... only to end up posting a video/article that sums up whatever belief or view they trying to support.

just why,

i'd rather force my self into reading the elections thread every time it gets updated than seeing one of those again.

I get way more complaints from people about posters who do nothing but post links and videos, even one suggestion that such a thing should be against the rules. I thinks that's a silly way to look at it too, but it's generally better that a person's post have some actual content and their own opinion. If they post a video too, whatever. I rarely click on those videos anyway, so who cares?

This is an awful firebotty sort of complaint.
