Virizion (QC:0/2)

[Overview]

*Good Attack, Speed, and Special Attack make it a varied sweeper.
*Good movepool with just enough to make it viable.
*Amazing resistances make it bulky enough to sac some hits.
*Kind of not as useful in comparison to Terrakion who has better attacking prowess.
*Good Attack with 156 and Speed with 176.
*Highest Special Defense of Grass and Fighting-types.

[SET]

name: Physical
Move 1: Leaf Blade
Move 2: X-Scissor / Stone Edge
Move 3: Sacred Sword / Close Combat
Move 4: Protect / Helping Hand
item:Grass Gem / Fight Gem
ability: Justified
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

*Leaf Blade for STAB and high power with no shaky accuracy.
*Sacred Sword if you want don’t want that awful Defenses drop.
*X-Scissor is for those pesky Psychic-types, mainly Latios.
*Protect is for scouting Heat Wave, Surf, or Earthquake.
*Close Combat can be used for more power.
*Helping Hand is a good move to have and, can be used to support pokemons like Terrakion.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

*The evs are standard for Attack and Sped with 4 HP to bulk it up a bit.
*With Jolly it gets 176 Speed allowing it to outspeed base 100 pokemons managing to outspeed Zapdos and hit it with Stone Edge.
*Leftovers for that extra recovery that can save your life.
*You can use Stone Edge to hit Zapdos which otherwise would wall you, but if you do you lose against Latios.

[SET]

name: Special
Move 1: Giga Drain
Move 2: Focus Blast
Move 3: Hidden Power Rock / Hidden Power Ice
Move 4: Protect
item: Occa Berry / Coba Berry / Sitrus Berry
ability: Justified
nature: Timid / Modest
evs: 4 HP / 252 Spa / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

*Special set using the amazing special movepool of Virizion
*Giga Drain is amazing as it gets recovery, and STAB with that high Spe.Atk can really dent some pokemons.
*Focus Blast is obligatory as it hits some threats Giga Drain can’t hit efficiently, namely, Hydreigon, and Scrafty
*You can choose any Hidden Power you want depending what do you want to hit.
*Hidden Power Rock is to hit Flying-types that would otherwise OHKO you with Brave Bird and whatnot.
*Protect is obvious for scouting purposes.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

*The evs are standard as it outspeeds base 100 pokemons and hits hard, while bulking some hits.
*You can choose various items one of them being Occa Berry for Chandelure, Hydreigon’s Fire Blast.
*Coba Berry helps it resist that awful x4 flying weakness.
*Sitrus Berry is mainly for recovering purposes.
*Timid is for that extra speed you need to outspeed Chandelure and Scarf users, but you can use Modest if you are running Tailwind support.

[Other Options]

*Reflect and Light screen with Light Clay is a good combination as it can setup screens pretty easily.
*Calm Mind can be used with 3 attacking moves, but setup isn’t too good in doubles.
*Life Orb can be used for that extra power.
*Occa, Yache, and Sitrus berry can be used to maximize health and make Virizion bulk some hits.
*Absorb Bulb can be used in a good strategy a partner using Surf, and then being at +1 and proceeding to sweep.
*You can use Quick Guard to protect your teammates while they setup, but Virizion speed ties with Infernape and does not outspeed faster Fake Out users such as Weavile.

[Checks and Counters]

*Zapdos is a big threat to Virizion if you are not packing the right moves.
*Flying-types in general can wall Virizion if you are not packing a Coba berry.
* Latias and Latios can bulk a X-scissor and retaliate with HP Fire.

[Dream World]

Virizion does not have a Dream World ability.

NO love for helping hand? maybe slash it for in the second or third slot? Also, protect always needs to be on the forth slot.

Maybe add a Calm mind set as well and a mixed work up set :D
Set up moves are not nearly as effective in doubles as they are in singles.

Maybe mention moves such as Quick Guard, Quick Attack and Special Attacks (Giga Drain etc.). Helping Hand definitely deserves a slash or mention.

helping hand definitely deserves a mention as well as a special side to virizion with giga drain..

I don't see a point in leftovers because your virizion set is pretty much just dishing hits in which case a fighting or grass gem is more useful

protect is always last in moveslot order

your comments are pretty lacking even though it is just a skeleton. I recommend playtesting some more.

name: Special
Move 1: Giga Drain
Move 2: Focus Blast
Move 3: Hidden Power Rock / Hidden Power Ice
Move 4: Protect
item: Grass Gem / Fight Gem / Rock Gem
ability: Justified
nature: Timid / Modest
evs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe / 4 HP

IIRC, this was the special set from last VGC. Not sure on item though.

special absorb bulb? yeah, I know it's not too good, but it's a cool little gimmick. I figure all that virizion will do is wall water-type moves; why not let it do so while boosting its own SpA?

take leftovers out of the first set and replace it with Grass Gem / Fight Gem

Make sure you actually add Helping Hand into the first set, not just the comments

Quick Guard in other options

The EVs should be written like this:
1st set: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
2nd set: 4 HP / 252 Spa / 252 Spe

some of the moves are out of order

name: Physical Attacker
move 1: Leaf Blade
move 2: Sacred Sword / Close Combat
move 3: X-Scissor / Light Screen
move 4: Protect
item: Grass Gem / Fighting Gem
ability: Justified
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

notice typing and spacing changes. remove mention of light clay in oo, add safeguard to oo.

name: Special Attacker
move 1: Giga Drain
move 2: Focus Blast
move 3: Hidden Power Ice
move 4: Protect
item: Sitrus Berry / Life Orb
ability: Justified
nature: Timid / Modest
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

notice typing and spacing changes. hp rock is no longer necessary in vgc 12. hp ice hits dragons and flying types without sacrificing a speed iv. please mention a bulkier set with more supporting moves in oo. note that virizion has to win a speed tie with quick guard to block infernape's fake out.

should the bulky set be god in conjunction with the screens and light clay?

VGC QC has talked it over and decided you are not capable of finishing these analysis up to par. Your reservations are stripped, sorry.
