The team needs a better fighting check than Scarf Sensu and has room for a Z move.

PUTL RASERI (Musharna) (F) @ Fairium Z
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock

- Dazzling Gleam

Standard Twinkle Tackle Mush appreciates the way the triple LO core can break for it letting it sweep late game as well as patching up the teams biggest weakness to fighting mons as well as just being a general sponge/pivot.

And now for something completely different

Since just saying "it was liepard" doesn't really seem to follow the spirit of the thread, lemme elaborate. First of all I do think the team is a bit subpar from leaning too hard into standard, and covering all the threats listed perfectly isn't completely feasible. That being said, a spinblocker really isn't required and people leaned way too heavily into that. What I considered when building this was the need for a strong offensive mon with 1. a good speed tier, 2. that checks musharna a little bit and 3. has some way of messing with faster mons so the team doesn't become weaker to stuff like Archeops and Choice Scarf Primeape. With that in mind, Liepard was the mon I ended up fitting into the last slot- Blackglasses, with Thunder Wave (important!), Knock Off, and then the rest doesn't entirely matter but Play Rough and Encore are what I went with. I agree that offensive Normal-types are still spoopy, but Spikes+Helmet Qwil are supposed to chip them enough so yeah. The team also retains an annoyance to stall, which changing the Kangaskhan set to my stallbreaker Facade one helps with, and also Swanna but I think any decent team based around Qwil+Mesprit+Kanga is just gonna have that so deal with it. In conclusion I don't think the team is amazing, especially with heightened awareness of how good Qwilfish spikes is right now, but I think Liepard is generally more optimal than the mons that were suggested. Sensu best hit most of that criteria, but it's not as good vs Mushy or random fast things like Archeops which is my main gripe.

Weezing @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Sludge Bomb
- Toxic Spikes
- Taunt

Weezing provides a much needed fighting check as well as a ground immunity that can take on things like Piloswine which would otherwise be hard to switch into. T-Spikes also helps Hitmonchan threaten Ghost types like Sabeleye and Gourgeist as they hate being Toxic'd and Oricorio can work as a pseudo spin-blocker for this team.

Mesprit @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Dazzling Gleam

Wanted a Fighting check and wincon. CM Mesprit fit the bill. Provides a Fighting check that isn't weak to Hitmonchan's Ice Punch, Psyshock deals with AV Chan and Yama (while it's here), HP Ground with a Colbur Berry means that Mesprit can take a Dark move from Skunk and KO it back while also helping vs Steel types. Dazzling Gleam leaves the team with a reliable Sableye killer without having to risk Magmortar's Fire Blast and Floatzel's Hydro Pump missing.

I think a lot of people are really overstating the "weakness" to Fighting-types this team really has. Tangela can 1v1 both Banded Passimian and Life Orb Primeape, so instead of a hard check or counter, I feel as though a more offensive and fast Pokemon works well in the slot. Sensu works extremely well with Skuntank as Skuntank can trap scary Pokemon and they can both weaken Ghost-types for Type: Null. The thing Sensu adds as well is an additional check against scary threats such as Musharna and Pinsir. I think more important than the Fighting-type threats are the Ground-types, as the team relies on Tangela to check both types. Sensu also fulfills the Z Crystal spot, while offering a very good set-up sweeper in the back which works very well with Manectric.

Weezing @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Toxic Spikes
- Pain Split
- Taunt
While Tangela can check Fighting types to an extent, it struggles with stronger ones like Banded Passimian or LO Primeape. Weezing gives the team a strong check to these mons that can threaten a lot of the team, especially Type Null. Toxic Spikes also really helps the team's passive nature, turning Type Null into an even scarier sweeper. Pain Split to increase longevity so it can check fighting types longer. Taunt is to help "stallbreak" somewhat, keeping slower walls from recovering up. 32 Speed Evs are basically a random speed creep number. You can creep as much as you think is necessary but I think bulk is more important than winning speed creep wars with opposing Weezing on this team.

Mesprit @ Fairium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Dazzling Gleam

Reasoning:
  • Ice coverage (Dragon type answer)
  • Ground type immunity
  • Fighting type answer
  • Dark type lure (Especially with Knock Off, because this team is very weak to it)
  • Z Crystal
