -- 31.3% CHANCE TO OHKO AFTER ROCKS WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS A RESISTED HIT ON THE BULKIEST POKEMON IN THE GAME HOLY SHIT MAROWAK THE GOD

+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola V-create vs. a hypothetical 252 HP / 252+ Def 'mon with 255 HP and 255 Def that doesn't resist Fire: 598-705 (83.7 - 98.7%) -- 75% CHANCE TO OHKO AFTER STEALTH ROCK ON THE BULKIEST POSSIBLE POKEMON IN THE GODDAMN GAME. DAMN.

The last move is filler coverage. P-Blades or EQ (use P-Blades if you're man enough and EQ if you're a sissy) rounds out Marowak's coverage (nothing in the game resists Ghost/Fire/Ground) and gives Toxapex the bird, but Spirit Shackle or Shadow Bone gives you a powerful secondary STAB. Only use Shadow Force if you're man enough, as its charge turn is kinda shit, but in return it can do this:

+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Shadow Force vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zygarde-Complete: 711-837 (111.7 - 131.6%) -- GUARANTEED OHKO WHAT THE FUCK

Can your measly Shadow Bones do that?

+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Shadow Bone vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zygarde: 504-594 (79.2 - 93.3%) -- only a guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

I didn't think so.

Use Sitrus Berry as your item if you're a weaksauce player who cares more about recovery than about PURE UNSTOPPABLE POWER. Thick Club is the item's item for the man's man.

Oh shit, here come the realest of calcs proving nothing stands a fucking chance against this guy once he's set up!
The realest of calcs said:
+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Sacred Fire vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey trying to get cute: 1248-1468 (177.2 - 208.5%) -- IT'S A MURDER

+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Precipice Blades vs. the third-dumbest 248 HP / 252+ Def Mega Slowbro to ever live: 353-416 (89.8 - 105.8%) -- ANOTHER DEAD SLOWBRO AFTER STEALTH ROCKS

And if you run Shadow Bone, he'll be dead before he even notices:
+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Shadow Bone vs. the dumbest 248 HP / 252+ Def Mega Slowbro to ever live: 750-884 (190.8 - 224.9%) -- PURGED FROM THIS PLANET EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TIME

+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Precipice Blades vs. 248 HP / 80+ Def Tyranitar, sued by Godzilla for copyright infringement: 1174-1382 (291.3 - 342.9%) -- DARUDE CALLED, HE WANTS HIS SANDSTORM BACK

And if you're running Shadow Bone and think you can't hit him:
+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Sacred Fire vs. a 248 HP / 80+ Def Tyranitar that just got ROASTED: 366-432 (90.8 - 107.1%) -- DON'T TALK TO ME OR MY SON EVER AGAIN

+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Sacred Fire vs. 248 HP / 96+ Def Thick Fat Mega Venusaur thinking Thick Fat will give him a chance: 662-782 (182.3 - 215.4%) -- LOOKIN' LIKE THE GFYCAT MOMENT WITH THE REAL LIFE UP TILT OVER HERE

+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Shadow Bone vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zygarde-50%: 504-594 (120 - 141.4%) -- YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT'S A GODDAMN GUARANTEED OHKO

+6 252 Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Sacred Fire vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Deoxys-D: 484-570 (159.2 - 187.5%) -- OH I'M SORRY, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE DEFENSIVE?

To find something that can take the hit that ISN'T a max HP max Defense Multiscale Lugia or the bulkiest 'mon in the game, you gotta go to MIX AND MOTHERFUCKING MEGA.

Shall we heal your Pokémon? ... Ok. We'll need your Pokémon. ... Thank you! Your Pokémon are fighting fit! Don't worry, WE KNOW YOU'RE COMING BACK!

Oh, and it isn't all that bulky or all that fast. OF COURSE IT AIN'T THAT FAST, IT'S GOTTA LUG ITS BIG DICK DAMAGE AROUND ALL DAY!

MAROWAK IS BIG DOMMAGE INCARNATE.
TL;DR: Get your bitch ass a Belly Drum Alolan Marowak. You won't fucking regret it.
Edit: Edited with juicy calcs proving that NOTHING*, and I mean NOTHING*, goes toe-to-toe with this thing and lives.
*There are three things that can go toe-to-toe with this thing and live. One's an Uber, one's from a different meta entirely, and the other is something you probably wouldn't quite expect.

A note about that set is that it is significantly more viable in Trick Room, but be sure to change it to brave nature, and shift EVs over to HP if you wish to have a Trick Room sweeper. (ditto with Crabominable, but that's Sketchmon territory) So get that TR up, and start destroying worlds.... but most importantly, those of your enemies.

Speaking of Trick Room... Drampa.

Drampa @ Life Orb
Ability: Berserk
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk, 0 Speed
EVs: 252 HP/252 SpA/4 SpD
Boomburst
Dragon Pulse/Clanging Scales
Fire Blast/Thunderbolt/coverage/Calm Mind
Roost/coverage

A rough outline, but the basic idea is Boomburst kills non bulky things. Clanging Scales is there if you want more power, but I like the reliability of Dragon Pulse better. Berserk makes this set crazy if it ever gets below 50%, and Roost allows you to hit that benchmark repeatedly, if need be. Calm Mind is boosting, if you want it. Again, the results are far better under Trick Room. Try to keep healthy for Fakespeeders.

HEY! YOU! YEAH, I'M TALKING TO YOU! DO YOU LIKE GRENINJA?

OF COURSE YOU LIKE GRENINJA! EVERYBODY LIKES GRENINJA! WHY ELSE WOULD EVERYONE GET HYPE AFTER ISTUDYING BEAT ESAM?

BUT, YOU MIGHT BE THINKING, WHAT IN THE GODDAMN WORLD DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH STABMONS?
WELL, IMAGINE IF YOU GAVE THE METAGAME-SLAYING MONSTER UP ABOVE A SETUP MOVE THAT BUFFED ITS POWER, BULK, AND SPEED ALL AT ONCE.
IT WOULD BE INCREDIBLE, RIGHT?
EXCEPT YOU DON'T HAVE TO IMAGINE.
MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THIS, BUT FROM JULY TO SEPTEMBER OF 2016, JAPAN GOT AN EVENT GRENINJA FOR POKEMON MOVIE 16.

YEAH, THAT PIECE OF SHIT MOVIE.
BUT LET'S STOP DICKING AROUND AND TAKE A LOOK AT THAT EVENT GRENINJA.

Hmm...
Any nature is great. Probably can be any IVs as well. Still, doesn't mean shit if it doesn't have anything special about it.
Moves seem crappy at first glance. Hydro Cannon is useless, Gunk Shot is fine but nothing new, Mat Block is useless in Singles, and-
