Welcome to the first iteration of the Neverused World Cup Tournament. This thread will contain all administrative decisions regarding this tournament such as mindblowing activity decisions and the draft order. RE: Format Clarification & SS Suspect

Regions have met the threshold for the tournament to have 8 starting slots. However, multiple teams do not meet a 12-player threshold for it to be possible for us to have 4 substitutes. The regions are: Brazil, Canada+ Midwest, Italy + Germany, US Northeast, and UK + Ireland + Portugal. If these teams do not meet the threshold before Friday night (ET), we will proceed with 8 starters + 2 substitutes.

The community has decided to include SS as a suspect slot in the tournament. Managers will be polled to determine our approach to this slot. Furthermore, we do encourage managers to communicate with their SS player to help come up with a decision.

Asia merged with RoW, Rest of Europe was formed (with Belgium), Manager Changes. We no longer have 12 teams in the tournament. Managers, join the Neverused Discord if you haven’t already.

Host Comments: We do appreciate everyone’s feedback and involvement in the tournament. Let’s try to handle things more professionally and we are/will continue to internally bring up issues that arise for the best performance possible.

RE: Number of Substitutes

Each team will need at least 8 starting players, 2 substitutes minimum and 4 substitutes maximum. This totals to 10-12 players. Managers, please post your final roster in this thread.

RE: SS Suspect Vote (Managers)

Managers voted on the approach to the SS Suspect slot over the past few hours. This poll resulted in Silvally-Ground, Rotom-C, and Vileplume being banned the entire duration of the tournament. If any player participating in this suspect slot brings any of the aforementioned Pokémon, the game will count as a loss for the player that violated this rule.

RE: Interdivisional Weekly Matches Vote (Managers)

Additionally, the managers voted on whether we should do interdivisional matchup. This means that instead of getting a Bye week, the team from Division A facing a Bye will just face a team from Division B who also facing a B. The managers decided to not incorporate interdivisional matchups in this tournament.

Hurtadoo missed the scheduled time and a substitute was not provided within 30 minutes of France's managers being pinged; therefore, emforbes is afforded the activity win.

It has been brought to our attention that plans had been made between the managers of Team US Midwest + Canada (Oathkeeper and Phantomistix) and a manager of Team US South (Danny) to both intentionally throw games and force dead games during Week 5 of NUWC to ensure that both teams would qualify for playoffs. The managers of Team US Midwest + Canada then relayed this plan to their team Discord. Thankfully, all players involved refused to be apart of this, thus we are confident that these plans did not go through and the tournament's integrity was unaffected. Despite this, this was a clear case of collusion with the intention of rigging the results of the tournament to benefit both parties involved, and it is not something that we will tolerate.

For the sake of both preserving the integrity of our circuit and ensuring that future tournaments are not hindered by unprofessionalism, myself and etern have decided to ban Danny, Oathkeeper, and Phantomistix from participating in any form of hosting or managerial roles within the NU circuit for 12 months. Togkey is not being punished, as there was no evidence they participated in these discussions.

e: for clarity, this means they can host/manage again starting September 24th, 2024.

2024 edit: We've received evidence of Togkey participating in these plans, thus she is also banned from hosting and managing till September 24th, 2024 as well.
