Rules
General Battle Rules:
- This is an ubers tournament, meaning pretty much nothing is banned (with the possible exception of Arceus, but that's up to the participants)
- Alternate forms will be allowed/banned by a vote of tournament participants
- Species clause
- No OHKO moves
- No evasion moves
- Battles will be played 6 vs. 6, auto-level 100 (unless both players agree to a free battle)
- NEW: Arceus has been banned, and alternate forms have been allowed, as a result of a vote among participants
- NEWER: Since weather is such an integral part of the Uber metagame, as is Pursuit, neither will be banned. If the glitch occurs, you may deal with it between yourselves as you see fit, but if you can't come to an agreement, the official ruling will be "play through it."
Tournament-Specific Rules:
- There will be 16 players; anyone who signs up after the limit has been reached will be a sub
- The tournament will be single-elimination
- After you and your opponent play, please either send me a PM or post in this topic to let me know who won, and the final score.
(The final score is important to break ties in the order in which prizes will be picked.)
- You may change your team as much as you'd like between rounds
- Do not reveal other players' teams.
(That means, if you upload a battle video to the GTS, please do not give out the video number until the person you played is out of the tournament
In order to encourage participation, I am going to require that every participant donate a pokemon as a prize. It should be something high-quality and not shitty, that someone else would actually like to have. Then, at the end of the tournament, I will rank each player from first place to last place, based on how many rounds they won and the score of each battle they played in. Obviously, the player who wins the finals will be first place, the player who lost will be second, and so on down the line. Once the tournament has completed, the first place player will have first pick of the prizes, the second place player will have second pick, and so on. Everyone will receive a prize; the better you do, the better the prize will be because you get to pick it. If you are DQed for cheating or inactivity, you forfeit your right to a prize.
Timeframe and Such:
- The tournament will begin one week from the point where I have 16 players
- Each round will begin one week after the previous round has finished
- If a match has not been completed by a round's deadline, I will try to determine a winner based on whichever player was more active
(If players both display similar (reasonable) levels of activity, I will do the best I can to extend the match into the next round. If neither player is active, I will DQ them both. If one player is caught intentionally avoiding their opponent, they will be disqualified)
I highly suggest using #smogonwifi to find your opponent
