Herro Smogonites, and welcome to the Official Smogon NFL Predictions thread! The game is simple - each week you will post your predictions for the winners of each matchup. In order to be counted, you must enter predictions for ALL games for that week. Also, you must post your predictions no later than one hour before the first game of that week begins. You don't have to predict every week if you don't want to, but only those who enter predictions for every week will be counted when determining the overall winner. Even if you skip a few weeks, I'll still keep your tally and provide you with your win % at the end of the season.
Each week I will edit this Intro Post to show the matchups. To predict that week, you must copy the list and repost it, highlighting each winner in bold. I expect each participant to keep track of their own wins and losses each week and then submit them to me when all games are complete. We're going on an honor system here, so just try to be fair. I will randomly be auditing people's predictions to make sure nobody is cheating.
There isn't really a need to "sign up" per se, just post your predictions and I'll assume you want to participate, subsequently adding you to the master list. I've also decided not to count everyone's results for the first two weeks, since some new people might want to play from here on out. Sorry to anyone that did particularly well the first two weeks (ie CaptKirby, myself, etc) that was maybe hoping to gain a quick leg up on the competition. Our competition will begin with Week 3 of the NFL season, for which I will post matchups soon. glhf!
THE RULES...
1. The competitors are now set. No more new people may join, sorry.
2. In order to remain in the competition, players must submit predictions EVERY WEEK. Failure to submit will result in all losses for that week (0-14, 0-13, 0-16, etc)
3. Failure to submit a prediction a second week will result in disqualification and removal from the challenge.
4. Players are not to post their results until ALL GAMES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. No more "I'm 9-5 so far".
5. Do not get into discussions and debates about other peoples' picks. That is to be relegated to the NFL Discussion Thread. Keep this thread predictions only.
