Wavern

Wave + Wyvern

Pronounced: way-vurn

Yokaiju has mentioned the wave was vaguely draconic. In this respect, I've interpreted the front flippers as two modified wings like a wyvern!

Final Submission

Kanagawvern

The Great Wave of Kanagawa (the famous Japanese painting of the big wave) + Maw (because it looks like it has a big mouth) + Wyvern (because the description mentioned it had dragon elements)

Pronounced: KAH-nuh-GAH-vurn

Final Submission

Tsukinami

A combination of "Tsuki", the japanese word for Moon, and Tsunami, while also taking from "Kanagawa-oki Nami Ura", or "The Great Wave off Kanagawa".

Pronounced: SOO-kee-NAW-mee
IPA: su ki nɑ mi

Thank you to Jewvia for the additional detail about the name having similarities to the japanese name of the painting! Good luck to everyone in voting!

Lagoonize

Pronounced: "LAG-un-ize”

Lagoon + Agonize. Felt like a menacing name for a big mean body of water-looking dude. Not super tied to the inspiration, but I feel like it’s got that Collosoil-style impact to it.

Final Submission

Idolwave

Idol (something worshipped as a deity) + Wave (it's a wave and the community at large has been calling it "wave") + "Tidal wave"

Pronounced: "EYE-dul-Wave”
IPA: ˈa͡ɪdə͡lwˌe͡ɪv
