ORAS OU Balanced Team ft. Mega Slowbro

Hi smogon, this is a team built with my friend TheInsanity . We've created a balanced team based on Mega Slowbro, one of the newest oras's mega evolution. Instead of doing a building process, u can read why we've choosed a pokemon in the description.

Taco Bell (Slowbro) @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Rest
- Psyshock

Why Mega Slowbro?

Slowbro is one of the best new mega in oras. It's a huge tank able to easily set up cm, so we built the team around him. Slowbro is a new and probably better version of Crocune, even if slower, it's bulkyer than the aforementioned and it has the ability to regain health with Regenerator before the mega evolution, so he can act like a pivot in the early/mid game, and close the match in the endgame with the mevo.

The moveset:

Calm Mind: we have a base 180 Def, with calm mind we can boost both Special Attack and Special Defense of this huge burrito.
Scald: Scald scares every physical attacker with the chance of burn.
Rest: We opted for Rest instead of Slack Off because even with a simple burn, Slowbro is pretty easy to kill. Also can act like a pseudo status absorber in the match.
Psyshock: Only with Scald before setupping, we are forced to remove bulky grass and bulky water Pokèmon. Adding psyshock helps against everything not named Empoleon or Ferrothorn.


Doping (Keldeo-Resolute) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Why keldeo?

One of biggest threats for slowbro is Greninja, so we add the pony for his ability to "check" the frog, plut it scares Bisharp. Also Keldeo can handle both Empoleon and Ferrothorn with a choice specs, plus it's a wallbreaker.

The moveset:

Hydro Pump: The main STAB, able to one-shot a lot of pokemon with the Specs
Secret Sword: Second STAB, helps against dark types that threat slowbro. Also i love in general the pseudo "mixed moves" (we have two psyshock and one secret sword)
Scald: Scald is another STAB, but with a chance of burning, and with a 100% accuracy.
Icy Wind: One of the best check to Keldeo are Latwins; they resist both stabs and are able to outspeed keldeo. Icy wind does supereffective damage and lower their speed making them revenge killable.


Psychedelic (Amoonguss) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 140 Def / 120 SpD

- Clear Smog
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Why Amoonguss?
Amoonguss is here because we are really weak against electric and grass. Also can act like a pivot with Regenerator, without wasting turns for using a it's pseudo recovery move. The evs spread maximizes it's ability to be a mixed wall, able to tank hits coming from Thundurus and Azumarill.

The moveset:

Clear Smog: Is a "phazing" move, able to stop setupper like CM Clefable, Belly Drum Azumarill and CM MegaSableye
Giga Drain: STAB, so we can recover some health and deal some damage.
HP fire: This move is here because of Ferrothorn, who otherwise is able to wall us. It's good against MegaScizor too, who isn't affected by Clear Smog.
Spore: Putting a Pokemon to sleep is always useful, though you should always use it wisely.


Bane (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe

Why Heatran?

Heatran is here simply because we needed a setter, though it walls both Talonflame and Latwins, and phaze everything able to set up on him. Also we lack of a special wall, and this guy is one of the best in the OU tier.

The moveset:

Stealth Rock: Simply the most important entry hazard in the meta.
Protect: Without a recovery move, Protect is really important for an extra 6% of health and for scouting.
Lava Plume: Stab and 30% of burn the opponent.
Roar: We are the perfect set up field for DD MegaGyarados, SD MegaGallade, DDZardX and other pokemon. With roar we can shuffle the opponent Pokemon, slowing down or simply ruin it's win condition.


LeTwins (Latios) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Recover
- Defog​
Why Latios?

Latios is here simply because of defog and fire Draco Meteor on everything. Also with a pivot like Amoounguss and a pseudo pivot like Slowbro before the mevo he can abuse the switch of the opponent's pokemon, nuking everything. Without him CharizardY and Landorus-Incarnate (without Knock Off) can destroy the team. Also we were pretty slow, so Latios is perfect to raise the average speed.

The moveset:

Draco Meteor: A strong STAB attack able to one shot a lot of frail things.
Psyshock: Another "mixed" attack, because we have only special attacker.
Recover: With recover Latios is able to check more things during the match.
Defog: Removing hazards is really important.


Machete (Landorus-Therian) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

- Stone Edge

Why Landorus?

Even with Latios, the team was pretty slow and weak against mold breaker/teravolt ground attacks. Landorus is the best scarfed pokemon in the metagame, able to handle physical threats like Garchomp, Excadrill and others thanks to Intimidate support and revenge kill almost everything.

The moveset:

U-Turn: This Pokemon force a lot of switch, and with U-Turn we can gain momentum.
Earthquake: Main STAB move, who, with a base 145 Atk hits hard everything.
Stone Edge: With Earthquake we have the edgequake coverage; even if Rock Slide has more accuracy, SEdge hits hard and can okho Thundurus for sure.
Knock Off: The most spammed move in XY is still awesome in ORAS.

Threat list:

MegaManectric: MegaManectric can hit almost everything x2, the only way is playing around it.
Gengar: Without a ghost resistor, Gengar can spam Shadow Ball.
Starmie: HPump, Thundurbolt and Psyshock do heavy damages to everyone. Latios is the best switch in, though Analytic Starmie hits strong.
Pinsir: Is a nightmare for this team, keep Landorus-T healty in order to revenge kill it.
 
really solid team. It beats most common threats out there. The only thing that I can see breaking your team is sub dd gyarados and stall. Expert keldeo seems like a good fit since you dont give mons like dnite free set up and has a way to beat stall. Hp electric is also a suggestion to beat mega gyara depending if they mega evo but besides that your team is really nice it just lacks priority so that might be a problem against faster pokemon. Bisharp can be replaced with amoongus to pursiut trap lati twins for mega slowbro to setup. Amoongus beats keldeo and suicune but you have latios and roartran which lives +2 scald from crocune. Amoongus is still helpful in many ways but I see bisharp being a nice support mon to help slowbro.
 
The team looks pretty solid only a few things slowbro should be running slack off over rest and 252 hp / 80 def / 176 spdef, i would also recommend running toxic over protect on heatran. other the that the team seems good
