isn't everyone, to a degree? or, at least many people - especially if they're in a foreign country. i'd say i'm pretty proud/protective of my nationality, even though i've never lived outside of my country - though i guess it's partially because you're always at least kind of outside your country if you're not american [especially if you're right next to 'em!] because it just sorta bleeds over to everything that it's easy to just conform and be pretty much an american on different soil.
