Sub Review. Part 1.
(Reminder, I am not a council member, just a guy who is pretty familiar with both the process and usually the metagame, so don't take this as the affirmative to act. Get second opinions!)
I disliked that it's part Normal. Imo just adds an unnecessary Fighting type weakness for little gain, as Ghosts are not yet an overarching presense in the tier. Ofc you run into multiple issues if you go Psychic/Electric, well.
It's an ok defensive Water, with a very solid defensive ability. I wish it could realistically hold Leftovers to maximize the benefits of Downpour but we move.
I think this is pretty solid. Should be a very solid counter to the likes of Sol Valiant, which is a very powerful Pokémon rn. It has a weird matchup with Roaring Sal because not alot of people realize Roaring Sal is immune to Intimidate, so of it runs EQ it's a wrap. Outside of that, it's a great Pokemon.
Just a generic big Bulky Water. Sets itself apart from the other Water type sub so far by leaning specifically towards it's Special Defense as opposed to it's defense. It's a solid looking Pokémon.
I believe this Pokémon is a bit too frail for it's own good. The defensive typing is really good but the stats betray it. Outside of that, very powerful wallbreaker thanks to 115 Atk Hustle. Hates that missing would impact it the way it would but when it hits, it HITS.
It's aiite? Personally not very interesting to me, but this is not a bad sub.
It's really strong ability wise, not sure if that ability will be balanced tbh, though it's kinda weaker Stakeout.
Fast and strong special Wallbreaker, this Pokémon would be crazy under Rain. Pretty hard to swap into right now since our Bulky Water is weak to flying and has low SpD.
Crazy good specially bulky Water, it eats hits from almost any SpA mom we have so far. The ability is kinda weird tbh but do what you gotta do tbh.
This is essentially just Silvally. Silvally is a PU or ZU Pokémon, very rarely touching RU. This meta is roughly OU or very high level UU in power level. I don't think I need to point out the rest of what I am getting to here.
An extremely powerful physical Wallbreaker. Not sure if it's broke but damn SD sets have zero switchins rn.
Pretty solid pivot and Roaring Sal check. Tbh it's alot weaker [han I expected it. The Mega is decently strong.
Probably the best of the Water Flying subs made so far, having access to Defog, Spikes, Knock Off and Stealth Rock to always be great on teams. Apparently Scald is free so that's always nice.
Not very interesting to me in my opinion
It's fine, Flare Blitz + Head Charge is strong. Tbh I do think this Pokémon undermines the most notable aspects of Ho-Oh (being a good defensive pivot and spamming Sacred Fire), so it kinda lessens my desire for it.
Not a fan of this. Even outside of my bias against Webs I think this just a pretty cheap snowball tactic. It's also completely bricked by Ghost types due to how passive it is. Outside of the gimmick it's worse Shuckle.
This thing isn't particularly bulky enough to pull off the defensive roles that one wants it to imo. Why is Weather Ball a listed option?
This should get an HP or Speed boost. Right now it's too frail and slow to be consistent. This also is NOT a 0hysical Attacker so the listing of 0hyaical options are just unnecessary and distracting to the goal at hand.
It's pretty eh tbh. It feels like a slap together type of thing, might be good in practice but imo it's very unappealing on paper. Pex losing most of it's utility is probably a major cause of that, and Sigilyph offers little outside of MG itself.
I suggest making this Pokémon have fully odd stats. Gives you technically better stats and makes people like it more since it's a Past Paradox fusion and all Past Paradoxes have odd stats, Pet Mod voters are weird like that. Outside of that, it's a solid bulky SR user, but this thing is not running Clangorous Soul nor Boomburst. Calm Mind is most likely the sole set up move that's viable here, and tbh that is a stretch. I'd retool the description to highlight it's positive matchup into Roaring Moon and Rotoghold and it's role as a fat Stealth Rock setters.
Strong Jaw is near useless here, Crunch and Psychic Fangs hit nothing your dual STAB doesn't for significant damage. Also, I generally suggest against making dedicated Weather abusers when the weather itself is not present in the metagame. Kinda pointless sub that forces a setter.
It's solid enough as a Weather setter though I know it wishes it had Recovery as an option. Meh outside of the weather setting. Has a decent Mega but only because Megas are scanty rn. Otherwise it's quickly powercrept (it's weaker than base TTar)
It's fine. Mon is kinda funny because I do not think as a Dark resist it does much to address the top Dark types in the tier, especially Sol. Shared my thoughts on the prevo - redundant and forced.
Probably my most liked sub from you this slate, even if it's the worst. It's kinda funny though that this Pokémon while it has solid defensive typing, has rather mediocre bulk all around (90/80/92 with zero recovery and hazard resistance ain't good for a defensive pivot).
I don't see the need for Magic Bounce in our metagame rn, particularly one with excellent bulk typing and reliable recovery backing it. The hazard game is pretty great as is, solid spikers but arguably even better hazard control running around. Just possibly an all around overturned Poke. Also doesn't get Moonblast which is unforgivable imo.
Everyone and they momma has been tryna get this thing in, I'll just say that it's a solid bulky water, nothing crazy. My respect fot it does grow for t as the least passive Toxapex fusion we have.
Crazy strong wallbreaker. Head Smash, Wave Crash and Flare Blitz be hitting licks fr. In more detail, this is a stunning example of a wallbreaker at work. To that end, I think taking that 5 points in speed and putting it in bulk should make it alot easier to find offensive counterplay since two threats we currently have can guarantee to revenge kill. Also helps promote more Scarfers which we lack (95 is a good scarf tier regardless).
Idk I do not think this is a good Pokémon. I think offense has enough solid Fimp switchins regardless of CC access rn lol. Mon is just weak and REALLY frail in general.
Slow ice types suck
Imo at least, this thing barely justifies itself as a mon outside of "Shark". Its a solid enough sweeper but Id vote for more interesting ones than this. It doesn't help that both Megas are pretty meh due to having deadend abilities.
I don't understand how this ability works differently from actual Tinted Lens but better Lokix is a pretty easy sell for me. Look out world this thing finna HURT.
Up! Up! Up!
Mid. Feels like "Solrock with Drought lul" more than an interesting way to either set or self utilize Sun.
I wish it didn't overlap so fiercely with Decipherior, as I think it's an interesting concept. I also wish it did not be so easy to be broken imo because oh boy is this thing nuts! I'd feel more at ease if Ghost / Rock was the typing of choice instead of the likes of Ghost / Ground, less direct competition with Deci and less likely chance tmof being dummy stupid to face.
I think you should use a different ability other than Sheer Force, it will probably only hurt you once a Trace user is added since you can't use SF part for shit.
This is madness. Iron Bundle at home but if that Iron Bundle was Kevin from Home Alone. Bruh has zero switchins and that free Scarf EVERYTIME it clicks Hyper Voice? Bruh.
now this is a respectful Electric Ice type. Both Megas are pretty strong and I am unsure of their legality but I think this has potential to be good. I wish you could buff this a little more though stats are a little shoddy. And I think you benefit from a real ability than Static for a mon like this.
I think this Pokemon is so facking annoying that any issues you think you have with passivity can be easily ignored. A supreme physical wall if I've ever seen one. Not even sure if the Mega is that great (no Moonblast!!!) In comparision.
You should either bolster it's bulk so it can readily compete with the other defensive Fairy Water types of bolster it's speed or damage output so it can be a formidable offensive threat. Rn it sitting a mid crossroads.
Unless it gets something crazy in Gen 9 later on I do not think this thing is giving up Blizzard + Freeze Dry greatness. And that's ok, a strong pure Ice type is really cool imo.
A really fantastic idea mainly because it gives us two distinct but viable Mega Pokémon. Realistically I am doubtful on the viability of it's base form but these are standouts due to the Charizard factor they bring matchup wise, even if it's to a much lesser extent than what Charizard does.
Pretty solid defensive Pokémon in and of itself, and more importantly a key addition if players are looking to start establishing this Generation's iteration of stall to the tier. Scald might age badly but until then it's really great for this thing.
Very solid offensive Pokémon, it's dual STAB is known far and wide for having perfect neutral coverage. If this wins I expect it to be a welcome Scarf and offensive breaker.
This is bad, mainly because it's entire gimmick relies on non STAB Surf off an uninvested 75 SpA. Absolutely dreadful. Like, you can not use Surf and run any of it's fantastic utility options, but then whats the point of this thing's existence with a dead ability? Make this thing a part Water type pronto and pump up SpA more, so mandating Surf doesn't actively feel like you are harming the Pokémon.
it's Mega is pretty solid ig, and as mentioned would be a cornerstone for Stall based teams if it moved forward. Base is pretty ass, has a gimmick but would realistically see real value only in lower tiers.
Not much to say on this Pokémon tbh. It's pretty fantastic and when it wins it probably be an instrumental force in the tier.
This thing has ZERO defensive utility, I implore you to change that somehow.
Not much to say on this Pokémon tbh. It's pretty fantastic and when it wins it probably be a decent gluemon in the tier.
My fav sub from you (wonder why). Good set up sweeper with decent bulk and a powerful and high damage ceiling even off 1 QD. Maybe put this thing's Defense to at least 85 though 82 is such an u serious number if it's not a dump stat or speed tier.
Firstly, these NFEs are not gonna be viable, give up on forcing it (esp he Lairon thing).
Same thing you mentioned, it's a good defensive Pokémon that puts Stall specifically on the map. I will state though, however you achieve it, you are gonna get A LOT more mileage outta this Pokémon if it has 90~90+ SpA.
This came out a lot better than I expected? Sharpness level punching moves are pretty crazy, even if they quite not reach the levels of Sharpness itself. To that end, I suggest putting 5 Def points into Atk. The bulk barely matters but the increase in power def will.
Use like, any other Aggron ability.
I know what you're going for, but I am def letting you know that you really want better than worse Drought on this Pokemon. If you don't want crazy Regen just go Drought Oblivious or something. Or a variation on Kingdeedee's ability from Gen 8 FEUU.
You have Bug twice, not sure if that's an error or not. Outside of that, it's just a hard hitting Pure Bug, nothing much to it.
Take my advice, and put that 10 Atk points scattered somewhere more useful, like SpA, or Speed, or both. Outside of that, you should really be arguing on the potency of this Pokémon as a lead or as an offensive threat.
Strong fast breaker. Not much else to it. Not bulky enough imo to make Rage Fist insane, but I wonder how the move and say a Volt Switch interacts. This thing REALLY punishes pivot teams in general so I like that idea.
Funny ahh Sun setter. Switches in, clicks Priority Parting Shot, gets it the sweeper. Funny addition, but you are kinda right in it barely does much outside of that.
Fun special breaker. Fairy Flying offers solid utility rn, and being able to grab the item of stuff u swap into is nice. Pray u never face a Guts or pH user.
Crazy ass mon. It only takes one U-turn to make this thing insane, and while 97 Spe and it's relative fragility leaves it ill equipped for standard offense the same way Annihilape is, this has no problems bullying them in a diff way, eating weak hits til your Rage Fist sitting at a cool 200 BP since you can Regen it off. Honestly if you go no Regen it's fragility will probably balance it.
:Bedrill: Nothing of note wrong with this Pokémon - an offensive Weather setter. It's a shame it doesn't really abuse Sun that well for itself, and it's bricked as purely sun setting by other Koraidons.
Pretty boring all things considered. Yh it's Steel Ghost with a Fire immunity watch out! Blegh. It's not bad nor is it broken so good on that.
I think this should either be bulkier or naturally hit like a truck. Not sure if the latter is realistic but it would be interesting to say the least if you could make it work.
This is not Lando T. Ground Flying and Ground Bug imo aren't comparable to each other at all in regards to their defensive merits, and Sharpness feels tacked on, since X-Scissor has to compete with U-turn and Stone Axe isn't STAB.
Not very remarkable in the grand scheme of things, more interesting and probably even more better Water Fairy types have been subbed this slate. Yes, the main appeal to this imo is it's Mega's existence and subsequent interaction. The Mega would add a strong but not necessarily overbearing wallbreaker to the tier for the time being, and can flip a few matchups you weren't expecting on it's head. I still find it ahrd to consider over other options but the Mega gives it a slight but very specific and unique edge.
The main reason why I didn't give up making this review tbh. I love this Pokémon, but there is one really glaring issue here. Why is this being sold as a wall? A defensive pivot? The listed moves, it's description about what it does and how it fits into the tier screams wall...but that is NOT what this is. This is a 160 BP Close Combat throwing wallbreaker. Nobody in their right mind is running Body Press on this thing. You use the bulk being mentioned to find easy opportunities to switch in and proceed to wreck face. You are never clicking hazards with this thing, better setters exist. Mentioning a bad Ghost matchup when it has better Tough Claws Crunch is crazy to me. Not to mention Flare Blitz as a crazy forth option. Tl;Dr, this thing's Movepool and description should be updated to reflect it's actual role it holds in the metagame as a bulky wallbreaker. And on that end, imo add 5 more speed, 80 feels a tad bit too slow for its job.
Sorry for taking so long guys, shit happens. Hopefully I can crank out part 2 before the veto slate happens, giving more people more time to make corrections IF necessary / warranted. Gone a bed.
