1. INTRODUCTION

Hello everyone, you might remember me from that SS OU Top 4 paraflinch team I posted at the beginning of Sword and Shield, just before the King's Rock ban. This time I'm bringing a BDSP team to promote the RMTs of this game, since I noticed that we are lacking some content at the moment. As the title says, I peaked top 6 with an "antimeta" team I would not say that the team is easy to play, because you have to understand perfectly what you need to win the game. I hope my explanation will help you with that!

2. PROOF OF PEAK

I built the team like 3 or 4 days ago, and I've been playing some games until today. The GXE is not really amazing because I use showdown to test teams for the nintendo switch games, so yeah, many loses too. Even tho, I can promise that I have won 9 out of 10 matches with the team, gaining 300 points in a very short period of time.

3. THE TEAM

The idea behind this team is to break through everything with a combination of water type pokemon that share checks. You have to analyze the game and understand what your win conditions are. Every pokemon in this team is a win condition on itself, it just depends on the game.

blastoise.png

Blastoise @ White Herb
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shell Smash
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse

I wanted to play Blastoise, since I feel like he is super underrated in the OU BDSP metagame right now. Timid full speed to be faster than any heatran, so that they can't taunt him. His natural bulk helps a lot with all the priority that is being run in the meta, and he deals insane dmg at +2. This pokemon is probably the best win condition against offensive teams.

azumarill.png

Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Belly Drum

Probably my favourite pokemon in this metagame. Banded is op too but the belly drum set fits this team much better. If you manage to weaken faster water type resistant pokemon such as rotom, starmie, latios etc. this pokemon sweeps through everything. Adamant for the power but your can run jolly to be able to belly drum in front of banded crawdaunt, which helps a lot in some situations.

crawdaunt.png

Crawdaunt @ Choice Band
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Crabhammer
- Aqua Jet
- Crunch

The hard hitter of the team and one of the few pokemon that hasn't really lost anything in this game. He greatly helps against stall, having almost no switch-ins to crabhammer. Crunch is a better option than superpower in most situations. His banded aqua jet does huge damage to faster offensive teams, and can do the chip you need on rotom, latios etc. to help azu and blastoise.

skarmory.png

Skarmory @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Brave Bird
- Taunt

Hazzard setter. For some reason people think this is phisically defensive (same with blastoise but specially defensive in his case), and this is super useful for many reasons: 1. People try to defog in front of you with gliscor, scizor... which gives you a huge advantage; 2. They let you do massive damage to them with full atack brave bird, sometimes killing gengar and others; 3. People don't expect double hazzard.
Skarmory is your second best answer to stall. They usually have many troubles dealing with this bird. Against fast taunt leaders such as Azelf and Aerodactyl, start with Azu and waterfall + aqua jet them.

mismagius.png

Mismagius @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 24 SpD / 232 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Mystical Fire

Ground inmunity and spin blocker. His main goal is to somehow check Manaphy and garchomp. He does not let scizor defog, which is huge. Not many people expect the damage this pokemon can deal, and his speed tie is pretty good. Why mismagius instead of gengar? Because he can switch into EQ, he takes more special hits (which helps against rotom and starmie) and because he one shots scizor. I want to test more with a scarf set. since this team struggles vs starmie a lot. Feel free to try it out and tell me the results if possible. Thanks :D

garchomp.png

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Stone Edge

OR

mamoswine.png

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 240 Atk / 16 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Ice Shard
- Freeze-Dry
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash

Electric inmunity. I have been using both, and I feel like mamoswine has ended up being my prefered option. They both have the same job: Being inmune to electric and checking some dragon types. Mamoswine feels better because he 2hkos regular rotom sets, which is huge. Chomp catches people offguard with the scarf, but can't do too much vs clef, and sometimes crawdaunt isn't enough.
