If you check these threads, you will see that 120+ Speed was one of the selling points of both the winning stat spreads!

Both of hem has a little bit more than 120 speed for a reason, and we voted for them based on that!

If you look closely, you will see that the actual main selling point was the Attack, as people wanted to have Megahorn boosted by Compoundeyes.

Did I ever say it was the main selling point? No. But it's interesting to note all of the spreads with less than 121 Speed were knocked out in thef irst round of voting. Coincidence? I think not.

We had 1300 battles on Saturday. At the high point, there were almost 70 users on at the same time. On Sunday, we had 1700 battles. When I was on last night, there were 40-50 users consistently for almost the entire time. Most people are not testing Syclant, which is OK. But Syclant is appearing in lots of battle logs that I read.

I'm in the middle of writing usage reports. Based on server traffic, we should have a nice base of battles to report from.

If you want to post raw logs, just wrap them in CODE tags. Then include any notable comments before and/or after the log. That way, the log won't take up so much room, but can be referenced if necessary.

so syclant took down much of his team, but was stoped. its not a ultra sweeper but it is powerful and IMO a bit too bulky for its speed and attacks, however it has problams switching in, it can only be used to its full potential with a sacrifice. base 555 with great stat placement + good movepool + decent ofencive typeing + brilliant abilitys is too much. i think the best/easyest thing to change would be stats. lower defences and 115-120 speed would alow it to be balenced. the realy good players i have spoken to agree its uber or extremely close. i dont want an uber.

All that log did was prove that Syclant only works best as a revenge killer, seeing how you could only bring him out after the death of a former pokemon.

He didn't really do much in terms of sweeping in that log. The only time I've ever completely annihilated a team with him 6-0 was after 3 NP passes.

i agree that the ant works best as revenge, I've edited that in.
but once its in it can do lots of damage. see how it 1KO'd zapdos and gengar? with a better random number for the 97% on gengar it would have KO'd without blizzard and meta would have lost to it.

also what kinda noob let you pass 3 NP's?

edit: odd.. only 1 peoson on right now, normaly its 10-30 at this time

The kind that don't expect it. I didn't get 3 off the bat. I got in 2 with Ambipom and switched to Togekiss to get off a final one and BPed to Syclant who finished the match.

Traffic on the server has slowed a bit during the week, but weekend traffic still gets pretty insane (1200-1300 battles a day). As expected, the initial interest in Syclant has waned considerably. I talk to users on the server and ask them why they connect and the answer is almost always one of the following:

1) I wanted to see the new pokemon
2) Official server is down
3) I'm banned from Official (we're the leper colony of Shoddy servers, lol)
4) I like the people on this server more than the others
5) The mods are cooler over here (good job, Blue Team)
6) These new pokes have made the metagame more interesting

The last one doesn't come up too often, but I'm surprised that people would notice a difference from just one pokemon. Amongst new users, they think Syclant is a Garchomp counter. I don't think so. But, perhaps the perception of a Garchomp counter is enough to shift the metagame slightly. I dunno. But, it's interesting feedback nonetheless.

I haven't made much new progress on the statistics reporting, but I hope to get into that more next week. I've got some other stuff cooking that I think everyone will be very excited about. But, I won't say any more about it until I get a little further.

I will be deploying the latest enhancements to the server that enable Bibarel's abilities - Simple and Unaware. If any of you followed Bologo's thread on Tauntarel, you know why Bibarel has suddenly gained a modicum of relevance in the metagame. If any of you have been waiting to play it on the CAP server, you'll get your chance tomorrow. I plan to upgrade the server tonight.

An interesting thing I've noted is the habit the server's name has of misleading people. A fair number of users have come on asking, "How do I create a Pokemon?"

Just thought I'd say that.

Eric, by revise, you mean remove Tail Glow? And that seems more like his only Ice resist died and wasn't really prepare for Syclant. Lucario, Heatran, Gyarados, Roserade, Swampert, and Jolteon won't really stop Special Syclant. The Tail Glow set you love (and used) either hits everone except Lucario and Heatran with Blizzard, and they die to Focus Blast/Brick Break.

... Gyarados should have Evs to outspeed Adamant Chomp after 1 Dragon Dance anyways. It could have outsped Syclant given the right Evs.

I've never really seen a Gyarados with the necessary Speed EVs (about 200+ or so if the nature's neutral) to outspeed Syclant after a Dragon Dance. *Shrug*
