UU Zoroark-Pseudo

[OVERVIEW]
Despite having a unique signature ability in Illusion, Zoroark is an unviable choice in the metagame. It has poor bulk and faces absurd amounts of competition from the likes of Hydreigon and Mega Houndoom, both of which sport dual typings and are stronger Dark-type attackers right off the bat. In addition, Zoroark sits at an unfortunate Speed tier where prevalent Pokemon like Cobalion, Terrakion, and Latias can easily revenge kill it. Illusion is also one-time use and can scouted for through entry hazards, making Zoroark's only defining trait far less useful in practice.

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Nasty Plot
move 2: Dark Pulse
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Sludge Bomb
item: Fightinium Z
ability: Illusion
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Zoroark's best set would consist of Nasty Plot and Fightinium Z, allowing it to punch through Pokemon like Empoleon and Blissey after a boost. Mega Houndoom can pull this off more feasibly, however, due to its higher Speed tier, access to Fire-type STAB, and higher bulk, thus giving it more frequent setup opportunities. Other users of Nasty Plot such as Infernape and Togekiss are far more practical, as they possess a stronger STAB combination and useful defensive utility, respectively.

Despite having a unique signature ability in Illusion, Zoroark is an unviable choice due to its poor bulk and absurd amounts of competition from the likes of Hydreigon and Mega Houndoom, both of which sport dual typings and more powerful attacking options. (mention why they compete as special darks) In addition, Zoroark sits at an unfortunate Speed tier where prevalent Pokemon like Cobalion, Terrakion, and Latias can easily revenge kill it. Illusion is also very easy to scout for through entry hazards and VoltTurn users like Rotom-H and Scizor, making Zoroark's only defining trait far less useful in practice. (voltturn doesn’t really scout it at all. it has 0 bulk and dies to scizor’s uturn anyway and even staying in on volt is kinda awkward unless it’s needed. i would elaborate on hazards though and how that limits its effectiveness with all the rocks weak mons and fighting types in the tier rn)

Zoroark's best set would consist of Nasty Plot and Fightinium Z, allowing it to punch through Pokemon like Empoleon and Mega Aggron after a boost. The likes of Mega Houndoom can pull this off more feasibly, however, due to its higher Speed tier and Fire-type STAB. (and better bulk + typing giving it more opportunities to set up) Hydreigon also has a more clear-cut role in sweeping because of its ability to viably run Choice Scarf and access to the immensely powerful Draco Meteor. (hydreigon isn’t a sweeper really and scarf especially isn’t; talking about draco here doesn’t work in a sweeper context because draco forces you out after 1 use and it doesn’t set up to sweep like mega houndoom does either)

(Replace the Mega Aggron mention with Blissey, since Aggron's not really something that checks it particularly well regardless.)
