Broken Roles, other things NOT to do, and possible fixes

Roles that spread false information are okay as long as they are easily discovered. For example, the flavor faker in Lord of the Flies was not broken, because as soon as someone made suspicious by it died, the player who had recieved the fake flavor message would instantly be able to tell that the fake flavor and the role PM flavor didn't match up. However, if there were a similar flavor faker role that could have its fake message customized by the user, that would likely be broken. The fake flavor could be made to match up with the role PM flavor of the user being made suspicious, or have flavor generic enough that it could apply to anyone. In that case, it would be very difficult to separate real flavor messages from fake ones. Overall, fake results that are easily found to be fake are okay, but ones that can pass as real for a long time are not.
To be honest, I find the "fake results that are easily found to be fake are okay" thing to be rather loose on these. The general fact is, you don't come into the game expecting what you get from the host to be false. If something requires a sequence of deaths or actions to be discovered as fake, that seems to prove how broken it really is, because it was dependent on a series of random events.

To be honest, the thing regarding players absolutely trusting the host is a little problem in itself which everyone doesn't seem to regard as a problem. Yes, you should be able to trust the host, but at the same time, it doesn't hurt to think a little more in-depth. Everyone who's experienced mafia has probably encountered mole roles before, so what's the deal with everyone who sees a mole role in a new game going 'WOAH I TOTALLY DID NOT EXPECT THAT MAN'? Of course there are different types of mole roles and Dickens and the Impressive CV are special in that they give a bunch of people the power to mole, but a mole role on a wolf or a single mole role on a mafia isn't exactly unexpected.
