Submit your stat spreads for CAP 11 here. Be sure to read other peoples' submissions so you don't duplicate them. I don't want to see five spreads that have little differences.

Our CAP so far:
DougJustDoug said:
Name: Perfect Mate

General Description: Pick a good-but-not-great OU pokemon, and design the perfect teammate for it, similar to the way Celebi & Heatran, or Blissey & Skarmory complement each other so well on competitive teams.

Justification:
This would allow us to explore in detail how synergy between two pokemon can be achieved, because currently there are only a few perfect teammates in OU. And depending on the base pokemon we choose to give a "perfect mate", we can open a new niche in the metagame based around the efficient pairing.
The niche we create will be inherently tied to an existing pokemon in the metagame, which should provide a natural limitation to prevent this concept from being broken or "too different" from standard OU.

Questions To Be Answered:
  • Is the base pokemon's usefulness (and usage) in the metagame increased as a result of having a "perfect mate"?
  • What strategies are more effective for the base pokemon, as a result of having a perfect teammate?
  • What are the most effective aspects of the new pokemon, for purposes of making a great teammate with the base pokemon?
  • Is the new pokemon viable in the metagame without the base pokemon as a teammate
Typing: Fighting/Dark

Rules:

  • Post a submission only if it is significantly different than others already posted. This is a no-brainer, but it's been a big problem in past CAPs. There really shouldn't be like 6 spreads that are effectively the same, so make it your business to read through the other submissions.

  • No threadhogging. This is an open discussion and should not devolve into a back-and-forth between two people. This is something that can tend to happen at this point in the project a lot, so watch it.

  • Don't get hung up on the same points. The discussion should remain fresh throughout the course of this thread, and you really shouldn't be posting the same arguments over and over.
Although this is not mandatory, I strongly recommend that you add damage calculations regarding your stat spread. They are a really good way to exemplify your stat spread's ability to take certain hits and do certain damage without resorting to walls of text. Also, try to make your submission presentable and not too messy/cluttered. Make it easy for users to read to understand how your spread works.

For reference, you can find out your base stat rating by clicking here. All stat submissions must be within the limits shown in this post to be considered valid. The limits will be added to this post once they are decided.

Have fun!

90 HP / 93 Atk / 90 Def / 105 SpA / 60 SpD / 117 Spe = 555

Physical Sweepiness: 174, Very Good
Physical Tankiness: 147, Good
Special Sweepiness: 199, Excellent
Special Tankiness: 101, Above Average
Overall Rating: 346, Very Good

The central part of this spread is the speed. 117 speed is the minimum amount necesssary to beat Azelf, Infernape, Starmie, +1 Tyranitar, and other things that could potentially destroy the partnership. It also allows CAP 11 to use a speed-neutral nature and outspeed base 100s (and tie with base 102's). High speed is also very synergistic in that Togekiss will likely be used to pass Nasty Plots. Using 117 speed instead of 120 allows CAP 11 to have slightly higher attacking scores, which is why I didn't simply go with the more aesthetic (and larger) base stat in this case. High speed is also very synergistic in that Togekiss will likely be used to pass Nasty Plots.

After establishing the speed I attempted to maximize the offensive stats. you get the OHKO on Blissey at ~85 Atk, but I wanted to pack as much attack as possible. One thing of note is that 93 Attack is capable of 2HKOing Specially Defensive Skarmory while 90 Attack is not. Of course, you could just use Aura Sphere, but if clearly that wouldn't work so well for a Swords Dance set or a purely physical one.

After pumping as much into attack as possible I decided to focus on physical tankiness, investing as much as I could without going over the limit and while keeping the stats aesthetic (I could have technically gone for 90/91.) Although one can argue that Rotom-A and Zapdos are the most common counters to Togekiss (Even though they are both OHKOd by +2 LO Fire Blast...), it is logical that physical tankiness is preferred on a Togekiss partner, as Togekiss is quite specially defensive itself and can tank most special attacks if necessary. The obvious problem with attempting to make the best out of one particular side of the spectrum is that the HP stat is neglected, meaning that it cannot abuse 101 HP Substitutes, however I would like to step away from high-HP spreads for this CAP and focus on one particular stat because maximizing defense is clearly advantageous to having balanced defensive stats.

Ultimately this spread offers a good compromise in speed and power, while also having good overall physical defensiveness. Here are some defensive and offensive calculations for the above spread against some common responses to Togekiss.

I think this stat spread is a good one because of several factors.

#1 You will deal 24.3% - 28.9% Aura Sphere to 4/252/252 Bold Blissey, meaning its impossible to break through Blissey without a nastypass, in which case you deal 48.2% - 57.1% (with timid and no LO for both calcs) to the same Blissey with a +2 Aura Sphere, meaning it is 2HKO with SR and lefties factored in. This gives the user a reason to Nastypass to CAP11

#2 With 120 Base Speed you will outspeed all non-scarfed users of CC. Meaning you can do major damage to them before they hit with a SE CC. This spread also ensures you can 2HKO all users of CC in OU with the appropriate move on the switch in (Besides Heracross, but thats what Togekiss is for). This speed also means you will outspeed Scarf Ttar.

#3 With the Defenses LO Starmie has a no chance of killing you with a neutral attack (such as Ice beam and Thunderbolt) even if their is SR on the field. (doing a maximum of 45.9%) You also easily outspeed and do major damage with STAB Dark attacks.

#4 Since Fighting type forces Bulk Up and CAP11 will probably be given Baton Pass, the slightly higher SpD makes for a better spread to abuse Bulk Up, even with Baton Pass. The 90 base Attack also ensures CAP11 will not be an unstopable force with a few Bulk Ups under its belt, but rather lets it be used in a cool gimicky BP chain, along with Togekiss.

Speed -- 117
Speed was the very first thing I decided. With 117 base speed, CaP11 sits just above Starmie and Scarftar, meaning it only has to take 1 attack when switching in on either. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's a troll speed, but the next step up in OU is Weavile's 125, so it shouldn't make that much of a difference.

The secondary reason for high speed is that High speed + medium special attack makes CaP11 an excellent recipient for Togekiss' Nasty Plots. The reverse situation, middling speed and high special attack, makes CaP11 a much better recipient of Zapdos' Agilities. Since an important goal is to make CaP11 a better partner for Togekiss than Zapdos, this is an imporant consideration.

Attack -- 82
Attack is minimized while still being rank 6. To be honest, we're not looking for CaP11 to be a huge physical presence. 82 is still enough to pose a threat to Blissey with STAB CC, and that's all it really needs. Actually, I'd like to make attack even lower, but rank 6 was decided, so rank 6 is what it is.

Code:
Close Combat
0 vs 252/252+ Blissey 55.7% - 65.8% -- Outruns Softboiled, WishBliss is problematic. Crit is 100% to OHKO from full health.
--EB vs 252/252+ Blissey 66.8% - 79% -- Outruns Wish, Blissey will die
0 vs 252/40 Cursetar 96% - 113.9% -- 100% to OHKO after SR + Leftovers. No Tyranitar build is more defensive.
0 vs 168/120 Curselax 52.5% - 62% -- >90% to 2HKO from full health. Almost any damage makes it 100%
LO 0 vs 4/0 Jolteon 79.4% - 93.8% -- decent chance to OHKO with SR, definitely if Jolteon has any prior damage.
Sp.Attack -- 102
102 Sp. Attack is there for one important reason: +2 LO Aura Sphere is 100% guaranteed to punch through Calm WishBliss. It also garners a lot of rather nice 2HKOs, and gets you a nice extra point if you want to run Modest.

Code:
Aura Sphere
252 vs 252/0 Tyranitar 104% - 122.8% -- 100% to OHKO
+2 252 vs 252/0 Blissey 53.8% - 63.3% -- Softboiled loses out on average. Crit is instant death.
+2 LO 252 vs 252/0+ Blissey 63.9% - 75.1% -- Outpaces Wish. Blissey will die in 4-5 hits on average.
252 vs 248/0 Scizor 56.6% - 66.5% -- 2HKO
LO 252 vs 252/92+ Umbreon 55.3% - 66% -- Wish+Protect Umbreon can stall here, all others are 2HKO'd
252 vs 4/0 Lucario 118.1% - 139.5% -- OHKO
LO 252 vs 0/0- Infernape 81.2% - 96.2% -- good chance to OHKO after SR
LO 252 vs 0/4 Heatran 94.7% - 111.5% -- OHKO after SR + Leftovers
252 vs 0/0 Mamoswine 103.6% - 123% -- OHKO

Dark Pulse
252 vs 0/4 LO Starmie 96.6% - 114.2% -- OHKO after any prior damage
252 vs 136/0 Spin Starmie 86.1% - 101.7% -- >90% to OHKO with SR
252 vs 252/0 Rotom-A 69.1% - 81.6% -- Clean 2HKO
LO 252 vs 252/0 Rotom-A 89.5% - 105.9% -- OHKO after SR
252 vs 0/4 Rotom-A 86.3% - 102.1% -- >90% to OHKO after SR
252 vs 4/0 Gengar 107.6% - 126.7% -- OHKO
LO 252 vs 252/56+ Cresselia 45% - 53.2% -- 100% to 3HKO. RestTalk and Moonlight will fail to stall out.

Ice Beam
LO 252 vs 248/0 Zapdos 64.8% - 76.2% -- Always outpaces Roost. Zapdos dies before you run out of PP.

HP -- 104
Def/Sp. Def -- 70
Of the 244 remaining EVs, 104/70/70 is the most efficient allocation if CaP11 runs a pure sweeper set. Since CaP11 is likely to run a pure sweeper set with its high speed and good Sp.Attack, this seems very reasonable. Additionally, if the player chooses to specialize in taking physical or special hits, this makes EV allocation much more efficient. 104 HP allows the option of 101 HP Substitutes, though it requires heavy EVing in HP. Since most Blissey are running Stoss these days, 101HP Subs help take the edge off her. Lastly, as an added bonus, 104 HP makes 0 HP investment a Life Orb number.

Code:
Assume 0/4 for all calculations
LO 252 Starmie Ice Beam 42.7% - 50.4% -- Does not 2HKO on average, Starmie is killed in return
LO 252 Starmie Surf 63.9% - 75.6% -- Painful, but survivable
0 Starmie Thunderbolt 26.1% - 30.9% -- not a problem, Starmie is still going to die
0 Rotom-A Thunderbolt 40.7% - 48.1% -- not a 2HKO, SR+Togekiss' attack leaves it in OHKO range
0 Zapdos Thunderbolt 47.3% - 55.9% -- Ouch...SR+Togekiss' attack is likely to leave it in OHKO range from Ice Beam, though.
252 Tyranitar Stone Edge 31.8% - 37.4% -- CaP11 easily switches in on ScarfTar and KOs it
+1 252+ Tyranitar Stone Edge 52.7% - 62.0% -- Not a OHKO, CaP11 still OHKOs back
+1 252+ Scizor Bullet Punch 61.9% - 73.1% -- Not an OHKO. It can't switch into CaP11's Aura Sphere, either, and obviously a Fire attack blows it away.
LO 252+ Lucario Xspeed 42.1% - 49.9% -- Barely a 2HKO with SR. Lucario is slaughtered by Aura Sphere.
LO 252 Gengar Thunderbolt 51.3% - 60.5% -- Not OHKO, Gengar dies horribly
0 Blissey Ice Beam/Flamethrower 20.6% - 24.4% -- Does not break sub
Total -- 545
I realize base stat total isn't competitively relevant, but I wanted the total to come out to 545 for 2 reasons. The first is that CaP BSTs have been getting progressively larger (Colo has 565, Krill has 575), and I think we need to get away from that. The second is that it's the same as Togekiss, which seems appropriate.

Selling points of my spread
--Lowest submitted BST of 545, to try to avert the BST creep CaP has had. Also matches Togekiss for a touch of flavor.
--High speed to outspeed Togekiss' counters. No need to take 2 hits from things like LO Starmie.
--Lowest submitted defenses. CaP11 is meant to be an offensive partner.
--101HP Substitutes, should the user choose to use them. Blissey is still problematic for CaP11 and Togekiss.

Consider this a freebie round for the lucky winner.

If anyone wants to use my defensive calculations matrix, here is an updated version. Basically you juts put the percentages in from Smogon's damage calculator. I tried to include every relevant move of the mons in the tier and have updated in in lieu of Latias/Mence's departure. For Grass knot just include an assumed weight.

Unfortunately I've not been able to develop anything better for offensive calculations.

HP:

Fuzznip's definition of this concept involves CAP11 being an offensive partner with Togekiss. We're not building this thing to tank hits, even if Togekiss is hit Super Effectively by a few. HP tailors to both defensive stats, and is arguably the most important defensive stat in terms of tanking hits. Therefore, I do not find the need to make the HP stat very high for CAP11. However, with that being said, as an offensive compliment, CAP11 also must be able to take on a good portion of Togekiss' counters and checks head-to-head (Zapdos, Rotom-A, etc.). A base stat of 75 is decent enough for an offensive threat, and combined with the defensive stats, provides it enough bulk to be 2HKO'd or 3HKO'd by certain moves Togekiss hates. It's not high, nor is it terribly low, but it gets the job done perfectly.

As a bonus, it's also bucking the trends of previous CAPs who have relied on their copious HP totals to accomplish their goals (half of the current CAPs have 100+ Base HP, and only two of the ten have lower than 90 Base HP). I personally would love to see this CAP accomplish its goal without a large HP stat, and with the concept, this seems easily possible.

Attack:

Having a decent Attack stat allows CAP11 to hit some targets, like Blissey and friends, hard. However, I feel that the Attack stat shouldn't be extremely high, as its STABs actually greatly benefit from Physical moves already. Having a stat of 85 is decent: it's not great, but it's not bad. It's about average. It prevents it from being an all-out wall-breaker, but it does beat certain targets a lot better than other attacks. Also, we want these STAB moves to be somewhat situational in terms of usage. We want CAP11 to utilize its Special attacks predominantly, as it is a special attacker. Some calculations:

Close Combat (Neutral 0 Atk)
Blissey: 57.1% - 67.5% (cannot Wish stall)
Snorlax: 53.7% - 63.6%
Heatran: 86.1% - 102.2%
Scarf Tyranitar: 157.9% - 187.1%

Close Combat (Neutral 252 Atk)
Blissey: 97.5% - 114.6%
Snorlax: 91.8% - 108.5%
Sp. Def Skarmory: 29.9% - 35.3%
Heatran: 113.3% - 133.7%
Scarf Tyranitar: 207% - 243.3%

Crunch/Sucker Punch (Neutral 0 Atk)
Defensive Rotom-A: 48% - 57.2%
Choice Rotom-A: 77.2% - 92.1%
Defensive Celebi: 36.1% - 43.1%
252 / 0 Celebi: 49.6% - 58.6%
4 / 0 Celebi: 57.9% - 68.4%
4 / 0 Gengar: 113% - 133.6%
252 / 252 + Cresselia: 28.4% - 33.8%
252 / 200 Cresselia: 32.4% - 38.3%

Crunch/Sucker Punch (Neutral 252 Atk)
Defensive Rotom-A: 61.8% - 73.7%
Choice Rotom-A: 100.4% - 119.5%
Defensive Celebi: 46.5% - 55.4%
252 / 0 Celebi: 63.7% - 75.7%
4 / 0 Celebi: 74.3% - 88.3%
4 / 0 Gengar: 147.3% - 174%
252 / 252 + Cresselia: 36.9% - 43.7%
252 / 200 Cresselia: 41.9% - 50%

Mostly everything else is hit harder with a Special attack, which is what we want. It doesn't thrive with Physical sweeping, but it can use it if it needs it.

Defense:

Base 90 Defense is perfect enough to take a wide arrange of attacks well. Once again, it's not going to be tanking hits with this stat, but it does allow it to survive a decent attack or two and hit back. It's not going to live through a Fighting attack, obviously, but we're looking for enough bulk to beat counters and such. Here's some calcs of the most common Physical move-using Pokemon in the OU metagame:

Neutral 0 /0 CAP11:
ScarfTar's Stone Edge: 31.3% - 37.1%
Stallbreaker Gliscor's EQ: 38.5% - 45.7%
Hippowdon's EQ: 44.7% - 52.9%
CBScizor's Bullet Punch: 60.8% - 71.5%
Swampert's EQ: 43.6% - 51.9%
CBWeavile's Ice Punch: 65.3% - 77.3%

It's no tank, but it does survive quite a few powerful, physical attacks so that it can retaliate (the most notable being Scizor's Bullet Punch). CAP11 getting one attack in can mean the difference between countering a threat and dying too fast. This is the perfect situation for CAP11 to be in.

Special Attack:

Here's where the "bread and butter" stats lie. We want CAP11 to be Specially oriented offensively, so it needs a nice Special Attack stat. However, you might be wondering why it's not much higher, seeing as this is where CAP11 "shines". First, I have come to the conclusion that a Special Attack stat that's 110 or higher, combined with Fighting + Dark STABs, completely wrecks every Special wall in the metagame with little to no effort, making it the ultimate wall breaker without the need to split EV's or use Physical attacks. Blissey, for example, would be cleanly 2HKO'd by STAB Focus Blast if the SpA is Base 110, even after two turns of Leftovers recovery. With 105 SpA, this give Blissey a chance to survive being 2HKO'd and eventually Wish stall Focus Blast's meager 8 PP. However, this still gives CAP11 immense power, being able to 2HKO Bronzong after SR and potentially 2HKO a CM Jirachi, even if it CM's for the second turn. Thus secondly, CAP11 only needs around 105 Base SpA to accomplish its job as Togekiss' perfect compliment. Some calculations (neutral 252 EV's):

CAP11's Focus Blast:
Bronzong: 47.9% - 56.8% (2HKO)
P. Defensive Forretress: 93.2% - 110.2%
CMSub Jirachi: 54.2% - 63.9%, 35.9% - 42.6% (potential 2HKO)
Specs Jolteon: 84.2% - 99.3% (Possible OHKO after SR)
Lead/Tank Metagross: 65.9% - 77.7%
Skarmory: 88% - 103.6% (OHKO after SR)
Offensive Suicune: 57% - 67.5%, 38.6% - 45.6% (potential 2HKO)
Defensive Suicune: 48.3% - 57.2% (2HKO)
Swampert: 59.4% - 70%
Tyranitar: OHKO on all variants.
Vaporeon: 51.1% - 60.3%

CAP11's Dark Pulse:
Defensive Celebi: 71.8% - 85.1%
Dusknoir: 76.2% - 90.5%
Gliscor: 52.5% - 61.9%
Defensive Rotom-A: 91.4% - 108.6% (OHKO after SR)
Rapid Spin Starmie: 113.9% - 134.2%
P. Defensive Zapdos: 41.8% - 49.6% (2HKO after SR)

These are some pretty nice numbers, and we're just talking about its STAB attacks. Note, however, that most of these hits are 2HKO's. This is actually a good thing, as if CAP11 is able to weaken these counters to Togekiss, or vice versa, our concept will succeed, enabling a Togekiss or CAP11 sweep. It's not overpowering enough to OHKO the entire metagame, but it's strong enough to punch holes in counters that Togekiss would greatly appreciate being weakened or eliminated.

Special Defense:

Much like Defense, we're looking for enough bulk to simply take on an attack or two and KO. We're also looking for balanced defenses here, as CAP11 needs to be able to survive moderate Special attacks as well as moderate Physical attacks used by Togekiss' counters. The only way to show it is through calcs:

Neutral 0 / 0 CAP11:
Defensive Rotom-A's TBolt: 40.2% - 47.4%
P. Defensive Zapdos' TBolt: 46.4% - 55%
Specially Based Infernape's Fire Blast: 81.4% - 96.2%
Starmie's LO Ice Beam/TBolt: 41.9% - 49.5%
Magnezone's TBolt: 58.1% - 69.8%
Vaporeon's Surf: 41.6% - 49.5%

Speed

As with every CAP, Speed is of great importance. Base 105 Speed allows CAP11 to outspeed every Base 100 Pokemon, which are plentiful in the tier. Out of these Pokemon, out-speeding Zapdos is of great importance. The only Pokemon that out-speed a Base 105 Pokemon are:

  • Aerodactyl
  • Azelf
  • Gengar
  • Infernape
  • Jolteon
  • Ninjask
  • Starmie
  • Weavile
Out of all of these, only Jolteon is immune to TWave from Togekiss (and somewhat Starmie if it can switch out). Only Gengar (somewhat), Infernape, and Jolteon pose a real problem for this duo, which is decent, as this duo still has its weaknesses. A good portion of these Pokemon are also dealt well with by Togekiss, which adds to the necessity of the core pairing. I don't want CAP11 out-speeding every counter, lest it will become too powerful of a Pokemon individually. I feel the benchmark should be placed at Base 100's not for Jirachi and Celebi and the like, but for Zapdos. Out-speeding Infernape and Gengar seems like a cop-out to dealing with a major counter when they can be dealt with by Togekiss or CAP10 regardless of Speed. Zapdos, on the other hand, requires CAP11 to get two hits on guaranteed.

100 HP

Min: 341
Max: 404

101 HP Substitutes are the main selling point of this spread, for setting up on Blissey (she can only break a 4/0 CAP11 Substitute with a lucky damage roll on Thunder), and makes it a bit easier to invest in defenses on an offensive set.

90 Attack
Min-: 194
Min: 216
Max: 279
Max+: 306

Originally, I considered 95 Attack to guarantee an OHKO on 252/252 Bold Blissey with Close Combat, but after consideration I decided to let rocks cover the gap to add some needed speed (to reach 116) while preserving a PS of 6. If a guaranteed non-rocks OHKO is necessary, a +Attack nature will still bridge the gap. Worth noting is that a base 90 Crunch 2HKOs Cresselia with a base 104 Dark Pulse, regardless of her spread; which a base 85 Crunch cannot do.

75 Defense
Min-: 167
Min: 186
Max: 249
Max+: 273

Twin 75 defenses are meant to require slight EV investment in order to take the attacks CAP11's user wants it to take. On the physical side, slight investment saves CAP11 from being 2HKO'd by Lucario's and Tyranitar's Stone Edge (after Sand Stream), along with assorted Ice- and ThunderPunches.

104 Special Attack
Min-: 219
Min: 244
Max: 307
Max+: 337

This odd Special Attack total is the highest possible, with 116 base Speed, that doesn't push into SS rank 8 (actually that's a lie, 105 is, but 104 makes the BST add up to 560 instead of 561, which would bother me forever). It gets the job decently enough on its own, but really shines after a NastyPass - scroll up and double all of the Special calcs to see what I mean. 98.8% - 116.5% with +2 Dark Pulse to standard offensive Zapdos speaks for itself. Running mixed with Bulk Up or Meditate (or Swords Dance, if the powers that be see fit) also becomes a real option with this kind of Special Attack.

75 Special Defense
Min-: 167
Min: 186
Max: 249
Max+: 273

Twin 75 defenses are meant to require slight EV investment in order to take the attacks CAP11's user wants it to take. On the scecial side, slight investment saves CAP11 from being 2HKO'd by most non-Zapdos Thunderbolts and all non-STAB Ice Beams, along with avoiding OHKOs from random moves like Gengar's Focus Blast or Lucario's Aura Sphere.

116 Speed
Min-: 241
Min: 268
Max: 331
Max+: 364

The most obvious function of base 116 Speed is to outrun Starmie, Raikou, and Azelf. +Speed CAP11 also comfortably outspeeds ScarfZone, Neutral Aerodactyl, Sceptile, Dugtrio, and Jolteon, and speed ties with +1 Tyranitar (not that T-Tar ever survives Life Orb Mach Punch). This also frees one of Togekiss' moveslots of Thunder Wave, which is imperative if we want her to be NastyPassing.

Conclusion:
With this spread, CAP11 becomes a frighting mixed sweeper on his own (meaning it doesn't need 'Kiss to be viable, one of the goals in this project). However, with a NastyPass, CAP11 becomes a fearsome special sweeper that puts down many of its would-be counters. With Wish support, CAP11 can wear down a great many of Toge's counters. He can come in on the pink blob and set up under a Substitute that Blissey just can't break. He can barely survive whatever the player needs him to, based on the needs of his or her particular Togekiss variant, and the team as a whole. It can't protect 'Kiss from every threat at once, but neither should it be able to. Instead, CAP11 becomes either the hunter that comes out of a pivot to threaten her counters, or the stalwart guardian to protect her from her own weakpoints.

Just like SkarmBliss often resorts to pokes like Tentacruel to deal with would-be wallbreakers (Infernape says hi), CAPKiss should resort to certain pivots to get CAP11 in on the narrow list of threats that scare them both. Rotom can soak hits from powerful fighting attacks, STAB Thunderbolts, and attracts Ghost moves for 'Kiss (and CAP11) to come in on; CAP11 can also come in on Dark moves aimed at Rotom. Jolteon and Lanturn both absorb Electric and attract Earthquakes for Togekiss to come in on; Lanturn also handles Ice attacks and attracts Grass moves. Electivire practically begs to form an offensive trio with CAPKiss, offering exceptional coverage to CAP11's amazing STAB combo, while gaining boosts on Togekiss's Electric weakness and attracting Earthquakes. Electivire also enjoys a NastyPass, and can serve as a reserve recipient in case CAP11 is taken out of commission early. Dugtrio is another option, trapping any Thunderbolt user not named Zapdos or Gengar and disposing of them with Earthquake, or setting up Substitute in the case of a Choiced Electric attack. Finally, Gliscor soaks Electric for Togekiss, and Fighting for CAP11, making him an excellent pivot in both directions. One must be wary of pivoting 'Kiss or Gliscor into an Ice attack, however.

EDIT:
Sorry about the stretching! D: Didn't think this post would be considered "long" by the standards of a thread like this.

Now marked as a Final Submission.

I'd like to present the following as my stat spread submission for CAP11.

Base Stat Distribution
90 HP / 85 Atk / 80 Def / 105 SpA / 80 SpD / 110 Spe
Derived Statistics (Calculator)
PS: 153 (R6: Very Good)
PT: 132 (R5: Good)
SS: 193 (R7: Excellent)
ST: 131 (R5: Good)
BSR: 337 (R6: Very Good)
BST: 550
I will go through the relevant individual sections of the stats and discuss why I made them as I did, and then review some damage calculations to help reinforce the points I make.

Overall Style

The overall style for these stats is to function as a specially-inclined mixed sweeper. There are hints of Infernape in this stat spread, but with the bulk of something like Machamp and the special inclination of something like Gengar, all rounded together into what you see above. I generally felt that hitting harder on the special side was important, as STAB in Fighting-type attacks goes a long way to punch through special walls, such as Snorlax and Blissey. The special inclination is so that once these special tanks are out of the way or too scared to come in, CAP11 needs the special punch to take out typically physically defensive threats like Zapdos, Celebi, and Rotom-A. With his Fighting/Dark typing and higher SpA stat, CAP11 can beat down many things that would otherwise threaten a Togekiss sweep, such as Blissey and Rotom-A.

Offensive Reasoning

Base 85 Attack is a reasonable attacking stat. You won't be sweeping teams with it, but it is a good level to have when using high-power super effective attacks against very specific threats. It is important in a mixed sweeper to be able to have enough of an offensive presence to scare off would-be counters, and a base 85 Attack stat does just that. Let me show you with some relevant calculations to show you what I mean. Notice how even 252/4 Skarmory is never 2HKOed by Close Combat; this, in my opinion, is an important upper threshold for the Attack stat of CAP11.
Code:
All calculations will assume a neutral nature in the attacking stat,
so add 10% damage if you're using a boosting nature. You shouldn't be
using a reducing nature ever, though, if you're using that attack.

I have provided CAP11 with a base 105 Special Attack stat, which clearly indicates its special bias. With just enough physical firepower to scare off special walls, special-attacking CAP11 has a better shot at dealing some serious damage with its attacks. This stat is just enough alone to OHKO defensive Rotom-A after Stealth Rock damage, and can even go so far as 2HKOing physically defensive Zapdos with Stealth Rock damage. I have provided +2 calculations for if someone pulls off a successful Nasty Plot Baton Pass from Togekiss to CAP11, and these damage calculations indicate just how powerful such a prospect is. Notice how a +2 Dark Pulse has enough power to even OHKO physically bulky Cresselia without Stealth Rock damage. A base 105 Special Attack stat, as you can see, gives CAP11 enough power to punch through a lot of the metagame, but doesn't overdo it and still hits a few roadblocks against specific Pokemon. This is important for balancing CAP11, but keeping its offensive presence high in the OU metagame.

Defensive Reasoning

I have given CAP11 90/80/80 defenses. As is plainly visible, these balanced stats are much alike Machamp, who has 90/80/85 defenses. This should give you a hint at the sort of bulk that CAP11 will have with my spread. The following calculations have been prepared to provide you with an idea of what this sort of bulk can achieve, if the comparison to Machamp weren't enough. Notice that if, for whatever reason we decided to use Leftovers, we would not be 2HKOed by Physically Defensive Zapdos's Thunderbolt. I have only provided calculations from threats that everyone has been concerned with since the beginning of this CAP project. Offensively inclined Pokemon, such as Jolteon, put a serious hole in these defenses, but it's important to see below that Choice Specs Jolteon's Thunderbolt does not OHKO CAP11 after Stealth Rock damage. That is a respectable feat for a mostly offensive Pokemon, and something that I believe CAP11 needs. Lastly, if 252 HP EVs are used, Choice Scarf Tyranitar's Superpower will never OHKO CAP11, which is impressive and the threshold I used for CAP11's physical defensiveness.

Speed Reasoning

A lot of people think it's important to outspeed Starmie. A lot of people think it's important to outspeed Choice Scarf Tyranitar. I say that these threats are things that CAP11 should not deal with. It is important, first and foremost, for there to exist Pokemon that can wear a core down, both offensively and defensively. That means that things like Choice Scarf Tyranitar or Life Orb Starmie need to be trouble. I fixed the Speed stat for CAP11 at 110, right on top of Gengar. I did this for two primary reasons:

  • Reliably outspeeding Infernape with maximum Speed investment.
  • Always Speed tying with Gengar - a tie that can make or break a match if the players are willing to risk it.
Gengar can OHKO CAP11 with Focus Blast. CAP11 can OHKO Gengar with Dark Pulse / Crunch. This is an important and very balancing Speed tie for CAP11, one that keeps it in check by the faster metagame. I imagine partners for CAP11 outside of Togekiss and other bulky Flying-types would include specially bulky pivots like Bronzong (for Stealth Rock) and Snorlax. These pivots will support the core well, made more so by the fact that the player may not always be willing to risk a Speed tie with Gengar or losing out against the likes of Starmie. 110 is enough Speed for CAP11, and I hope that after reading this, you will agree.

Closing Remarks

Abilities are going to play a large role in exactly how much damage is either dealt by or dealt to CAP11. Suffice in knowing, though, that I have tailored these stats to supply CAP11 with the necessary bulk and necessary offensive power to support Togekiss well and play effectively on his own in the metagame. Simultaneously, I have tried very hard to keep the effective power level of these stats reasonable so that we are not creating "just another broken CAP" as many nay-sayers would like to call them. I hope that you all see in these stats the same balance that I put many hours developing and testing out.

Good luck to all entrants of this stage of the process!

I think that we first need to consider whether or CAP11 is going to be the receiver of NP boosts (Spread 1) or Paralysis support (Spread 2).

Spread 1:
HP: 110 / Attack: 90 / Defense: 70 / Special Attack: 100 / Special Defense: 80/ Speed: 110
PS: 6 (157) / PT: 5 (133) / SS: 7 (189) / ST: 5 (149) / OR: 7 (350)

I first looked at what speed I felt would be good to outrun some Pokemon that were troublesome to Togekiss. Jolteon was my first thought, but running over 130 speed would have left too little attack to get important KOs on Blissey, Snorlax and Tyranitar. I originally had 120 Speed to outrun Starmie and Raikou, but decided that Starmie was not a major concern for Togekiss and that Raikou was uncommon enough that it wouldn't be a significant disadvantage if we could not outrun them if they did show up, so I changed it to 110 speed to tie with Gengar and to outspeed Infernape and Zapdos. I then looked for a high enough SpAttack stat that would be able to O/2HKO offensive Rotom-A and Zapdos with Dark Pulse (and SR).
The HP is high enough that CAP11 will be able to make 101 HP Substitutes (which is important against Blissey, who I imagine CAP11 will be switching in against quite often), if it has a significant EV investment, yet not high enough that it can have 101 Substitute and put a large portion of its EVs to put into its offensive stats. The Special Defense allows CAP11 to survive 2 T-Bolts from defensive Rotom-A and Zapdos and non-LO Surfs from Starmie. The final stat I decided was Defense, and I just put that to the highest possible stat, so it could survive as many physical attacks as possible.

This is a Dragonite-esque offensive spread. It has increased power in both stats, which can lead to some KOs with SR and one or two layers of Spikes, though it is too slow to take advantage of its power, which is why it requires the paralysis support of Togekiss. If Togekiss is able to Paralyze a few members of the opponents team, and pass a Nasty Plot boost, this spread could make CAP11 near unstoppable, except by teams that carry multiple priority attackers.

The defenses give some versatility to CAP11, alowing it to survive a hit or two from some Togekiss' counters without EV investment, leaving the EVs to be put in (Special) Attack so it can net the necessary KOs for this duos success. It also has the option of pumping EVs into its defenses to survive more attacks and run a possible Bulk Up set, yet the lack of EVs in its Special Attack will be noticeable when you could fail to 3HKO Zapdos with Stealth Rocks

My proposed spread for CAP11:

HP: 115
Attack: 83
Defense: 71
Special Attack: 105
Special Defense: 72
Speed: 113

Total BST: 559

BSR:

PS- 151 (Very Good)
PT- 139 (Good)
SS- 197 (Excellent)
ST: 140 (Good)

O/D Balance: 8.8 (Moderate offensive bias)
P/S Balance: -6.68 (Moderate special bias)

Overall rating: 349 (Very Good)

Yeah so I definitely stat whored this.

115/71/72 defenses give the best mixed bulk of anyone who has posted so far (no one ninja me on this please) and are the most efficient use of stats that I could think of, so that's why that particular defensive spread was chosen. A pure-sweeper spread with this can still survive LO Starmie's Hydro Pump and KO back with Dark Pulse, for reference, while bulkier spreads can sometimes avoid a 2hko from Specs Jolteon's Thunderbolt and cool things like that (although you won't be doing too much back without Earth Power/Earthquake).

For the speed, I wanted something that could outrun Gengar so we could avoid taking SE Focus Blasts; this was the key consideration. However, I drew the line at outspeeding Starmie just because I think it's completely unnecessary given the direction of this core. Fuzznip made it fairly clear that we're not expecting this core to take on everything, so 115+ speed seemed a little excessive for a sweeper with near-perfect STAB coverage, excellent special attack, good typing and what will undoubtedly be a very competitive movepool.
113 lets us outrun Gengar and things aiming to outrun Gengar (232 EVs hit a jump point, putting CAP11 at 352 SPE) while still having something to invest in attack should we choose.

Speaking of attack, 83 base ATK with 20 points of investment (taken from speed) allow CAP11 to ohko any Blissey that switches in on literally any of its probable special attacks with a follow-up Close Combat (the damage roll against 252/252 Bold Blissey is 75.1% - 88.5%). I didn't think any more ATK than this was necessary, given that Blissey and Snorlax are really the only things that should be getting hit on the physical side anyway, and 83 ATK takes care of them just fine.

The special attack was basically chosen because it's the highest I could go without going over the BSR limit. It hits pretty hard. If it gets a NastyPass from Togekiss the Aura Sphere is going to hit Bold Blissey about as hard as the Close Combat does, which is pretty nice.

Anyway, that's my spread. Feedback is appreciated!

Something even I overlooked: Just looking at CAP11's required Type Moves (and moves required for all Pokemon), it can use Substitute and Focus Punch. Maybe someone can get us the calcs on that? (I've done more than enough calc pasting for one day ;-;)

Outspeeds Zapdos and Rotom, which seem to be the important Togekiss counters to beat. Everything faster than this is looking at OHKO's or 2HKO's, so it should work well.

Offenses
80 Atk 108 SpAtk
With a Timid nature and Life Orb, a combination of Aura Sphere and Close Combat kills Blissey, assuming SR. Snorlax is 2HKOed by Aura Shpere after SR. The SpAtk is high enough to do a lot of damage with amazing STAB coverage, but not strong enough to be an instant team breaker. It's definitely high enough to be frightening with a +2 boost from Togekiss, though.

Good, but not great. If you're running Leftovers, you can switch in on defensive Zapdos and not be 2HKOed. ScarfTar can't 2HKO you, and +1 DDtar can't OHKO you, so it's bulky enough to reliably beat Tyranitar. Unfortunately, Gengar with any boosting item OHKOes it with Focus Blast. I chose small HP and high defenses because, although they are pretty decent with no investment, they get markedly better when 252 HP EV's are added. Although I didn't want it to be necessary, I wanted there to be some reward for putting EV's towards HP and using Togekiss' paralysis to patch up the speed. With full investment in HP and Defenses, this stat spread is bulky enough to use any support options we think Togekiss might need.

Overall, it's quite well rounded, with offenses that are good enough to abuse the awesome typing and above average defenses that make it hard to OHKO without strong super effective moves.

So, FlareBlitz, why 113 speed instead of 112? There's literally nothing in between the two--Jolly Scarf Rampardos and Adamant Scarf Seaking fall below both, while Timid ScarfZone and Adamant Scarf Gross/Breloom fall above. Meanwhile, 112 has precedent in Purugly, and you can dump that stat point into defense while still staying in the ranges. Alternatively, 114 puts you above Adamant ScarfGross/Breloom, and brings your BST up to a nice round 560, while staying in the ranges.

Something even I overlooked: Just looking at CAP11's required Type Moves (and moves required for all Pokemon), it can use Substitute and Focus Punch. Maybe someone can get us the calcs on that? (I've done more than enough calc pasting for one day ;-;)
SubPunch usually runs leftovers, and an unboosted Focus Punch has about the same power as LO Close Combat. With no attack investment, the lowest suggested base attack of 82 does 69.2% - 81.8% to 252/252+ Blissey, assuredly outrunning WishBliss' recovery.

EDIT: Also, Anachronism, your Special Tankiness is out of range. Rank 5 is required, not Rank 4.

True, but Wish support from Kiss makes a hit-and-run SubPuncher (what's that look for D:) with Life Orb a possibility. Sub, Punch, and switch to Kiss or a pivot? Or Sub, and choice of B-Passing to Kiss or Punching. I think it has potential, anyway, and could be worth looking in to!

EDIT: Sorry about the stretching, Fuzz! D: Didn't think that post would be considered "long" by the standards of a thread like this.

And now, my view on the reasoning behind our numbers.

The 120 Speed is probably the one thing Jibaku and I both wanted extremely. This allows it to outpace Jolly ScarfTar, Aura Sphere and prevent it from causing further damage to Togekiss, especially if you run a Togekiss without Aura Sphere, or Choice-locked on Air Slash. This also puts it above Starmie and Gengar, who both carry extremely strong Thunderbolts (and in the case of Starmie, Hydro Pump), that can pose enough of a threat to 2HKO some Togekiss that don't invest in HP or SpD. What's more is that by having a higher speed than these threats, CAP11 is not forced to rely on the slightly unreliable Sucker Punch, and there is no guarantee it will learn Sucker Punch (not a Type-Move for Dark-types, oddly). That, and the fact that it has a weaker attack means that Sucker Punch may not even guarantee the KO, even on Starmie and Gengar's weaker Defense stat. A follow on to this, is that CAP11 then is not forced to rely on Togekiss' shaky Thunder Wave support, since if we make CAP11 slow, that's two Pokemon below the 90 Speed threshold, making the pair even easier to destroy, as neither will then be able to launch Thunder Waves to support one of the other. It means we can concentrate on having Togekiss passing Nasty Plots to aid CAP11's sweep.

Coming onto that, the subject of power. 100 SpA is equal to the likes of Tyranitar and Starmie. While they seem like powerful attackers (definitely in the case of Starmie, and Tyranitar's Bait Killer set also shouldn't be overlooked), they actually lack the power to OHKO anything significant. And you should also remember they have access to an incredible movepool with near perfect SE coverage, while CAP11 will likely be limited to STAB moves, and with good NEUTRAL coverage. This basically means by itself, CAP11 is not going to be a very effective sweeper, since it is going to miss KOs on quite a few threats it can't hit SE, thus further relying on Togekiss' Nasty Plot to do any significant damage (see: above calcs). The best thing is that anything significant it can't KO, (even with a boost in some cases) are also doing enough damage back to it so that it's going to be put into a difficult situation, as we don't want this core to be unbreakable. Conversely, I wanted Attack to be as useless as possible. My original rough Spread had an Attack stat of 60, as this was just barely enough to 2HOK Blissey and Snorlax with Close Combat. I do not want to see a Physical set becoming plausible, especially if you consider that 100 base SpA with a +2 boost can 2HKO Blissey with Aura Sphere. An attempted mixed attacker set is plausible, perhaps Sucker Punch / 3 Special attacks, as you're probably only using Sucker Punch to KO anything faster, i.e. Azelf, Scarfed stuff and Jolteon. Anything else slower either doesn't pose as much of a threat, or you can dispatch after a Nasty Plot boost.

Bulk-wise, this was actually the part I paid most attention to detail with and that Jibaku and I changed the most often. Quite simple, the job is this - avoid being 2HKOed by anything that threatens Togekiss, make sure it doesn't wall anything at all. UNforunately, that second point was hard to do, due to typing, but we made it weak enough that anything remotely offensive could KO it with the right attack and situation. 95 HP / 95 SpD was a good ballpark, as it could then survive neutral Thunderbolts and such. However, the problem then was making it weaker as to not get too defensive, while balancing the Special Bulk and Physical Bulk. As Deck Knight showed a while ago, any physical offensive attack is either going to flat out KO you or is rare and/or weak. As a result, we could afford a lower Physical Bulk, as then it can just about avoid 2HKOes on Physical Attacks that are weak. But as we said, any physical attack worth thinking about is going to punch CAP11 into next year, so it wasn't that important.

TL;DR - less physical power, more concentrated special bias.

My stat spread is very similar to the well-reasoned one proposed (with calcs) by LouisCyphre, with a few important differences. He's given excellent explanations of the quirks of his spread - with calcs that are also valid for this one - so I'm just going to explain the things that set our spreads apart.

132 HP / 90 Atk / 57 Def / 105 SpA / 58 Def / 117 Spe
PS: 168 (Rank 6)
PT: 127 (Rank 5)
SS: 199 (Rank 7)
ST: 128 (Rank 5)
BSR: 345 (Rank 6)
O/D: 11.13 (Offensive bias)
P/S: -4.78 (Slight Special bias)

The major difference between my spread and LouisCyphre's is the balance between HP and defenses. 132 base HP allows CAP 11 to make 101 Substitutes without investment, meaning that it can threaten Blissey more effectively. Other spreads don't have the same scare factor for Blissey, as the pink blob can just paralyse CAP 11 and heal away the damage later. If CAP 11 is threatening to set up a Sub (it doesn't actually have to carry the move) that Blissey can't break, it's far less likely that Bliss will come in or stay in on CAP 11. If CAP 11 can set up more easily on Blissey, Togekiss benefits.

The other advantage of high HP is that CAP 11 can choose, dependent on its ability, moves and teammates, which attacks it can absorb and which pokemon it can switch in on. This will help the rest of the project flow more fluidly, and provide a greater range of options to the CAP 11 end user.

A second, less important difference is that CAP 11 doesn't tie with Jolly +1 Tyranitar any more, as it is slightly faster. ScarfTar is an important enough consideration to justify that extra speed point because it can easily switch in on Togekiss and threaten. It's a minor change, but one which benefits the core.

The Stat Spread of the Lolcat!

100/88/77/100/80/117

Justification:

Though 100 HP is a little high, I though 101 HP substitutes are a great asset for CAP11 to help counter Blissey's evil Seismic Tosses. 100 base HP makes CAP11 quite bulky despite the lacking defenses, as with adequate Def investment or a Sub, it could take better STAB Steel attacks from the likes of Metagross, Scizor, and Haxrachi.

Atk- 88. It can effectively pull a Mixed Sweeper set if it wanted to, in case it can't get a NastyPass boost from Togekiss. Also, its STAB physical moves are generally stronger than the Special ones, so a moderate Atk investment should be necessary for CAP11.

Def- 77. Not horrible, but not stellar either. I wanted to make this higher, but the BSR limit wasn't nice enough to...I'll get you for this Fuzznip! :D.

SpA- 100. CAP11 doesn't need a terribly high Special Attack stat as it could easily recieve a Nasty Plot from it's Perfect Mate, so I went with more Speed but enough Special Attack to fit in the BSR limit. With a Nasty Plot boost and 299/328 Special Attack plus Stab and LO if you swing that way it will be enough to seriously dent the metagame, also many Pokemon will have to survive TWO hits because of that crazy Speed.

SpD- 80. Mostly a "solid defenses and inside the BSR limit" thing, but 80 SpD allows it to take Special hits (remember 100 HP) such as nonSTAB Boltbeams and Surfs from weaker Pokemon such as Vaporeon (who doesn't invest much in SpA) and CroCune, who (if a good movepool), really shouldn't be setting up on CAP11.

Speed- 117. Oh yeah, it's trolling time. You can kill Starmies, ScarfTars, Azelfs, other 115 ish Pokemon, etc. Who doesn't love trolling speed? I DO!

Ice-eyes, I didn't even consider uninvested101 HP subs. I actually like that re-spread a lot. It even requires less investment to hit a Lefties number!

HP: 160
Attack: 90
Defense: 55
Special Attack: 130
Special Defense: 55
Speed: 75

PS : 124 (4 : Average)
PT : 142 (5 : Good)
SS : 176 (7 : Excellent)
ST : 141 (5 : Good)

O/D Balance : 5.03 (Moderately biased towards Offense)
P/S Balance : -7.43 (Moderately biased towards Special)

Overall Rating : 320 (6 : Very Good)
I know this is an odd spread, but it serves a specific purpose. Depending on its set, Togekiss can pass Nasty Plots, spread paralysis or need it to sweep, and it can even beat some of its counters by replacing Aura Sphere with another move. This spread is designed to let CAP11 partner well with any kind of Togekiss, as well as defeating many of its counters.

Quick overview :

HP/Def/SpD:

Very high base HP and very low defenses have two advantages over a more balanced spread : substitute unbreakable by Blissey's ST (even with no HP investment) and most importantly versatility, depending on EV investment.

Atk/SpA/Spe :

As Fighting and Dark are poor SpA STABs, we should not be afraid of giving it a sky-high SpA to compensate for it. Mediocre speed is perfect for two reasons : with three STAB priority moves, including the powerful Dark-typed Sucker Punch, it doesn't need high speed to beat most of Togekiss' counters. However, Togekiss' paralysis support will let it use the stronger CC, Aura Sphere and Dark Pulse, while its Nasty Plot passing will let it sweep with Vacuum Wave + Sucker Punch to beat Ghost and Psychics. 75 Base Speed let it outspeed most notably Metagross and Skarmory, while still being slow enough to prevent it from sweeping by itself.

Detailed exemples :

Defensive set example : +Def Nature, 252 Def / 252 SpD / 4 HP @ Leftovers

Scarf Rotom's TBolts only deal 29.9% - 35.4%, letting it switch in unboosted special attacks with relative ease and threaten with Dark Pulse and (probably) TWave to help Togekiss even if the opponent switches out. Even Zapdos won't like paralysis either, especially not if paired with Ice Beam as it won't be able to roost off its Ice weakness.

130 base SpA let it OHKO Gengar and Starmie with Dark Pulse and 2HKO Zapdos with Ice Beam without investment while it can't 3HKO you with leftovers. Defensive Rotom-A is 2HKOed by both Dark Pulse and Crunch/Sucker Punch, but even Scarf Rotom-A doesn't 3HKO. LO Jolteon isn't countered as effectively, but it only 3HKO at full health with leftovers while you can 2HKO it with Sucker Punch. Aura Sphere + CC + SR does 88% min to Blissey, so she can't switch in easily.

Why it isn't broken : without offensive investment and because of its poor special STABs and speed, it wont hurt much without super effectiveness and its durability is greatly limited by its crippling Fighting weakness.

LO Starmie BoltBeam : 27.5% - 32.5%
LO Starmie Surf : 41.2% - 48.8%
Defensive Zapdos TBolt : 32.1% - 38%
Scarf Rotom-A TBolt : 30.8% - 36.4%
LO Jolteon TBolt : 43.8% - 51.6%
LO Gengar TBolt : 33.2% - 39%
ScarfTran Fire Blast : 48.2% - 56.8%

LO Gyarados Stone Edge : 16.9% - 20%
LO Gyarados Waterfall : 40.6% - 48.2%
CB Scizor Bullet Punch : 36.4% - 43%
ScarfTar Stone Edge : 18.7% - 22.1%
ScarfTar Superpower : 59.9% - 70.7%
CBSwine Ice Shard : 22.1% - 26%
CBSwine EQ : 54.9% - 64.6%
+252 Atk Leftovers Machamp Dynamic Punch : 96.3% - 113.7%
Skarmory Brave Bird : 52.1% - 61.6%

As a reminder, Crunch = Sucker Punch = Pursuit if the opponent switch
Crunch vs. Scarf Rotom-A : 63.1% - 74.7%
Crunch vs. Defensive Rotom-A : 38.2% - 46.1%
Crunch vs. LO Gengar : 90.4% - 108%
Crunch vs. LO Starmie : 69.7% - 82.8%
Crunch vs. LO Jolteon : 44.1% - 52.2%
Stone Edge vs. Physically Defensive Zapdos : 28.2% - 33.4%
Close Combat vs. CBTar : 114.4% - 136.5%
Close Combat vs Curselax : 57.3% - 67.2%
Close Combat vs. 252 HP/252 Def Bold Blissey : 59.9% - 70.9%

Dark Pulse vs. Scarf Rotom-A : 84.6% - 100.4%
Dark Pulse vs. Defensive Rotom-A : 67.1% - 79.6%
Dark Pulse vs. LO Gengar : 104.2% - 124.1%
Dark Pulse vs. LO Starmie : 95% - 112.6%
Ice Beam vs. Physically Defensive Zapdos : 49.1% - 58%
Aura Sphere vs. 0 SpD Skarmory : 48.8% - 57.8%
Aura Sphere vs. CBTar : 127% - 151.2%
Aura Sphere vs Curselax : 33.4% - 39.8%
Aura Sphere vs. 252/252 Bold Blissey : 26.3% - 31.4%

Offensive set example : +SpA Nature, 252 Atk/252 SpA @ Life Orb

Scarf Rotom-A's TBolt deals 46.9% - 55.3%, so CAP11 can't switch in as easily but Sucker Punch always OHKO it. Close Combat OHKO Blissey, Snorlax and TTar. With a Nasty Plot passed by Togekiss, +2 Focus Blast OHKO 0 SpD Bold Blissey with SR. +2 Aura Sphere OHKO Snorlax, Metagross, Skarmory and Scarf Jirachi. +2 Vacuum Wave OHKO Infernape and Lucario and +2 Aura Sphere OHKO Machamp, so Fighting types can't revenge it anymore. The same is true if Togekiss managed to paralyze them, as Aura Sphere is even stronger than +2 Vacuum Wave.

Why it isn't broken : even with LO and offensive investment, its poor special STABS and mediocre speed prevent it from sweeping, while it loses most of its bulk because of its horrible Def and SpD.

LO Starmie BoltBeam : 39.3% - 46.4%
LO Starmie Surf : 58.8% - 69.6%

It's the versatility of having high HP and weak defenses, when it comes to EVing. As long as Defense and Special Defense are adjusted accordingly, I don't really see the issue with massive HP counts. (SubSeed them! :D)

I do. High HP stats are an abuse of the BSR calculator's formulas. They are, without a doubt, superior to having balanced HP/defenses and result in the CAP being far bulkier than it should be all under the guise of "staying within the limits" imposed by the TL. I don't favor any stat distribution that abuses high HP, especially not for this CAP.

I couldn't agree with you more..well except for the abuse of BSR formula. Does HP have a greater impact towards the PT/ST of a Pokemon then it's defense? Having huge HP is nice and all, but CAP11 isn't mean to be super bulky in any possible way. Can we for once not creating a creature with 100+ in base HP? 95 to 70 is acceptable in my book.

Edit: Okay so having High HP/Low Defense doesn't make it more bulker than should it, I would like it if this CAP project had less than 100 base HP.

For reference, Azumarill has 100 HP and isn't exactly the bulkiest thing in the world. Perhaps we should aim for something along those lines? All I really want are the 101 Substitutes for setup fun on Blissey.

EDIT: Yeah, Azumarill's defenses are 100/80/80, which outperforms most of the suggested spreads and would probably make a good benchmark for us to aim for.
