It's been a fair amount of time since I last did a RMT and I've been enjoying this team a lot so I figured I'd share it. UU has gotten it a weird amount of complaints on the tier being stale or w/e but that's just it being balanced imho, though stall's prowess or even Latias are up for debate. As for this team, I wanted to go with Taunt + Toxic Spikes since with all the Stall being broken talk and I had no teams with Beedrill that I did not just flat out hate. I kinda suck at writing but hope y'all enjoy it anyway :] also s/o gum for helping my indecisive ass on picking a song lol.

Taunt Hydreigon is a nice set to mess with bulkier builds, though mons like blissey can stall it out regardless of taunt. Only other Taunt users that came to mind were Cobalion, Mega Houndoom or Jellicent and it has been awhile since I have built with a Hydreigon that was not just scarf or lure z.

Toxic Spikes are not the best in UU with all the leviating mons and fat poison-types like Amoonguss but regardless I still a fuck ton of teams with them, usually Nidoqueen (better than Nidoking in general imho) or Nihilego. Beedrill kinda sucked to me but thought it was worth a try.

Beedrill as speed control is just lol so I slapped on a neat Scarf Krook + Aero lure-- Scarf Starmie. Starmie could also serve as a spinner too if I really needed it by the end of building the team.

Scizor (obviously) make me pretty nervous and SD QA could be pretty deadly so far. Doublade walls these sets as well as the basic STABs only ones. Doublade fit the mandatory Steel-type slot too. Priority should I want to Trick Starmie's Scarf is handy too.

I'm not a huge Gligar fan, but it fit nicely here and could be either a reliable defog user or set up rocks and defer hazard removal to starmie. being another floaty mon with the extra plus of being an electric immunity is cool. gligar is also able to spam uturn with beedrill.

Infernape serves as another scizor answer that has some immediately firepower (ha). it could even run rocks for gligar. just generally a pretty versatile mon that gave me room to adapt the sets on the team to what I ended up facing.

Taunt Hydreigon is a intimidating set on paper to things like Suicune and Blissey but with 5 other mons the opposing team it can be underwhelming in terms of stalling others out. Hydreigon does still have a solid STAB combo though, and the Justified mons are not too bulky/do not appreciate Draco Meteors. Getting walled by the Fairy-types can suck but none of them are too threatening, especially after a Taunt preventing Recovery. Running a Z-Crystal can somewhat bluff an item like Choice Scarf too. Defensively, with Roost it can deal with non superpower Crawdaunt, Krookodile, and Rotom-H and C (bar the cursed Z Disarming Voice). If necessary it can deal with Suicune somewhat, though between random Ice Beam's and Pressure it can be risky. Traditionally, Taunt Hydreigon runs Dragonium Z but as Scizorphobic I'm obligated to run Darkinium Z. It really is nice to nuke Steel-types with thinking they can just eat a Draco and profit-- particularly offensive Scizor.

Beedrill sitting at a whopping B- on the VR does not seem too appealing at first, but this mon can set up Toxic Spikes, check Latias, and outspeeds slower choice scarf users like Togekiss. U-turn is rather strong coming off of Beedrill's high attack and Adaptibility and can set up some free Toxic Spikes during those turns instead. Drill Run lets Beedrill hit the Steel-types that aren't phased by the Toxic Spikes/STABs. Knock Off is neat for getting of leftovers and potentially making the Toxic Spikes more punishing but overall is just inferior to coverage imho. Taunt from Hydreigon is enough.

Scarf Starmie is a solid lure and can even get rid of its choice scarf in a pinch to cripple the bulky waters that would want to abuse it. Dazzling Gleam lets Starmie nab an OHKO on opposing Scarf Hydregon and is a very satisfying turn one. Though, it takes up what would be Ice Beam and can make revenging Mega Altaria a tad more annoying. Hydro Pump is a necessity to hit fat Steel-types as hard as possible and slaps Krookodile and Aerodactyl thinking they can pursuit trap/revenge. Thunderbolt lets Starmie hit opposing bulky waters after crippling them/another mon with trick or just revenge opposing Starmie.

Doublade is a solid mon right now imo and it really glues this squad together. This set may look strange but it comes in handy more often than not. Iron Head is good for solid damage against the likes of Amoonguss and slower mons in general. The extra PP (vs Gyro Ball) can come in clutch in some longer games too. Pursuit is the weirder one but it has been a well-used slot, trapping Latias, chipping Blissey, and annoying Aerodactyl. Pursuit can also fuck with Regenator goons Slowbro and Amoonguss too, trying to get back some health before going into another Doublade answer.

Gligar is a :sewage: mon Gligar seems to get hate now as Manectric are back to mostly running Hidden Power Ice, and Rhyperior and Hippowdon have stolen the spotlight as an electric-immunity. Unlike those other fat grounds, Gligar can clear hazards. Toxic Spikes can pressure the enemy to remove with Defog and is not the best plan when Beedrill itself is weak to Stealth Rock. This Gligar set is not anything too out of the ordinary, but it is extra slow to underspeed bulky scizor with its U-turn. Some ramifications come from it, primarily bulky waters that creep bulky scizor to get off their scalds now hit Gligar before it can U-turn out. In practice it is not that annoying though. Running U-turn on Gligar forms a neat core with Beedrill pivoting around too. Gligar helps Doublade with Terrakion as well.

Infernape has so many options and I played around with different variations quite a bit. Ultimately this unorthodox mixed SR Ape fit the bill. The STAB combination can be annoying and gets even more of a nuisance when Gunk Shot is revealed. With Gunk Shot Ape is able to punish greedy Mega Altaria, which is way more useful than Grass Knot hitting mons like Hippowdown would be. With Ape running Stealth Rock, Tentacruel can be annoying as it beats the Rocker and can absorb Beedrill's Toxic Spikes but it is pretty easy to chip down with LO Close Combat or Overheat.

Threatlist
193221

:primarina::starmie: | Hydreigon and Starmie are the water resists and neither of them can ohko Primarina, but Infernape can somewhat lure bulkier version to hit with Gunk Shot and Beedrill always threatens it. Doublade does not appreciate eating Specs Moonblasts either. Starmie getting off a Trick cripples Defensive variants enough and pesters offensive ones. By similar logic, opposing Starmie can get annoying but the "speed tie" is always won and nothing lets in for free really, since Starmie is not that bulky. Defensive Starmie variants are not a problem for Hydreigon.

:moltres::pidgeot-mega: | The offensive Flying-types can be rather annoying since they can hit the sole Flying-resist (Doublade) and Gligar does not have Toxic to annoy them with. Hydreigon can nuke them and the birds generally can't get in for free though. Pidgeot is definitely the more annoying of the two betwen its immunity to Shadow Sneak and ability to just U-turn out before Hydreigon hits it. Pidgeot's speed leaves it "vulnerable" to getting lured by Starmie at least.

:altaria-mega: (
193283
) | Mega Altaria is not the worst thing ever, but Fire coverage on it can be annoying for Doublade as the designated Steel-type but Beedrill and Starmie can revenge anyway, if Infernape does not outright lure with Gunk Shot first. Definitely something to watch out for though when Altaria runs Dragon Dance with Fire Blast. Doublade's natural bulk makes Earthquake less intimidating.
