Pokemon Shuffle General Discussion

I went itemless on Darkrai up to the last five stages. Team was Shiny Mega Diancie, Buzzwole, Hitmonlee, Meloetta. None of them were perfect I think.

Hello, i got a big problem, everytime i try to interact with Mewtwo (the new max challenge) shuffle crashes. If i try to "teambuild" (only on Mewtwo), and even if i try to start the stage (i made the team on Wobbuffet but mewtwo is simply impossible).

Any suggestion? I'm from 3ds language english

Reddit is saying the game indeed crashes hard on Mewtwo. Only recommendation I have is wait until tomorrow when it hopefully gets patched. I'll be coin grinding in the meantimes since Level Max can be finished with 2 days worth of hearts give or take for the free NHN.

Seems like the game won't crash in German and Japanese, unfortunately my Shuffle 3DS is North American and only has English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.

Probably gonna pop my free NHN on coin grinding. the PSB animation takes too long for it to be worth using on Level MAX.

EDIT: The crash issue has been fixed. 3DS users will receive 10 Hearts, 4 EXP Booster Ms and 10 EXP Booster Ls as compensation.

Almost at 50 using a team of Guzzlord (level 8), Buzzwole (level 16), perfect Hoopa-U, and perfect Dusknoir. Should be able to get to 50 safely and if I really want to chase extra rewards I can probably get to 60 itemless.

Stage 70 looks like the only one that's troublesome to clear itemless, as 60 and 65 is handled by a tapper and/or Block Shot user with Shiny Genesect in the party. 70 is the only stage where the HP is high enough that that probably isn't enough, so I'll probably put that off to grind more on TC Koko.

What about Tapu Fini? Has anybody found a reliable strategy to beat it itemless? I tried various teams, but I never dealt more than 42k damage.

The problem with Fini is that Water has TERRIBLE Burst damage options compared to Koko, and the Tapus have stages that all but murder comboing unless you can keep them asleep or otherwise stunned. Koko has a potentially maxed Shot user for every type of hazard, plus a LDE user. Fini's Shot options are all weaker, if they exist at all, and the closest it has to a LDE is if you invested in one of the Superbolt Pikachus, which I wouldn't blame one for skipping given it's still less reliable than LDE.

Is the consensus that Koko is the one worth farming? What team reliably beats it itemless?
The farming team is typically some combination of Dugtrio, Groudon, Hippowdon, Flygon, and Mega beedrill depending on which in that pool is strongest/maxed out. I Farm without a Mega using those and it's relatively reliable, though I need to get the last couple levels for Hippowdon and Flygon to maximize it and kind of seal the deal.

Most rankings say Koko and Fini are similar in coverage offered, but Koko is much easier to farm with all the good Ground type Shot users.

Ah, Hippowdon... Might have to feed it some Cookies first. If only Eevee would be so kind as to give me more than just one per week.

The team I used for Koko is M-Beedrill (15, 12/12, SL3), Dugtrio (16, SL5), Flygon (17, SO SL5), Hippowdon (15, LDE SL5). You can replace Beedrill with Barrier Shot Groudon, but that wasn't an option for me, as my Groudon is very underlevelled. I strongly suggest to anybody who wants to farm Koko to get to SL5 at least Flygon and Hippowdon, as they'll be dealing most damage (after all, the presence of blocks/ice on the board is not guaranteed).

I don't get why they're so stingy with Skill Boosters, even in the Start-/Middle-of-the-Month challenges they give out a measly one SBL. I'm basically out and can't invest Flygon to SL5 :(

Still haven't finished the last batch of main stages (also haven't been playing as much) but here we go with a new batch.

Also, I have to ask: at what point does it become unnecessary (or just not worth the investment) to level up mons? 20? 25? 30? I'm also guessing there is a point where using Level Ups are much better than that once a week Victini/Magearna, up until now I've mainly been hoarding my Level Ups.

In my opinion, it's not worth going over Lv 20. Let's take a 70BP Pokemon: you need 24150 exp to raise it from 20 to 25 and give it a paltry 5AP increase. The same amount of exp can be invested to bring another 70BP Pokemon from 1 to 17, granting it a massive +46AP. Now, I don't see a single reason to give a slight boost to an already powerful Pokemon (125AP), when I can use the same resources to make a weak Pokemon viable. Even if one opts to level up mons with LUs (which I think everybody does after Lv 15, as at that point not even a crowned Victini is a guaranteed level up), I think that 5 RMLs and 5 LUs are better used on a Lv 15 Pokemon than on a Lv 20 one, as going from 15 to 20 still gives you a pretty substantial 15AP increase.
Of course, you are free to to go all the way to 30 if you so wish, especially if you are one of those end game veterans who have a perfect SM team and can effortlessly farm tons of exp boosters. As for me, I don't have limitless resources, so I always try to invest them as efficiently as possible.

Thanks, that helps a lot. Looks like I over-invested in some of my Pokemon, but the damage isn't too bad.

Also, it seems like the game is reaching its end, as events are being automated, so I no longer need to try to keep up with everything!
