Hi all!
I recently made a team revolving around Water, Ground and Electric. Water counters Ground which counters Electric which counters Water... basically like Water Grass Fire. The only type that can counter this team is Grass, which is virtually nonexistent here in Ubers.
So here’s the team!
The core
Zekrom @ Leftovers
Ability: Teravolt
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Bolt Strike
- Dragon Tail
- Toxic
- Roost
As the Electric-type member of this core, I find it rather sad that Electric is so under-represented in Ubers (Grass is worse though...), so I have to make do with this. I find Zekrom a very good late-game sweeper where Groudon has been dealt with (another reason why my Zygarde is there). Bolt Strike is for its STAB attack. Dragon Tail, used in conjunction with Skarmory’s spikes, keeps foes sustaining damage. It’s also a form of Dragon-type damage. Toxic is to keep foes statused, and Roost to heal HP. It is rather sad that Zekrom is so bad... come on Pokemon, give as a better Electric-type legendary!
Arceus-Water @ Splash Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 HP / 64 Def / 192 Spe
Timid Nature
- Judgment
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Toxic
A while ago, I was given the impression that Arceus-Water was the best Water-type in the game (if you disagree, tell me why, and I’ll see if I can’t prove that Arceus is the better!). And as a Water-type attacker and supporter, it’s easy to see why. Judgement provides a form of Water-type attack, Ice Beam for dealing with Dragons and Tangrowth. Recover is for healing itself, and Toxic for another status member (yeah, status is important for this team).
Groudon @ Red Orb
Ability: Drought
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 100 SpD / 156 Spe
Mild Nature
- Rock Polish
- Precipice Blades
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
The Ground-type member of this core, there is no denying that Groudon is the most powerful and dangerous of Uber Pokemon! After a Speed boost from Rock Polish, it should definitely go first. Precipice Blades can effectively OHKO anything that it hits, while Fire Blast is for a Fire-type move. Lastly, Hidden Power Ice can 2HKO other Groudon, along with anything that’s weak to it.
The helpers
Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Spikes
- Toxic
Skarmory is paired with Zekrom to spread status. Used as a suicide lead, it sets up Spikes and Toxic to set foes on a timer. Spikes is particularly lethal when used with Zekrom’s Dragon Tail. If it survives long enough to get three layers of spikes, it uses Whirlwind to keep dealing damage to foes. Roost is rather useless on a suicide lead, but if it wants to survive longer, Roost is still usable.
Magearna @ Leftovers
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Heart Swap
- Fleur Cannon
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
Magearna is here to help Arceus-Water, checking powerful attackers like Xerneas and Yveltal. Heart Swap is especially useful for opponents that keep on raising stats — Heart Swap makes Magearna extremely deadly! Pain Split is useful when Magearna is low on health, lowering the opponent’s health while in creasing it’s own. Fleur Cannon is its Fairy-type STAB (very effective after Heart Swap) and Volt Switch is useful for switching out while dealing damage.
Zygarde-Complete @ Leftovers
Ability: Power Construct
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 228 Atk / 48 SpD / 232 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Thousand Arrows
- Substitute
- Dragon Tail
Zygarde-Complete is here for the answer to the best Groudon counter — Ho-Oh. With Thousand Arrows, it can make dealing with Ho-Oh much easier. A boost from Dragon Dance, and all its attacks become extremely powerful. Dragon Tail provides that same thing that Zekrom’s Dragon Tail does. Substitute makes Dragon Dancing far easier, and makes Zygarde very hard to destroy.
That’s it, thanks for reading, and give useful comments!
