This spooky ghost sneaks its way into LC! Choice Scarf Gastly is the summit of speed control in LC thanks to its formidable power and impressive Speed, outpacing the entire unboosted metagame. Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb are a lethal STAB combo, being able to threaten most of the tier such as Snubbull, Gothita, and Snivy. Tera Ghost makes Gastly even more threatening with Shadow Ball, being able to 2HKO Pokemon like Mienfoo and Toedscool after Stealth Rock damage. Thunderbolt helps Gastly hit crucial threats such as Vullaby and Mareanie. Trick cripples defensive Pokemon like Foongus by stealing their Eviolite and complicating their recovery, letting Gastly and its teammates wear them down with repeated attacks. Ghost- and Dark-type checks like Pawniard, Stunky, and Vullaby help cover Gastly’s weaknesses, making them valuable assets to pair it with. Entry hazard setters like Glimmet and Mudbray are also great partners for Gastly, allowing it to create further pressure with the accumulated chip damage while in return blocking Rapid Spin. Fighting-type Pokemon with Knock Off such as Mienfoo and Timburr are also beneficial teammates, as they let Gastly deal more damage against foes that have had their Eviolite removed while also threatening Pawniard and Porygon in return.
