Sivanandi watched the two challengers approach from his place as the referee. He was new to doing this, but he was sure to do his best. He watched the Pokemon brought by the challengers with great interest. Most of them were Pokemon from the Galar region, with only one of the Pokemon among both teams being from outside of the region: the Munchlax. He was looking forward to seeing this battle: He was interested in the capabilities of these Galarian Pokemon, and a practical demonstration was the best way to see for himself.

Sobble and Cufant start off the match trading relatively even blows, with both of them ending somewhat even in the damage race. Sobble alternately launches itself and a large orb of water at the Cufant, while the steely pachyderm retaliates by using its own physical prowess to stomp and roughhouse the much smaller Sobble. They seem to be even on damage so far, but Cufant is using more energy than Sobble, who is using moves that are in his element. Will this be Cufant's downfall? Or will Cufant bypass this and the Sobble's speed advantage to prevail?

The second round begins with Grookey lowering Munchlax's defenses before striking at it with some of its moves, Razor Leaf and Slam. The Grookey gets in some solid damage while not using too much energy, staying efficient. However, it appears that energy was the least of its worries. The Munchlax first spewed a bunch of trash at the Grookey, poisoning it, and then jumped on her bodily before finally diving at the Grookey with a harsh light enveloping it, striking the poor Grookey and beating it up. At the end of the round, the Munchlax looks ready to continue for a few more rounds, while the poor Grookey is already on her last legs. Can Dogfish44 turn around the match?

Grookey manages to use the power granted to it by its desperation to land a solid hit on Munchlax, sending it stumbling backwards from the force of the attack. However, Munchlax is bulky enough to take the hit, and retaliates with a powerful blast of light that finishes off Grookey when combined with the lingering effects of the poison. But Munchlax is feeling sluggish after such a powerful move. Can Dogfish44 capitalize on this opening, small as it may be?

Reflecting, Torrent should've boosted the A3 Liquidation. Unfortunately, same can't be said for the A2 one, but that's a 2 HP Munchy, not a 4 HP one. Such HP difference, much wow.

Fixed: though, since Torrent boosts by 3 BAP, that's actually a 1 HP Munchlax now.

This round shows Scorbunny wearing down the already weakened Cufant until it's barely standing, using the attacks that it launches as opportunities to boost its own speed as well, until it's sprinting around the arena at ridiculous speeds. However, the Cufant isn't going down without doing some serious damage, kicking Scorbunny hard right in the face.
