Toon sends out his third Pokémon, which happens to be Gyarados. Taking advantage of the fact that this battle began before the RCB nerf, he tosses the candy to his Pokémon, who proceeds to eat it. Once that's done, Gyarados lets out a battle cry before being mercilessly dug in by pointy stones, shaving off a good portion of its HP right off the bat.
Nonetheless, Gyarados opens up by leaping high into the air then smashing into Pyroak! However, the Grass-type Pokémon had hardened his skin for the impact, and not only does it take less damage, Gyarados is hurt as well!
More enraged than ever, the city buster tries another leaping attack while Pyroak heals off the previous one. I think this behavior is the closest form of flavor Taunt you'll see in a while.
Third time's the charm, as Gyarados takes off and lands another time. This time though, he's greeted accordingly by Pyroak that rams into it with the strength of the rainforest itself, leaving it weakened.
In its current state, Pyroak still has the edge in terms of HP but its stamina is depleting quickly. On the other hand, Gyarados won't last many more rounds either, so it either may turn into a battle of will or a blitzkrieg.
Perhaps one of the Trainers will take a third option?
