Role Justification: RIP no weaknesses. Still a cool lead that either sets hazards or deals damage and either switches out or dies. Also can either be physical or special with a three attack + set up life orb sets. As water types become more common, the water absorb will be pretty handy. You have no resistances, and weak bulk, so hyper offensive is the way to go.

However, its mediocre speed and prominent weakness to Electric makes it somewhat easy to pressure offensively. Being weak to Stealth Rocks is also never a good thing.

Levitate + neutrality to Stealth stock makes it a decent remover. However, its very poor defensive typing and physical bulk allows it to be easily revenge killed.

I changed stats to make them pretty but also nerfed its speed significantly in exchange for a little attack buff. It may not seem like much, but this thing with band is a monster (fimp has 30% chance to ohko Whimsy Sands after rocks), so in order to give our newly introduced rock types a niche they serve to check this thing, with its speed tier being changed to outspeed rotoghold but be outsped by Iron Meta to avoid annoying speed ties.

Role Justification: Looking at the roster list, the metagame is currently short on Ice-types so I wanted to make one. Char-Pao functions as a fast Ice-type Attacker with a valuable Fire STAB to cover Steel-types. Char-Pao is versatile, with many different tools to punish the opposition. It can sweep with either Dragon Dance, wallbreak with Swords Dance. It can also act as a special wallbreaker under the Sun thanks to its ability. It can even run a Belly Drum set thanks to its high Speed and access to moves such as Flame Charge and Ice Shard. Its versatility gives it unpredictability which can make it challenging to check.
Its mediocre defensive typing, double weakness to Stealth Rock, and vulnerability to all forms of hazards keep it balanced. Its power is also rather tame when unboosted.

Role Justification: What's this? A special attacking Fighting and Rock type? A bit of a novelty admittedly but its still pretty interesting. Fighting and Rock are known to be primarily physical attacking types, mostly because we rarely have any (if at all) special attacking mons with these types but they also lack good STAB moves on the special side too. Nihishao manages to somehow meet both those requirements, with good STABs on both types with a statspread that allows it to make use of it to a nice degree. You've still got stuff like Knock Off and pivoting as well as hazard setting, while also making use of Regen for longevity and Beast Boost to get the ball rolling outside of Calm Mind or Meteor Beam.

Nasty Plot or Swords Dance are both used if you wish to use it as a setup sweeper (as with its blistering speed it would be quite effective at this) and it still has some stuff like Teleport or Trick if you wish.

Role Justification: Simply put, Bellikiss is a crit machine. If you hit it with an attack, it gets a free Critical Hit against you. This makes it have incredible attacking power, effectively boosting its damage output by 50%, but can be played around through passive damage. It is somewhat faulty of 4MSS, as it wants recovery, main attacking STABs in Thunderbolt & Dazzling Gleam, Volt Switch, potentially Draining Kiss and Parabolic Charge for passive recovery and then some coverage (Which mostly boils down to Flamethrower).

It adds some variey to the metagame's Fairies as we somehow only have one Special Fairy atm (Whimsy Sands). Its also the bulkiest Fairy we have yet and can very freely invest in bulk as its damage output will directly benefit from the more hits it takes, making it also function as somewhat of a wall.

Stop trying to organize hyperspecific defensive counterplay for Iron Dirge. It is a wall, it is not short on defensive counterplay. We just added a bulky Water type, Fire resists are already pretty common. Dirge does not need *answers*. Dirge's problem is that it is a bit too good at stopping our existing set up options, making them unviable or forcing weird sets. Making hyper specific set up sweepers designed to beat Dirge does not address that issue, it just makes the metagame much more matchup fishy to play in the future (I bring my anti Dirge sweeper, they don't bring Dirge, just a generic Water with Haze, I'm deadweight. I bring my weak to Dirge sweeper thinking people won't bring Dirge because of the prevalence of anti Dirge sweeper, I face Dirge, I'm deadweight etc). Dirge is *probably* getting a nerf anyway, so trying to hyperfocus on it, especially as a defensive mon is a fool's errand and will ultimately do more harm than good.

That being said, I can't really blame y'all too much, because I am now of the opinion that the council really jumped the gun in regards to opening slate 5 so quickly here. No one knows how Dirge even actually functions in battle, so all of the "counters" just focus on being immune to one or both STAB moves and call it a day. After such a game changing slate, we really should have taken some time and observe how the metagame functions before moving forward, especially considering we already have quite a few duds on arrival under our belt. The prompt for the slate being "build off the meta" when we are not 100% on what that meta IS. Is Roaring Sal still a problematic Pokémon that demands the Water Fairy subs that were everywhere last slate, or has the addition of a bulky Water with reliable recovery without a weakness to it's popular coverage, an Unaware PhysDef bulky Fire that ignores Proto boosts and can OHKO in return and a Rock Fairy with Disguise on steroids (the real best check added) somewhat changed how we need to approach Roaring Sal? I guess we'll never know. That can't be helped anymore, so all I can say is this - be less reactionary, be more reasonable in your submissions.

With rain however this becomes a lot different with it outspeeding a lot of things and hitting fairly hard.

More predictable than its evo, though it may carve out a niche as a physically defensive mon anyway. Probably not the most important thing but the Mon actually runs a pretty unique move in Iron Tail instead of Iron Head since it doesn’t have to worry about accuracy.
