Choice Specs

name: Choice Specs
move 1: Leaf Storm
move 2: Focus Blast
move 3: Ancient Power
move 4: Giga Drain / Hidden Power Fire
ability: Regenerator
item: Choice Specs
evs: 132 HP / 252 SpA / 124 Spe
nature: Modest
Moves
========
- Leaf Storm is a hard hitting STAB attack that hits most Pokemon that don't resist it for a lot of damage
- Focus Blast hits Steel-types like Registeel and Cobalion
- Ancient Power hits Fire-types trying to switch in like Moltres and Delphox
- Giga Drain is a reliable STAB attack with no drawbacks and lets Tangrowth regain some health at the cost of some power
- Hidden Power Fire is used to hit Escavalier and Doublade super effectively
- Sleep Powder can also be used to cripple switch ins
Set Details
========
- EV spread is used to max out Tangrowth's Special Attack while outspeeding 0 Speed Tangrowth, with the rest of the EVs invested in bulk
- If HP Fire is used, 4 HP EVs should be moved into Speed as that requires an imperfect Speed IV
- A Modest nature is used so Tangrowth hits as hard as possible
Usage Tips
========
- Uses its good bulk to switch into weak resisted attacks so it can wallbreak
- Should stay away from Knock Off, as it really appreciates the power it gets from Choice Specs
- Shouldn't be spamming Leaf Storm as the drawback lets some Pokemon switch in and set up easily
Team Options
========
- Hazard support from Pokemon such as Qwilfish, Omastar, Cobalion, Druddigon, and Glalie are all appreciated as it weakens Tangrowth's switch ins
- Pokemon that can dispose of Fire-types, like Kabutops and Slowking make for good partners
- Late game cleaners, such as Moltres and Braviary appreciate the holes Tangrowth punch in teams, and also have decent defensive synergy with it
Assault Vest

move 3: Hidden Power Fire / Ancient Power / Earthquake
move 4: Knock Off
ability: Regenerator
item: Assault Vest
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
nature: Quiet
Moves
========
- Leaf Storm is Tangrowth's main STAB attack, and the drawbacks are somewhat mitigated by Regenerator
- Giga Drain is a more spammable STAB option, keeping itself healthy while hitting for somewhat less damage
- Hidden Power Fire is used to hit Steel-types, like Escavalier, Doublade, and Registeel
- Ancient Power lures in and hits Fire-types such as Moltres
- Earthquake hits Steel-types like Registeel and also lures in Dragalge
- Knock Off is mainly for utility and cripples Pokemon reliant on their item
