magic guard only prevents indirect damage (from what was listed on the first page of this topic) and nothing else (also you will do 50% to yourself with belly drum)

Ingrain removes Ground type immunity from Levitate. I'm not sure if it does so for Flying types as well, but it's probable.

Edit: From a Japanese site:
Punishment Base Power = 60 + (20 * # of power ups)
Max power = 200
Min power = 60

I tested as follows:

Lv100 Infernape - 206 Atk
Lv100 Blissey - 130 Def
Infernape is using Punishment.

No power ups
69, 70, 71, 73, 77, 78, 81
Power: 60

Blissey has used one X attack.
108, 200(CH), 104, 196(CH), 100, 96, 92
Power: 80

Blissey has used two X attack.
132, 237(CH), 128, 133
Power: 100

Blissey has used three X attack.
152, 161, 138, 148, 157
Power: 120

Blissey has used six X attack.
241, 467(CH), 216, 207
Power: 180

Blissey has used six X attack and three X Special.
503(CH), 268, 265, 235
Power: 200

Blissey has used one X attack and one X Special.
120, 124, 116, 117, 130, 128, 256(CH), 270(CH)
Power: 100

I forgot to check Stat downs, but I believe previous tests were good enough to rule that they have no effect.

Thanks, TRE. I was realising that my formula wasn't 100% correct, since I used the old damage formula for it. This formula is both simpler and correct, which is something I like. Thanks also for the fact that I don't need to test it again. :)

I know I´m turning into a bad news guy...don´t blame me, this should´ve been tested a long time ago...here´s another "wrong" ability

SNIPER

it doesn´t double CHs...for 4x dmg, but triples damage...in the damage formula this could be written as CH modifier = 3, or 1.5x boost after the 2x CH modifier, but not before

TEST: double battle
level 50 skorupi, 57 attack, cross poison
vs
level 100 chansey, 20 defense

CH damage I got: 348, 372, 363, 391, 387, 400

calced 1.5x level boost (in the formula) CH damage: 328-387
calced 1.5x move power boost CH damage: 339-399
calced 1.5x attack boost CH damage: 336-396
calced 1.5x boost after /50, before +2 in the formula CH damage: 336-396
calced 1.5x boost after CH modifier, before random modifier CH damage: 339, 343, 348, 351, 355, 360, 363, 367, 372, 375, 379, 384, 387, 391, 396, 400
calced 1.5x boost after random modifier CH damage: 339-400, but can´t get 348, 363 and 372

by the way, here the number of CHs I got: 2/20, 3/20, 5/20

wow, the ingrain thing is awesome. it's too bad cradily doesn't learn Earth Power =/
I think he means if the levitator uses ingrain, similar to an iron orb. It would make zero sense for ingrain to remove your opponents' immunity.

ah. so that only effects carnivine. dandy, i suppose =/
Or something that got levitate move-swapped to it, technically.

I should try Flying+Mimic+Ingrain and see if it removes ground immunity. Might test it tomorrow if no one gets to it first.

It would be easier to get a Baton Pass+Ingrain Smeargle and pass it around to other members of the team.

I'll test it right now with Chatot
EDIT: Yes, it gets hit. My Groudon just hit Chatot with Quake

Cradily used Ingrain!
Chatot used Mimic!

Cradily switches to Metagross. (Cradily has a Shed Shell)
Chatot used Ingrain!

Metagross used Earthquake!
Chatot gets killed.

I tried it again using ThunderPunch, it was Super Effective. It only removes Ground immunity, not the Flying type altogether.

Mine was this:
Chatot and Lileep vs. Machop and Meditite
Chatot used Chatter! Machop fainted!
Lileep used Ingrain!

Chatot used Mimic!
Lileep used Ingrain!
But if failed!

Chatot used Ingrain!
Lileep used Ingrain!
But it failed!

Chatot destroyed Lileep with Chatter

I sent out Groudon

Groudon used Earthquake! Chatot fainted!

Exactly, but maybe Chatter does not maximize at 100% confusion rate after all. Maybe the maximum would be a mere 20% or whatever. That's why it's better to look directly at the code.
I just tried using Chatter 200 times against various Pokémon seen East of Survival Area, and it confused 0 times! I'm not quite sure if I have tested enough (I've never tested moves before), but I would think that would do something after 200 tries. I was using the default cry, as well. I guess we should leave Chatter for those who can look at the coding, as you said.

Not to be devil's advocate or anything, but maybe... just maybe... Sniper works this way in 2vs2 only?

Are there actually any effects on the status Freeze due to weather conditions?

One user thinks that his Blizzard freezes more in Hail, for example. And would Sunny Day cut Freeze time, Rain Dance perhaps extending it? Would Sandstorm do anything at all?

Sorry if this has been asked already; I searched this thread and found no discussion of the sort on this. Also, I remember some discussion on the topic when D/P first came out in Japan.

Fuck. First Adaptability, then Solid Rock, then Rivalry, now this.

Does GF hate new traits for some reason? What happened to the good old 1.5x boost from Guts? And Marvel Scale?
