Vespiquen hoists her claws above the prone Banette. It seems that all is lost. But as she thrusts downwards for the kill, something causes her to pause; Hazel has rolled onto her back, revealing a small white object nestled close to her body. It is something that Hazel has stolen -- something too precious for the Vespiquen to dare strike at.
"You complete and utter scoundrel! You hypocrite! You... you...!"
"What can I say? You were hyping it up so much, I couldn't help myself."
A closer looks tells you that the object Banette is holding is, indeed, the Flabebe. Hazel must have swiped it out of its prison at some point during the battle.
"Ohhh, the look on your face! Haha! If only Pangoro could see this... Hey, Pangoro! You in there?" Hazel is yelling at a mound of Combee so large that the Pangoro on the bottom of it is completely obscured.

Vespiquen tries to strike with her right arm, but Hazel shifts the Flabebe into the path of the attack, forcing her to stop mid-swing. Vespiquen then feints left, but Hazel isn't fooled. The Banette's defensive strategy (if it can be called that) is impenetrable. Vespiquen screeches in anger, but Hazel just laughs and teases the Vespiquen.
"What's the matter? You were talking like a real big shot earlier! Don't wanna hit a little baby?"
You regret to cut Hazel's fun short, but you really need to make your getaway. You grab Hazel by the scruff of her neck and leap out of the tree-hive and onto a waiting life net. The Vespiquen tries to follow you out, but the firefighters outside blast her with their fire hoses when she tries to get close. Your escape is flawless.

--2 weeks later--

Accelgor is sipping coffee in his PI office when a familiar face walks inside.
"Ah, commissioner. What brings you here?"
The police commissioner with a solemn expression on his face sits down in one of the chairs. "I heard about that whole Combee incident you were involved in. You know, those Combee are still real riled up about that. Even now, they're attacking anybody who passes through the park."
"Yeah, wild stuff. Do you think you need any help handling them? Because I could--"
"Nah, we've got that covered. Don't bother."
"I've got no other cases right now. Let me help."
The commissioner pulls a creased paper out of his coat pocket. "Look, if you've got nothing better to do, you could check this out. Some people complaining about a hot dog stand giving them severe stomach aches. Might be worth looking into. Could be serving rotten meat."
Accelgor frowns. "I see how it is. If you have any qualms about my performance in the Flabebe case, I'll let you know we beat up four crooks and returned the hostage in one piece. It wasn't an easy case by any means."
The commissioner sighs. He makes sure the front door is closed before explaining in a low voice: "Look, I'm not supposed to tell anybody this, but Pangoro hasn't been seen at all since your little treetop scuffle. Hardly any reports of activity by the Pangoro Gang, either. And since about a week ago, all of our undercover informants within the gang have gone completely silent. No communications, nothing. Even though you didn't mean to, by whacking Pangoro you've created a power vacuum. And a power vacuum means a power struggle. Pangoro and his gang were nasty but predictable. But whatever's coming up next, I have a very bad feeling about."
Hesitantly, the commissioner steps through the door to leave. "To be blunt, what I'm saying is: stay out of that town for a while. It's too dangerous. You had your hero's moment -- don't push your luck."
The door swings closed, leaving Accelgor alone with his thoughts.

Pokemon #1: Guava the Gyarados
Pokemon Ability: Intimidate
Pokemon Attitude: Despite his overwhelming stature, Guava is quite reserved. He is quite content to sit back and watch a conversation, waiting for the right thing to say before jumping in and participating. Until he's comfortable with you that is, then he'll chat your ear off for hours and hours.
Pokemon Background: Guava had been alone for a very long time before he met Gemini. His isolation in the water led him to become a great observer of character, both Pokemon and human. He is great at reading intention, from his years of watching as people pass by.

Pokemon #2: Saffron the Fidgit
Pokemon Ability: Persistent
Pokemon Attitude: Saffron is super charismatic and easy to get along with. He makes friends everywhere he goes, but also isn't afraid to call someone out if they deserve it.
Pokemon Background: Saffron has quite the reputation as a handyman and can always be counted on when a problem needs to be solved. Being able to hold multiple tools and move things quickly and efficiently means that he is always eager to get things done, and can become quite impatient when things are moving slowly or not going according to plan.

The year is 3022. Canada has conquered both Earth and the Pokémon universe, and has its sights set on intergalactic conquest. You find yourself as a part of a 623-strong crew that is about to launch its newest project: The E.V.E.R. (Eternal Vehicular Extraterrestrial Ranger), an impressive spaceship designed to travel further into the universe than ever before. While the E.V.E.R. is certainly the most awesome, amazing, magnificent, intelligent, sexy, and beautiful person *AHEM* I mean spaceship you've ever seen, it is still limited in size, so each crew member is only allowed two Pokémon with them on the expedition. You know that Guava and Saffron will be up to help you handle any situations that might arise. You hear the ship's captain, Morgan, over the intercom.

"This is your captain speaking. All crew, please report to your designated stations for takeoff. I repeat, all crew, please report to your designated stations for takeoff."

You do as instructed, and take your seat on the western branch of the ship. After some time passes, another message comes over the intercom.

"All systems, ready for takeoff. T minus 5 minutes until launch."

The anticipation is starting to get to you, so you do a little space-weed from the planet Bacinsan to calm your nerves and wait out the countdown.

"T minus 1 minute until launch."

"T minus 30 seconds until launch."

"5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... Blastoff!"

The ship begins its journey into the air. Moments into the journey, you hear a suspicious clank coming from in front of you. Unsure what the noise was, you don't have time to react before a piece of heavy metal comes flying towards you, pinning your legs. It must have not been attached properly, and came loose during takeoff. It would be unsafe for your nearby crewmates to unstrap their seatbelts and come help you, but you have just enough wiggle room to reach for the Pokeballs on your belt.
