To register to participate in a core challenge, you must reply to this forum with the proper information to be eligible! See the example post below for details. This also applies for submitting peaks (with that said please keep all of your information onto 1 post)! Otherwise, refer to the Index Thread for the official rules and info on this project. Please make sure to post replays of your Hall of Fame Rankings, failure to do so will result in your post being ignored.
In order to win this challenge, one player must obtain the highest ladder peak with the given core. In order to be eligible for winning the challenge you have to either post a replay of your peak (Highest elo reached) or take a screenshot of your accounts highest rank on ladder. The person with the highest rank at the end of the week is the winner of the challenge and will get posted in a new hall of fame in the Index thread along with the team they were using. If you win, please PM the team to Perishing Song or Namranan along with a brief description of the team and how you got the elo you got to. (Replays are much appreciated)
Remember to keep track of your Win/Loss ratio because the person with the best ratio out of 30 games can get a shoutout after the challenge has ended. To submit your Win/Loss ratio just take a screenshot of your record and post it in your registration. The team with the best record will be added to its own Hall of Fame.
Have Fun!

Volcanion - Volcanion is a niche pokemon to use on Fire because of its nifty water immunity and ability to take advantage of sun and its high special attack to act as an effective Azumarill check and Solar Beam user. This pokemon's movepool has quite a good amount of options in Earth power, Sludge Wave, Solar Beam, etc. While one may think that it should use its Water-STAB move in steam eruption more, it is unfortunately weakened by the sun that fire teams love to abuse, so it can find itself not using it sometimes, although it can still use it regardless. One may be curious as to why volcanion isn't used more on fire for these reasons, and unfrotunately it is because of its slow speed and ability to get worn down by Stealth Rocks relatively easily, not to mention that it gets forced out easily as well. Running volcanion also means not using volcarona or blacephelon, who are amazing special sweepers that can blast through balance teams better than volcanion can. Overall Volcanion is a niche pokemon to use on fire, but its niche is quite useful and can be very important to winning some key matches.
Rotom-Heat - Rotom-heat used to be used for primarily screens on fire teams. Thanks to USUM, it gained defog, which made it incredibly useful as both a hazard remover and a screen setter, while also being a decent pivot with volt switch. This pokemon has a lot of going for it and can immensely support its teammates thanks to screens and defog. It can also be run offensively or have an extremely niche trick set that allows it to cripple common checks like chansey. Overall, rotom-heat is always a great addition to have on a fire team, using it wisely can make fire seem hard to beat.

Infernape - Infernape is unfortunately generally outclassed by Cobalion as an offnensive lead, and by Keldeo and Terrakion as speed control. However this doesn't stop infernape from having a few nifty niches. As a lead, it can use endeavor + mach punch to weaken opposing leads or defensive pokemon, and use taunt to prevent them from setting rocks, taunting back, or recovering health. This niche set can be very effective against some more offensive teams, however this is not the only thing infernape can do. Infernape still has a great speed tier and a nice STAB combination along with a decent movepool. This allows it to sometimes get away with running a choice scarf set when Keldeo is using a Z-move or if Kommo-o is not being used. These niches allow infernape to still have a solid presence in the fighting metagame.
Breloom - Breloom has fallen off from its former glory in recent times, but it is still a nasty Pokemon that can potentially be a win condition thanks to Spore and its technician boosted STAB moves in Bullet Seed and Mach Punch. It can also opt to use a substitute and Toxic Orb set to take advantage of more passive walls like celesteela and Toxapex, and threaten them just as bad. This also allows you to have a status absorber akin to the likes of gliscor. Breloom in general is still a solid choice for fighting teams, despite it having less viability as time has gone on.
