Garchomp @ Garchompite
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast

Mixed Garchomp is a great wallbreaker, luring many of its traditional checks in Ferrothorn, Celesteela, and Mega Latias with Fire Blast and Draco Meteor. Come up with ways to stop this threat! ~
Submissions will last for 5 days :]

tapu fini

Ultra-Pokemon-Sun-and-Moon-PGL-Shiny-Tapu.jpg
Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Def / 12 SpA / 40 SpD / 192 Spe
Calm Nature
- Defog
- Moonblast
- Scald
- Taunt

Tapu Fini is a check to Mixed Mega Garchomp as it can switch into Draco meteor easily as its Fairy-typing allows it an Immunity, furthermore Fire Blast won't do too much as well.
Tapu fini can also come into an Erathquake as it can eitehr threaten Mega-Garchomp with a Scald burn on the next turn or ehavily damage it woth Moonblast.
It can also Taunt Mega-Garchomp so it cannot set Stealth-Rocks on your team.
It also has access to Defog, so it is able to remove hazards from the field. Tapu Fini gives Mega-Garchomp a troublesome time as it cannot spam Draco Meteor everytime it comes
onto the battlefield and Tapu Finis presence and natural bulk is disliked by Mega-Garchomp.

Calcs:
252+ SpA Garchomp-Mega Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 40+ SpD Tapu Fini: 44-52 (12.8 - 15.1%) -- possibly the worst move ever
4 Atk Garchomp-Mega Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 16 Def Tapu Fini: 151-178 (44 - 51.8%) -- 71.9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

12 SpA Tapu Fini Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp-Mega: 206-246 (57.7 - 68.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
12 SpA Tapu Fini Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp-Mega: 88-105 (24.6 - 29.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 52 Def / 76 SpD / 136 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Earthquake
- Facade

Gliscor is not OHKOed by Draco Meteor even after Stealth Rock damage and can avoid getting 2HKOed by Earthquake afterwards. This does, however, require Gliscor to be at full health and for its Toxic Orb to have been activated prior to this, meaning that it's a check.

Reserving Clefable

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled
- Wish / Ice Beam
Umm so Clefable, as a Fairy type, does well as dealing with Mega Garchomp’s mixed set. It can switch in and not be 2HKOed by Earthquake and Fire Blast, even if both had 252 EVs in the respective attacking stats they come off of. You do have to be extremely careful about Swords Dance, but that set can easily be revenge killer and pressured by fast revenge killers, so you can relax. Hazards like Garchomp’s Stealth Rocks can’t chip away at Clefable, while it can set up Stealth Rocks on its own, pass Wish, or just attack with Moonblast.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Wish / Confide / Heal Bell
- Soft-Boiled

Once Garchomp reveals itself to run a Mixed Mega set, Chansey can come in on any Mega Garchomp's moves and just sit in front of it, being a nice counter to Mega Garchomp.

Latias @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Stored Power / Psyshock
- Ice Beam

Mega Latias is a check to Mega Garchomp. Its typing and ability allow it to switch in on all of Garchomp's moves except Draco Meteor, which has a chance to 1HKO if the damage rolls are in Garchomp's favor and it hasn't received the Sp. Atk drop yet. Once it's in, Latias can either use Calm Mind, which, thanks to the Sp. Def boost, also reduces the damage from Draco Meteor, or 1HKO with Ice Beam.

Offensive:
0 SpA Latias-Mega Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp-Mega: 360-428 (100.8 - 119.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 SpA Latias-Mega Stored Power (20 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp-Mega: 31-37 (8.6 - 10.3%) -- possibly the worst move ever
+1 0 SpA Latias-Mega Stored Power (60 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp-Mega: 135-160 (37.8 - 44.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
0 SpA Latias-Mega Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Garchomp-Mega: 114-135 (31.9 - 37.8%) -- 91.9% chance to 3HKO
+1 0 SpA Latias-Mega Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Garchomp-Mega: 171-202 (47.8 - 56.5%) -- 88.3% chance to 2HKO

Defensive:
252+ SpA Garchomp-Mega Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Latias-Mega: 308-366 (84.6 - 100.5%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
-2 252+ SpA Garchomp-Mega Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Latias-Mega: 156-186 (42.8 - 51%) -- 3.1% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Garchomp-Mega Draco Meteor vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Latias-Mega: 206-246 (56.5 - 67.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
-2 252+ SpA Garchomp-Mega Draco Meteor vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Latias-Mega: 104-126 (28.5 - 34.6%) -- 3.5% chance to 3HKO
252+ SpA Garchomp-Mega Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Latias-Mega: 44-52 (12 - 14.2%) -- possible 7HKO
252+ SpA Garchomp-Mega Fire Blast vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Latias-Mega: 29-35 (7.9 - 9.6%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Weavile @ Choice Band
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

Both Icicle Crash and Ice Shard KO M-Garchomp from full.

Protean Greninja

Greninja @ Waterium Z
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Hydro Pump
- Spikes

Protean Greninja serves as a solid check to Mega Garchomp. Protean Ice Beam easily OHKOes Mega Garchomp, even without the need for a boosting item like Life Orb or Expert Belt. It can also just force it out to set up Spikes.

Just as importantly, though, this set handles a lot of Mega Garchomp's common teammates. Ice Beam does solid damage to Tornadus-T, Tangrowth, and OHKOes Z-move Landorus-T. Hidden Power Fire severely chunks a common hazard-stacking partner to Mega Garchomp in Ferrothorn, OHKOes Kartana, and 2HKOes offensive Magearna. Lastly, Waterium Z Hydro Pump kills Heatran and Banded Tyranitar after Stealth Rock, and does solid chip damage to Assault Vest Tyranitar, as well.

Submitting Mew as a counter to Mega Garchomp:

Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 80 HP / 236 SpD / 192 Spe
Careful Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Soft-Boiled
- Defog
- Earthquake

This is a slightly altered EV spread for stall Mew, which is used primarily to check Heatran and Tapu Lele. It normally has 244 SpD and 184 Spe, but 192 Spe allows it to outspeed Mega Garchomp; 8 EVs is a small price to pay. Earthquake fails to do any net damage after leftovers recovery, so you can slowly heal up if they EQ as you switch in. If they drop a Draco on the switch, you can burn them the next turn before they can EQ. Draco also fails to 2HKO by a long shot, thanks to the Spa drop. Earthquake is used over ice beam in order to check Heatran. It still chips away at Garchomp, as does burn, and Garchomp has no means of recovery outside of wish and healing wish support. Defog allows Mew to remove Heatran's and Garchomp's rocks. Mew is a counter because it is not 2HKOed by Draco, often avoids the 2HKO from EQ, and can outspeed to burn or recover anyway.

Tapu Koko @ Leftovers / Electrium Z
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- U-turn
- Toxic
- Roost

Toxic Tapu Koko is a rather new set, which aims to beat traditional Grass- and Ground-type checks like Tangrowth, Tapu Bulu, and Gastrodon. It can also threaten common Pokemon that are immune to Toxic, like Toxapex and Celesteela, with Thunderbolt.
Can you think of ways to stop Toxic Tapu Koko? Submissions end on Friday (26/7)!

Nidoking @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Ice Beam
- Substitute/Flamethrower

Nidoking has a niche in OU as an extremely powerful wallbreaker and its typing severely threatens this particular Tapu Koko variant, forcing it to click U-turn at all times for extremely minimal damage. If Nidoking comes in cleanly it sets up a Substitute on Toxic Koko no matter what and proceeds to tear some holes in the opponent's team, making it a relatively safe counter although it can still get U-turned on.

AV Amoonguss

Amoonguss @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Stomping Tantrum
- Hidden Power Fire

This Amoonguss set is a solid counter as it doesnt care whatever koko throw at it, and can threat it out with its STAB Sludge Bomb.
As this set lacks utility moves, even Taunt from koko isnt helpful here, meaning it has the advantage over MegaSaur or Ferrothorn as them relies on Synthesis/Leech Seed to stay healthy, and Ferrothorn cant set up spikes. Amoonguss Just switch out, preserving the momentum for its team.
