[OVERVIEW]

Even since the combination of Mean Look + Lovely Kiss was banned, Jynx has slowly but surely become an important part of the metagame. Boasting a Base 115 Special Attack and 95 Speed, Jynx is one of the more powerful threats of the meta. What makes Jynx stand out, however, is its access to the utility move Lovely Kiss. Being able to put Pokemon to sleep allows the user to take advantage of Pokemon that don't normally carry Sleep Talk, like Cloyster and Nidoking. This can also allow the user to take advantage of other Pokemon that the user's team might need to be out of the way in order to succeed. It also has two great STABs in Ice Beam and Psychic, which covers the majority of the meta. Jynx can also run Thief, allowing it to steal items from Pokemon like Snorlax, which are generally used to check Jynx. If wanted, it can even run Substitute, to help take advantage of switches it forces versus Pokemon like Golem and Nidoking. Despite those positives, Jynx is rather frail. It can't come in on many attacks, and generally has to come in after a sack or predicted switch.

Set Description
=========

While this set used to be regarded as a niche set, it has over time proven to be effective. The reason this set runs no item is so that it can take advantage of the move Thief, with the help of Lovely Kiss. For example, Jynx would put a Pokemon to sleep, usually forcing a switch into a Pokemon like Snorlax. Taking away the Leftovers of those Pokemon increases longevity and can help in the long run. Lovely Kiss is still helpful even without Thief, giving your team the potential to tear your opponent's team open after taking advantage of a sleeping Pokemon. Ice Beam and Psychic are run as the two offensive moves of the team, covering Pokemon like Exeggutor and Golem, as well as Nidoking and Heracross respectively.

This Jynx set is generally used as a lead to get a free sleep off turn one. This of course, in turn, would allow you to steal Leftovers from a Pokemon. Don't just send in Jynx as it does not have the bulk for it. Try to get it in through moves like Baton Pass, or perhaps on a sack. Don't feel tempted to click Lovely Kiss every time Jynx is in.
