The Singer Pokemon makes a potent threat in 1v1! Torch Song allows Skeledirge to deal good damage while also raising its Special Attack, which makes it more offensively potent as the game goes on. When combined with Blast Burn and its ability Blaze, it can OHKO the majority of the tier, beating threats that Torch Song on its own could not such as Baxcalibur. Unaware can also be used instead to consistently beat setup Pokemon like Cresselia. Encore allows Skeledirge to consistently beat opposing Encore users like Iron Valiant and Alolan Ninetales, as well as Pokemon attempting to set up to beat it such as Hisuian Goodra and Volcarona. Endure allows Skeledirge to tank hits that normally would KO it such as Hydro Pump from Choice Specs Iron Bundle and Earth Power from Ursaluna-B and, thanks to Custap Berry, allows Skeledirge to OHKO them back. The EVs allow Skeledirge to tank an Earthquake from Choice Band Baxcalibur and two Sludge Waves from Modest Choice Specs Iron Moth. Skeledirge struggles with bulkier Dragon-, Water-, and Ground-types that can tank its attacks such as Manaphy, Landorus-T, and Regidrago, so Pokemon that can take these threats on such as Sylveon and Ogerpon-W are good teammates.
