Blacephalon @ Choice Scarf
- Fire Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Ability: Beast Boost
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Out of all the Special attackers the fire typing has to offer, Blacephalon is easily one of the most consistent and powerful, with it's Somewhat unique offensive Ghost/Fire typing, it becomes an offensive monster that lacks many common defensive switch-ins. Choice Scarf Boosts it's above average speed tier to allow it revenge killing and sweeping possibilities. Fire Blast it Blacephalon's Primary Fire Stab, hitting superbly Hard & even harder under the Sun, but it's miss chance is something very noteworthy. Shadow Ball is the best special ghost stab avalible to Blacephalon, hitting the types that fire coverage has trouble hitting effectively. Psyshock hits the Special Tanks that Can switch into Blacephalon's Dual Stabs, Such as Toxapex, Blissey, and Specially Defensive Rotom-Heat ar Rotom-Wash. Hidden Power Ice rounds out the set by providing coverage for pokemon with type combinations & enough bulk that aren't threatened by Shadow Ball or Fire Blast, as well as hitting common Ground & Dragon types such as Garchomp, All Landorus Forms, Hydreigon, and Mega-Aerodactyl. Full Special Attack & Speed Ev's are to ensure Blacephalon hits as hard as possible & achive a speed higher than Base 100's.

Blacephalon Appreciates Wallbreakers that punch Holes in the Opposing team, making it easier for Blacephalon to revenge kill & potentially clean up late game. Choice Band Victini threatens almost all of Blacephalon's Switch-ins with it' great Coverage & Hard hitting Physical moves, and Blacephalon in turn forces out whatever Physical wall or Offensive Check that may swap into Victini after it becomes choiced locked. Mega Charizard-Mega-X Appreciates Blacephalon's Special Coverage & ability to deal with faster threats that can hinder it's ability to set up with a DD, and Blacephalon Appreciates Charizard-Mega-X's Potent Physical Stabs & it's ability to Set up on the Special Walls Blacephalon forces out. Blacephalon's Weakness to dark types, Noteably Tyranitar, Weavile, and Urshifu-S, Can limit it's Consistency, as it has to beware of Sucker Punches or Sashes. Pokemon like Infernape or Cinderace can deal with Dark-types with their fighting Coverage, Infernape running a Choice Band of it's own or even another Scarf for another Fast Revenge Killer, and Cinderace as either a Set-up sweeper with Bulk up or a Offensive Pivot, generating Momentum and giving Blacephalon Safer Switch-in Capability with U-turn. Cinderace also appreciates Blacephalon's Psychic Coverage, as it can now freely run Sucker punch to check faster Ghost Threats to Blacephalon such as Gengar or Opposing Blacephalon's. Charizard-Mega-Y Sets Sun for Blacephalon's Fire Blast, along with pressuring the Likes of Seismatoad and Gatrodon, two pokemon Blacephalon has a hard time damaging, with Solar Beam, along with Heatran and the Afrormentioned Tyranitar with Focus Blast. In return, Blacephalon Outspeeds common Charizard-Mega-Y threats such as Mega-Diance, Scarf Excadrill, Scarf Darmanitan-Galar, Alakazam, and Mega Lopunny, threatening them with it's Hard-hitting STAB moves.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options: Psychic Can be run over Trick or Psyshock if Pokemon like Weezing-Galar and Terrakion become very troublesome to deal with. Ghostium Z is another item that could be run, but Fire has better Z-abusers such as Victini, Cinderace, and Volcarona. a 232 HP / 20 spA / 252 Spe Ev Set can be run, as this allows Blacephalon to boost it's speed rather than it's Already potent Special attack, though this change usually only applies to a Specs set, as Scarf lacks the damage output for this to be as logical or as devistating. Heat Wave combines both Worlds of Fire Blast and Flamethrower, having a Higher Base Power than Flamethrower & only a 5% miss chance, but the 5 more Power usually does not justify using the otherwise middling move. a Substatute Calm Mind Z-Crystal spread can also be run in tanted with the mentione Speed-Beast Boosting spread, but due Blacephalon's Frailer nature & its abysmal defensive typing, as well as it having to devote 2 moveslots for setup, makes Blacephalon much less consistent & eve dead weight is some matchups, as setting up is virtually Impossible.

Checks and Counters
===================

Type
--------
**Pursuit**: Many of the Pursuit users, Including Weavile, Alolan-Muk, Mega-Aerodactyl and Tyranitar are all very good offensive checks to Blacephalon & are capable of trapping it and confirming Blacephalon's KO. KOig these pokemn is a must for Blacephalon to do it's part on any team.

**Priority** Accelerock, Aqua Jet, Sucker Punch, Snadow Sneak, and even Fake Outs from Mega-Lopunny or Grassy Slides from Rillaboom can Devastate or outright KO Blacephalon due to it's fragile Health and Defenses.

Weather Abusers: Swift Swim and Sand Rush Pokemon Overtake even Scarf Blacephalon with ease. Even Specs has to be warry of the Roue Slush Rush users. While Teammates can Supply Sun to negate opposing weathers, Sun as a Weather is debatably the weakest & thus has to play the Weather v Weather Matchups harder.
