Fur Coat Yveltal is a resilient wall thanks to its great typing, good bulk, and ability to threaten wallbreakers like Ghost-type Simple + No Retreat users, Ultra Necrozma, and Mega Garchomp. Knock Off is a strong attack that can provide lots of utility; whereas Revelation Dance can be used to threaten Normalize users. Strength Sap is Yveltal's most reliable form of recovery, as well as softening physical attackers like Mega Lucario and Kyurem-B. Mortal Spin allows Yveltal to clear entry hazards and poison Imposter users, as well as walls like Arceus-Ground and Mega Audino. Will-O-Wisp and Nuzzle are alternatives to stifle threats like Greninja-A and Mega Garchomp. Heavy-Duty Boots removes Yveltal's unfavourable Stealth Rock weakness, while Ability Shield eases the matchup against Teravolt users like Koraidon, as well as Sunsteel Strike users like Mega Lucario. Covert Cloak is a final alternative to Improof Yveltal if it runs Mortal Spin or Nuzzle, while also preventing secondary effects from moves like Salt Cure.
